Six Years Ago
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Fortunately for them, the kid isn't good at subtlety. When he appears it is usually with a delayed boom announcing his arrival, like a crack of thunder to his lightning. And a hood pulled low over someone's face doesn't mean much when there's only one preteen in the world who can blow a fire out with his bare breath while floating in midair.
Unfortunately for them the kid is fast, see aforementioned "sonic boom". That is not to say Danny could not follow him anyway, but after the eighth time he heads to one of the kid's rescues and he flees before Danny can get a word out, Ellie is sitting at his kitchen counter heating up his leftovers.
"You need to cool it," she says, using her fang to pop open a sapporo. "He doesn't want to be found right now."
"Yeah, I got that." Danny says, swiping the beer out of the hands of what is technically a fourteen year old. She shoots him a scowl as the microwave dings.
"He's a child, and he's sick, Ellie." Even if Frostbite hadn't said as much, it hasn't escaped Danny's notice that in the past two months his speed has ever so slightly slowed. A particularly brave emergency worker had scolded Phantom for scaring him off this time around, concerned about his thin wrists.
"Gee, a sick child runaway, I wonder who that reminds me of," she says, tapping at her chin. She douses the chicken lo mein in sriracha.
"That's different. You knew to come find me, when it got bad. This kid is afraid of me." And he was. Whenever he and Danny met eyes the kid would go pale(r) with fear before zipping away.
"So make him less afraid."
Danny gapes at her. "Gee," he says slowly, a mimicry of her earlier sarcasm. "Why didn't I think of that."
"You're literally stalking the kid right now, you think I don't know about Tucker's alert system? Right now you must seem like the boss monster that shows up at the end of the level," Ellie says. "You need to approach this differently. Go slow, the way you did with me." She pauses, mouth twisting in a way that signals she's about to be reluctantly vulnerable with him.
"I didn't know what it was like to be...cared about. Properly. Before you guys. Even with the memories," she taps her head with the chopsticks, "It didn't click. But you showed me you would be there for me, even as you respected that I needed my space. You taught me how to trust you."
Danny takes a lengthy pull from the bottle he's still holding. "I can't be patient with him, Ellie," he says. He fiddles with the edge of the peeling label. "He's going to get worse."
"Yeah." Ellie says. "And I think you should let him."
---
The first time the backpack appears, Jon takes one look at the post-it with the scribbled stylized D and ":)" on it and tosses the whole thing in the trash before taking off.
He does the same the next four times, even as the backpack gets bulkier, its contents crashing together as it hits the nearest available dumpster.
He's in New York City after he saves a window washer from falling twenty stories when he sees his face plastered on a Times Square billboard. A hotdog stand owner in New York City offers him one on the house which he reluctantly accepts, trying to ignore the man's searching gaze.
He's not an idiot. He knows he's starting to look like crap, if the way the people react when they see him means anything. It's not like he smells, he regularly bathes in clean streams and lakes, but even when he eats coconuts and mangos and wild raspberries until his stomach is bursting and he has spent the last five minutes petting a giraffe on the head, feeling so giddy he almost forgets how his family is gone—he feels...strange. Weaker. The cuts on his side and face from the evil robot with the green eyes have slowly scarred pink, and they still pull and sting if he stretches. Jon's never had a scar before, and now he has six. And he's losing weight.
A lot of the people he meets have been super nice about it, offering him food and, in a particularly cold area of Alaska, a zip up hoodie he now wears over his recognizable family crest. Not that doing so has stopped the white-haired guy from finding him. But it has allowed Jon to move around more freely when he isn't out rescuing people. He even made some cash in Wisconsin cleaning up a grocery store before the night shift manager had recognized his face.
This and the billboard means he stops to buy a pair of cheap glasses and a large t-shirt with the NYC skyline and shorts on it from a tourist shop. After, he takes a bus to New Jersey with the last of his money and changes in the bathroom. He bites back a sniffle when he peels his superhero costume from his body. He's suddenly overcome, poking a finger through the slashes in the side, and spends the rest of the trip with his head buried in his knees, trying to keep his hiccups quiet.
When he exits, he heads to the library he's already visited three times before. It's bad, to develop a routine like this when he is actively being hunted, but he can't help himself any more than he can help the way he sometimes sleeps in that barn in Kansas, the few times he feels like he can actually rest, surrounded by the familiar smell of animal and hay.
As he searches a few more terms that predictably turn up nothing on the public computer, he notes bitterly it's not like the man can't find him anyway. Just because he's backed off doesn't mean he isn't around, silently threatening Jon with randomly appearing backpacks. Each backpack is different too, as if Jon might be taking issue with the color purple rather than the scary guy providing them.
Jon pushes away from desk, waiting for the inevitable wave of despair that hits him after each Google session proves fruitless. He's even, in one moment of lunacy, searched Talia Al Ghul, thinking if anyone can find him after his search pings her servers it's her—
But she never did come.
No one has.
Except for him.
The wave today is muted, lapping at his ankles rather than bowling him over, and somehow the resignation that accompanies it hurts more. He wants to do something, anything, and so he scoots back to the cubicle and types in white haired flying man, d symbol.
This is the first time he learns about Phantom.
---
The boy has started taking the backpacks.
Each one is filled with fresh meals in glass tupperware, meant to last for a while even without refrigeration (though with the boy's ice breath, maybe it's not a problem), as well as ziploc baggies filled with pretzels and carrots and goldfish and celery sticks.
("no peanut butter, he might have a nut allergy!"
"Wouldn't that have come up in Frostbite's scan?"
"You think Frostbite would've thought amidst scanning a little boy's half-alien body to check for a peanut allergy?"
"...Fair enough")
Alongside the meals are cash in the form of U.S. dollars, pounds, euros, yen, yuan, and an extreme hail mary in the form of an ATM card that Ellie rolls her eyes at every time Danny packs it.
There is also a miniature first aid kit, sans medicine but including ice and heat packs you can shake to activate. Danny wedges folded clothing in the spare edges of the bag, a blanket, and forces the zipper closed over a pair of high top sneakers similar to the ragged ones the boy wears. He tops every one with the same post-it drawing of his symbol, and a smiley face.
The boy is still weakening, beginning to look like a strong wind could blow him over even as he zips through mudslides in Colombia and scoops a father and son out of a rip current in Italy, but as he accepts the backpacks Danny listens to Ellie and waits.
And then one day Danny is watching him push a bus away from the edge of a sinkhole in Mexico, school kids pressed against the rear windshield watching him, and Danny hears the creaking of his bone right before the kid's arm snaps.
"Okay, fuck this," Danny says into the Fenton comms as the child wails, swooping down to grab the boy with one arm and the bus with the other.
The boy is too stunned to react, sobbing with pain as he cradles his arm protectively, and Danny shamelessly takes advantage of that as he gently but hurriedly places the bus beside the crowd of spectators.
A very small woman who immediately beelined for him as he landed smacks him in the shoulder, hissing at him in Spanish while several people try to hold her back. She smacks him again.
"I'm trying to help him. I promise. Ayuda." Danny says, shifting the boy into a more comfortable bridal carry.
"Ayuda? Help? You, you bad! El pobre niño." The woman sneers. "Bad! ¡Mal Fantasma! ¡Eres un padre horrible!"
Danny knows what padre means, and even if he didn't, he's heard the rumors and conspiracies (and maybe even leveraged them in a conversation with the U.S. government, who can say) and he doesn't bother denying it, because the truth is he has let this child down from the moment he allowed him to be hunted on Skulker's island, and he deserves every nasty word and more.
"Yeah. I know," he tells the woman. In his ear, Sam demands to know what's happening. The boy is incoherent with pain, the outline of the bone pressing against his skin.
"It's going to be okay," Danny tells him, lifting off the ground. Regret is sour in his gut, bile on his tongue. What was he thinking? In the curl of his arms, the child is so small. This isn't a stray cat one coaxes into their home. This is a terrified little boy.
Danny isn't a fourteen-year-old too young and stupid to recognize he shouldn't let a two-month-old clone explore the world with his blessing. He's twenty-eight. He needs to get a grip.
He needs to be better.
The world stops. Everything goes quiet.
A blue portal unwinds via the hands of time.
"I see you're ready now." Clockwork says to him.
Danny wants to deny it, but the words are stuck in his throat. What use is denying what Clockwork already knows to be true?
"This is the right choice, Danny. Everything will be as it should be. Help him," Clockwork nods at the child. "Then find me."
Danny's tongue unsticks from his mouth. "Only if you tell me. If I do this, will he be safe? Will I have the power to protect him?" An echo of what waits to be unlocked drapes over his words, cracks appearing in the ground at his feet. "Tell me."
"Yes. You will keep him safe. Until he no longer needs you to do so. Here."
With a wave of his staff, a neon green portal rends through the air.
Clockwork drifts back to his own portal. "I will see you in Time, Danny."
Danny nods at him as he leaves, feeling a contract snap into place as time restarts at a crawl.
"Shh kiddo," he says as the boy, gradually unfreezing, trickles tears. "I've got you. You'll be okay. I'm going to fix this. I promise."
He steps through the portal, towards whatever comes next.

If The Core Division Three Members Had Gaming Channels...
Kafka Hibino {A.K.A ComfyManGaming}: Mainly Shop Management Sims or just Sims in general. His most popular series and the one that let him go full time as a content creator was his Power Wash sim Story Time where he got to talk about the craziest things that happened to him in his, like, six different cleaning jobs. ( In order; Landscaper, personal maid service, High rise window washer [tied for origin for most of his craziest stories], Nuclear Power Plant Office janitor, Failed attempt at running his own power wash service, and School Janitor with a car detail side job. {Most recent/longest held job/and also tied for craziest story origin generator with Car Detail Horror stories being second). Can be convinced to play atmospheric games like Journey/Abzu/Fire Watch/Anything thought provoking or emotional.
Reno Ihchikawa{A.K.A IchyChill Breakdowns}: Whatever Windette does, but with less insults. Basically Build Breakdowns and Speedrun Tutorials. Carried with the energy of a tired Indian Math teacher trying to teach calculus to 8th graders. Is also [technically] a PNG tuber, but because he's low energy, the PNG doesn't move much.
Iharu Haruichi {A.K.A SharkBAIT}: Two Channels. One is a horror game channel, Both Indi and Triple A. The other is anything casual, but mainly sticks to Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Coral Island, that sort of thing. Fans like to call the Horror one Anxiety and the non-horror one Anti-Anxiety(Each have their own mascots and like to fight each other like Jacksepticeye and Antisepticeye). He has absolutely accidentally cross posted horror vids onto the non horror channel and vice-versa. The community like to pretend that they don't interact with the other channels and when that sort of thing happens, they pretend they've been exposed to horrors beyond comprehension. (yes, even when the horror channel gets a cutesy vid)
Mina Ashiro{ A.K.A Can(n)onGodess/Pr3ttyW1ttl3K1tty}: Also Two channels, but actively makes sure that no one knows she runs both. One is a live stream of FPS set up as no-commentary/with camera (Mainly colorful ones like Valorant). The other is also no commentary with NO camera and its Sim 3 or 4 tips-and-tricks and Minecraft Aesthetic House Build (Mod and No Mod.)
Kikrou Shinomya:{A.K.A Can_It_Doom?} A STEM major that couldn't find a use for her degree as fast as she liked, so she started a Can it Run Doom? channel as a joke, and now it's evolved into a channel where people recommend different setups like Drumset Controler on a Texas TI-84 Graphing Calculator. (Is also currently in the middle of working on a live action Tank Setup for World of Tanks as a subscriber goal.)
Hoshina Soshiro{A.K.A SwordSingerSUPREME} Any game that involves sword fighting and critiques it either Accurately or HARSHLY. Also streams his HEMA training/tournaments. It's very popular (because everyone find him hot) and has since become a bit of an eclectic channel that is split between his Gaming vids, his HEMA vids, and P.O Box unboxing vids where people send him A LOT of gifts. There's also an over an hour video of him playing Let's Hit Each Other With Fake Swords the Card Game with his older brother (who is also in HEMA.) that he made when the channel hit 5 million subscribers.
✨Bonus✨
Gen Narumi{A.K.A xXGenNarumi420Xx}: Plays anything that's currently trending, but his bread and butter is FPS or Run and Guns. (Has confessed to saying "Would" to the Ultrakill Robot.)
Okonogi Konomi{A.K.A BlossomBear}: Indi VTuber that plays exclusively Indi Puzzle games or Puzzle Platformers. Isn't a singing VTuber so much as one that can and will go in-depth on programming and what goes into a VTube model (She made hers and it has two forms : a chibi, curly white haired, anthro bear girl and a white plushi version with orange blossom motifs.) Can and has demonstrated to be an absolute GOD at Minesweeper
Minase{A.K.A MinAction}: A anime/movie/Western Animation reaction channel. Has an uncanny habit of predicting things before they should be obvious.
Hakua{A.K.A HakuaKooksXP} A cooking channel whose shtick is 1000 Ways To Prepare [Insert Food Here.]. She's still currently working her way through rice.
Haruichi Izumo {Goes by his name} Various product review channel.
Aoi Kaguragi {Also goes by his name} A very well made workout channel.
#Kafka held two school janitor positions. One in an elementary and the other in a University.#He gained some internet fame before his channel existed when he interrupted a group of kids Livestreaming Pokemon in the public bathroom#They were stuck on a boss when Kafka came in.#He then proceeded to decimate the boss with the same setup the group was considering tossing out for being to underpowered.#Was friends with Mina in elementary. He thought it was funny too until he put on the hoodie.#Has confessed to sleeping in it and it hasn't failed to show up for a stream once. There are even reports that he brings it to HEMA events.#It got to the point that Kafka custom ordered and sent Hoshina a comically large coffee mug for his birthday.#Its about the size of an Oktoberfest mug and it made Hoshina very emotional.#Reno has his own version of the “I know what you are” Dog meme but its a gif.#His gamer tag is something I threw together last minute out of his last name and cold motif (please let me know if you have anything better#Iharu and Reno didn't know each other until the community started shipping their mascots together.#Now they're best friends who have started doing this whole “gay for the bit” relationship.#It doesn't help that Reno has show up in the background of Iharu's stream and has been seen spending the night at Iharu's place.#even though they live in different states and refuse to offer an explanation#Can(n)onGoddess and BlossomBear stream together a lot. It's probably the few times you'll hear Mina willingly speak.#I forgot to mention that Hoshina has a glass cabinet filled with s*x toys from his subscribers.#He keeps telling them to not do that but it still happens on occasion. How Brisbane Homeowners Are Simplifying Cleaning with Technology
Cleaning your house has always required a lot of time and work. But technology has completely changed the way we clean our homes. Brisbane homes are using technological advancements to simplify their cleaning practices, from digital cleaning instruments to cleaning management applications.
Using technology, this blog will explore how housecleaning in Brisbane is getting easier, more efficient, and even more enjoyable.
The Role of Technology in Modern Home Cleaning
Technology has entered every facet of our lives, and home cleaning is no exception. Homeowners may now save time, minimize manual labor, and keep their homes clean with the aid of gadgets and apps.
Why is Technology in Cleaning Becoming Popular?
Convenience: automated tools reduce physical labor.
Time Efficiency: Smart devices work faster and more accurately.
Custom Solutions: Cleaning apps can be used to personalize reminders and schedules.
Eco-Friendly Choices: Many tools provide an emphasis on sustainability, which is consistent with what modern homes value.
Key Innovations Simplifying Home Cleaning
1. Digital Cleaning Tools
Digital cleaning tools, such as robotic vacuum cleaners, smart mops, and automated window cleaners, have redefined cleanliness.
Robotic vacuum cleaners: Sensors make it simple for gadgets like the iRobot Roomba and Dyson 360 Eye to traverse and clean surfaces. They can be programmed using smartphone apps, identify dirt, and adjust settings based on the kind of floor.
Window washers and mop heads with intelligence: Automatic mops and window cleaners reduce the amount of physical labor required to ensure thorough cleaning without streaks or missing spots.
2. Apps for Cleaning Management
Apps for cleaning management are invaluable for people with hectic schedules. Homeowners may plan, monitor, and improve cleaning regimens with the aid of these applications.
Cleaning App Features
Personalized Cleaning Plans: Establish reminders for weekly, daily, or seasonal chores.
Collaborative Activities: Assign chores to family members or roommates.
Get notifications when cleaning supplies are running short using supply tracking.
Homeowners may keep on top of their cleaning game by using well-known applications like Sweepy and Today.
The Impact of Technology on Regular Home Cleaning in Brisbane
1. Enhanced Efficiency
Technology has minimized the time required for regular home cleaning Brisbane tasks. To ensure a clean home when you return from work, robotic cleaners, for instance, may clean while you're away.
2. Better Cleaning Standards
Smart tools are designed to clean areas that are difficult to reach manually. They provide consistent and thorough results, raising the standard of cleanliness in homes.
3. Green Cleaning Solutions
Reusable parts and energy-saving features are common in modern cleaning equipment, encouraging environmentally friendly behavior. For example, steam cleaners lessen the need for harsh chemical detergents, which fits in with Brisbane's trend for eco-friendly house cleaning.
A Balance Between Traditional Cleaning Methods and Technology
Despite its great convenience, technology needs to be utilized in conjunction with traditional cleaning methods for optimal results.
When to Use Tech in Cleaning
Routine tasks like vacuuming or mopping.
Specialized jobs such as cleaning windows or tiles.
using apps to stay on top of cleaning schedules.
When to Use Manual
jobs involving thorough cleaning that call for precision.
circumstances involving fragile materials, such as antique furniture.
addressing housekeeping crises that require quick attention.
Professional Cleaning Services and Technology
Certain activities are better left to experts, even with the most sophisticated technologies. For deep cleanings or other specialized jobs, Brisbane homeowners frequently utilize house cleaning services.
How Professional Cleaning Services Are Improved by Technology
Smart Tools: To increase productivity, a lot of cleaning businesses now use cutting-edge equipment.
App-Based Booking: Online platforms have made it easier than ever to schedule a cleaning service.
Real-Time Updates: Homeowners can monitor developments in real time via apps.
Professional cleaning services are now more affordable and efficient than before because of these synergies.
Top Tips for Incorporating Technology into Your Cleaning Routine
1. Start Small
Begin with a single tool, such as a robotic vacuum, to see how it fits your routine.
2. Identify the Characteristics
Recognize the full potential of your technology to make the most of it.
3. Include Tools and Apps
Use cleaning applications to manage both tech-based and manual cleaning tasks for a more thorough approach.
4. Continue to Be Eco-Friendly
Choose tools and materials that promote eco-friendly practices, including reusable mop pads or water-efficient cleaning methods.
Future Directions in Cleaning Technology
More inventive tools should appear as technology develops. Trends to keep an eye on include:
AI-Driven Cleaning Tools: Equipment that detects the layout of your house to clean it as efficiently as possible.
Voice-Controlled technologies: Combining Alexa or Google Assistant with other smart home automation technologies.
Sustainable technology refers to equipment made of environmentally friendly materials and using less energy.
Cleaner and greener houses will be possible thanks to these advances, which promise to make routine house cleaning in Brisbane even easier.
Conclusion,
The integration of technology into cleaning routines has transformed how Brisbane homeowners approach housework. From cleaning management software to digital cleaning gadgets, there are countless ways to create a more efficient and environmentally friendly living space.
BHC (Brisbane House Cleaners) use state-of-the-art tools and techniques to produce exceptional cleaning results. Their expertise ensures that your home remains a clean and welcoming space, whether you need assistance with regular cleaning or a one-time comprehensive cleaning.

This technique utilises pressurised water to remove dirt, grime, and stubborn stains from various surfaces, including concrete, brick, and siding. By incorporating power washing into your building wash routine, you can achieve optimal results with minimal manual labour. However, it's essential to use caution and follow proper safety guidelines when operating a power washer to ensure your own safety and that of others.
Eco-Friendly Cleaning Solutions

These technological innovations reduce the manual labour and time required for cleaning, allowing owners to achieve optimal results with minimal hands-on involvement.
Schedule Regular Maintenance
In the realm of building wash, consistency is key. Establishing a regular maintenance schedule for building wash can help you stay on top of cleanliness and prevent the buildup of dirt and debris. Professional building wash services help eliminate these harmful elements, creating a healthier and safer environment for everyone who frequents the property. Additionally, the removal of slippery substances like moss and algae contributes to preventing slip and fall accidents.
Compliance with Regulations
Many municipalities and property management associations have regulations and standards in place regarding the upkeep of building exteriors. Professional building wash services can help ensure that your property remains compliant with these regulations, avoiding potential fines or penalties associated with neglected maintenance.
Cost-Efficiency and Long-Term Savings
Investing in professional building wash services is a proactive approach to maintaining the value of your property. Regular cleaning and maintenance can prevent the need for more extensive and costly repairs down the line. By utilising biodegradable detergents, water-saving techniques, and responsible waste disposal, these professionals minimise the environmental impact of exterior cleaning while delivering optimal results.

And that brings us to the end of Phase Six. What do you think so far?
My Own DC Universe, Phase One
Here is the Phase One for a DC Universe I would make if I was in charge of running one, made up of seven movies culminating in a Justice League movie at the end.
Wonder Woman - While in pursuit of terrorist Paula von Gunther, U.S. marine Steve Trevor washes up on the lost island of Themyscira, meeting and befriending Diana, princess of the Amazons living there. Meanwhile, von Gunther also finds her way to the island, and attempts to seize control of the island using a dangerous biological weapon.
Main cast: Princess Diana/Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor, Baroness Paula von Gunther, Queen Hippolyta, Barbara Ann Minerva and Etta Candy (two marines under Steve's command who also survived the crash), Donna Troy (Diana's little sister), and Dr. Isobel Maru/Doctor Poison (a conspirator with von Gunther)
Green Arrow - Vigilante Oliver Queen finds himself captured by the government and forced to join Task Force X, a special team of criminals and outlaws tasked with infiltrating the enemy nation of Vlatava and taking out Count Vertigo, a Vlatavan noble plotting a chemical attack on the United States.
Main cast: Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, fellow Suicide Squad members Dinah Lance/Black Canary, Roy Harper/Speedy, Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Floyd Lawton/Deadshot, Carrie Cutter/Cupid, and William Tockman/Clock King, Amanda Waller (the government agent overseeing the team), and Werner Zytle/Count Vertigo)
Martian Manhunter - A Martian warrior finds himself stranded on Earth after falling through a portal, only for the portal's inventor to die of a heart attack before he can return. Hunted by the United States government, the Martian joins forces with a former marine named John Stewart in order to find a way back home.
Main cast: J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter, John Stewart, Cameron Chase (head of the DEO taskforce pursuing J'onn), and Dr. Saul Erdel.
Green Lantern - While in battle with a dangerous new enemy wielding a Red Lantern ring, Green Lantern Abin Sur crashlands on Earth, passing on his ring to fighter pilot Hal Jordan. Hal is then recruited by Sur's teammates to help them track down the Red Lantern before he can recruit more followers.
Main cast: Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Thaal Sinestro (Hal's new commanding officer with a secret), Atrocitus (the Red Lantern), Kilowog, Arisia Rrab, Salaak, and Ch'p (the rest of Sinestro's Lantern team), Carol Ferris and Thomas Kalmaku (Hal's friends), and Abin Sur.
The Flash - While trying to stop a heist, a police scientist and his girlfriend's little brother both get caught up in an explosion that gives them super speed. The pair learn to work together in order to bring in the gang of criminals called the Rogues.
Main cast: Barry Allen/The Flash, Wally West/Kid Flash, Iris West (Barry's girlfriend and Wally's sister), Joe West, Rogues' membership: Len Snart/Captain Cold, Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang, Sam Scudder/Mirror Master, Mick Rory/Heat Wave, James Jesse/ Trickster, Mark Mardon/Weather Wizard, and Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper; and Ralph Dibny (a scientist at STAR Labs)
Aquaman - Sixteen years before, David Milton Hyde encountered a beautiful Atlantean. Now, he is a pirate obsessed with finding Atlantis and proving its existence. His half-Altantean son Jackson accompanies him, meeting and befriending a young Atlantean named Garth and choosing to protect the kingdom from his father.
Main cast: Jackson Hyde, David Milton Hyde/Black Manta, Garth/Aqualad, Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Queen Mera (the rulers of Atlantis), and Cal Durham (a member of David's crew that Jackson is close to)
Justice League - After the portal between Earth and Mars creates an escape route from a dimension known as the Phantom Zone, an army of superpowered aliens called Kryptonians arrive on Earth and begin to conquer it as the "New Krypton." Billionaire Bruce Wayne brings together Princess Diana of Themyscira, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Arthur Curry, and J'onn J'onzz to help defend against them. As he researches the Kryptonians, he learns of a crash near Smallville, Kansas, twenty-five years before, leading him to discover a Kryptonian hiding out on Earth as a reporter.
Main cast: Bruce Wayne/Batman, Princess Diana/Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Barry Allen/The Flash, Arthur Curry/Aquaman, J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter, and Clark Kent/Superman (the team), Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, John Stewart (Also fought in the battles, Oliver turned down Bruce's invite), Kryptonians: General Zod, Faora, Ursa, Non, and Jax-Ur; Lois Lane, Jonathan Kent, and Martha Kent (secret-keepers for Clark), Amanda Waller, Iris West, others cameoing from previous movies.
And there we go. What do you think? I tried to work in a lot of standard major DC characters and give them all good origins from directions different from how we've seen them before. I also worked in Superman and Batman without giving them movies so that the others could have a chance to shine.

Drying
Pairing: Eustass Kid x GN reader. Modern AU.
Words: 1,367.
Warnings: none.
A/N: this will have a second part.
My alarm goes off, and I move like a robot. I put on my slippers and head to the laundry room. I put the clothes in the washing machine, throw the products and turn on the machine to go back to my bed.
I sit up, kick off my slippers, and climb back into my bed, pulling the blankets up high and drifting into a deep sleep.
*Beep*
As soon as I hear that annoying sound, I uncover myself and repeat the above process. Once I get to the laundry room, I turn off the washing machine, open it and put the clothes in a basket. I put on another washer and grab the basket. I'm about to leave in the direction of the clothesline when I stop in my tracks when I hear a crash. A thunder.
I leave the laundry basket on the floor and go to the window to look, only to find that it is raining buckets. Just great.
My mind goes to the clothes just washed and the ones in the washing machine, and tries to think of a way for the clothes to dry. Bingo.
The laundry.
I have breakfast and get dressed, waiting for the second washing machine to finish. When it's over, I take a large garbage bag and put it inside my shopping cart, and I put the clean clothes in there. The car fills up, and I take a small one that I have to put the rest of my clothes, first putting a normal size garbage bag.
I take my keys, my wallet, an umbrella and the two carts. While I'm in the elevator, I think, how am I supposed to carry the umbrella with the two carts? I go out into the street and sigh when I see that it's not raining.
I put the umbrella on one of the two carts and walk to the laundromat that is just one block away.
I arrive, and my heart stops at the number of people inside. Obviously she wasn't going to be the only person to have such a brilliant idea of going to the laundromat on a rainy day, but for some reason, she believed the opposite.
On site there are three small washers, three large washers, two small dryers, and two large dryers.
I go in and leave the carts in front of the counter where people fold their clothes and ask who is the last to dry. I have two men and a family of five ahead of me and at that very moment I consider going home, but I tell myself that it won't be that long either. One of the seats is empty, and I sit down to wait for one of the large dryers to be empty, since with a small one I would have to wait twice as long and pay more. I refuse.
I look around and see most of the people on their phones, and that's when my brain clicks. Shit. How could I have forgotten my phone? I huff and look at anything that catches my eye.
When I'm tired of looking around the place, I turn my gaze towards the entrance and my eyes meet the tall redhead who just entered as if he owned the world.
He enters the place and asks who is the last. A woman points at me and tells him that I am. He looks at me and our gazes connect again like the first time. He thanks her and returns to the entrance, where he stands with the door open. I look at him discreetly and unintentionally, my eyes stop on his butt. I scold myself for that and look away, then back to the door to search for him, only to find that he's not there.
I soon forget about it and check to see how the dryers are doing, only to be annoyed that the family has kept three of the dryers instead of just one and the other three for everyone else. One of the men who went before has finished drying his clothes and the next one runs to claim his turn in a hurry, before the large family takes it too.
Another woman walks into the laundromat and walks over to one of the small washers and loads her clothes.
The woman of the family sits next to me and starts talking to me about how today it's a bad day, and I agree with her.
The redhead walks back in and watches how things are going. After snorting, he goes out again, and I see how he stays by the door again. Apparently he's in a hurry and must be tired of waiting so long, which I completely understand.
I lose track of time, but my feet hit the ground again when I hear the beep of one of the dryers, so I get up. I sit down again when I see that, as soon as it is emptied by the man, the dryer is occupied by the family. As this happens, the woman's washing machine finishes, and I watch as she dumps her clothes into a red shopping cart with a black handle.
Not even five minutes pass when a beep is heard throughout the place. I smile when the family has finally freed up one of the large dryers, but it's not long before it disappears when I see the woman who had taken her clothes out of the washer less than five minutes ago runs up and throws the clothes inside in a hurry, not even giving me time to say something. I sink into my chair as a feeling of defeat washes over me.
I see how the small dryer only has ten minutes left. Couldn't she wait ten minutes? She doesn't even have that many clothes!
Suddenly I see him enter with another man, but this one is blond, wears a blue shirt and is not as tall as him. The blond sits one seat away from me, leaving one seat free. The redhead who stole my attention since he entered intends to sit next to me, but the lady from before arrives, and he tells her to keep the seat. The woman thanks him, and he looks back at me but walks away and sits on a curb and pulls out his phone, where he starts watching videos in another language.
Ten minutes pass, and the woman sitting next to me gets up to empty the dryer with her family. The redhead stands up and says that it's my turn, already knowing that the woman who is using the big dryer is doing it without it being her turn, since he knows that she hadn't asked for a turn. As the dryer that has been free is one of the small ones, I give him the shift. He asks me if I'm sure, and I say yes. At this, he happily calls the blonde, and together they put their laundry in the dryer. When the machine is running, he thanks me again and leaves the room, with the blond man following him.
When there are ten minutes left for the dryer to finish, they both come back, look at the timer and leave again, but not before the redhead looks at me. After that time, they return again and as before, between the two of them they pick up their laundry.
A man approaches him, laundry in hand, and he stops him.
—It's their turn.—and after saying this he turns to me—Because do you want it, right?—he asks me with a slight blush.
I nod.
—Yes. I was expecting the big one, but what a remedy.— and I give him a smile that he reciprocates. The blond, already at the door with the bag of dry clothes, calls out to him, and he reluctantly turns around.
After one last look at him, I turn and start to fill the dryer, hoping it will rain another day, so I can see him again, only to end up rolling my eyes when I see that I can fit all my clothes in the small dryer.
Brilliant…

Alex’s Apartment
This is roughly what Alex’s apartment looks like! A couple notes;
Her bedroom is definitely the part of it she’s put the most love, care, and decor into. The storage drawers underneath the bed basically function as her wardrobe, where she takes care to organise all her clothes into distinct sections so she knows where everything is when it’s pulled out. She takes some extra care when folding away her skirts and sundresses, however. She has a desk with her computer on it - one she built herself, and next to that is a beanbag where she sometimes likes to sit and work on her knitting, especially if it’s raining outside and she can listen to the sound of falling rain.
Next to her bed are... P l a n t s. A little cactus she got from her boss as a gift, and some planters of catnip and lavender (and one lavender planter hanging outside her room, too). Alley cats or housecats often come by her window (which has a little beanbag next to it) if they get a whiff of the catnip - she’s on the first floor, so she’s prone to this. She usually lets them in or just surrenders a bit of catnip to them.
Her bathroom is smaller than she’d like it to be, but it’s well kept - it’s where she stores all of her makeup and medications, such as her antidepressants and her hormones. She’s also a big fan of the bathtub, and though her usual routine is just a small, quick shower, she sometimes likes to treat herself to a bath on her days off.
Next to her bedroom is a kind of utility closet that she’s repurposed into a study area/mini workshop for her tinkering and smaller robotics projects, ones that don’t require as much sophisticated material. Her washer and dryer are also here, for when she needs to use them. She decided to go somewhere that had a built-in washer and dryer after realising that most student apartments have paid laundromats - and she’d rather save all the money she can.
There’s a little TV in the kitchen and dining area mounted to the wall, though she usually just puts the radio or a news station on. If she has someone around and needs some background noise, she’ll put on a show she likes, such as How It’s Made. She’s considered getting a couch in case someone wants to move in, but she wouldn’t be able to fit one in - this place has always been intended to be her own little space
Finally, she’s able to get all this because she was smart enough not to move into strictly student accommodation - for the days she needs to go into university, she usually takes the bus, but her workplace at the bookstore is in walking distance on the outskirts of the university city she lives by. The rent is a little cheaper there, and the whole apartment block and general area is much less noisy.

(( We could make that a thing, but he's more human and cyborg. The T-1000 is all robot that only looks human))
Adam threw it in reverse and drove backwards, the fucking thing was chasing them and shooting!
Lucifer pulled out his own gun and started shooting back out the window at it. Adam flinched when a window shattered, he spun the car around and drove off.
He wasn't sure if the worst part was, with all the gun fire that no one even batted an eye.
Adam: Why can't that thing just fuck off!?
Lucifer: That's the thing, it's programmed to hunt you down until it kills. It's all robot so it doesn't need food or sleep. That thing won't go down easily but they can be stopped.
Adam nodded as he drove, this person that he's supposed to be with better be the cream of the fucking crop if he's going to almost die for him.
He looked in the rearview mirror and that thing was finally gone.
For now..... It knew what he was driving now.
For fuck sakes.
Adam: This better all be worth it.....
Lucifer: It will be.
When they got to a new town Adam had to ditch the car because now that it was aware of it they couldn't keep it. Not to mention it's shot all to fuck now.
This..... This was all so hard for Adam to wrap his head around. He wants to play music for a living not fight an evil prick dictator in the future.
Lucifer kept him close, very close. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he failed.
The future would be fucked for sure.
They found another motel to hide out in, hopefully they could stay there a little longer.
Adam took a shower, he really fucking needed it, all that time running made him sweat. At least this motel has a washer and dryer in the rooms so he could do his clothes too, they were all he had on him.
Lucifer watched from out the window to make sure it was safe, he closed the blinds and stepped back. No need to draw attention.
He heard a lovely sound coming from the bathroom. Was Adam humming? It sounded so nice.....
Adam dried his hair and put on a bath robe, he came out and threw his clothes in the dryer before sitting on the bed. Where he was tall, the robe just covered him.
Adam: So I take there's no sign of that asshole?
Terminator Au
@beef-brisket
Lucifer waited for the lieutenant of the resistance, Charlie Kadmon to come and give him his new assignment. She told him that it was one of the most important assignments that he will ever have to do.
He wondered if it had anything to do with the Commander. Their fearless leader who was fighting a war against the tyrant Alastor who wanted to take over the world and make everyone his slave. Their Commander, Adam was one of the most badass people Lucifer knew, he raised Charlie alone and never spoke about her father. He took no shit from anyone and never had another lover since Charlie was born.
Lucifer hoped to be good enough for him one day. He didn't care he was older.
Charlie: Lucifer.
He fixed his posture and saluted his lieutenant.
Lucifer: I came as quickly as I could.
She had him walk with her for a little while until they got to a room and she handed him a device and a picture.
Charlie: You're the only one I can trust with this mission. Alastor is going back in time to kill my papa before I was born. I need you to go back and keep him safe.
The picture was of Adam when he was younger and Lucifer couldn't help but admire him.
Lucifer: I'll protect him with my life.
In a flash of light, Lucifer was gone.
Charlie: ..... Goodbye dad...
- 25 Years In The Past -
Adam was whistling as he walked to work for his shift at the music store. Today has been a pretty good day.
He opened up the shop and greeted his coworker and best friend Angel.
Adam: Hey bitch!
Angel: Hey bitch! About time your ass showed up.
Adam: Pfft, shut up I'm not late.

His biggest heist [Part 1]
Borg tower; the pinnacle of technology, security, and the future. Filled with information and innovation. It was one of the symbols of New Ninjago City and has been propped up as unbreakable.
So Jay decided to break in.
And that wasn’t even the best bit, he was getting paid to do it too.
Eight hundred feet in the air, on a window washer lift making it go as high as it could go. It was 10 pm, and Borg industries were having its annual gala. Security was lax so high up, everyone focusing on the first dozen floors, anything about 50 should be bare of breathing guards. But then again, Borg Industries was known for unconventional guards. But that's where Jay’s secret weapon came into play.
“How’s the hacking going Zane?” Jay spoke into his mouthpiece, the familiar metallic voice on the other end huffing in reply.
“No, you’re still out of range. They work on a short-ranged signal for a reason.”
“Well sorry princess, I thought it’d be better now we’re halfway up this stupidly tall building.” He muttered as the lift would go any higher. They were hovering at about floor 55, and he needed to still get up another 20 or so floors. “Welp, I guess I’m just climbing the rest.” He sighed as he unclipped his harness rope from the lift, messing with the controls for his harness.
“What! Your free climbing? The wind speeds are 40mph, you’ll be blown off!”
Jay was messing with the new features he added to his gauntlets. “Don’t worry, I’ve been working on a feature that allows me to stick to glass with electro-static leftover from the residual power.”
“First, you can't just confuse me with technical language like everyone else to get me to stop talking. I know what you're saying, and secondly, that feature isn’t field-tested. You don't know how well it works in real-world conditions!”
“Well, I guess it's time to test them then!” He cheered as he stuck his hand on the glass, it stuck and he tested it before he put his foot out and allowed it to stick. Soon he was completely off the lift, attached to the glass window like gum. Laughing gleefully he started to climb up the wall.
He could still hear Zane mumbling, “I swear you have a death wish.”
Jay elected to ignore the comment, “Tell me when you're in range.” He continued to climb about 10 stories, quickly becoming used to his new life as a tree frog as he methodically climbed the architecture.
“You're in range,” Zane quipped, and Jay stopped, letting his partner take over for the next bit. Zane had to hack in the short wave connection of the android guards. Allowing him to enter without alerting them and without tipping off Borg something was off with his toys.
“Do you have it, Zane?” Jay questioned, he didn’t like sitting here like a duck. Ducks got spotted and fed bread, and he wasn’t hungry.
“Finished,” The AI boasted, “Those androids are ridiculously simple once I cracked the firewall. Their visual and audio inputs are on a loop, so as long as you don't touch them they won't know you're there.” Jay could practically hear him smile. Zane may not always like his criminal behavior, but he couldn’t deny that this was so much more fun than playing go-fish in his dorm.
Jay finally got to his floor, giving Zane a minute to disable the alarm, he cut through the two-inch-thick glass with his laser cutter. Pushing in quietly he stepped into a dim hallway, getting surprised as an android guard walked up to him. He had to step back, flatting himself to the wall so it wouldn’t touch him. But it walked by, disappearing into a door right next to him. Opening the door with its identification code.
Jay let it walk in and before the door could close he slipped followed after it. Walking into another dim hallway with three doors on the end, “Ok Zane, I should be close, can you get me through the doors?” All the doors needed an id to get through, but he couldn’t follow the same android, it was going through the left door and he had to go right.
“Already ahead of you. Do you need me to tell you where to go too? How about what we’re looking for too,” He asked slightly annoyed.
“Haha. You’re very funny.” Jay quipped back, going to the right door to enter. He knew that Zane hated doing all the work, but this wasn’t a simple museum where the most he needed was noticed when the police called. The security here was tight, and the only way he could do it is if he stayed unnoticed. And he couldn’t hack everything as quickly or as unnoticed as Zane could. And being quick was the key to getting in and out without being caught.
Zane provided a code, and Jay projected it onto the scanner beside the door, opening it and Jay slid through. Jay continued to sneak throughout the seemingly endless hallways, avoiding the android guards that stood by some doors, and others that walked up and down the hallway. Staying as far from them as he could, he trusted Zane’s hacking, but things could always go wrong. The deeper he got into the building, the dimmer the hallways became, telling Jay that the security here was taking more electricity than previous. Whenever someone would come here legally they would turn on the aux lights, but he wasn't being very legal at the moment. Not that it bothered him. His bionic eye was equipped with ocular adjustments more sensitive than his natural eyes, making the dimness seem brighter than it was.
Jay opened one more door and saw the door he was searching for, it looked like all the others, but it had android guards on either side. Approaching the machines he looked at the door, it opened just like all the others, with a scanner on the right side right behind the android. It gave him about four inches to maneuver, but that should be just enough. Taking a deep breath he slid his arm between the two, and with a flick, he activated the projector for the code right onto the scanner. The door giving a slight hiss as it opened, Jay froze waiting for the guards to attack him. But they didn’t even twitch as the door opened, sighing he pulled his arm back and walked in. The door shut behind him and lights flicked on automatically. Bathing the small room in harsh light. Hissing at the sudden brightness Jay tried to take in what he was seeing.
There was only one thing in the room. A red mask with white markings swirling about the face. The mouth was closed with big teeth prodding from the mouth. The eye holes were rimmed in black as the mask's impressive eyebrows squinted in discontentment. The mask was in a glass case, and there were four more guards at each corner of the display case.
"Ok Zane, what am I looking at?"
"A mask in a display case," Zane answered simply, and he could hear him chuckling as Jay facepalmed at his response. "I know I know." Zane chortled as he looked at the alarms and electronic triggers around the room. "By opening the door with a legal code, the room sensors were disengaged, but the androids are directly linked to the case. If it's opened without authentication, they will either attack you or attempt to destroy the mask."
Jay stepped closer to the mask, looking for any physical triggers too, "Ok, so what's the authentication key?"
He heard Zane hum as he tried to answer his question, "A vocal command it seems. A person who matches the vocal key and a certain phrase is needed, but I can't decipher what the phrase is." He huffed in frustration.
"Here show me. I'll help." And the code appeared on his gauntlets projector. The two looked at the code, slowly decoding what meant what. Finally, they were able to get a phrase, "Release alarm on case 198-021, by the authority of Cyrus Borg." Jay read aloud, chuckling at the unoriginal phrase. "Could you construct a synthesizer in Borg's voice?"
"I can certainly try, but it may take some time."
"How long?"
"At least ten minutes."
"Can you do it in seven, we don't have the luxury of time."
"I'm working as fast as I can, but you may need to try and find another way if you can't wait," Zane said, returning to work on the synthesizer.
Jay huffed, as he studied the case and the androids. He knew the blueprints of robots well, he could just short-circuit them. But he couldn't do all four at once. And anyway, once he took one out, every android not assigned to a position would converge on him. Not a welcome outcome, so he either had to get the voice key or find a way to keep the alarm system from triggering. But that was going to be tricky because it was a physical trigger on the glass case, either for pressure or an electrical current. If you disrupted it, the alarm would go off. Maybe he could cut into the glass itself? Take out the top and pull out the mask? He'd have to make sure that the mask itself wasn't on a pressure plate as well, but it would be a good option.
"Zane, how's the key going?"
"Poorly, I'm able to get the rest of the phrase, but the different pronunciation possibilities for 198-021 make it nye impossible to make a perfect key with no reference."
"Well, what you have now, will it work?" Jay questioned
"I'm uncertain. I don't know if the phrase needs to be verbatim to work. If it's not right, we'll set off the alarms." Zane hummed in thought, calculating the risk that going through with the vocal key would take.
"It's too much of a risk, we should try to break into the case itself. Zane is the mask on a pressure plate?" Jay questioned the AI, and he heard him hum in thought as he looked through the available resources.
"I can't tell for certain. There are two triggers, but I can't tell if one is for the mask, or if they're both for the case."
"No matter which one we choose, we risk an alarm. I'm going to try and cut into the top. Zane be at the ready. If the alarm does go off, I need you to deactivate the four androids here and the two at the door." Jay said, he knew that there wasn't a kill switch that would work for all the androids, needing to be turned off individually. But if he was going to get out without being caught, he had to depend on Zane's ability for multitasking and speed. Or he'd be a fish in a barrel.
"Of course," Zane hummed, setting up the code to try and find the kill switch. Once he activated it Borg would be notified that something was wrong and the other androids would converge on their location. Which drastically cut their chances of escape. Too much for Zane's comfort. "Ready when you are." He stated ready to kill the androids if needed.
Jay rolled his shoulders, loosening the stress that's been building for the last half an hour. He knew he only had about 10-20 more minutes before something happened. Either someone noticed the androids were on loop or would spot him on camera. He had to act now or get caught. Taking a deep breath he adjusted his laser for the thickness and type of glass he was cutting.
"Here we go," he breathed as he began to cut.

Transformers Animated: Morning After: Chapter 03: Breathe
“Tyla, table five has been waiting for half an hour already!”
Lie.
“Be right there! Just take care of my table for me!”
Lie.
“Hey, you, you got my order wrong.”
Lie.
“I’m sorry, but we’re going to have to give you a pay cut.”
Lie.
“Hey Tyla, snap out of it.”
Tyla blinked, her attention snapping to the thumb and index finger that appeared out of nowhere, clicking against each other repeatedly. They belonged to one of her co-workers, one whose name she couldn’t bring herself to remember. They remembered hers, so she supposed that she should at least return the courtesy, but their name plate was missing and she didn’t feel like raking her brain until their name popped back into her head.
“Huh? What is it?” Tyla asked, looking to the figure beside her, watching their long fingers popping open the top of a cigarette carton and pulling out one of the small white sticks residing inside of it. Personally, she never understood the reasoning behind smoking, but she didn’t care to find out either. She took a broad step to the side, wanting to limit the disgusting smoke smell sticking to her clothes and invading her lungs without her consent.
She could have stood somewhere else, but she had been standing there first, plus the smoker’s area was inside the building, not outside. Her co-worker must have thought that no one would mind the air being poisoned. She minded though she kept her mouth shut about it. The last thing she needed was to start something and end up getting another pay cut simply because her co-worker was too inconsiderate to take her health into consideration whilst throwing their own away.
“Oh nothing. You just seemed like you were off somewhere better than this,” they smirked, putting the cancer stick to their lips, lighting it up a second later, the smoke curling its corruption against the air, off to poison something in its path. “We can’t have that now, can we?”
Tyla forced herself to smile at the depressive comment, albeit a weak one. If only they were right on their assumption. A daydream would have been nice, if only providing a temporary escape from her workplace. She tilted her head back against the wall of the local Burger Bot, blonde hair sweeping in front of her eyes. She didn’t feel up to moving them out of her eyes, so she let them stay there, blinding her for a couple of seconds of pure sight deprivation.
She wanted to reply with a cocky ‘if only’, but instead she shrugged her shoulders, a meagre gesture, but one her co-worker understood well enough to concentrate on what they were busy with instead. She had taken her fifteen minute lunch break in the hopes of spending some time alone with her thoughts, but that hadn’t gone as planned.
She could have chosen to hide behind the dumpster, but the smell would have chased her away faster than her co-worker’s. Although she had thought of spending the time alone, she supposed that it wasn’t really all that bad if she tolerated the other’s presence for the remainder of her break. Even if the two of them didn’t talk, she found some form of comfort in knowing that someone at least wanted to be within her company. They could have easily avoided her without a care, yet they had chosen to stand beside her instead. Maybe they needed the interaction just as much as she did.
Tyla glanced over towards them, breathing out through her nose to try and keep the smoke’s smell from drifting up through her nostrils. Her own hands were resting in the pockets on her jeans, the only place she could think of to put them instead of having them hanging at her sides with nothing to do.
Her lips parted, then closed. She didn’t know what to say, much less what to do, so she looked ahead of herself once more, brushing the stray strands of hair out of her eyes this time.
“Hey, Tyla?”
Well, it seemed that she wasn’t the only one that had been thinking of striking up a conversation for the sake of drowning out the silence. She looked to her co-worker once more. “Yeah?”
“Do you think we finally did it?” they asked, their blue eyes looking down to the gravel pavement pushed against the side of the building. Tyla’s gaze followed theirs, watching a tiny ant skittering off on its own with a bread crumb someone dropped when they were eating one of the burgers on their way out. She almost smiled at how happy the ant seemed to have found something for its colony. A true provider with nothing more than a simple wish to make those it lived with happy. It was cute, if not a little sad.
“Did what?”
“Reached the pique of humanity?”
Ah, that question. The question everyone living in Detroit seemed to have on their minds at one point or another. The most advanced city in the world, what with its robotic helpers taking over all the roles humans no longer wished to participate in. Window washers, refuge cleaners, even dogwalkers were replaced by those ‘automated helpers’ that the world-renowned Isaac Sumdac earned his fortune from. How he had originally come up with his idea for his robotics company, she didn’t know. She only knew his name because of the TV in the corner of the fast food restaurant she was leaning against like some kind of loiterer.
When she first moved to the city, she’d had to jump out of the way to avoid quite a few of those automated helpers. When it came to applying for the job she had right now, she had been worried about being turned down for not having some kind of robotic part inside her body.
What amused her was the fact that there were still a few humans that worked inside the building, doing the cooking and grilling, and even taking the orders of the customers all too happy to complain when their order took too long despite being prepared beforehand for their waiting convenience to be cut in half. If they had to make it themselves, they would have taken twice as long. She didn’t work behind the griller, but she noticed how stressed the cooks became when the table waiters and waitresses put pressure on them to hurry up before a customer decided they wasted their time simply waiting to be served, have their meal brought to them simply because they had the status and money to afford eating out once in a while.
She wanted to shrug again, not really knowing what her own personal thoughts were on the topic but found herself answering instead. “Probably not. All things considered, humanity could be doing worse.”
“Worse than we already are?” they asked, tilting their head as the ash at the end of their cigarette dribbled to the ground, leaving it for a refuge bot to clean up at a later point. Tyla felt her stomach churn at the sight but tried to ignore it. All things considered, she was surprised that she herself hadn’t turned to smoking as a way to cope with all the thoughts running rampant in her mind at times. That was their usual excuse, wasn’t it? That smoking helped them breathe. She would have laughed at the irony, considering that they wanted to ‘breathe’, yet were more than willing to ignore the obvious fact that they were busy poisoning themselves and those within their current vicinity. Still, she kept her mouth shut about it. If they wanted to rot their lungs, then so be it. Everyone had their coping mechanisms, some were simply more destructive than others.
“We’re humans, aren’t we? There’s always more ways we can screw up,” Tyla said, the unease in her chest lightening some. When was the last time that she had been so honest with her own opinions? She didn’t know, but she was glad to voice that at least.
Her co-worker nodded, seemingly agreeing with her, or at least pretending to. A short while later they dropped the end of their cigarette to the ground and stomped it out, stretching their arms high above their head, the soft snap of bones releasing tension from their shoulders.
“Well, guess it’s time to head back in and earn that money. Gotta make a living somehow right?”
With that, they turned and headed back inside, leaving the smoked butt on the ground to become someone else’s problem later down the road. Tyla found herself frowning, looking to the dumpster barely a few feet away, not to mention the ashtrays that were inside the restaurant for those who found it too inconvenient to dispose of the remains properly.
Tyla sighed, swooped down to pick up what remained of the burnt out stick and tossed it into the nearest ashtray when she walked past the smoker’s area. Luckily, she had gotten the choice of whether she wanted to work within that area or not. Her lungs thanked her for taking the choice to avoid it.
Looking out to the gathered crowd of waiting customers, Tyla took a breath, steadied herself and went back to work. That much needed money wasn’t going to go earning itself, not with her luck.

A/N: So, in this chapter, we find out that (Y/n)'s soul trait is integrity; honesty and strong morals. The only problem with having integrity as a main soul trate is that, because you're so honest, even if you don't want to trust people, you can have the tendency to believe people easier, because you expect others to mean what they say as much as you do. Even extremely smart beings with the trait can second guess their instincts or have them overwritten because the person lying is someone they (want to) trust or have positive feelings about/ for. Based on the note... can you guess what's going to happen in this chapter... lol Also, sorry, guys! I kept trying to get this to post all day, but I guess that tumblr hates long posts...? Or me... Might just be me... lol.

Story
Little lies never hurt anyone.
Sans leaned on the counter of the odd and ends shop, though it should rightfully be called a thrift shop, since most of its contents had come from other people and not “sources” like a normal store.
“You got a friend you’re buyin’ all this stuff for?” The bunny on the other side asked suggestively.
Sans gave her a smirk. “what’d make ya think that?”
“Well, you haven’t flirted with me once since you walked in the door,” she hinted.
“ah, sorry, doll. jus’ a lil distracted fer a sec, thinkin’ a comin’ in... did ya want ta hop on th’ sans express an’ ride it ta th’ bone zone?” He asked with a heavy handed lewdness.
Honestly, he’d rather spend the time with his sweetheart, but he had to keep up appearances so that no one got suspicious.
Plus, awkward sexual tension filled innuendos were easier to deal in than talking about feelings and shit.
The bunny gave a giggle and continued to lean over the counter toward him instead of going to get his requested items. “Still as charming as ever, I see.”
Sans flashed his smirk again. “so, can i get my stuff?”
The bunny giggled again and with a wiggle of tail asked, “so, does that mean that you’re thinking of getting a pet? Going to go out and take one?”
He let out an annoyed sound. “can i jus’ get my fuckin' stuff?”
She looked a little startled by the suddenness of the change, but took it in stride as it wasn’t really so strange for the former Underground citizens to be testy, and turned to go to the back.
"So," the bunny’s brother asked as he brought the requested items out a moment later, "you gonna wear these, then?"
Sans sneered at him. "you wish ya freak."
"A little too much denial…?" The bunny suggested with a smirk.
Sans gave a disgusted face. "go fuck yerself." He turned, flicking his fingers and letting his magic tug on the piles of stuff on the shelves above the bunny's head. "get dunked on, ya ass hat," he called back over his shoulder.
.
“aww, ya ain’t seen nothin’ at all?” Sans asked with a suggestive grin to the small cluster of spider ladies selling their baked goods in the corner of the bar. "'s a human, hard ta miss..."
“Ooooh, no,” one hummed.
“No, not anything… Do you wanna buy a croissant, Sans? It tastes soooo good with mustard…” another tempted.
“heh. ‘d rather have somethin' a lil sweeter on my tongue,” he insinuated, thinking of (Y/n) at home, spread across his bed, his tongue tasting all sorts of things…
Drool was slowly pooling between his sharp teeth, and he quickly wiped it, giving an internal groan at how fast his cock had risen to attention at the thought.
He needed to get with his sweetheart quick, even just enough to curb the appetite growing inside of him.
The spider girls giggling brought him back to the present. He flashed a grin and went to the bar, getting a mustard to drink as he continued around, checking everyone for info.
After the rest of his rounds, he headed to his last few information gathering contacts. The ones he knew couldn't keep their mouths shut.
.
(Y/n) didn’t know what to do. She was stuck in this house, not able to leave, not much to do, nowhere to go.
Sans’ room was messy, her clothes were dirty, it wasn’t even lunch time…
First, she went to the bathroom and washed her clothes in the tub the best she could, cleaning herself as much as possible in the process, hanging them to dry so she could have something clean to go home in.
Then, she went back to Sans’ room, looking around. She couldn’t read any of the books on the shelf, seeing that the words were all written in a strange sort of glyph, and remembered that Sans had told her he couldn't read human language, but as she put all the books on the shelves, she saw the covers had various strange pictures, outerspace, numbers, shapes, most of them looked like school books, but, like they’d be for some advanced courses. She flipped through the pages of a few of them and saw all sorts of charts and formulas that looked reminiscent of something she’d seen on a tv show with Neil deGrasse Tyson as the host. Very smart… and science-y…
(Y/n) put them on the shelves, trying to keep them together as best she could. Some of the books were obviously not… string theory… or whatever the hell the others were… but, novels or something, a few of them she had only a vague idea, having to make a guess that one with a simple cover of a monster laughing at a casket and a crowd laughing at the two was either a black comedy novel, or a book of dark jokes.
She leaned toward the dark jokes.
Under his desk, she found a folded up paper and opened it, trying to see if it was important, though she'd really have no idea, and saw that it looked like some sort of congratulatory certificate. High school diploma, maybe?
After she got everything sorted, she tried to put it with other things that looked the same.
She went out into the rest of the house and found a garbage can under the extra tall sink cabinet, and took it up Sans' room, only throwing away things that were obviously trash; food wrappers, crumpled up bits of paper, other strange little things that might have been dried lava, or eternally frozen snow… any way, they were things that looked like they had fallen from his shoes.
When she took the garbage can back down, she found something that looked like it might be a vacuum, and she looked at it, turning it around and pressing the buttons to see how they worked without any power, before sticking it back in the closet and pulling out the broom and dust pan.
Sweeping was better than nothing… and also better than blowing up the house.
The next task (Y/n) tackled was sorting out the laundry, though she couldn’t find any washer or dryer to clean them in. Maybe they made laundromat trips?
After that she figured it was about lunch time, so she dug through the fridge and ate a small portion of the lasagna from the night before. It wasn’t the worst she’d ever had, but it was far from the best. Maybe if she hid some of the spices he’d used that should have stayed out of the mix, like sage, paprika, cinnamon, nutmeg… really, she thought maybe he’d just put some of everything in the spice rack in there.
She tried turning on the tv and entertaining herself, but the only channels they seemed to get all had the same robotic actor on them, overdramatically giving monologues, "hosting" or cooking things- awful things… that’s probably where Sans’ brother had gotten the recipe for the lasagna…
She turned it back off, and decided to look through the windows to try to get an idea of the area she was in. Knowing that she was at least supposedly in danger, and most likely truly could be, she only peeped from the edges of the window for the first few minutes, but after noticing that there didn't seem to be anyone or anything outside but tall grass and flowers, she just looked through it normally.
I thought they said we were in monster territory…?
(Y/n) put a hand over her face. What if they were all the way on the other side of the monster territory? She certainly couldn't find any landmarks that looked familiar, and the tall buildings usually on the horizon seemed to be missing.
Only more support for her 'Sans is actually a nice, though perverted, guy' theory…
She sighed and decided to go look out the windows in Sans' room, thinking that maybe she'd see something familiar from higher up.
(Y/n) was standing at the window, wondering what kind of flowers were in the field, when the door opened. She, of course, expected it to be Sans, this being his room and all, but the blood drained from her face was she saw the tall skeleton in the doorway.
"HUMAN, I THOUGHT YOU WOULD PROBABLY GET HUNGRY, AND I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D BE ABLE TO FEND FOR YOURSELF," he shouted, sounding extremely put upon. "AND I KNEW SANS WOULD BE TOO LAZY TO REMEMBER TO FEED YOU, SO I- WHAT ARE YOU DOING OVER THERE?" He asked suspiciously, cutting himself off before getting to his point about how much of a hassle it would be if she died from starvation.
Her color had gotten paler when she'd seen him, and her eyes had started darting around the room, as though taking stock of what she could use as a weapon. Papyrus automatically did a check and found that not only did she have a blue soul, denoting her strong integrity, but it seemed to have a bit of a purple glow around the edges showing her perseverance, looking a bit like blue velvet; blue, but purple in the shadows caused by the texture, and she had an extremely low LOVE, around that of a child's, and was surprised that her desire to find a weapon went so against her stats.
It must be a survival tactic, then. Probably to defend against any oncoming attacks.
She posed no threat to him, but he applauded her instinct to be ready to fight if necessary.
She swallowed harshly and managed to rasp out a broken whisper. "Loo-n- ou-si-." She pointed out the window to try to help him understand what she was saying.
He seemed to have dismissed her, though, looking around the room. "OH MY GOD!!"
She jumped at his exclamation. Did she do something wrong by cleaning?
"THIS IS THE CLEANEST I'VE SEEN MY LAZY BROTHER'S ROOM SINCE WE MOVED IN!! BUT, WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THE LAUNDRY? IT'S JUST SITTING HERE IN PILES."
"C-ou-... cou-n't fi-d," she rasped, shaking her head nervously apologetic. Her hand went to her throat, and the way she winced showed how hard on her throat just getting that much out was.
Papyrus hummed, his fingers lifting to his chin. It would make sense that she wouldn't wash them if she couldn't find anything to do it with. "FEAR NOT, HUMAN! I, THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS, WILL SHOW YOU WHERE THE WASHING MACHINE IS! AND HOW TO USE IT!!"
(Y/n) opened her mouth to object that she did know how a washer worked, but it didn't matter, because he had just turned and started out the door with, "COME, HUMAN, AND BRING A PILE OF LAUNDRY!!"
After having the instructions on how to use the machine yelled at her, for no particular reason, she was glad that it had been Sans that had found her, and that Papyrus had only come to check on her and would be leaving soon. She didn’t know how long she’d be able to stay in his presence without constantly being on the edge of a panic attack.
When she came back into the front room from where the laundry room was, behind a hidden door in the kitchen, Papyrus was standing a little awkwardly near the door.
"W-WELL… I CAN'T SPEND ALL DAY MAKING SURE THAT YOU DON'T DIE! I HAVE TO GO! …" He stood silently for another moment, then announced, "I'M GOING."
(Y/n) gave a smile and waved, the most she could do without hurting her throat further or risking offending him, and had to hold back a laugh as the start of a red glow touched his cheeks and he looked flustered for a millisecond before he gave a tug to straighten his outfit before he turned and walked out through the door.
After Papyrus left, (Y/n) mostly just hung around and did laundry, looking through things, but not finding much for her to do until she found a deck of cards, then she sat on the floor and played solitaire, pausing only when the laundry was done, to fold it and put it on the desk chair, not wanting to dig around in Sans’ drawers.
He was a guy… guys had… stuff … that she’d rather not stumble across… especially due to the strange things that had apparently turned him on before. Also, being a skeleton monster made him different from every other guy she'd known, and the thought of finding super weird fetish stuff that she'd inevitably be morbidly curious about gave her pause.
She wasn't a "freak" but… curiosity was something that had gotten the better of her before, and some things in life, you just didn't need to know.
.
(Y/n) had finished the few loads of laundry, folded them, and turned to just playing card games by herself on Sans’ bed by the time the door opened and Sans walked in, looking tired and sweating a weird sort of translucent, but red tinged, perspiration.
He stepped in and closed the door behind him before looking up, but then froze in place and swept his shocked and slightly horrified gaze around the room.
For the second time that day, she wondered if she'd done something wrong by cleaning Sans' room.
He stiffly walked to the chair and pushed the laundry off onto the floor.
(Y/n) made an indignant noise from the bed, but heard him mutter, "too clean…"
Ahh, so he's one of those people who need a little disorder to feel comfortable , she noted, feeling the anxiety leaving her as he tossed his coat on the chair and turned to her.
He smiled and lifted a bag onto the bed. "i, uh- i uh- gotcha some stuff…" His expression shifted to that angry sort of flustered look he'd had before, paying close attention to how his other hand was fiddling with the edge of his red sweater. "somethin' ta wear, s-so ya don't have ta keep wearin' dirty clothes…"
Sans glanced over at her and felt another pang in his chest at the beautiful smile she was giving him.
fuck-! so adorable! an'... why d'i feel disappointed that she's not wearing my clothes, now?
(Y/n) smiled at him, mouthing thank you . She hesitated before nervousness seemed to grow over her a little and her gaze focused on the bed.
“wassup, sweetheart?” He asks, feeling a bit nervous about what was on her mind.
She gestured, asking, can I go home? She immediately winced and glanced up at him then back to the bed, as though she were worried he was going to hit her.
Sans felt his soul throb painfully at the thought of her leaving, and his hand automatically went to it. He realized what he was doing, and changed the movement to scratching his sternum through his sweater. Luckily, he had a reason for her to stay. He move the bag onto the floor, then sat on the mattress and laid back with his shoulders about even with her, making himself comfortable as he told her, “i talked ta alla my contacts, an’ it sounds like no one knows ‘xactly where ya are, but they definitely know that there’s a human on monster turf.”
Her brow dipped in confusion and she asked, how?
Sans shrugged as he put his arms behind his head, his fingers running over a crack on the back of his skull. “dunno fer sure-” ok, it might have been from his asking so blatantly if anyone had seen a human around- “but i hadda getcha here somehow. coulda jus’ been spotted on th’ way. tough luck, but, should be good in two or three days. ‘f we wait fer three, they’ll most likely ferget ta be lookin’ fer ya.”
(Y/n) eyed him, and he was glad that he’d already been sweating so that she hopefully didn’t notice the fresh round of perspiration beading on his skull. Finally, she seemed to accept it, and he let out an internal sigh of relief.
“so, you, uh, ya have an ok day?” She gave a half nod half shrug. “noticed ya cleaned up ‘round here… an’ i appreciate th’ thought behind it, sweetheart, ‘s real sweet a ya, but, i gotta ask ya; please don’t. kinda wigs me out when ‘s too clean. like it’s a fake fuckin’ storybook,” he muttered.
She put a hand on his arm, and it felt like Sans’ soul tumbled around his rib cage. He looked up to see the apologetic look on her face. Sorry...
Apologies? Yeah… Those were something that never happened in the Underground.
In a kill or be killed world, any sign of niceness was seen as a form of weakness, so niceties had been dropped long ago.
The way his sweetheart was so nice, showing kindness and caring was definitely something he liked about her, but… it also made him uncomfortable.
Sans would never turn away from her for her weakness, he wanted to protect her, keep her with him and safe. But… he didn't know how to react to this kindness. So he again took it to a place he was more comfortable with.
“ah, dollface, don’t worry ‘bout it…” He turned and his thumb went out to run down her cheek, trying not to let the tiny flinch get to him. “if it’d make ya feel better, i know somthin’ ya could do ta make it up ta me…” He gave her a smirky grin and took his hand back, putting a fingertip on his cheek. “how ‘bouta kiss?” He watched her gaze turn wary, her body stiffening like she was getting ready to bolt.
False, flirty affection and innuendo was so much easier to handle than real affection, even if he wanted her affection like a starving man wanted food. It seemed, though, that she knew how to take flirting about as well as he knew how to take a compliment, so he again changed directions.
“kiddin’- ‘m kiddin’, doll,” he assured quickly, feeling a prick of pain in his soul. He was not kidding. He'd probably do anything to get her to willingly kiss him again. “heya, knock knock.”
She looked at him uncertainly, but lifted a brow and tilted her head. Who’s there?
“sherlock,” he told her, watching as she puzzled over it.
Sherlock who…? Seemed to be what she asked with her confused expression after a moment.
“ sherlock yer door tight, sweetheart,” he told her, watching as her eyes closed as she took it in, then her posture changed as she silently chuckled.
Sans’ smile widened in satisfaction that she enjoyed his joke. “knock knock, doll.”
She lifted her brow to ask who's there, but it was the cute little smile on her face that made his soul throb.
“mustache,” he told her, watching her expression contort in confusion.
Mustache? Can skeleton monsters even grow mustaches? What the hell? She thought and tilted her head inquiringly.
“ mustache ya a question, but i’ll shave it fer later,” he told her with a blow off expression, watching her giggle as squeaks and huffs left her.
There… that adorable expression on her face was a much better look than her being worried that he was going to do something unpleasant to her. Even if the worry was justifiable, given his track record concerning her…
He just watched her giggling for a moment, red spreading over the bridge of his nose.
She tapped her hand to his arm and managed to ask, you know a lot of knock knock jokes?
“knock knock,” he told her in answer, and she lifted a brow immediately in question. “rhino,” he told her.
Oh, this one had to be good. She tilted her head and lifted her brow again.
“ rhino every knock knock joke there is,” he told her, his grin getting a bit goofier at her reaction. Stars she was cute! “so, what else d’ja do?”
(Y/n) wondered if it was something normal for monsters to talk so comfortably with someone they’d only really just met the day before. It really seemed like some ideal relationship situation from some rom-com; he got home from work, told her about his day, asked about hers… The only thing missing was an actual relationship…
She masked the feelings her internal musings brought up with the ease of practice and gestured around the room. She was good at ‘don’t rock the boat.’
“jus’ this, huh?” He asked and she nodded before pointing at the cards, indicating that she'd also played cards. “sounds like a good day ta me, but maybe ‘m jus’ lazy,” he said as he closed his eye sockets. A contented smile tilting his normal grin up. “‘m gonna try ta get a nap in before dinner. feel like joinin’ me?”
(Y/n) shook her head to answer him, knowing he could see her though his slightly open socket.
“suit yerself, sweetheart,” he told her, shifting his shoulders as he got comfortable.
He seemed to almost immediately fall asleep, soft snores coming from him, and not even reacting when she’d waved her hand in front of his face.
She went back to her card game, the weird feeling of being so comfortable around a strange man (one that had pushed her against the wall and basically rubbed against her, no less!) struck her as wrong, but she couldn't bring herself to be truly uncomfortable.
Uneasy and worried from his actions sometimes?
For sure.
Uncomfortable?
Nope.
Something brushed against and down her back, laying against her butt.
(Y/n) looked over her shoulder, seeing Sans' arm laid out behind her. She watched him closely, not wanting to miss any tell in his expression, but other than slightly rolling toward her, he still seemed asleep.
She gave a doubtful glance, but it fell to the back of her mind as she continued her game.
After a few minutes, she felt Sans rolling toward her more, his hand sliding over the bed, snaking over her thigh, wrapping around her waist and burying his face against her thigh.
Oh, yeah. He's asleep, my ass, she mentally grumbled.
She rolled her eyes and went back to her game, not entirely comfortable with this extent of touching, but she knew that some good friends got touchy and cuddled, so it wasn't some insanely strange concept to her, even if they weren't that close.
Halfway through the next round of her game, (Y/n) felt Sans' arms tighten around her, and she looked down to see him rolling over onto his stomach, putting him on the cards and into her lap, his head awkwardly pressing against her.
She tried to shift around to get rid of the discomfort of his skull pressing against her hip, and the weird kink he'd put in his neck vertebrae to do so.
Of course, with all of her edging around his head, and their shifting around, she ended up laying back with him in her lap, his skull laying on her stomach. How could this end any other possible way with her luck?
Honestly, though, with all the terrible things he could possibly do to her, that she knew of and worried about, laying with his head on her stomach hadn't even made the list.
She gave a shattered, huffing sigh that made her cough a little, but it cleared quickly.
She kept herself ready in case she was going to have to defend herself from the skeleton, but folded her arms over her chest to feel like she had at least a little cover, and resigned herself to laying there until either he "woke up," or she had to convince him to move so she could use the bathroom.
Sans tightened his arms around his sweetheart as she coughed, hating that he didn't have green magic to try and fix it instantly, but, thankfully, it quickly ended.
He tried to be subtle, not wanting to give away that he was awake, but it was so hard when all he wanted to do was nuzzle into the soft squishiness of her belly. Especially when some of her squishiest bits were against his clavicle and were tempting him to rub against them… and give them a sniff…
fuck- ya smell so fuckin' good, sweetheart… He mentally groaned to himself.
(Y/n) shifted under him, but he didn't let it disturb him; he was an expert at pretending to sleep.
"SANS-"
The skeleton on her belly jumped at the loud voice, giving a grunt of surprise.
"YOU BETTER BE DOWN HERE IN FIVE MINUTES TO EAT DINNER!!"
"paps, you fuckin' sonuvabitch," he grumbled to himself, not quite audible to (Y/n).
"welp. dinner time, doll. you joinin' us downstairs 'gain t'night?" He asked as he sat up, not leaving the bed, or her pile of cards, but off of her.
She gave him a nervous look, not wanting to be afraid, but also very afraid of the tall, loud skeleton downstairs.
"aww, c'mon sweetheart, he ain't that bad. i mean, don't get me wrong, 'e's bad, but not that kind a bad."
As strange as it was for her to trust anyone so quickly, his words kind of made her feel better about being in the same room as the taller skeleton.
She followed him downstairs, deciding that she was misreading the look on his face and posture as content and proud, as though she trusted him to be her knight in a red sweater; it was probably just self confidence.
God knew she'd never felt that much of it to know.
Sans pulled out a chair for her, but instead of waiting to push her in, he sat in the chair next to it and shifted the seat, pulling it closer to him when she sat.
(Y/n) would protest, but she really did feel safer being closer to him, and farther away from the other skeleton.
He served her a small slice of lasagna, and she knew that it was because he knew it was going to taste awful, and he didn't want to stick her with too much to eat instead of a plot to starve her.
It was a quiet dinner, much the same as the night before, with the toe of Sans' sneaker hitting the leg of her chair he was so close, and Papyrus giving her not at all hidden suspicious glares, as though he didn't think it was safe to hold a conversation in front of her.
(Y/n) took another bite of the lasagna and hid her wince.
She really should have hidden those spices earlier…
A/N: Oh Sans... there's a difference between telling Paps that he's an amazing cook and telling (Y/n) she has to stay there because there's no possible way she can get home. Also, I recently got a message from someone who had made fanart of another story I wrote and asked if I wanted to see it- uh, fuck yeah, I do! You kidding?! You were inspired by something I wrote?! I'm gonna fangirl... I love it even more because I can't draw... I guess what I'm saying is that if you do anything inspired from something I've written (art, stories, drabbles), you don't have to ask, there's a 100% chance I want to see it. And that I'll squeal.
