okay so recently The Character for me has been the hollow knight from the titular game hollow knight. i loveeeeeeeee that freak,, it has so many fucking issues and i'm obsessed. i have typed out novels about that funky bugg in a discord server w my friends bc i have been rotating it in my microwave for like a month now. actually i'm gonna put a bunch of stuff under a readmore bc i have sooooo many thoughts and feelings abt the hollow knight and their whole deal. but if you would like a tl;dr this image is pretty much what you're going to get under the readmore.

anyways these are all my rants bc i didn't wanna type them out again but holy shit. the hollow knight makes me froth at the mouth bc they are ultimately about devotion and deception and the suffocating lack of choice and personal freedom. and i like the pale king a lot too bc while there isn't a lot of concrete lore about him, he is the one who kicked the whole story off and gave the hollow knight sooooo many issues. i love the themes and i love the whole "no mind to think, no will to break, no voice to cry suffering" thing in reference to the vessels because i am of the opinion that none of the vessels were truly hollow and that the pale king's plan was always going to fail. it's the futility and the sunk cost fallacy and "no cost to great" of it all <3 and just. man. the hollow knight was doomed by the narrative the minute they made it to the top of that platform.

here are sketches of my buggs that i've been doing too. i'm still fleshing out designs and details but they've been on da mind and i had to get them onto a page before they ate all my neurons

so, i often do a lot of microwave recipes and here are some things i learned from personal experience, maybe some of them are already obvious but anyway:

microwaving eggs is very risky. yes, this is a common practice and many people stay fine usually, but there are often chances of eggs exploding in your face, even after you take it out, and it could be really fatal especially if the eggs stick to your face — ann reardon made a really good video about this

microwave in intervals, not for long hours at a stretch, mix it up if you need to when you take it out of the microwaves (like say, soup or chocolate), and put it back in there again

every microwave is different, so that's why some microwave recipes might not perfectly work out for you unless you adjust some settings

for even heating, place your food on the edge of the turntable and not the center; if your food is rotating while it's in the microwave, that ensures higher chances of even heating

if your microwave doesn't have the rotating option, then again, carefully do it yourself when you stop the microwave for intervals

also lower power, more time is a good rule of thumb too; low and slow

also for comics !! i'm currently following this handy comic reading order for helena wayne, and i'll be starting for stephanie brown afterwards!! my beloved mutual @a-bad-case-of-the-stephs gave me plenty of suggestions so i'm following their instructions to a t 🫡

how many cotl related dreams have you had by now?

Oh my god all my new followers are gonna have to get caught up to speed huh? So if I rotate something in my brain enough, the likelihood of me thinking about it as I'm falling asleep makes my chances of dreaming about it astronomically higher. Most notably, every other month or so I've had like.. a lucid dream where Shamura and I are just vibing in what seems to be their library. (This is why Pura drew me the Shamura profile picture actually.) Results have varied.

I'm just gonna copy and paste directly from my dream log document I have in the notes section of my phone.

-Shamura Lucid dreams. What have we done... Just chatting, talk about fears and shit, gave them a bubble tea (didn't go well), hug (not super comfy but it was nice anyway).. mostly just talk. They suck at jokes. They are literally so sweet and CONSTANTLY DEPRESSED BUT their presence is so comforting I don't know how else to describe it. Such a friend fr. Looked through their library.. I didn't understand anything but it looked cool but also felt like if I looked at anything wrong I'd set myself on fire by accident. Idk. most recently I talked to them about Gender Thoughts™ and just asked them how they knew they were nonbinary and they hit me with a "Well how did you know YOU were nonbinary ::)" motherfucker you are ten steps ahead of me right now. Forget the trans allegory of trying to "crack the egg." They put it in the microwave and tried to fucking explode it.

-Heket was my wife and we went swimming

-Shamura ran a Mexican restaurant, made good nachos

-Abstract dream, saw all five bishops. Just kind of observed stuff from the outside rather than interacting with them but nothing was super clear, other than them reuniting

-dream that lasted like 2 minutes, Shamura with a little Narinder. I think I was like watching an animated short tho, they weren't actually there. (Note: I still want this so bad)

-I was the Lamb and I went crusading and when I was done Leshy gave me a reward. I don't know why. I chose having a new scar (love that getting injured was my reward) and another choice was like .. the bishops had stronger weapons to fight me with?

-Kallamar (I'm pretty sure from @meatcatt's Redo AU. Great I'm dreaming about AUs of friends now.) was in his Gaming Hole™ and I went to say hi but I startled him and he like... Broke his mug or something and the noise woke me up at 4:45 in the morning.

-Choose ur starter pokémon (Bishop). They were all little and lying down on a table. I wasn't able to pick just one so I made some fried rice instead?? Also I was moving into a house with Ryan (note: my younger brother. I'm the first of 4 kids, he's the second of us)

-I was immediately transported back to 6th grade with all the knowledge I have now and started making predictions about the future that were all correct because I had lived it. One of the things I predicted was some sort of apocalypse that involved a red fungus taking over the world. All of the Bishops were responsible for this, and I distinctly remember Kallamar in a spaceship.

-Leshy disintegrated in front of me???? I think I killed him with my mind I'm SO SORRY LESHY

-Saw Shamura on 3 separate occasions on one night. One they were helping me win a competition to win a house but the house was boobytrapped and haunted and I had to get through the boobytraps to win it wait how were they helping me exactly?, second we were farming together I think in that exact house and we had like so many vegetables I couldn't fucking move and third we were selling ice cream together.

-I saw Narinder!!! Finally!! I was in some. Sermon thing. And he was giving a speech about peace for his followers. Idk (oh wait I didn't remember I had dreamt about him before)

-Had a dream that I became Heket's vessel. At the end of the dream, she turned against me and tried to reclaim her crown. I didn't see that one coming, somehow. Also, the fight took place in my parents's bathroom.

Hey y’all, I see *a lot* of videos and posts and such that explain the autistic experience (most of which is stuff I already know). But I have to ask: what is it like to be neurotypical!? How do you perceive your interests when you don’t have them rotating in your mind like a microwave 24/7? What makes you feel exhausted? What do you think about on an average day? How do you perceive multiple sounds in a way that doesn’t make your head spin or explode? How do you retain information without either becoming too obsessed with it or completely clocking out? How do you have perfect control over your volume or tone (I’m not saying it’s actually perfect; it’s just the way some neurotypical people talk to me makes me wonder if there are some sort of human notches on my vocal cords that I forgot to install)?

Okay, my questions are getting a little too specific, but you get the idea. I don’t know if any neurotypical people are actually going to see this, so fellow autistic peeps, if you know a neurotypical person that is definitely neurotypical and not secretly a neurodivergent in repression, please ask them! I’m serious, normal people are a mystery to me, and I want to know what I’m missing! Don’t get me wrong, I love being autistic, but that doesn’t stop me from being curious! 28. Do you collect anything?

Hobbies. I have more stuff for more hobbies that I've picked up for a hot second before losing interest. That said, I rotate through my hobbies pretty regularly.

Other than that, I don't really collect anything. When I was little I used to collect little ceramic animal figurines. And of course I used to collect the ubiquitous beanie babies and Pokemon cards.

34. Any pet peeves?

TOO MANY!

Talking over other people--i can be guilty of this because I suck at gauging breaks in conversation (especially on the phone), but when people just consistently plow over others I just get put off.

Not using a turn signal and any other traffic infraction. Though much of what I witness is dangerous and illegal so they probably rise to a level higher than mere pet peeve.

Standing too close while in line. gimme space!!!

Students being too loud in the common studio area. There were a few kids in another cohort who consistently shouted and whooped and hollared for extended periods. I use noise cancelling headphones and still had to turn my music up much too high just to drown them out. It's just rude to everyone else trying to work.

People who don't clean up after themselves. There's a microwave in our building which is filthy and I shudder to think how many people exploded a meal and didn't clean it up. Things like that.

I know there are more but it's 3:30am 😅
