With Bournemouth 10 cancelled tomorrow I made the effort to get up for parkrun this morning. Upton house for a change rather than Poole Park. Bumped in to a few familiar & friendly faces as to be expected. Special thanks to @icanrunthis for the encouragement about half way & allowing me to sit on the shoulder for a while as I struggled to keep the pace. Slow start as always as a little narrow, tough middle mile, but pushed the last one. Not enough to go sub 30, but it is hard course & fairly close so happy with that. Busy day ahead, kids parties, shopping etc.! Trail shoes are still not the most comfortable, but need to couple more runs in them before larmer in a couple of weeks, last year I broke at nine miles, this year planning to be smiling at the finish. Brrrr..

Wednesday 8th February 2017 Off out again tonight whilst my daughter was at swimming and blimey it was a chilly one. Had my ears covered with a head band, running gloves on and top zipped up tight but 10 minutes in to the run and I was roasting so took my gloves off and loosened my zip. As I ran past an elderly gentlemen on the high street, he looked at me and said "brrrr" in a tone which was either pity or complete lunacy (on my part), I can't decide which. 34 minutes for 5km tonight which is pretty good for me so pleased with that. What's more I even managed to persuade my husband to get off the sofa and come out with me.

Au début de cette semaine, la rédaction sportive de Notélé (TV régionale du Hainaut occidental, là d'où je viens), m'appelle pour savoir si nous serons présents sur la prochaine manche du Challenge ACRHO. Objectif : réaliser un portrait de la Team RunningGeek. Je bats le rappel des troupes et, une fois acquise la participation du "noyau dur", je confirme le rendez-vous au journaliste. J'avais prévu de courir avec André @thepeacerunner ce samedi, qu'à cela ne tienne, c'est l'occasion de l'emmener "sur mes terres". La course du jour est le Jogging des Marbriers, à Basècles. Une de mes ACRHO préférées, avec juste ce qu'il faut de dénivelé et de chemins, et un ravitaillement à la Diôle offert par la Brasserie des Carrières à quelques centaines de mètres de l'arrivée. Kaïs, Kast, Quentin, Jean-Jacques sont déjà là (en fait, c'est moi qui suis en retard). Émilie a fait la route pour apporter une touche féminine à l'équipe. Interview, échauffement sous l'oeil de la caméra, photo de groupe et c'est parti pour près de 15 kilomètres à travers la campagne. Le parcours est agréable, sec, les conditions sont idéales. Chacun trouve son rythme, 12km/h pour ma part, consigne du coach. Je cours avec Émilie jusqu'à l'arrivée, où le speaker annonce qu'elle rentre dans le top 10 féminin. Yeah! C'est le moment de retrouver toute l'équipe autour d'une Diôle et de célébrer, avec un peu d'avance, l'anniversaire de Quentin. Le moment de terminer ce récit par quelques remerciements : merci à Notélé qui a fourni le prétexte à cette réunion, merci à la Team, merci à Madeleine qui a permis à Kaïs de courir avec nous, merci à mes parents qui ont fait le déplacement pour nous encourager, merci à Michael de @time_to_run_tournai pour la barre Overstim qui m'a servi de repas de midi et merci aux organisateurs de l'ACRHO, sur le pont dix mois par an pour nous offrir de belles opportunités de retrouvailles. Happy with that, first sub 30 5km for what seem like forever! No running at the weekend due to the storm & race cancelled. First outing since Wednesday, almost a week! Itchy feet as flew out the blocks with a fast first mile. Tried to hold it, but very busy day at work & knackered! I rush around to get out straight away after getting home as it was still light, but getting changed, stretching my feet & glutes meant is was dark when I left the house! Longer run planned for Thursday & parkrun Saturday. Might have a long run Sunday afternoon after girls have been to rugby, but not sure yet! Out so a short run this morning. I wasn’t feeling it, a little hungover. Only three beers & a post dinner drambuie. Very good three course dinner as out for ‘date night’ but a late night. Really don’t drink much these days, doesn’t take much to leave me with a fuzzy head in the morning. Foot a bit achey, but okay when running. No chiropractor yesterday as planned because train was cancelled & he could get in to his office! The plan was four plus miles, but after feeling like I might puke for the most of the run, the picture of the boat crashed on the foreshore seemed to sum my running recently up well. Nice view from the old bridge to. Had to stop for a tinkle, when I wasn’t feeling like I might be sick, I was bursting to go! Good news though the old toilets on the quay by the harbour masters office have been reopened. Not to get too political, but I think the third set of public toilets the-open since the council was changed in May & we no longer have Torys ruling the roost!
