Church of the Mother of God, the Queen of the World in Radom, Poland. The architect, Wojciech Gęsiak, said: The idea of the building? It wasn’t difficult. It was the time when “Solidarity” (polish independent union against the government, which reached over 9.5 million members) began. I was one of them. We were young, we thought that we will get back freedom in a moment. The form of the church was according to the atmosphere, which was in the country. © Igor Snopek

15th-century wooden church in Binarowa, Poland [source of pictures: 1,2] - UNESCO World Heritage Site, part of the Wooden Churches of Southern Lesser Poland route. First wooden church at this exact place was built in the year 1400 and is mentioned by the medieval chronicler Jan Długosz. Considering the historical and artistic values of the church and its interiors, it is one of the most valuable and well-preserved wooden churches in Central Europe.
