HOME COOKING // Last Saturday’s meal prep: Grilled sambal skate with red onions, okra and curry leaves; Curry Red Emperor cutlet with eggplant, tomatoes, tofu puffs. Sambal sauce was from @suku_freo - so spicy and good. Skate was purchased from @atlanticseafoodperth in Northbridge. Wanted to get banana leaves for a more authentic look but my local grocer only sell it frozen by the pack - there were at least 20 leaves per pack - would have been surplus to needs so my sensibility won over “nice presentation”. It doesn’t look too bad now, does it? Night 3 - 21 May

Today we had a whole office lunch in the new office location. Renovations are ongoing, so it was a standing affair, with folding tables and pizza. Met lots of new faces, in particular the other BAs at my client. They seem like lots of fun :) It was someone's birthday so Catherine (office "mum") bought a Malaysian layer cake. Super tasty and so addictive...I had sooooo many slices.

After lunch, Umar polled everyone on their colour preferences for the walls. In typical ThoughtWorks fashion, everyone just started shouting their opinions (and I'll admit...myself included :P). Umar finally got everyone under control - we were like a bunch of schoolchildren. Really excited for the move next week! Though I guess I won't be spending much time there because I'll be at the client site...

For dinner I met up with Pete C (XD from Sydney office who is in SIngapore for conference) and Gabriel, a marketing guy/BA from Porto Alegre office. Gabriel's parents were visiting so they came too. We went to Lau Pa Sat. The white gazebo like building that holds all the stalls is under renovation so in the meantime they've closed down part of the street and the stalls and table are out there.

It's quite amusing being forced by one of the vendors to sit at the tables near their stall. There's 5 stalls in a row all proclaiming to sell the BEST satay. So cheap...SG$0.60 per skewer. We got the 80 skewers for $58 deal :P We also got murtabak and sambal stingray from a neighbouring stalll. Soooo tasty!!!
