in fact, if you're writing and want to convey that the person doesn't speak french too well, you have them misgender inanimate objects.

there's no rules to determine a thing's gender, not even vibes; in fact, the opposite is true: for native speakers, which gender a thing is will then color the vibes that they associate with that thing. this is why i will forever associate spiders with cunning and motherood.

exhibit a: the hand on the chin when buck opens the door. he's thought about this so carefully you can tell from the moment he enters the scene. and i don't even mean the kiss. i don't think tommy knew that was going to happen until approx. five seconds before it did. but he wants to get this conversation right.

exhibit b: the fucking breathlessness when he says "we can talk" (yes we're still not even in the loft yet). like that is the breathlessness of a man seeing whom he assumes is his emotionally unavailable big boy crush and realising he's going to have to smooth things over between him and the man most likely making him unavailable to tommy. (it's also just tommy seeing big beefy tank buckley and getting a little flustered methinks)

exhibit c (moving actually into the loft now): obsessed, deeply deeply obsessed with the way buck removes the obstacle of the kitchen island between them and tommy immediately crosses his arms over his chest like he's trying to put it back between them subtly because he still doesn't think he's allowed to Want.

exhibit d: the way he literally cannot look at buck as buck starts moving in closer quite literally makes me want to rip my hair out. like baby, you're allowed to look i promise, i swear.

exhibit e: the breakout of the laugh to full seriousness as he commits to the "i'm renowned for my fake mouth static" is so special to me because. i have done that. i have committed to a bit that was perhaps a bit too revealing/suggestive with my heart pounding as a way of testing the waters. and then the relieved amusement of his "cmon hey" when buck plays into it.

exhibit f: the way tommy looks at buck when buck's giving his little "threw in with us no hesitation" speech is so. that man is ANCHORING his eyes to buck's eyes. he's still not allowed to look, he is being respectful, he is overcompensating, he is FIGHTING for his life.

exhibit g: his tiny little smile when buck mentions the tour. you wanted to see me? 🥺

exhibit h: the fucking recoil when buck says he wanted to get to know him. the disbelief. the oh. the maybe i can have this.

exhibit i: the slow drop of his smile the more time buck spends mentioning eddie (which btw why is that line so long fuck off buck stand up!!) thinking oh never mind.

exhibit j: "i could teach you" with that bashful little shrug of his shoulders. i could teach you if you'd let me.

exhibit k: the realisation that sinks in after buck says about flying lessons. he wants to spend time with me, he's moving closer. oh shit, i'm allowed, i'm allowed, i'm allowed. the seriousness. the i have to make him understand i want him. the first time he lets his eyes drop to buck's lips.

exhibit l: my attention? one last check. one last check just to make sure. i can want this, i can want him.

exhibit m: his little kind of glassy-eyed smile between "i did maim my best friend" and "my sister". he is not listening to a word buck says. he is making a decision. a terrifying decision, but he's already made it.

exhibit n (typed through tears lol): the way he squeezes his eyes shut as he pulls away. buck is opening his but tommy squeezes his shut harder. he doesn't want to see the disgust on buck's face. he's bracing for rejection. he's hoping, hoping, hoping.

exhibit o: the breathlessness of "like that?" please tell me that was okay, please tell me that's allowed, please please please. the clench of his jaw as he waits for buck's answer, the slight nod like he's confirming something to himself.

exhibit p: the smile when it sinks in that buck wants this. the smile before the immediate "so that was okay?" just needing that verbal confirmation for buck, yeah, but also for himself.

and then for me it's the complete shift in tommy's demeanour after buck confirms it's okay. he goes from this quiet, hesitant, reserved tommy to this confident, flirty, little bit sensual tommy the moment he's allowed. cross town traffic 🫦 came in a car this time 😏. it's just such a wild switch up but it makes so much sense because the nerves have gone. he's allowed to want. (jesus got halfway through the alphabet sorry)

I’m kinda imagining Buck and Eddie in bunk beds, but one of them lies about being afraid of heights and instead of idk swapping beds the one in the bottom bunk is like “okay we can share” and so we have these two huge men sharing a twin mattress and they’ve never been happier

oh my god the potential of buddie bunk beds (see: top bunker (eddie)'s big yaoi hand dangling over the edge and bottom bunker (buck) staring in hornyawe) but this is so fucking cute. like. buck going on top maybe because he knows eddie likes being close to the door but then getting a little freaked out when the bed wobbles as he climbs up and maybe panicking that he's too heavy for the bunk beds and it'll collapse on top of eddie and eddie's listening to him twist and turn like. dude is there an earthquake or are you just the world's most restless sleeper? and buck's like. sorry it's just-it's just high up here it's dumb forget i said anything night eddie sorry for keeping you up. and eddie sighs and goes. buck get down here. and buck's all okay so we're gonna swap but eddie just makes as much room as possible for him to slide into and they're all pressed up against each other and they both fall asleep in seconds. the 118 find out about the bunk bed arrangement and chim jokingly asks: sooooo who's the top and who's the bottom? and they both say. bottom. at the exact same time. and ravi quits right then and there.

I read your Bloodline's little headcanons, they're so adorable! When I read the Dominik Mysterio mention, I couldn't help but wonder what your take on little Dom is. I headcanon him as a regressor as well!

(I’m up way too late and this inspired me. Lol. Hope you like it.)

-I think that Dom didn’t know he was a regressor until he joined the Judgement Day.

-He was always dealing with his stress going non-verbal and feeling small but didn’t know what it meant.

-Until he heard Rhea call herself “Mami” for the first time and it hits him hard. The comfort of her speaking for him (with permission) and wanting to stand up for him. But more than that takes care of him.

-That’s what he needs.

-Rhea would be the first person he confided in about it, then Damien and Finn.

-He’s a total Mami’s boy. (I had to)

-Being able to be little with the Judgement Day helps him a lot.

-Being a wrestler is really taxing, especially being a heel, he’s actually a nice person, so having to be mean ll the time can be hard.

-He definitely is in the toddler age range, 2 or 3 to 6 at the oldest usually. He doesn’t often baby regress unless he’s really stressed or sick. And he can sometimes middle regress, but it’s mostly those younger ages.

-He’s rambunctious, a trouble maker, he’s super active. Big on outdoor activities.

-Rhea calls him her “baby bat” sometimes and he just adores it.

-With Mami Rhea, Papi Damien, and Da or Dada Finn he feels the best he ever has.

-If he’s not doing anything for work he’s pretty much regressed.

-He was nervous for anyone else to know but they are all accepting of him.

-He has a special Little Space Backpack, it’s purple and black and has his name on it, that he brings with him every day, with a few toys , his blanket, his special Stuffie (it’s a shark that his Papi bought for him), and his favorite Paci so he can relax and regress behind the scenes when he needs to.

-He thinks he’s the luckiest little boy in the whole wide world.

Adding this part because I wanna write how he and Bunny became friends, too.

Route A

-He was the first person to realize that Bunny was a little too.

-She and Roman had had their dynamic already, but were more low key about it, due to her shyness.

-And one day when the two of them wound up hanging out semi-alone backstage they kinda just regressed together.

-He saw her plush shark keychain and asked about it and she began to just info-dump about that particular shark, a hammerhead because they are my favorite too, and her talking slowly morphed into her little babbling.

-The two of them just spent the entire time just talking about sharks, being found by Rhea and Roman later while they colored in some of his coloring books that he had in a backpack in the Judgement Day clubhouse.

-Rhea often babysits Bunny or has her over for play dates with Dom. It’s a monthly thing now.

-Little Buddies 4 Life!

Route B

-Bunny, like Dom, is pretty much regressed if she’s not required to be big.

-He’d only ever seen her middle regressed before though, so he just assumed she was a kinda childish big.

-Until he hears her talking to Sami in a decidedly more little voice, calling him Baba.

-He asks her what it means and she shyly explains it’s like calling him Dada…but special because it’s in Arabic.

-Dom insists on the two of them playing with the toys he had in the clubhouse, with her Baba’s permission of course. (She has a little bag with her too)

-He drags her there and proudly announces that Bunny is his best friend now (I said he was rambunctious) and they play together for hours until they have to go home. Hey isn’t this how all introverts end up with their extrovert besties anyway?

-Mami and Baba promising their babies they can play together again soon.

-Again, Little Buddies 4 Life!

Seth occupies a weird space for me right now because I feel like I just don't know him well enough yet? I do adore him but it's this weird thing where I don't really know him for him - he's Becky's wife, he's Bron's dog trainer, he's Roman's haunting specter, he's KO and Sami's lifelong friend - but i don't have enough of a grasp on his psyche to really hyperfixate on him the way he clearly deserves

I am so unwell about this man. he's the center of the universe. montreal's personal apology to me. I can and will commit crimes for him. what with wrestling occupying this odd liminal space between fiction and reality, and therefore between rpf and live action fandom, I try to be careful not to armchair diagnose, but the crux of it is that everything about him radiates neurodivergence in a way that is deeply, painfully familiar and makes me feral with love and protectiveness. i just want him to be loved and recognized and occasionally tortured in a way that indicates that he is loved and recognized by his tormentor. because wrestling

okay i’m so glad you didn’t think that sami would turn heel last monday (or anytime soon) because i trust your judgement on this and i cannot stand the thought of that man going to the dark side. he’s too pure.

I appreciate you! However, I think Sami getting back in touch with his heelish tendencies is a very exciting prospect and one that fans of the character and his dynamic with Jey (platonic or not) should look forward to - I'll tell you why under the break because I started typing and all of a sudden I was several paragraphs in oof ✋😩

Firstly, it's counterproductive to think of any wrestling character as "too good"" or "too evil" - anyone worth scrutinizing has shades of grey and is therefore susceptible to positive AND negative influences - be those coming from within themselves or from outside sources. Pro-Wrestling is a medium where storytelling is largely told via conflict, whether that comes from betrayal, friendly competition, manipulation, etc feuding is how relationships deepen and how characters grow and evolve.

Sami and Jey are already way outside the norm in the sense that they've kept contact on screen for years since their feud ended just to keep reminding us how close they are and to reap the benefits of a great storyline by simply giving them 20-30 seconds of screen time on a regular basis to just be cute and pop the crowd - this simply does not happen in WWE. Name me 2 other characters who constantly interact backstage across the span of years without being in a feud/faction/tag team - it's just not a thing they like to waste time on (which sucks and robs us of depth but that's a whole other rant). Now, for and for as nice as it is to see them support each other and maintain the friendly status quo for so long, this is still wrestling and if we want their relationship to gain new layers, worthwhile conflict is something we SHOULD want, as long as it is well written and well timed (I know the performance aspect will be stellar, so that part doesn't worry me).

They got to the point they did - a fan favorite duo with a tremendously underrated amount of iconic moments and dialogues exchanged - BY WORKING THROUGH CONFLICT. The fact that Jey was the heel for most of their feud and was pushed into reconnecting with his better self by a babyface Sami "who saw the good in him the whole time and never gave up on him" should honestly have everyone salivating at the prospect of them feuding again with the roles reversed. Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't want to see Jey be the one to help pull Sami back into the light when he comes dangerously close to losing himself??? To give Jey the opportunity to cut amazingly emotional promos like this again?? That's what shipping gold is made of, come on!! Think of the parallels! The call-backs! The devastatingly sad looks of longing making a comeback but now with 3 years of baggage to give it 10x more depth!! THE EVENTUAL REUNION ONCE THEY'VE MADE PEACE ONCE AGAIN AND ARE BACK TOGETHER AND THEIR BOND IS STRONGER THAN EVER FROM HAVING SURVIVED A WHOLE NEW SET OF TRIALS AND HARDSHIPS??? I understand some people don't want to see their faves have conflict, but that is inevitable in wrestling and it's how iconic dynamics are cemented.

Let's also not forget Sami was a full heel for a LONG time, so there's a whole catalogue of past tendencies and behaviors to pull from. Back then, manipulation and a disheartening win/loss record were the trigger for him turning heel, not any dark impulses of his own (strong reason why I'll always argue he's a natural babyface), so should he get back in touch with his heelish side, I'm adamant that the most in-character way to do it is to again have others dripping venom in his ear and a sustained string of losses - both of which are already at play (shout-out to Karrion, Seth and Drew especially, dem nasty haters). Hell, the fact that the ball has been rolling for a while on these two points and Sami has firmly remained good speaks volumes to how much stronger of a character he is now, which is wonderful - and again - the reason why we need to put these characters through situations™ and have them struggle to overcome them.

At the end of the day, I have very VERY little trust in WWE to handle anything correctly EVER, but I do trust the performers to take what they're given and elevate it to the best it can be. I know there's still a whole goldmine of storytelling between Jey and Sami to explore, which says a lot considering they've been in each other's close orbit for 3 years now and there's still so much more we can do - in a perfect world we get a great, emotionally rich feud between them, a satisfying pay-off with them reuniting once more and FINALLY that tag run they kept teasing last Summer and Jey has been yapping about in interviews for aaaages - give that man his lil treat!
