Pyeon sang-wook x GN! reader
Warnings: mentions of blood and wounds, mentions of death, a tiny kiss at the end.
Notes: thanks to my pooks @il-i-sam for helping me edit this, I wrote this at school and it was really rushed and had grammatical mistakes! You're amazing MWAH MWAH MWAH!

Pyeon sang-wook was always a man of few words and actions. He always believed relationships to be unimportant. Especially now.
Sometimes, he didn't want friendships either. He liked being alone, at least most of the time.
There had been times when he'd thought of getting up and joining the others during "dinner" but he was afraid. Afraid of what they saw him as. A monster, a murderer.
So even if he actually wanted a friendship (or more), he didn't have anywhere to start. Well, that's not entirely true. But again, he was afraid. Of what? He wasn't sure either.
But he knew that you'd be his starting point. Though he didn't know how long he had, since he never showed any signs of accepting your silent invitation to a friendship. You'd been there for him since he joined the group, everyone was afraid of him, made remarks about his scars.
But you didn't. You never said anything bad about him, he even heard you defend him once. You'd defended him multiple times. He just happened to have heard you once.
..
"Oh my god... I can't stand seeing his face. It looks so scary... Who knows what it's from?" The lady with the dog had said.
He'd heard her, but just as he was about to get up and leave, he heard you too.
"With all due respect. You don't know what it's from. And you shouldn't judge. You're a full grown adult woman. And yet you still make assumptions based on someone's appearance." It was what you had said to her.
He left after hearing that. A small smile formed on his face, which he forced down after realising.
..
Right now it was dinner time, he had stopped eating with everyone a while ago. He didn't mind not eating, but you did. You'd always get him a plate and find him, wherever he was.
He was sitting in the grave room, staring at the ground, when you walked in. You walked over and kneeled down in front of him, handing him his food. You had learned not to try to start a conversation, he wasn't much of a talker. You noticed.
You sat by him, leaving enough space for him to be comfortable. And started to eat.
Imagine your surprise when you heard his voice. Directed towards you. "Why don't you hate me? Like everyone else. I don't need pity."
You shook your head and moved closer. "I don't pity you. I know you can handle yourself. I just cannot stand seeing people be treated in a way they don't deserve. And you don't deserve to be seen as a scary murderer. Even if you don't think that."
He raised a brow at your words, still not looking at you. "I murdered someone. With a hammer right in front of you." He pointed out the obvious.
You turned fully towards him, placing your food down and sitting crisscross. "Most people here are scared of you because they believe the man you killed was innocent."
Now interested in where this was going, he turned his upper body to face you. "And you don't?" He questioned.
"I've lived here since I was little. I remember when he moved in, when my mum sent me to bring him a cake as a welcome gift, and when I found his door open and walked inside that room..." You hoped he'd understand; you hoped he'd seen the room, and you didn't have to explain.
And based on his reaction, he did. His eyes widened—the most obvious showcase of emotions you've ever seen from him.
"I've never run out of a room faster in my life." You chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. But he just shook his head.
He was glad someone understood him. You stood up. Stretching. "You should eat." You pointed out before going towards the door, but before you exited, you turned back. "Oh, and if you ever need anyone to talk to, it shouldn't be too hard to find me."
..
About a week passed, and he did talk to you almost every day. Even though they were just general chats, it felt good for him to be able to talk freely to someone again.
Right now, you sat there, talking about what you did before this whole ordeal.
Well, more like him hearing you talk. But he didn't mind; he loved listening to your stories.
But your talking was cut short by a terrible screech coming from the hall, accompanied by Su Yeong's screaming.
Immediately, you stood up and rushed over, seeing Mr. Han shooting at the spider like monster that was chasing the young girl. You rushed and picked her up. "Come on!"
You shouted to Mr. Han, who followed you as fast as he could in his wheelchair.
You ran down a ramp, but Mr. Han's wheelchair got stuck, and he fell off of it. You placed Su-Yeong down and told her to go into the room where you previously were with Sang-Wook.
She wanted to help Mr. Han, but you assured her that you'd help him, and she rushed off into the room. You heard her crying to Sang-Wook. Asking for his help.
You spun around on your heel and bent down, helping Mr. Han back into his wheelchair. You ushered him inside the room as well. As soon as he entered the room, the monster quickly jumped on you, stabbing one of its legs into your torso.
You screamed out in pain, but you fought back as much as you could. But the pain was unbearable. You were about to pass out, and the last thing you saw was Cha Hyun-Soo coming to your rescue, and you heard Su-Yeong screaming, everyone else gasping, and Sang-Wook calling out to you. Then it all went black.
Once you regained consciousness, you saw Yu-ri sitting next to you, patching you up.
"Oh, you're up. How are you feeling?" She asked as she finished up her work on your wound.
"Could be better. What happened?" She patted your shoulder, told you about how Hyun-Soo had killed the monster, and assured you that everyone was safe.
You let out a sigh of relief, closing your eyes for a moment before opening them again. But you were met with a different face.
Sang-wook was sitting in Yu-ri's place, and you heard the door close. He looked genuinely worried, which made you smile and sit up. With his help, you managed to rest your back on the wall behind you.
"What were you thinking, huh? You could've died." He didn't sound angry at all. You simply placed a hand on his arm and answered.
"I could have, yes. But I would've been fine with it as long as Su-Yeong and Mr. Han didn't." He groaned at your response and sat next to you on the makeshift bed. Placing his hands on either side of you.
"You might have been okay with it. But I wouldn't." You went to speak, but he hushed you. "Listen to me. Never do something that stupid again."
You smirked and leaned closer. "And why do you care?" He scowled at you slightly. And without a verbal answer, he placed his lips on yours.
You were taken aback; you didn't expect it at all. But you weren't complaining. You've been spending a lot of time together. You would be lying if you said you hadn't developed some kind of feeling for the man.
"Is that a good enough reason for me to care?" He asked. He didn't have his usual cold and emotionless demeanour this time. He looked genuinely concerned, worried, and happy at the same time.
"It is." You said, and hugged the man.
This was an outcome you wouldn't have expected at all. Not the bad kind, though.

masterlist
He’d been too focused on watching his cigarette smoke make designs in the air to notice you’d been standing at the bottom of the stairs for some time. He sat on the top step with his legs spread, grimacing. Then again, he always had some sort of a frown on his face. Like he was constantly deep in thought. Except this time, he actually was.
Sangwook stiffened at your whistle. He finally noticed you standing at the bottom step, arms crossed and looking up at him unexpectedly.
“You must be pretty deep in thought to not notice I’ve been standing here,” you said, head tilting to the side as if to examine him further.
He looked down at you, unimpressed. You looked small from where he was sitting.
When he didn’t end up answering, you pressed your lips together in frustration. You hadn’t known him for a long time, but you had almost died together on numerous occasions. You learned his tell pretty quickly.
You climbed the remaining steps and took your seat at his side like usual, dusting off your legs and folding your hands together in your lap.
“So,” you said casually. “Are you hiding from me?”
He quickly sucked in the remainder of his cigarette before dropping it on the step below him, smudging it out with his shoe. You watched him do this with some sort of innate fascination - he didn’t like how you always watched him like that. Like you were expecting some grand maneuver, or something.
Eventually he realized that the silence was too overbearing for even him. He’d always been the listener between the two of you. He almost laughed at the realization. He’d become uncomfortable with the silence he used to rely on. It seems like it had been that way ever since the two of you had met.
“There’s nothing wrong,” he said. He seemed to hesitate before adding, “I’m not hiding from you.”
“I hope that’s true,” you continued. “Then again… you’re not a good liar.”
Sangwook huffed, slightly embarrassed at how you knew him so well already. “You think you know me so well when we’ve only known each other for such a short time.”
You sighed and bumped your shoulder with his. “Even now, you’re being more prickly. So that means I’m right.” You looked at him expectedly.
Another minute of silence. This time, Sangwook was determined not to break his resolve.
You stretched your foot out in front of you, if anything to distract you from the awkward tension. “I don’t think you’ll tell me what’s wrong,” you admitted. “And I don’t really want to ask.”
So don’t, he bit back his words.
You contemplated for a moment. What kind of words could you say to a man like him without… scaring him off? You chuckled dryly at the thought of it. You two had faced a handful of grotesque, disturbing monsters and yet the thing to scare him would be vulnerability. That was okay - it scared you too. It’s why you wouldn’t ask.
“Do you think…” you started, biting the inside of your cheek. “If none of this happened. I mean, if monsters didn’t show up and it wasn’t the end of the world as we know it…” You hesitated before continuing. “Do you think if you saw me on the street, you’d notice?”
He turned to you, confused, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“I mean if we met under different circumstances,” you continued. Your demeanor seemed relaxed, but in reality, you wanted to hit yourself for even bringing it up. “Do you think we would’ve met?”
Sangwook turned away from you then, regretting that he smudged out his cigarette. Now his hands had nothing to do. “...No. We wouldn’t have.”
You frowned.
“We would never find ourselves in the same place,” he explained.
“...What do you mean?” You asked.
“You…” He didn’t know exactly how to say what he was thinking. “You’re too pretty.”
A smile grew on your face slowly. Then suddenly, you laughed- maybe in astonishment. “What?”
“Don’t laugh,” he chided, but more so in a playful manner than a strict one.
“I’m not!” You cleared your throat, biting back your chuckle. “I’m not. I just… wasn’t expecting that. We wouldn’t have met because I’m too pretty?”
“Yes,” he replied simply.
Another moment of silence passed between you.
“...How would that mean we wouldn’t have met?”
He shifted his sitting position. His hands felt clammy - he shouldn’t have said anything at all. But then again, you had the tendency to disarm him at times. “Because it’s true,” he doubled down. “You sure as hell wouldn’t be found anywhere near a construction site.”
You looked at him in confusion.
Sangwook shook his head with finality. “We wouldn’t have met.”
You took your bottom lip between your teeth and shrugged. “I don’t know,” you chuckled awkwardly. “I’m pretty good with a hammer.”
He turned and looked at you then - really looked at you. He watched as your eyes widened at his intense gaze. How you sort of seemed to lean towards him unconsciously, trusting. You waited for him to say something but nothing came to his mind. Everything he wanted to say was right in front of him.
But who was he to admit that?
“It’s useless to talk about things like that,” he said. “It’s wishful thinking.”
“I thought you liked me because of my optimism,” you said slowly, trying to lighten the mood but unable to keep the disappointment from your tone. “Do you really think that?” You asked, voice quiet. “That we’re really so different?”
He didn’t answer.
You huffed and looked away. “That’s really surprising. We’ve seen each other covered in sweat and blood, and you’re still thinking about status…” You picked at your fingernails. “You’ve seen what I can do. I’ve seen what you can do. Isn’t that what really matters?” You didn’t even care you were being a bit hypocritical. You thought he knew you better than that. Or - that you knew him better than that.
Sangwook couldn’t think of an argument for what you had just said, even if he tried. He just stared at you in surprise.
Suddenly, you pushed yourself up from where you were sitting. “I’m sorry for bothering you…” You didn’t really mean it. And he knew that.
Bother me more, he wanted to say. Bother me all the time.
“But I hope you know…” you started to say. The way the sun was setting made you look like you were glowing. It made Sangwook’s chest feel tight. “..That I would’ve noticed you before all of this. Even if it were just in passing.”
He watched as you turned away and descended the stairs. He didn’t follow you, or call out to you. Because that’s not the kind of man he was. And you weren’t his.
Even if you thought you were.

you overheard him declining the nurse who offered to treat his wounds. rudely declining her.
it takes a rude woman to deal with a rude man like him so you approached them. “give me those” you demanded.
handing the kit to you, she then walked away leaving the two of you. “we don’t need another corpse to bury. so take your damn shirt off”
with your cold look and voice, he sighed and took it off. resulting you gasping slightly as you observe the tape wrapped around his shoulder with dried blood in it”
“what on earth is this? are you psycho or what” you sighed, grabbing a scissors from the medkit, you cut the tape and thrown it in a bin beside you.
hearing his hiss as you cleaned the wound with a cotton you had soaked with alcohol, “a man who taped his wound so disgustingly can feel pain huh?”
you smirked hearing him groan in annoyance. “just treat it” he said. “fine” you rolled your eyes before continuing to clean the wound.
finally, you covered it with gauze. “there, old man” finishing it off with a tape that will secure the gauze.
“come here again for tomorrow, so i can change the gauze. i doubt our wonderful nurse would want to deal with your rude ass” you smiled at him, standing up and getting ready to leave.
you felt him grab your wrist, “thanks…” muttering.

“damn old man can’t even thank me properly” you pouted, “you’re welcome” you patted his head and walked away.

Pyeon Sang-wook x reader
In the dimly lit corridors of the apartment building, Pyeon Sang-wook often found solace in the shadows. However, amidst the chaos and the monstrous transformations, a different kind of turmoil brewed within him – an unfamiliar emotion that echoed through the chambers of his conflicted heart.
One day, as he encountered you, a spark ignited in his eyes. Your kindness, your warmth, it pierced through the darkness that had become his reality. Yet, a fear lingered beneath the surface – the fear that someone as extraordinary as you could never have the same feelings growing within him.
Late one evening, he found himself alone with you, the soft glow of a flickering lantern casting a gentle ambiance. The vulnerability in his eyes betrayed the fears that haunted him. "I've always been the monster," he confessed, his voice a hesitant murmur.
You looked at him with genuine understanding, a kindness that further fueled his trepidation. "You're not a monster to me," you reassured, your sincerity reaching the depths of his tortured soul.
As the conversation unfolded, Pyeon Sang-wook's defenses crumbled. He shared the fragments of his past, the darkness that had consumed him, and the unexpected light that you brought into his life. With each word, he couldn't shake the fear that you, too, would be repulsed by the monster within.
"I see you, Pyeon Sang-wook, the person beyond the shadows. And I like what I see you're not a monster your human just like me," you confessed, your gaze unwavering. Cupping his face in your hands leaning up and giving him a kiss which surprised both of you. Face turning red as you pulled away.
In that moment, something shifted within him. The fear of rejection transformed into a tentative hope, a realization that maybe, just maybe, someone could accept him for who he truly was. As the night unfolded, Pyeon Sang-wook allowed himself to believe in the possibility of love

Ui-myeoung laughs as the pathetic ness of the situation he’s the only one that knows about your little golden hour. He knew this was gonna be way different though.
Hyunsu squeezed your body in anger before picking you up and putting you with the group which made Eunyoo instantly grabbed you making sure your okay. Your not breathing or moving making her instantly worry.
“Hey ___ everything gonna be alright, okay honeybun?” She started tucking your hair behind your ear. you choked up blood as you tried to speak. You wish you could comfort them to bring comfort and say everything is gonna be okay and we’ll get pass this.

Everyone in the group gasp as Yeong-su cried out to you, he tried running to you but his sister held him back. His cries made your heartbreak.
You wanted to go over there and hug him but your a monster now and your head was just spinning it was making you loose control.
White wings appeared from your back as you pulled away from Eunyoo.
You felt an urge to fly and that’s what you did, You flew towards the sky stuck in your mindset. You didn’t hear anyone called your name.
Especially Hyunsu the moment he lost his memories all he remembers is just you. And when he saw you fly he tried to follow but people he didn’t know held him back. All he wanted to do is be with you and follow where ever your going.
Sang-wook found you and he helped you control your wings and abilities. Apparently you can be within the light and blend in.
Sang-wook complement you multiple times with the gift. You monster wasn’t bad either it was just another version of you but was more twisted and less understood. Like a fallen angel per say.
Until one day he said something unexpected. “Angel how would you like to save you little fiancé?”
That alone made you excited so when you both hijack the army vehicle. Hyunsu took a moment to realize it was you. You look so different, your hair was now medium length and very much waxy and your outfit was like an apocalypse outfit which suit you.
He hugged you tight. he gave you multiple butterfly kisses on your face. “I missed you so much, I was gonna give up” He mumbled in your neck keeping you close.
“Yeah we know” Sang-wook said sarcastically.
“Sangwook?” Hyunsu questioned.
Making you instantly agree with Sangwook “Baby you were gonna give up all our covers. We’re all trying to stay hidden from the government” You said looking at him sternly.
You were honestly so angry and maybe he could tell because your eyes should’ve been white but he seemed to ignore it and bury his face into your neck almost like he’s smelling your scent for Comfort.
“I can’t believe you tried to turn yourself in” You mumbled as he hummed in agreement.
Sangwook continued driving until Hyunsu came back to his senses. He couldn’t trust him, he could definitely trust you but not him.
So they started fighting and you of course stayed out of it because that’s your fiancé and mentor you can never choose sides between the two but when you knew it was getting to real you blend in with the light for your sake.
You watched at the vehicle crash with another with military people. You stepped down, stepping over dead bodies and not so dead bodies.
“___!!!” You turned around to see Hyunsu lifting you up and spinning you around in circles making you laugh. He peppered kisses on your face leaving hickeys on your neck before finally kissing your lips.
You missed moments like these.
“Listen, i’ll need you to hide just in case the military comes” He whispered gripping your thighs making you nod in agreement.
You stretch your wings out your back as he let go making you fly blending into the sunlight
“I’ll see you again My love, I promise…” He whispers before going to deal with Sangwook.

An Echo of Melancholy
Ji Chang wook x fem!reader
The reader has a shy personality in this story

..................................................................................
The lights of Seoul sparkled in the darkness like scattered stars, but in the auditorium where y/n's fan meeting was taking place, another kind of light captivated hearts. y/n, a actress and singer, walked gently onto the stage, greeted by applause as warm as it was contrasting to her reserved demeanor.
She wore a simple midnight-blue dress, her braids framing a face of delicate beauty. Her shy smile and measured gestures reflected a modest, almost elusive personality. Yet, whenever she spoke or sang, she captivated everyone, as if her voice touched their souls directly.
Among the crowd, a man observed with disarming intensity. Ji Chang Wook, the renowned 37-year-old South Korean actor, sat silently, hidden among her fans. Accustomed to being the center of attention, he found himself feeling strangely vulnerable in her presence. Ever since he had stumbled upon her melancholic voice by chance, he had been unable to think of anything else.
The event was in full swing, and the fans, united in enthusiasm, begged y/n to perform one of her most iconic songs: Whispered Scars.
y/n hesitated, playing with the microphone in her hands.
— "Wouldn’t you prefer something more cheerful?" she asked with a slightly nervous smile, provoking laughter throughout the room.
But the fans persisted. She finally gave in, a faint sigh escaping her lips.
— "All right. But don’t say I didn’t warn you."
She sat down on a stool, her fingers brushing the microphone as if to steady herself. The first notes of the piano filled the room, and as soon as she began singing, the auditorium fell into complete silence.
The melody was gentle and melancholic, and each word carried a universal pain. Whispered Scars spoke of invisible wounds, silent struggles hidden from the world. y/n's voice, fragile yet powerful, pierced the hearts of everyone present, and soon, tears streamed down many faces.
Ji Chang Wook felt a strange warmth spreading through his chest. It was as if she was revealing a part of herself through the song—a part he wanted to protect at all costs.
After the performance, the emotion in the room was palpable. Fans began sharing their own stories, inspired by y/n's raw sincerity.
A young woman timidly stepped forward, the microphone trembling in her hands.
— "y/n-ssi… I just wanted to say thank you. Your music helped me through a really difficult time. My fiancé left me after eight years together… I didn’t know who I was without him. But your songs made me realize I could survive, even with scars."
y/n looked at the fan, her eyes glistening with emotion.
— "Thank you for sharing that," she said softly. "I don’t have the perfect words to ease that kind of pain, but… sometimes, our scars become our most beautiful stories to tell. You’re stronger than you think."
Another fan spoke up, a young man with tear-streaked eyes.
— "y/n-ssi, have you ever… lost someone you loved? I don’t know how to keep going. I’m so tired."
The question, brutal in its honesty, seemed to freeze time. y/n lowered her gaze for a moment, searching for the right response.
— "Yes," she murmured at last. "I’ve lost someone… not to death, but to betrayal. And it’s a different kind of pain, but just as heavy. I won’t lie to you—it never completely goes away. But one day, you’ll realize you deserve better, and that will be the beginning of healing."
Sensing her words weren’t enough to break the heavy atmosphere, she added with a teasing smile:
— "And if nothing else works, you can always try planting tomatoes. I did that once, and even though they were inedible, it was oddly satisfying!"
The room erupted into laughter, breaking the tension. Even y/n blushed slightly, surprised by her own humor.
Later, a young girl approached shyly with a bouquet of flowers and a small, carefully wrapped package.
— "y/n-ssi, it’s not much, but… I made this gift for you. It’s a bracelet I crafted. I hope you like it."
Visibly touched, y/n stood to accept the flowers and the package. She bowed slightly, a humble smile on her face.
— "Thank you so much, it’s beautiful. But… you know, I’m not that special."
The fan shook her head fervently.
— "To me, you are. Your music gave me hope when I needed it most."
Moved by the declaration, y/n, in a spontaneous gesture, removed the silver bracelet she had been wearing. It was a gift she had received at the start of her career, but at that moment, it felt like it belonged to the young girl.
— "I want you to have this. To remind you that you’re special, too."
The fan burst into tears, overwhelmed by emotion, while y/n gently embraced her.
In the shadows, Ji Chang Wook observed every movement. Her natural kindness, her sincerity, and her way of connecting with her fans captivated him more and more. But beyond admiration, he felt an obsession growing within him.
He promised himself he would meet her. No, not just meet her—he would become a part of her life. No matter the cost.
As for y/n, she felt deeply moved by the evening, entirely unaware that in the crowd, someone was already planning a role in her destiny.
---
A few days after the fan meeting, y/n arrived at a workshop for underprivileged children organized at a community center in Seoul. Although she was often invited to charity events, this one was particularly close to her heart. The cause of struggling youth resonated with memories of her own childhood, marked by personal challenges.
Dressed in simple jeans and a cream sweater, she was almost unrecognizable compared to the star who captivated crowds. But here, she wasn’t a celebrity; she was just y/n, a volunteer ready to offer her time and warmth.
The workshop, centered around painting and music, buzzed with energy and laughter. y/n knelt beside a little girl who was struggling to draw a bird.
— "Do you want me to help?" she asked softly, picking up a pencil.
The child timidly nodded, and together, they began sketching a bird with colorful feathers. Within minutes, the little girl was laughing, opening up to y/n as if they’d known each other forever.
Across the room, Ji Chang Wook entered discreetly, dressed casually with a beanie partially hiding his face. He had learned about y/n’s participation through a contact at the center and couldn’t resist the idea of seeing her in this setting.
At first, he stayed in the background, watching how she interacted with the children. She radiated a natural warmth that seemed to put everyone at ease. This version of y/n—dedicated and kind-hearted—only deepened his desire to get closer to her.
After a while, he approached a boy sitting alone, his hands curled tightly around a paintbrush. The boy seemed hesitant to join the others.
— "Hi," Ji Chang Wook said with a smile. "Want to try something together? I’m not very good, but we could paint something funny."
The boy looked up timidly, intrigued by the warm man, and eventually nodded.
y/n, who had gotten up to fetch some brushes, noticed Ji Chang Wook for the first time. She blinked, surprised. He looked familiar, but she wasn’t sure. Was it really him?
Later in the day, after the activities had slowed down, y/n approached Ji Chang Wook. He was still with the young boy, softly laughing at their creation: a strange mix of a dragon and a cat.
— "You’re good at making kids laugh," she said, a playful smile on her lips.
Ji Chang Wook looked up, his gaze meeting hers. His heart skipped a beat, but he kept his composure.
— "I try. But I think you’re the one with the magic today. The kids adore you."
y/n blushed slightly, feeling shy at the compliment.
— "I’m just doing my best… but you seem very comfortable with them too. Do you come here often?"
Ji Chang Wook hesitated for a moment before answering. He didn’t want to admit he was there only because of her.
— "It’s my first time. I heard about the workshop and wanted to see how I could help."
— "That’s a wonderful initiative," y/n replied. "The kids need role models like you."
He smiled, but deep down, he knew he wanted to be more than just a role model to her.
As the workshop came to an end, Ji Chang Wook found the courage to hold her back for a moment.
— "y/n-ssi, it’s been a pleasure seeing you here. You seem to really love what you do."
— "I do," she answered sincerely. "It’s a way to give back a little of what I’ve received."
— "Maybe we could work together on another project for these kids? I have a few ideas in mind."
Surprised by his suggestion, y/n sensed a warmth in his approach. He didn’t seem to be there to impress, but genuinely engaged.
— "That’s a good idea. Send me your ideas, and we’ll see what we can do."
Ji Chang Wook nodded, pleased with her openness. It was only a small step, but for him, it was the beginning of something he hoped to build with patience.
In the days that followed, they exchanged a few messages about projects for the center. Ji Chang Wook tried to remain professional, although he found every interaction with her deeply captivating.
y/n, on the other hand, appreciated his respectful and thoughtful approach. He wasn’t at all what she might have imagined a celebrity of his stature to be. He seemed humble, almost vulnerable.
Without realizing it, she began to look forward to his messages with a certain anticipation—a feeling she hadn’t experienced in a long time.
In the quiet rhythm of their exchanges, a connection was gently forming, like a subtle melody promising a beautiful harmony to come.
---
A few weeks later, Ji Chang Wook and y/n met at the community center to finalize a project they had co-created: a workshop combining theater and music to help children express their emotions. The concept was simple yet powerful: the kids could act out scenes they created themselves, with improvised songs accompanying their stories.
y/n arrived first, helping to prepare the costumes and props. She was focused, her hands working delicately. Ji Chang Wook joined her shortly after, carrying a large bag filled with quirky wigs and hats.
— "I thought a bit of humor might help them relax," he said with a playful smile.
y/n burst out laughing as she pulled out a huge pink wig from the bag.
— "This is perfect. I’m sure they’ll love it. But… I can’t quite picture you wearing this," she teased, looking at him mischievously.
— "Oh, you underestimate me," he replied, immediately putting on the wig. "So, what do you think?"
y/n laughed even harder, and at that moment, she realized just how much she had grown to enjoy his company. Ji Chang Wook had this rare ability to lighten things up, even when she felt weighed down by her own thoughts.
The workshop was a success. Encouraged by the presence of the two celebrities, the children began to perform with a freedom and joy that even surprised the regular facilitators. y/n guided some of them through simple compositions, while Ji Chang Wook improvised hilarious scenes with the more timid ones.
At one point, a boy named Minho refused to participate. He had withdrawn to a corner of the room, arms crossed. y/n approached him gently.
— "Minho, are you okay? You don’t have to join in, but we’d love to have you with us."
The boy shook his head.
— "I’m no good. The others always make fun of me."
y/n crouched down to his level, looking him in the eyes.
— "I understand. You know, when I was little, I was scared to sing in front of others. But I learned something important: even if your voice shakes, even if you make a mistake, what matters is how you feel and what you share. It’s not easy, but I’m here for you."
Ji Chang Wook, who had been watching from a distance, approached quietly.
— "Minho, would you like me to be your scene partner? I’m terrible at singing, so maybe you could help me out."
The boy hesitated but eventually agreed, won over by the sincerity of the two adults. Together, they improvised a small scene where Minho played a brave hero while Ji Chang Wook dressed up as a clumsy villain. The laughter of the other children filled the room, and for the first time, Minho smiled.
At the end of the day, as the children went home, y/n and Ji Chang Wook stayed behind to help tidy up. A peaceful silence settled between them, each lost in their own thoughts.
Finally, Ji Chang Wook broke the silence.
— "You have a gift, y/n. It’s not just your music or your voice. You have this ability to deeply touch people. Even a boy like Minho… he needed that today."
y/n turned to him, surprised by the intensity of his words. She lowered her gaze, uncomfortable with such sincerity.
— "Thank you," she murmured. "But I think you’re the same. Minho followed you because he sensed you were someone he could trust."
Ji Chang Wook smiled but said nothing more. He knew this wasn’t the right moment to reveal his feelings. He simply appreciated her presence, finding a strange comfort in their shared silence.
As they left the center, Ji Chang Wook suggested, almost without thinking:
— "How about grabbing a drink? You worked hard today; you deserve a coffee or tea."
y/n hesitated for a moment. She wasn’t the type to accept such invitations, especially from someone she still didn’t know well. But something about Ji Chang Wook’s demeanor put her at ease.
— "Alright. But I get to choose the place," she replied with a playful smile.
They ended up at a small, quiet café, far from the bustle of the city. For an hour, they talked about everything and nothing: their childhood memories, their dreams, their fears. y/n found herself sharing things she had never told anyone before, and Ji Chang Wook listened with an attentiveness that deeply moved her.
As they parted ways that evening, they thanked each other for the day. Ji Chang Wook, standing by his car, watched y/n walk away, a warm feeling spreading through him.
He knew it would take time to earn her full trust, but he was willing to wait. To him, y/n wasn’t just a fascinating woman; she was an echo of a part of himself he had never explored.
For her part, y/n felt a strange lightness for the first time in a long while. As if, after years of emotional solitude, she could finally consider opening a small door… gently, at her own pace.
And so, a relationship began to bloom between them, built on patience, respect, and shared moments that only deepened their budding connection.
---
The following days were marked by sporadic but meaningful exchanges between Y/N and Ji Chang Wook. Sometimes, he would send her a message to share a funny anecdote about the kids at the center, while at other times, she would share the lyrics of a new song she was writing. Their connection seemed to grow effortlessly, like a river flowing gently towards the ocean.
One afternoon, while she was rehearsing in a music studio, Y/N received an unexpected message from Ji Chang Wook.
"I'm about to start filming a movie. We're looking for a song for an important scene. Maybe you could think about it? Nothing official, just an idea."
Y/N smiled. She had never considered composing for a movie, but the thought of contributing to a project featuring Ji Chang Wook intrigued her.
"Send me the details, and I'll see what I can do," she replied.
A few days later, Ji Chang Wook invited her to visit the film set. Curious, Y/N accepted, though she was a bit nervous about seeing him in his professional element. When she arrived, she was immediately struck by the intense atmosphere. Technicians were bustling everywhere, and the crew seemed deeply focused.
Ji Chang Wook greeted her warmly, dressed in his character's costume. Despite the makeup and the serious demeanor he wore for the role, he couldn't hide the sparkle in his eyes upon seeing her.
"Welcome to my world," he said with a smile. "It's chaotic, but I love it."
Y/N watched the scenes being filmed with fascination. Between takes, Ji Chang Wook explained the story of the movie and the specific scene for which they were searching for a song.
"It's a pivotal moment," he explained. "The main character realizes he has to let go of someone he loves for their own good. It's painful but necessary."
The words resonated deeply with Y/N. This duality between love and letting go was a theme she understood well.
"I think I can write something," she replied, ideas already swirling in her mind.
That night, Y/N immersed herself in writing. The words flowed almost effortlessly, fueled by her own experiences and the emotions she had observed on set. Within a few hours, a soft and poignant melody had taken shape, accompanied by simple yet powerful lyrics.
The next day, she sent a demo recording to Ji Chang Wook. Shortly after, she received a call.
"Y/N, this is… incredible," he said, visibly moved. "It perfectly captures what we were looking for. You're truly a genius."
She laughed softly, embarrassed by the compliment.
"I'm glad you like it. I hope it fits the scene."
"Not just the scene. It's perfect for the entire movie. You have no idea how much this will touch the audience."
A few weeks passed, and Y/N's song officially became the centerpiece of the movie's soundtrack. To celebrate the collaboration, Y/N, in a burst of pride, invited Ji Chang Wook to dinner. It was more of a subtle kidnapping than an invitation.
---
Ji Chang Wook had just wrapped up a particularly grueling day of filming when he received a message from Y/N:
"You’ve always been the one to reach out, but this time, it’s my turn. I want to celebrate our collaboration. Dinner this Friday—what do you say? No refusals, I insist."
He read the message several times, an incredulous smile spreading across his lips. Y/N, usually so reserved, was taking the initiative. This simple gesture, so unusual coming from her, deeply moved him.
A strange mix of surprise and pleasure washed over him. He was used to being the one to initiate their exchanges, whether to discuss the project or simply to joke around. But this was different. It felt as though she was reaching out to him in return, and it stirred a warmth within him he hadn’t anticipated.
He stretched out on the couch in his dressing room, unable to focus on anything else. His mind wandered, exploring the implications of her gesture. Was it merely a professional acknowledgment, or was there something more?
A feeling he rarely experienced began to surface: he felt wanted. Not in the superficial way he was used to because of his fame, but in an intimate, genuine sense. Y/N, with her shyness and gentle demeanor, had broken an invisible barrier to invite him into her world.
He quickly replied, his tone slightly playful but sincere:
"A subtle kidnapping, really? I’m curious to see what you’ve planned. I’m happy to surrender to this ‘capture.’"
The rest of the week was marked by an unusual anticipation. Ji Chang Wook, an actor accustomed to the spotlight and high expectations, found himself thinking about the dinner more often than he cared to admit.
He wondered what restaurant she would choose, what she would say, how she would act. Would she remain as composed as usual, or would she reveal a more relaxed side of herself?
For him, it wasn’t just a dinner to celebrate a collaboration. Not anymore. It represented an evolution in their relationship, a step forward that he wouldn’t have dared to push for.
He was willing to wait as long as she needed to open up to him, but this initiative made him feel like she was starting to let him in. And that made him feel unexpectedly vulnerable.
Ji Chang Wook realized then that this wasn’t just artistic admiration or a fleeting fascination. His feelings for Y/N were rooted far deeper than he had anticipated.
"I'm doomed," he murmured with a smile as he adjusted his tie for the evening.
When Friday arrived, he was ready. And for once, he wasn’t trying to impress. He just wanted to be there, with her, and see where the evening would lead.
---
Ji Chang Wook arrived at the place indicated by Y/N, a small restaurant tucked away in a quiet alley in Seoul, far from the glitzy venues he was used to. The place exuded a simplicity and authenticity that matched Y/N perfectly.
As he entered, he spotted her immediately. She was sitting by a window, dressed in a white blouse and jeans—casual yet elegant. She was absentmindedly fiddling with a ring on her finger, as if trying to calm her nerves before his arrival.
When she looked up and saw him, her face lit up with a genuine smile.
— "Ah, you're here," she said, a bit nervously. "I was hoping you wouldn’t stand me up."
— "Are you kidding?" he replied, pulling out a chair. "I wouldn’t miss this for the world. Besides, how could I pass up the chance to get kidnapped, right?"
They shared a light laugh, and the initial tension quickly dissipated.
The meal began in a relaxed atmosphere. Y/N had chosen a simple menu, and Ji Chang Wook appreciated the modesty of the place. They started by talking about mundane things: the filming, the kids at the center, the song Y/N had composed.
Then, little by little, the conversation turned more personal.
— "You know," Ji Chang Wook began, idly playing with his glass of water, "you surprised me with this invitation. It almost feels like you're trying to thank me for something I haven’t even done yet."
Y/N blushed slightly and looked down at her plate.
— "Well… you’ve already done a lot. Not just for the song or the movie, but… for me."
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
— "For you?"
— "Yes," she murmured. "Since we’ve started talking, I feel like… I can just be myself. You don’t see me as just a singer or an actress. You actually listen. And that means a lot."
Her words, simple but heartfelt, struck Ji Chang Wook deeply. He leaned slightly toward her, resting his elbows on the table.
— "Y/N, it’s not hard to listen to you. You have a way of reaching people, not just with your music, but with your presence. You might not see it, but you have a calming effect on those around you. On me, at least."
She looked up, surprised by his confession.
— "On you?"
— "Yes," he replied earnestly. "You remind me that there are simple and genuine things in this world, things worth holding onto. And I’m glad you let me be part of your world."
The silence that followed wasn’t awkward but charged with a gentle, unexpected intensity. Y/N nervously played with a strand of her hair, while Ji Chang Wook, on his side, studied every nuance of her expression.
Then she broke the silence with a small, nervous laugh.
— "It’s funny, I thought I was the one who’d be thanking you tonight, and here we are with the roles reversed."
— "Maybe we should just thank each other," he said with a smile.
Y/N nodded, her smile widening.
— "Alright. Thank you, then."
They continued their dinner, discussing future projects and sharing stories about their lives. As the evening went on, Y/N felt more at ease, and Ji Chang Wook realized he was happier in that moment than at any glamorous party or red carpet event.
As they left the restaurant, Y/N suggested taking a walk. The night air was crisp, and the streets were quiet. They walked side by side, silent at first, simply enjoying each other's presence.
Eventually, Y/N stopped and turned to face him.
— "Ji Chang Wook… thank you for coming tonight. I know I’m not always great at expressing myself, but… this meant a lot to me."
He stepped a little closer, meeting her gaze.
— "Y/N, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, but I need to say something. I’m glad we started this… collaboration. But for me, it’s more than just a project or a song. I genuinely appreciate the person you are."
She stood still, her cheeks flushing slightly. She opened her mouth to respond, but Ji Chang Wook raised his hand gently.
— "You don’t have to respond right now. Take all the time you need. I’ll be here, no matter what."
Y/N slowly nodded, moved by his sincerity and patience.
They resumed their walk, their steps gradually falling in sync. The night stretched ahead of them, full of promises and possibilities yet to be explored.
---
Ji Chang Wook and Y/N were sharing an impromptu lunch on set. Between bites, he suddenly said:
— "I have an idea."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
— "Oh? Another brilliant idea for the movie, I suppose?"
He smiled, but his tone turned more serious.
— "Not exactly. Listen, you’ve been working so hard lately. You deserve a break. How about taking the weekend off with me? Just the two of us."
Her eyes widened, caught off guard.
— "Go where?"
— "There’s a village in the countryside I love. Quiet, secluded, no one to bother us. We could relax, recharge. And maybe… get to know each other better."
His gaze was intense but devoid of any pressure. Y/N felt her heart race, both unsettled and drawn to his proposal.
— "That’s… spontaneous," she murmured, trying to mask her nerves with a smile.
— "Spontaneity has its perks," he replied. "And sometimes, we need to escape the routine, don’t you think?"
After a long pause, she nodded.
— "Alright. But if it gets weird, I’m making you walk back to Seoul."
He burst out laughing.
— "Deal."
The journey to the village was filled with light-hearted conversations, but every glance they exchanged carried a quiet intensity. When they arrived, Y/N was struck by the serenity of the place. Rolling green hills stretched as far as the eye could see, and a gentle river wound its way through the landscape.
They settled into a quaint guesthouse, where the owners greeted them with warm smiles. After freshening up, Ji Chang Wook invited Y/N for a walk.
They strolled in silence, soaking in the beauty of the setting sun. Then, on a whim, Ji Chang Wook gently took her hand.
— "It’s to keep you from tripping," he said with a mischievous smile.
Y/N felt a shiver run through her but didn’t pull her hand away.
— "You’re so considerate," she replied, feigning a teasing tone to hide her unease.
After dinner, they decided to sit by the stream, where the starry sky seemed infinitely vast. The atmosphere was intimate, almost magical.
— "It’s beautiful here," Y/N whispered, her eyes fixed on the stars.
— "It’s even more beautiful with you here," Ji Chang Wook replied without hesitation.
She turned to him, surprised by the gentleness in his voice.
— "Are you always this straightforward?" she asked, her smile uncertain.
He shrugged, his gaze steady on her.
— "Only when I feel something real."
Their eyes met, and a charged silence filled the space between them. Ji Chang Wook hesitated for a moment before lifting a hand to brush away a strand of hair that had fallen across her face.
— "You’re incredible, Y/N. And I don’t just mean your talent. There’s something about you—this light—that draws me in, captivates me."
Her heart pounded furiously.
— "Ji Chang Wook, I…"
He didn’t let her finish. Slowly, cautiously, he leaned in. Their lips met in a kiss that was soft yet brimming with restrained passion.
Y/N didn’t pull away. Instead, she responded with an intensity she didn’t know she possessed. The world around them seemed to fade, leaving only the two of them in a bubble of their own.
When they finally broke apart, slightly breathless, Ji Chang Wook murmured:
— "I’m sorry if that was too sudden. But I couldn’t… wait any longer."
Y/N placed a hand on his cheek, her eyes shining with an emotion she couldn’t hide.
— "It wasn’t too sudden," she said softly. "It was… perfect."
Back at the guesthouse, Ji Chang Wook suggested they sit by the fireplace. They spent hours talking, sharing their fears, dreams, and hopes.
At one point, Y/N rested her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around her, holding her close.
— "I don’t know where this will take us," she murmured, her voice heavy with sleep.
— "Neither do I," he replied, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "But I know I don’t want to lose you."
That night, under the stars and the crackling fire, they let their hearts open fully to one another, crossing a boundary they both knew they could never ignore again.

Bittersweet II Cha Hyun Su x Reader
Cha Hyun Su x Reader
Summary: In the aftermath of a nightmarish struggle for survival, strained bonds and lost memories characterize the heartbreaking exchange between you and Hyun Su, where a desperate attempt to bridge the gap between shared experiences unfolds, leaving a lingering sense of loss as you face an uncertain future together.
the first part, kinda ~~~~~ the next part, kinda
Masterlist
~~~~~
The last few hours unfolded as a nightmarish chapter in the ongoing struggle for survival. Your group of survivors had been taken hostage, forced to fight off scavengers seeking harm. The struggle for survival had strained your bonds, particularly the delicate balance after Ui Myeong's inclusion, triggering an unspoken personal turmoil with Hyun Su and the others but also between you two.
After your decisive move to aid the vent lizard monster, the atmosphere grew more strained. Pushing past Hyun Su, you rushed to aid the vent lizard monster, recognizing the fear it instilled in others, your determination to buy time for the creature clashed with escalating threats. Hyun Su and Ui Myeong had disappeared during the chaos, leaving you with a lingering regret of missing the chance to talk to Hyun Su once more. You had seen his face as the others tried to kill the jelly monster.
Returning to the common area, you collaborated with fellow survivors, sealing the entrance in a desperate attempt to ward off hostile monster attacks and create a brief illusion of security for the night. The atmosphere remained charged with anxiety and uncertainty, survivors grappling with the aftermath of relentless assaults and the toll it took on their collective psyche.
Sang-wook's sudden dash with Yu-Ri on his back disrupted the makeshift sanctuary. Concern etched on your face, you inquired about the situation, opening a dialogue with Sang-wook to understand the urgency of their escape plan. His brief words revealed the desperate need for a refill of Yu-Ri's asthma spray, and with a sense of urgency, he handed you the car keys. Taking charge, you sprinted towards the abandoned vehicle, only to be abruptly blocked by a sudden force, sending you flying, disoriented, and confused as you overheard the end of their conversation.
"Does it matter? We won't be here. I will go with you," Hyun Su declared, bewildering you as you tried to pierce together the events that unfolded amidst the chaos. The urgency of the situation and the underlying tension left you grappling with the unknown.
Confusion reigned as you attempted to convey the urgency of Yu-Ri's situation, but Hyun Su's unfamiliar coldness dismissed your concerns as you came back up to your feed. The following sequence of events played out in slow motion, culminating in a moment of shock as Ui-Myeong aimed the gun at the departing duo, gunfire echoed, and Hyun Soo's anguished scream reverberated.
As Ui Myeong redirected the gun toward you, a sudden push threw you into a wall, pain radiating through your body, ultimately knocking you out. The chaos intensified with gunshots and screams, leaving the fate of Hyun Su and the others hanging in uncertainty.
Upon regaining consciousness, the landscape had changed once again. Sang-wook and Yu-Ri and even Mister Han were gone, leaving a void in the group dynamics. Hyun Su stood among the survivors, his memories wiped clean. Ui Myeong gone. The weight of the day's losses threatened to bring forth tears that remained elusive.
Stepping closer to Hyun Su, despite the heaviness that lingered in the air, you extended a hesitant hand, your fingers brushing against his arm as if seeking an anchor in the disarray that had become your reality. His eyes, a canvas of confusion, held a spark of recognition that flickered and faded like a distant star.
"You don't remember..." you began, the words caught in your throat as you gazed into the depths of his bewildered eyes. It was a plea, an attempt to bridge the gap between the shared experiences that seemed to be slipping away from him.
His expression softened, an acknowledgment of the void he couldn't fill. "Thank you for saving me again," you continued, the gratitude woven with a tinge of sorrow, sitting next to him. Every syllable carried the weight of moments that seemed destined to be forgotten.
A somber silence hung between you, punctuated only by the echoes of the distant hum of the shelter's generator. In that silence, you found the courage to address the unspoken pain that lingered between you and Hyun Su.
"I don't remember saving you. Or you," he confessed, his voice carrying the weight of an apology he couldn't fully understand.
The admission cut deep, like a wound that refused to heal. In that moment, you chose not to dwell on the fragments lost in the recesses of his mind but to weave new threads of connection. "It doesn't matter," you whispered, your voice a gentle reassurance that sought to bridge the gap. "I will always remember you."
Hyun Su's gaze faltered, self-doubt clouding his eyes. "Isn't it inconvenient for me to be here? Shouldn't you be afraid like the others?" he questioned, baring the vulnerability that lingered beneath the surface.
The words hung heavy in the air, a reminder of the fractures in his memories and the trust that seemed to be slipping away. With a steadying breath, you addressed the uncertainty that loomed. "We've had this conversation before," you said, your eyes meeting his with unwavering sincerity.
You extended your hand like so many times before, a silent plea for him to hold on, to grasp the hand you were offering. His gaze didn't meet yours, the unspoken invitation hanging in the somber atmosphere. His eyes, filled with uncertainty, locked onto your hand, and you hesitated, uncertain if he would recognize the gesture.
He didn´t. Uncreatin looking at your hand. In an act of boldness and with embarrassingly red cheeks, you gripped his hand, holding it tight. His confusion reflected in his expression, you held his gaze and, with a deep breath, spoke softly, "I trust you, Hyun Su." The words lingered in the air, a testament to the connection that surpassed the boundaries of fleeting recollections.
"With or without your memories, I trust you."
His gaze met yours, and you saw a flicker of gratitude in his eyes, as if sensing the depth of your unspoken pledge. A fleeting smile graced Hyun Su's lips, a fragile bridge between the past and the uncertain present.
In that moment, you chose to focus on the small victories, finding solace in the fragments that remained. The weight of uncertainty lingered, but the warmth of the connection you sought to rebuild offered a glimmer of hope in the aftermath of the day's turmoil.
Unbeknownst to you, this heartfelt exchange marked the last time you would speak with Hyun Su for a very long time.
(Maybe a confession) take your time and feel free to ignore if you don't like this! (Just answer to it so I know if you don't want to write it I understand!)
I’ll Be There | Sang-wook x GN reader
Genre: Fluff, A bit of Angst
Summary: Sang-wook’s walls finally collapse and your the only one who understands him.
Warnings: Mentions of Killing, Normal Sweet Home Stuff
Unedited ( Will be editing tomorrow)
————————————
Sang-wook was dangerous. There was no denying his hard cold demeanor and his fearlessness to stand up for/ to anyone in the group. Everyone though he was a criminal but you knew that underneath that had to be someone that cared. Everyday you watched as he groaned and grumbled at everyone. You tried your best to make sure he was always taken care of because he was important more to you than anyone. Maybe it was a petty crush or perhaps it came from a place of understanding.
Everyone treated him as an outsider. Yet you would offer him food. He at first reacted like he didn’t care just walking away every time you tried. Slowly things changed. He would answer by shaking his head no sometimes he would take one piece before walking off as he started to warm up to you.
On a rather gloomy day rain fell hard outside, everyone already seemed to be in a terrible mood. But than a monster broke into the first floor. It tore through walls and damn near killed you all, luckily Hyun-Soo was quick on his feet to light it on fire before it could reach where everyone slept.
“ This is ridiculous we aren’t safe! That thing got down here!” Woo-Hyun shouted out. Making practically everyone jump beside Sang-wook who stood next to you.
“ Ya, I mean what if we were sleeping a-and it snuck down here and killed us all!” Gook-hee added pulling her dog closer to her. They had a point, but the way that they bitched about it didn’t help any.
“ Let’s all just take a breath-“ You started trying to regain some form of peace you’d all just lost.
“ Don’t tell me to breathe!” Woo-Hyun said walking up to you. Sang-Wook stepped forward as if he were protecting you. But Do-Hyun spoke before a fight could break lose,
“ The problem has been fixed we’ll have everyone check over certain spots so we can-“ Woo-Hyun cut him off grabbing his collar practically almost ripping Do-hyun’s white t-shirt in the process.
“ Your trying to kill us first you hold food from us and now this you-“
Sang-wook lightly pushing Woo-hyun back. His face turned to pure shock.
“ You dare put your hands on me! You thug!” He yelled pointing at him. “ Why is he even still here he’s a danger to us all! He killed a person!”
Sang-Wook face fell for second before harding back up. He stepped back as Woo-Hyun continued.
“ He’s a murder a psychopath-“
“ Stop it!” You shouted making everyone go silent.
Sang-wook shoved his hands in his pockets while walking away from the scene.
“ Walk away killer!” Woo-Hyun yelled point at him.
“ Would you stop!” You shouted smacking his hand down Woo-Hyun face turned in shock.
“ Did you ever stop to think that maybe he did it for our own good? Maybe that man was out to kill us or take our only things we have left.”
Woo-Hyun looked at you with a slightly deflated expression. “ Whatever nobody cares what you have to say! You don’t even speak half the time..” He muttered before walking away his wife trailing behind.
Everyone else followed their lead going off on their own. You decide to go after Sang-wook you weren’t sure what you’d find. But you saw the look in his eyes almost like someone had poked his heart.
As you turned the corner you heard the sound of breaking concrete and grunts. You saw Sang-wook standing over concrete blocks slamming them with a sledge hammer. Little piece scattering across the floor.
“ Sang-wook?” You said softly.
“ Go.” He muttered as he dropped the hammer on the ground his back towards you.
You start taking slow steps towards him asking, “ Are you okay ?” He didn’t reply instead he stayed silent you noticed his shoulders starting to shake by the time you reached his side you saw tears streaming down his face. It made your heart hurt to see him like this. You felt bad like you were seeing something you weren’t meant too but you weren’t going anywhere you wanted him to know that.
“ It’s okay.” He practically jumped on top of you wrapping his arms around your waist pulling you close gripping your shirt as he sobbed into your neck. His grip was tight like you would disappear if he let go. You wrapped your arms around his smoothing his hair as you whispering.
“ You can cry, it’s okay.” That he did. You practically watched as his walls came down you let him crying till the sun was setting by than you both found yourself sitting on the dirt near the window in a comfortable silence.
“ Thank you..” He muttered. You could help but giggle at his embarrassed tone, He gives you shocked look.
“ It’s okay.” You grinned. “I’m not judging you.”
Sang-wook’s eyes widen a bit at your statement like nobody had ever showed this type of care for him. Maybe you were the first in a while.
“ You don’t have to be strong in front of me.” You reassured him. You just wanted him to be okay to know that even if the whole world judged him you wouldn’t.
“ I don’t know what to say..” His eyes trailing down to the dirt.
“ Then don’t say anything, Just promise me you’ll let me be there for you.”
He nodded his head in acceptance of you and an acceptance of letting someone special in. You made him feel like there was more to this world than constantly having to watch your own back now he could watch what was right in-front of him.
———————————————————————
A/N: Hope you enjoy this. I wasn’t sure what kinda of ending I was gonna do. I was thinking about having Sang-wook tell the reader he didn’t kill them for a dumb reason. Or this ending where Sang-wook just tries to leave it in the past and move on with the reader which is this end. Anyways That’s all Much appreciation ❤️💚!!
You stood in front of him, hands stuffed in your pockets. Clammy and cold, yet itching to fiddle with something. Your fingers find purchase in the rise of the bottom of your pocket from where it's stitched to your pants.
As if only noticing you then - which had happened to become a strange habit between the two of you - he blinked slowly and moved aside to make room for your to sit.
You took the invitation kindly and sank down next to him, weary with exhaustion. The further you make it in this world, the less chance you have of surviving further. That was made sure of - you witnessed an argument between residents about sharing food.
You rubbed your shoulder, dazed with the events of the day. He noticed you lost in thought.
But before he could ask, you do instead: "Are you okay?"
One of his eyebrows pitched up momentarily. He nodded. "Your Korean is getting better."
All you could make out was Korean and it sounded positive, so you smiled at him. "Thank you," you said. You knew the basics. How to refer to yourself, to others. To women and men. Thank You and Help. But you were essentially a toddler with how you had to point to things. You also didn't know how to read Korean, since nobody spoke English enough to explain the lettering system. It was a lot of repetition. "But you didn't answer my question," you continued in English, frowning. You poked at the ground with your foot.
Even if Sang-wook couldn't understand your words, he could very well read your body language. He frowned. "Are you okay?"
You shrugged. "I'm just tired. Have you ever thought about ending it all?"
He stared at you blankly, ever so intently listening but not understanding.
"Because I do. All the time," you said simply. "And I know that I don't want to turn into one of them. But what if that urge... The urge to die... What if that's what makes me into one of them? I don't want to become one. I don't want to live like that. But I know I can't live like this anymore."
You dropped your head against his shoulder, winded. He tensed.
Slowly, he spoke. "I don't know why you stay around me. We don't understand each other..." He considered for a moment. "But I think your reason is the same as mine. You don't like being around the others. Don't like putting... on a front." It was the most honest he'd been about himself thus far. "We don't lie to each other. Can't lie if we don't get what we're saying."
He angled his head towards yours, still on his shoulder. "You're the most honest person I know."
The sun was setting. His thigh was pressed against yours. His voice was soft. Nothing else mattered.
"Maybe," you started, chuckling to yourself. "Maybe we could teach each other some things." You pointed at yourself - his eyes followed. "Teacher."
He rose an eyebrow. "Teacher? You?"
You turned to him, grinning. "Teacher... I teacher you. We can teach each other."
Sang-wook seemed mildly confused but seemed to get the gist of it. "Oh... You want to teach me how to speak English?"
You recognized a lot of the words. "I think so. Yes."
"So you meant 'teach.'" He smiled slightly. "Alright. I'll bite."
"Like this," you said and pointed. To the orange hues and wrong-flying birds. You repeated it again, looking at him in a once-glance, two. His eyes didn't leave you. "That's the sky. Sky. Sky."
He narrowed his eyes at you before following your gesture. Looked to the sky. "...Sky."
"Yeah," you repeated. Dropped your hand. "That's the sky."
Sang-wook stared out at it for a beat longer. "For me, it's the sky."
You slowly repeated his inflection. A smile poked at the corner of his lips. "Sky," you said. It was strange for a one syllable word to become two. But it was soft and quite fitting for the image. "Sky, sky, sky, sky."
Your eyes stayed stuck on the clouds His eyes stayed stuck on you.
"What about..." You tutted, looking around absentmindedly. "Oh!" You exclaimed and reached for his hand. It rose to meet you like he was being puppeted. "And this is my hand," You flexed his fingers. "Hand." You dragged your own across his palm, his lifelines, a fortune. "Hand."
He exhaled shakily. Then cringed inwardly at how soft he was being. "Ah, that's pathetic of me..."
"Pathetic?" You asked, raising your joined hands together.
"No!" He was quick to deny. "Ah, no. It's 'hand'. Hand, hand." He wiggled his fingers for you. "Hand."
Then, slowly, Sang-wook balled them up into his palms. "... And this.. is a fist."
He stared at it, unmoving. Having a whole conversation in his mind. For the oddest reason, you felt like you understood what he was saying silently more than either English OR Korean.
"Fist..." you repeated thoughtfully. "Fist. I get it."
You got what he was trying to say, even if he didn't. He was grateful.
But then you glided your fingers around his fist, feeling out the ridges of his scraped knuckles and healed scars. You were suddenly intimately aware of your closeness - so you didn't make it an effort to look at him directly. You just kept your eyes and attention on his hand.
He worried that if you looked any closer, you'd see he was shaking slightly. Or shivering. He couldn't tell if he was hot or cold. Not when he was next to you. Next to you it was all of those things, but also none of those things, because all he could focus on was you, of course.
How could you look at him like that? How could you just look at the worst parts of him like that with admiration?
How could he explain any of this to you?
Was there a word for that in your language?
The next day he'd teach you the first three numbers in Korean. Then you'll do the same in English. And soon enough, with enough time, maybe you'd find that word.
Helloooo, it's me the person that said I needed more sang-wook ficts! So idk if you remember in S2 not sure which episode it was when hyun-soo and "sang-wook" (I don't remember the monster's name) crashed because said monster was seeing sang-wook's memories and stuff? So can you do something based on that where sang-wook and reader had been together bfr hand and then they see eachother again but this time like the "monster" actually leaves and yeah sang-wook is ok. I know it sounds a little weird but trust me I think it'll turn out good!
Sang - wook X reader
Genre: romance I say idk
Warning ⚠️: violence, fighting , blood
As Sang Wook held Hyun su down with one of his footed boots against the dash board of the military , removing a hand from the steering wheel as he pops his nose back in to place
“Why did you kill him” Hyun su managed to let out as he struggles againstSang Wook foot as he tries to push his foot off his throat with all his force but he didn’t remove a inch
“Because … you pissed me off” Sang Wook replies with a heartless laugh as he gives Hyun su a quick glance quickly turning his gaze back toward the road
As he uses his free foot to press down on the gas a bit more , as he mind starts to play his past memories that he had with reader
You met Sang Wook at a friends gathering as you didn’t really know any one there but your two best friends Amy and Lisa
You were sitting in a corner as you didn’t felt like your fit in well , Sang Wook glances soon landing in your sitting figure as he starts to become curious since he never seen you there before
Slowly walking towards you as he gives you slight bow with a small smile as he greets you , which your greet back as you look away shyly , which he found adorable
Not to long after you started to hang out more as you start to become closer by the day , eventually Sang Wook decided to ask you out to which you happily accepted
After a couple of dates , 6 maybe 7 , he finally grew the guts to tell you how he really felt about you , to soon find out you felt the same way as you both soon started dating
After a year of being a happily couple as he made sure to keep you out of any dirty business he did so you could stay safe to which you understood and never pressured him about , always being there to patch him up if needed
Weeks later you both eventually moved into Green Home , as it made you super excited to finally be able to live with Sang Wook , although he was happy to live with you he was there to handle other business
Which soon caught up with him .. after you both started to open up to the other survivors at Green Home , a group of thugs needed up showing up , one of the men taking your front e group as he drags you to a near by room
After finally breaking free and getting Green Home back from the thugs , Sang Wook went looking for you , only to see you ‘lifeless body’..laying over the table
That same day Sang Wook decided to leave Green Home which soon ended him him being shot and soon being controlled by a monster
Shaking his head to get rid of the thoughts as he lets out a shaky breath
“You aren’t dead you mother fucker” sang Wook says as his eyes start to turn pitch black as he tries to take control over his body but fails seconds later abusing Sang Wook to let out a cocky laugh
His monster side was to caught up in making sure he didn’t gain back Sang Wook to gain control that he didn’t notice the sudden spikes that were thrown in the road
As the tired go flat causing the car to swerve a little as it , crashes into a small pole.. coming back to his senses as he groan in pain a bit , Hyun su quickly climbing out of the car as blood trails down his head slowly looking up once he was out as he stop in he tracks
Quietly watching as the unknown person slowly walks past him not paying him any mind as she slowly walks to the crashed vehicle, pulling open the drivers side door as she pulls out a bloodied Sang Wook
Gently pulling his body out of the car as she places him on the ground , quietly checking his pulse as Hyun su watches with silent tears running down his face as knew Sang Wook thought you were gone
“H-He’s not him self” Hyun su says softly as he watches as you make sure he was breathing through his nose
“I know..” you reply quietly, taking your bag as you grab a bottle of water slowly opening the cap as you splash a bit of water on Sang Wook
“SANG WOOK” reader yells as Sang Wook eyes opens abruptly staring up at the sky for a minute before slowly turning his head in your direction eyes becoming wide as he feels tears drop down his face
“W-Who are you” Sang Wook says lowly almost in a whisper
“You ducking idiot..” You say as you slap his shoulder carefully , “ your sure a dick head you know that , how can you let some monster take control over your just because you assume I was dead , how can you just leave me like that your fucking prick” you say in one breathe let out as your let out a deep breath looking at him with anger and hurt after a while of silence he eyes seemed a bit different.. no make almost as he tried to sit up looking at you in disbelief
“R-Reader..” San Wook let’s our as he chokes on a sob , slowly nodding your head as he pulls you in a tight hug crying on your shoulder as you rubbed his back with a smile
You had your Sang Wook back after a year of searching and thinking he had died ….all because of you
