Sorcerer's Apprentice No. 6 (Spring 1980)
Ladies and gentlemen! Tonight, live from Madison Square Garden, we bring you the Fantasy Superfight of the Century! Introducing, in the red corner, weighing two hundred thirty and one-half pounds … wearing the leopardskin trunks with white stripe .. accompanied by his manager Edgar Rice Burroughs and his seconds, Lieutenant Paul d'Arnot and Akut … hailing from the tribe of Kerchak … TARZAN OF THE APES! And his opponent, in the blue corner, weighing in at two hundred fifty-one and three-quarters pounds … wearing wolfskin trunks with black stripe … accompanied by his manager, Robert E. Howard and his seconds, Trocero of Poitain and Red Sonja … hailing from the icy hills of Cimmeria … CONAN THE BARBARIAN! Let's listen as the referee gives the fighters their instructions. "Now, boys, I want to see a good savage fight. Remember to keep your heads up; no snarling in the clinches; and above all, no hitting below the loincloth. When you hear the bell, come out fighting, and may the best brute win!" There's the bell for Round One! BONG! "CROMMM!" "KREE-GAAAH!" Source: RPG Geek

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Theme: My top ten favorite personal projects that I’m either working on now or have written enough notes on it to consider it something I seriously want to work on.  In no particular order:
A superhero mmo that is essentially me examining mmos, studying them, deciding what I like, what I don’t like, why I think certain things were successful and why others weren’t, and how I would change it (or whether I’d get rid of it), etc etc etc (this is essentially also the same way I initially taught myself to draw and make comics)
Space Cowboys: cowboys/marshals in space.  Fighting zombies.  also cool aliens
Coven: a cute multi-chapter/path RPG in which Witches run a monster emergency help line and fight adventurers/demonslayers/etc
Hawthorne’s List: A classic horror monster inspired western game about a bounty hunter walking the line between retaining his humanity and becoming the monsters he hunts
Legend of Zelda: Deadlock Crusades, Was originally an art tournament cooked up by me and @lesliemerzdavis but life has kinda got busy for both of us and right now it’s more or less turned into a faux project- basically designing the world, characters, props, etc.  Just enough story to tie it all together and voila portfolio project.
Pantheon: rpg a minor goddess of a fantasy world ends up ripping herself into multiple beings in order to hide from her enemies while attempting to reach the true god of the world in the hopes that they can set things right.
Funeral For a King: a tabletop RPG (currently using the Savage Worlds system) where the setting is an authoritarian empire has made history a black market commodity and paranormal abilities are either snuffed out, or conscripted to fight against the gods of the afterlife attempting to invade your world.  Will you choose to uphold the law, or join the resistance and bring down the King’s reign?
Bettie and Gawain: a strip comic about a monster hunter and his dragon girlfriend that no one believes is a dragon.
Cuteness Overload: A visual novel/RPG/clicker game about a teenage girl with nothing on her mind but becoming the cutest she can be! Only on the first day of school people everywhere are being attacked, drained of their cuteness and goodness.  She volunteers to be a magical girl to fight against this enemy and protect the cuteness of the world!
Prism Guardians: a cooperative card game where you play as magic girls to defeat an enemy intent on devouring your world.
EXTRA: Vanity Garden: the result of me being generally fed up with garden/farm life sims that are either tedious or thinly veiled dating sims.  It’s my ideal of what a garden game should be.
EXTRA EXTRA: What We Leave Behind: a click and point visual novel game about a realtor who works for a bank on a low budget fixing up and going through foreclosed houses.  It’s supposed to be a bit of a mystery/crime drama game.

DESTINY'S CHILD
spoilers below - backdated from 10/8/2020
oh boy here goes I put off watching this last episode because if the series never came back I didn't want my experience to end on a buckleming note but here goes
I still need to post my liveblogging for the last two, my fucking chromebook died right after the may stay-at-home hunt but I backed it up at least, but it took those text files with it except for when I get around to digging through the backup
the episode title gets several songs stuck in my head simultaneously
I'm wearing my GISH sock monkey DISOBEY shirt for this
god I am so infinitely sad about the bunker set being gone now
the recap footage makes me want a pizza so badly
I miss meg
the only thing I'm looking forward to about this one is I know gen and danneel are in it
god I fucking love savage garden, I've been following darren hayes' posts throughout quarantine and his dog is so cute
I had registered for a meditation webinar with lisa berry but Real Life got in the way and I missed it :(
why do buckleming episodes always have this "metal GEAR?????" question and answer exchange, sam's like "wow! that's in latin!" no shit
well if they have to be "not stupid" that's a no-go because buckleming constantly have everyone holding an idiot ball
good on jack for not divulging details to dean
sergei's back i guess??? didn't cas almost kill him last time and he almost killed sam or something bullshit like that
dean interrupting cas makes my blood boil
it is nice to see ruby again
if it's stashed in hell, like... just go ask rowena? usually they've killed off all their friends who could help but in this case she's still there and she's in charge so what's the problem.
why do sam and dean always resort to violent threats? oh yeah it's buckleming
oh well thank fuck that jack is preoccupied with dean's forgiveness and castiel is making excuses for dean's angry outbursts
excuse me why can't jack feel things without a soul, angels feel things without a soul, I guess if FEELING THINGS like a human is the only thing that matters then dean is the king of all feelings for "feeling acutely" fuck off
I hate that all the cas and jack moments wind up being about the winchesters
god you can tell jensen was struggling to deliver that ultra forced "air abracadabra jet lag" line
I like the idea of a welcome reception, good for rowena
why wouldn't dean know that sam and ruby dated, he threw it in sam's face plenty enough
castiel knows what being sexually intimate is, he's not stupid
it really does feel like the end of an RPG though where they just walk into hell like "no big deal, we're level 99"
I JUST WANT CAS AND JACK TO TALK ABOUT THEMSELVES FOR ONCE
normally I'd be all about this as a trust exercise but I'm really very upset jack is being asked to nearly kill the only person who loves him (yes kelly too but A) she's not exactly around B) he sort of killed her too :c so that's gotta be tough)
also this plot was 100% stolen from yockey's episode 13x05
"what if I screw up?"
"oh well then I'll be lost forever" uhhhh fucking excuse me?? cas would not be so flippant with ASKING HIS CHILD TO KILL HIM, also jack brought him back last time (????????) and I realize jack can't use his powers without drawing chuck's attention but isn't he using them to nearly kill castiel
god i hate buckleming this writing is so sloppy
I guess we're back to saying bitch all the time again
I'm legit disappointed that rowena isn't throwing parties
god i've missed meg, i've missed rachel miner
I've missed ruby too
I guess this is just... uh, what, cas and crowley but really it's aziraphale and crowley but now it's jo and ruby? sort of? again?
I am so uncomfortable when the winchesters boss jack around and especially that this is framed to make it look like "lol jack killed cas while you were gone" can't wait for that to be held against jack
not ever gonna be okay with dean calling castiel an idiot
won't opening a rift get his attention
also I'm feeling weirdly vindicated that the sam from another universe keeps winning rock paper scissors
"you get... paid?"
I've been watching a lot of venture bros lately so I almost want this AU sam and dean to be along those lines lmao
sam looks really cute with a "man bun" but it wouldn't be a buckleming episode without violence to women and plenty of homophobia
yeah I knew instantly it was hellhounds, why wouldn't it be guarded
I like this fake "search the web" brand youtube with cat videos, adorable
put the metal thingy in your mouth, guys, it'll be like putting a coin on your tongue or something like that, buckleming are not very clever
trust fund sam and dean, sam's drinking beer with a pinky up. god.
we can't leave bustyasianbeauties behind can we, yep, still here insisting upon it
ah yeah there we go, the garden of eden. of course. sure. why not
jack IS an angel, he's half angel, is he allowed to claim that or what
I'm glad cas is standing up for himself a bit at least?
is this girl... supposed to be a More Different lilith or the serpent or something
oh i guess not there's a snake
the garden of eden just has like, bromeliads
"snake hissing" says the subtitle, it's a burmese python who's been handled enough to be on camera, sure okay
oh i guess the girl was a snake who is maybe lucifer after all. this is a deep cut, buckleming. you guys are academics
I'm glad jack thinks primarily of dean for some reason when he starts to hallucinate
why didn't they barricade the door with the wooden pews or that chair i can clearly see next to the door, why aren't dean and cas helping sam hold the door back while they wait, literally what the fuck
god i fucking hate buckleming. oh yeah just go to brazil. it's being run by bolsonaro but no big deal
oh i love this slate grey shirt on sam
kinda glad I waited until now to watch because I could not have handled months of the last aired words of SPN being Jack begging "Please forgive me" for something that was not his fucking fault, and them... not forgiving him, and it cutting to credits
also fucking like, do buckleming think angels don't have regrets just because they don't have souls? like. fuck. god i'm so mad
I need a palate cleanser

Bending and Mixing Genres in RPGs
In many systems, like Savage Worlds or Fate Core, genre is a mutable thing. Often the first question is “In which genre will play?”
Do you play a fantasy epic, a sci-fi game, a horror milieu?  If you are like me, you’ve done them all ad nauseum and you crave different.  That’s where bending and mixing genres comes in.  Here’s a simple technique.
First, explore the following 18 examples of genres and choose two to four of them as interesting to you and your group.  Second, I’ll step you through some examples of how to pull them all together into a single campaign or setting.
Asian: The heroes live in an Asian or Asian-flavored land, like China or Japan. There may be warrior monks, ninjas, samurai, peasants, rice fields, and ancient temples. The heroes will learn to respect honor, justice, family, and tradition.
Comedic: The heroes are satirical, ironic, or silly. The game will have an element of humor weaved intrinsically into it. There may be talking animals, singing candlesticks, bumbling heroes, puns, animated garbage, cartoons come to life, and spoofs of television or movies.
Detective: The heroes will meet great mysteries and solve difficult puzzles. They will come across seemingly impossible scenes and learn to make sense of the subtle clues. There may be riddles, murders, betrayal, crime scenes, clues, and secret societies.
Dystopian Future: The heroes live in the future, but things have gone wrong. Perhaps the corporations have grown too powerful, the government too strict, or the artificial intelligences have conspired to enslave humanity. Whatever the cause, the future is dark, dangerous, and unsafe. There may be secret societies, conspiracies, hidden rebellions, cameras everywhere, and mind-control technology.
Espionage: The heroes will work with or for a large agency engaged in spy work for a nation, a corporation, or other large entity. There may be disguises, deception, technology, assassinations, intricate plots, dinner parties, evening gowns and tuxedos, casinos, international travel, and faked passports. The heroes may find themselves in moral dilemmas if they are asked to take heroic actions.
Fantastical: The heroes live in a fantastical place. There may be witchcraft, divine seers, supernatural creatures, magical artifacts, and impossible cities in the clouds.
Far Future: The heroes live in a future separated from us by great time and possibly great distances as well. This is likely a future where we have settled the stars and explored the reaches of the galaxy. There may be aliens, starships, interstellar travel, planetary colonies, vast reaches of deathly-black space, lasers, and technology that may be indistinguishable from magic.
Historical: The heroes live some time in the past and their world is grounded in reality. The elements of their world are real, existed, and often well researched. They will not find the supernatural. Their challenges are the challenges that man has always faced: corruption, villainy, strife, and tragedy.
Horror: The heroes are adventuring in a scary world. There are creatures under the bed, in the closet, and outside the window. The things that go bump in the night are real and they have come for the heroes. There may be vampires, zombies, ghosts, goblins, old houses, cemeteries, howling on the moors, lonely country roads, suspense, and blood-curdling screams.
Medieval: The heroes live in the Middle Ages in either historical Europe or a European-flavored world. There may be castles, peasants, knights, troubadours, the ruins of a Roman empire, and vast wildernesses as yet unexplored.
Military: The heroes will work with or for a military organization engaged in active warfare with another group. They may have ranks and a clear chain of command within the group. There may be battles, war crimes, chaos in the fog of war, great ships, secret weapons, coded messages, and corrupt officers.
Modern: The heroes live in the modern era.  Civility abounds but as a thin sheen over a vicious world of great wars and political strife. There may be battlefields, airplanes, computers, technological advancements, and skyscrapers. The heroes will face existential, as well as physical, challenges.
Near Future: The heroes live in a future just around the corner for us today. Technology will be a natural, but small evolution from today’s recognized technology. There may be cybernetics, sophisticated handheld computers, low-resolution holographic displays, advanced weaponry, and hackers.
Prehistoric: The heroes live in a prehistoric wilderness.  Lawlessness and brutality are the norm. Lifespans are short, safety is an unknown, and the harsh world will throw many natural challenges at the heroes. There may be saber-toothed tigers, lumbering mammoths, fierce dinosaurs, and vast dark forests and caves to explore.
Super Hero: The heroes are the stuff of comic book legend.  They fight crime with superpowers no normal person can imagine. There may be capes, masks, criminal masterminds, secret lairs, rooftop vigilantes, police, henchmen, and brightly colored costumes.
Victorian: The heroes live in the Victorian era in either historical England or an English-flavored land. There may be beggars, steam-powered devices, the juxtaposition of rich and poor, overcrowded cities, carriages, parlors, and garden parties. Such a game will take place predominately in urban areas.
Western: The heroes live in the old west. There may be cowboys, Indians, sheriffs, saloons, trails, rocky foothills, wagons, prospectors, gunfights at high noon, and outlaws waiting just outside of town. It’s a rough place to live, begging to have order restored.
Wuxia: The heroes live in a world steeped in mystic martial traditions. Kung Fu and other unarmed arts abound. There may be secret Kung Fu techniques, old masters, bamboo forests, teahouses, dojos, mountaintop gurus, and fights atop darkened tile rooftops.
Now that you’ve read over the 18 genres above and selected a handful that you and your group like most, you can begin to create your mash-up.
Sit with your friends and think through all the ways you can incorporate the various genres into a single game. Ask yourself, what elements of each can co-exist.  Which cannot? Don’t be quick to give up. Some of the most interesting ideas might be waiting to be discovered by your group.
Here are three examples I came up with at random.
Detective, Horror, and Medieval: Imagine a game where the heroes are medieval detectives (a town constable, a nosey monk, a knight trying to protect his village, etc…) solving mysteries and facing the unknown horrors of the Dark Ages. Many horrors are supernatural, but we didn’t include the Fantastical genre element, so perhaps it’s true that, while the horrors they face are supernatural, the heroes are ordinary men. They fight the forces of supernatural evil armed with only their wits and what few tricks they’ve learned.
Prehistoric, Fantastical: Imagine a game where the heroes are savages in a realm dominated by dinosaurs and dragons, mammoths and mermaids. They fight not only to stave off the monsters of the world but to keep their place in it. Orcs, early competitors to humanity, seek to wipe them out and become the dominant species. Armed with spears, arrows, clubs, and primitive shamanistic magic, the heroes fight for the fate of humankind.
Dystopian Future, Espionage, Wuxia: Imagine a game where the heroes are spies in the service of a shadowy, anti-governmental organization (Agents of C.H.A.N.G.E.) seeking to take down the corrupt and overreaching world government (World Order). Using the skills taught to them, they seek out and fight the agents of World Order in incredible hand-to-hand fights. They avoid weapons because World Order has outlawed them.
Comedic, Fantastical, Modern: Imagine a game where the heroes are agents serving the powerful and secretive Lords of the Holidays. The Mighty Lord of the North (Christmas) does battle through his enslaved elves and clockwork-toy armies, with the other Lords; the Lord of Nightmares and his Throne of Bones (Halloween), the Large-Eared Lord of Wonder in his mystical Wonderland (Easter), The Sadist and his Succubae (Valentine’s Day), and others. The battle rages around us, but no one can know.
Try it yourself.  And don’t expect the first couple to be great. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you do, your gaming group will thank you for it.  And if you come up with a mash-up that is particularly unusual and interesting, feel free to hit me up to share.  I’d love to hear about the crazy adventures your new genre-busting heroes will go on!
Game on, friends!

(RF) Sands of Misery
March 5, 2025
After 23 years of conflict, the United States fell to the Taliban. After the Taliban re-emerged in even greater numbers they out fought U.S troops and completely took control of the country.
It only took two years for the Taliban to turn Iraq into a nuclear power. After successfully testing their first nuclear bomb, they got to work building an aircraft to house the bomb.
On June 17, 2023 they finally built the perfect aircraft. The Taliban knew that the US would immediately shoot down any hostile military aircraft entering their airspace. So they built a plane that perfectly resembled a common FedEx mail plane. The plan was that the plane would leave Iraq and deliver packages to Michigan, which happens to go through D.C on the way.
On August 5, the plane took off, entering the US with ease. At 3pm, they flew over D.C. They dropped the nuke over the White House and the Pentagon. The entire country, the entire world looked on in terror as waves of Taliban soldiers on hijacked fishing boats attacked ports all across the East coast.
The United States was completely caught off guard by the sudden attack, which is known as Operation Trojan Horse. Within a matter of months, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Maine, and the rest of the Eastern United States fell to the Taliban.
The Taliban used a series of gurillea warfare, seige tatics, and all out fire fights to gain terr territory. Their motto was "a house today, the state tomorrow". Slowly the Taliban crept deeper and deeper into the United States. They would use abandoned buildings as bases, hospitals, command posts, etc. They eventually crept into ranches and farms, during the night they would send two vans to their door steps, storm the house and kill everyone inside, then seize the farm. This tactic was called Operation Garden Weed.
After a year of fighting, the Taliban controlled the entire country. The American troops fought savagely, however they were outnumbered by the seemingly endless Taliban hordes.
The last platoon of US infantry men were hiding out in the mountains of Pacific Northwest, along with civilians who fled the regime. They held on hope that the country will return to normal one day.
But on March 5, 2025, that dream went up in flames. At 9am, an entire convoy of Taliban soldiers were marching towards the rebel's camp. The sun hadn't even rose up fully when gunfire and explosions disturbed the morning stillness. A private overlooked the slaughter from a tree house observation stand. He clutched an American flag in his left hand and an old 38 revolver in his right. A Taliban commander held a megaphone in his hands.
"Attention traitorous rebels, this area belongs to the Islamic Republic of America. Surrender now and you will not be harmed." The private chuckled. The rebels were being killed all around him. The commander was struck by a Taliban sniper. "I will never surrender you bastards!" The private shouted, taking shots at the troops below him. "Very well then, die with your country!" He shouted, pointing to the observation stand. A soldier armed with an RPG fired, blowing the stand to pieces. The private died instantly, his last moments on this planet proclaiming his loyalty forever. The world stood still in an erie quite, the last beacon of freedom was snuffed out. The sleeping giant is slained, lying on sands of revenge.

Agradecería saber a qué canales han intentado contactarse, pues aún no he recibido mensaje alguno.
