Can’t believe it was only a year ago, in May 2020, that we got blessed with The Half of It, and yet there were still people out there complaining about it being “barely queer” or that it was “queerbaiting”, or having the world’s most galaxy brain takes on it.

Yeah a movie centering on the alienation that racialised immigrants/poc in general experience in white rural towns in the US should be criticised for not being diverse enough--hello???!!!

If a movie is set in high school it must be a dramatic teenage movie, regardless of the treatment or story-telling and film-making mastery supporting it.
