Well, @anosmiciris came up with the concept and text and she gave me her amazing lineart and textures to work with. Then I added the bees, background and some color. Ribonucleotide Reductase Escherichia coli ribonucleotide reductase forms a tetramer with two alpha subunits (blue) and two beta subunits (green). A nucleotide (red) is bound in a regulatory site in this structure. Ribonucleotide reductase creates the building blocks of DNA DNA and RNA are almost identical in structure, but one small difference has big consequences. A single oxygen atom, which is missing in each DNA nucleotide, distinguishes DNA from RNA. While small, this missing oxygen makes DNA more stable, making it a good molecule for long-term storage of information. On the other hand, RNA is less stable. The hydroxyl group formed by the extra RNA oxygen makes it more susceptible to hydrolysis, so RNA often acts as a biological “flash drive,” storing temporary biological data that is discarded when no longer needed. November 14th is World Diabetes Day .

Here are three facts about Diabetes.

1) There are 3 types of diabetes :-

Type 1:- It is an autoimmune disease in which your body doesn't produce insulin by itself at all. This occurs because the immune system is attacking the cells in the pancreas that create insulin.

Type 2:- It caused when the body can't make enough insulin for the body .

Gestational :- It occurs only in women during pregnancy and goes away after the baby is borned

2) Diabetes can be managed well.

People with diabetes can live well in spite of their condition.

3) Diabetes is a main causes of blindness, amputation, kidney failure and other conditions.

If you don't managed your Diabetes well . It can get out of hand . It can lead to condition like diabetic retinopathy, which affects your sight and cause blindness.

I love posts that explain the way our brains trick us into we are decisions. Cognitive dissonance is one of those tricks, as explained by the above slideshow and the next bit of text by @dermdeets_med: “Cog-what?? 😅 Cognitive Dissonance is a mental discomfort that occurs when people have two conflicting beliefs (inconsistency). When people’s beliefs and behaviour don’t align, they attempt to relieve that discomfort by rejecting it or avoiding it altogether: “I don’t use products with fragrance or parabens. Why take the risk?” It’s as unreasonable as saying “I never go outside during the day because of the risk of skin cancer!” Things like sunscreen, UPF clothing, and seeking shade all minimize exposure. (Risk=Hazard X Exposure).” Another example of cognitively dissonant behaviour via @maximumskin: smokers who whinge about toxins in our food. Oh!
