Mortimer wasn’t at all a morning person. Leaving his home wasn’t even close to one of his favorite things, but the Citadel was important and it’d fall into complete and utter CHAOS if one of the two presidents didn’t show up. 

Thankfully, the Citadel is just one portal away from home. Getting up so early in the morning was the downside to this process. He got up around 5 in the morning, spent about thirty minutes getting ready for the day, spent another ten minutes saying goodbye to his still-sleeping honey, before Mortimer went out on his way. Stepping out into his office, Mortimer casually straightened his attire, humming to himself as he took a seat in the chair.

Stepping out of the portal AFTER him was one big, fluffy alien hyena. 

Now everything felt complete.

Aside from a certain hairdresser Rick standing in his office.

“Oh...didn’t notice you there.” Mortimer took a few silent minutes to correct a few folders and pens on his desk. “Do you need something in particular?”
