I want a silent spectator for my life. I want someone to watch my foolish antics, like when I stop to stare at every peculiar leaf and tree I find on my way, when I jump up and down at the smell of the first rain and wait for the rain only to dance with joy as the first drops of the season trickle down my face. I want someone to see the peculiar dreams I dream and the the way I look at the night stars as if I'm talking to them. I want someone to see how I talk to the moon (as if I'm talking to a random acquaintance I see everyday at work) about how it shows a different face every night.

I want to be seen without showing myself.

today my bf and i were talking about visiting my home for the holidays and i was (sadly) wondering aloud if i should cut my hair and our kid was like "why would you cut your hair??? your hair is cool" and not knowing how to explain it to him i said "my family doesnt think boys should have long hair" to which he went silent, wordlessly pulled out his phone and then swiftly held it out with a picture of keeanu reeves on his phone

Consciousness, indeed, is the greatest misfortune yet the most prized possession. As I have said before, a person only judges oneself by one's intentions rather than actions. This could be explained by one's consciousness.

More often than I would accept, I have realised things about myself, my weaknesses, my strengths, my reasons. I have very often found myself standing in front a mirror giving myself a pep talk and then suddenly having a moment of realisation. For example last week I when I was giving myself a talk about not falling in love stupidly, I realised that it was the core essence of ny personality. Whatever reasons I have, I crave love more than the people I compare myself with. Now that thought, the pep talk and the realisation were all fruits of consciousness.. maybe over consciousness. Only if I had it in me to turn this off and simply work non stop to achieve my goals. How much easier would it be if I just stopped wasting my time on all these thoughts which have no better purpose in the foreseeable future.

But what good will these goals be when I have attained them at the loss of myself? Do I even want to attain my goals if I have to lose my core? The consciousness that makes me more myself. What am I if I can't even realise that, if I can't even ask the question 'what am I'?

My consciousness is the thing that forms me and it is the very thing that can give me solace even if I haven't attained my goals. But would I give up my consciousness, my ability to think of myself and the things around me, for the sake of my own welfare- my goals? No. Not even it is scientifically tabulated and proven true to me. Why would I even continue to live like that?

And that makes me wonder- are my goals just for the sake of a social achievement to adorn my introductions with? If I can give them up so easily for a thing as trivial as consciousness, which I claim myself is sometimes detrimental to my welfare, are the goals really what I want?
