The voice reached Husk in his dreams - a messy tangle of painful flashbacks from the last seven years.

He was in Alastor's old home, the one he'd shared with the Radio Demon and Niffty after losing his soul. But everything was different, shifting, disorienting. Husk could hear the panicked cries of the maid, but every time he rounded a corner, it was never the room or hall he expected.

Niffty was somewhere nearby, alone, and afraid, and he couldn't help her.

And then he woke up.

Husk's eyes snapped open to the neurotic bug clambering into his bed and shaking him awake. His first, natural instinct, was to pull her against him in a tight hug as he sat up, eyes darting around for the threat.

"Who? What's goin' on, Niff?" he urged, checking her over for any signs of harm.
