(via "Alien Girl In Aan Artificial World" Long Sleeve T-Shirt for Sale by HelenGie)
This design is a combination of a futuristic and natural landscape. On the front, you can see a girl alien surrounded by wild plants, giving her a mysterious and intriguing look. In the background, there is a city full of tall skyscrapers and orange clouds that resemble theater scenery.

I know I was supposed to post something around Halloween but I'm ignoring that this year (maybe I'll upload a picture of my costume within the next few days) in favour of like,,,
Why don't we ever talk about the Darkest Day? The most recent one that happened within almost every living person's memory???
I'll tag this with all the appropriate tags so folks don't have to read this if they don't want to, but holy shit I haven't seen anyone talk about this since it happened???
Like,,, it's a story that we heard as little kids, the worst thing that ever happened to our region, a terrifying period of time that destroyed livelihoods by blocking the sun from the sky and making our Pokémon companions huge, an enormous Pokémon (a monster, they'd said. Bigger than the tallest scyscraper, coiling into the shape of a hurricane, bright red like the beams it ripped from the ground beneath our feet, a huge, gaping maw at the centre of the enormous hand-like structure that made up its head, stronger than anything we could have ever imagined) draining energy from the earth and poisoning the land. I used to have nightmares as a tiny child about this legend that we never really stopped talking about. As you get older, you reason that it's just an old story, that it didn't actually happen, and even if it did it's unlikely that anything that huge will happen again, even as you hear whispers of terrible events happening in other regions, yknow?
But then it did happen again.
We're lucky as hell that it only lasted for the better part of a day, that our champions (former and current) were able to fight it off?? Obviously there wasn't a huge amount of information given to the public other than "chairman rose is now a wanted criminal for causing this" and "yeah that huge fucking gigantimaxed Pokémon you all saw was real and very dangerous and just as terrifying as the legends, and is now in the possession of a 14 year old".
Seeing the sky go dark, the red beams of light, the massive Pokémon everywhere, with no sign of whether or not it'd be fixed, no word from our government other than "stay inside, the champion has it handled". I was scared for the safety of my family, my friends, my home and everything that I've ever known. Hell, the little kids I babysat when I was in secondary school were at the forefront of it, a boy that I grew up with from when we were littlr babies fought against it head-on. No matter how miraculous it was that they fixed it, it was fucking terrifying, and I haven't seen a single person from Galar talk about it here.
I'm just tired of people pretending it wasn't a big deal, like it wasn't the scariest thing most of us will ever experience. It felt like the ground beneath our feet was being ripped up, and for several weeks after, we were still dealing with the aftermath. It's still affecting us. The power vacuum from chairman rose and a pretty sizeable chunk of Macro Cosmos' higher ups being exposed as corrupt, a new champion and the old one becoming the head of the league, the retirement of our professor in favour of a new one (a good one, but a new one nonetheless). So much happened within the span of like 3 months and nobody's talking about how fucking scary it was.
Anyway, sorry for the heavier subject after being gone for a while, it's just been in my head for a bit, and I figured I'd talk about it here, if nothing else than to maybe just get it off my chest.

Had a dream today. I don't remember it perfectly, but Tsukasa was struggling with reaching something on the stage because he was too short? And I think it was important for some role of his, like he had to jump up and grab something, but it was too high and they couldn’t have it lower. And he was complaining about it, that if only he were like a centimetre or two taller, he'd manage to reach it.
Then Rui came in saying something that he has a perfect invention that can help that could help Tsukasa grow.
Something something I don't remember, but Rui brings up a kind of a laser beam????? That apparently should like, activate? something in Tsukasa's body that would cause a sudden growth spurt?? (Idk) He was saying it shouldn’t be more than a few cm. And he points it at Tsukasa, who's then like wait wait I don't think it's a good idea anymore-- But it's too late and Rui fired it at him.
And instead of growing up, he started getting BIGGER. Like, the WHOLE of him. And bigger and bigger AND BIGGER AND BIGGER AND BIGGER AND BIGGER and with Rui's quiet "oh dear" they were looking at a GIANT, SEVERAL-BUILDING TALL Tsukasa who was just staring at them from above where he nearly touched clouds incredulously before screaming "RUI!!!". And apparently his voice got enchanced by this transformation too because the SHEER LOUDNESS OF IT made it that it must’ve resonated like several kilometres away. I think nene said smth along the lines of. "I knew he was too loud before, but this is stretching it"
I remember that Tsukasa tried desperately to NOT STAND OUT LIKE A SCYSCRAPER IN THE MIDDLE OF PXL and like, trying to crouch or kneel around the Wonder Stage but it was hard to even make enough space for his knees without stepping on and crushing some trees or seats. He eventually managed it, but even then he was taller than the stage and trees and still visible. And it was just him GLARING at Rui with an eye the size of his torso at least because when he tried to talk it was still way too loud and they were all thinking of a way to get him back to being small and what in the WORLD malfunctioned in this invention Rui.
I woke up then

Yeah no thanks.
I'll rather walk down, then be suspended mid air halfway a scyscraper. I've seen way to many videos of construction workers playing jokes on the poor person inside the shit box, to be able to feel at peace in this one.

Circe couldn't remember when she fell asleep or exactly what lulled her into a soft slumber. All she knew was that Regalia was beside her in a slowly shifting landscape. The warm farmhouse from earlier had aged drastically. Abandoned and almost forgotten thanks to time itself. Farmlands turned into a widely stretched out city with scyscrapers.
"I'm here honey. Your feet are stitched and cleaned up." Circe slowly inched closer to hug Regalia from behind and lean her chin at the nape of her neck to rest in silence while everything kept shifting around them. There was such a warm sensation to the embrace. As if their souls had taken physical forms. She was wearing a white flowy dress in a thin material that barely left anything to the imagination. Circe's black hair fell down along her shoulder as she listened to the gentle beating of Regalia's heart.
Every sensation was part of Regalia's dreams or memories. Some parts were probably wishes or imagination creating details that could have happened. Possibilities from other paths that might have happened if other choices had been made. Emotions shifted from peaceful to curiosity and awe. There was a whiff of longing with a small hint of regret.
"It was another time, another you." Circe whispered in a tender voice before stealing a kiss on the cheek. "I know. I can feel it all around us. It was so peaceful." The longing of yesterday was only natural with beings who had met many hardships. They both had been shaped by violence and destruction for a very long time.
"There is still time to create beautiful moments before its time to leave. We can do and create whatever we want in here." She nudged their cheeks together while swaying back and forth. "We could have our own wedding here and it would be as perfect as we want it to be." There was a playfulness to her voice as she kept whispering.

In the dream realm Regalia remained, watching over the farm. It had changed so much, it was difficult to believe that she had once been a part of its simplicity. The once small barn had grown into a colossal structure that had swallowed the house she had once lived in. The fields had been replaced with a sprawling city. It was as if the farm had been consumed by the very ambition she had once despised in humans. Yet, here she was, feeling a strange sense of pride as she saw how the land she had once toiled had grown.
The air was filled with the scent of metal and the murmur of distant machines. The serenity of the countryside had been replaced by the symphony of progress, a cacophony of sounds that she had never appreciated before. As she wandered through the city, the buildings grew taller and the streets more crowded. Yet, amidst the chaos, she felt a pulse of life, a vibrancy that she hadn’t felt in a very long time. It was as if the land itself had been reborn, reaching for the sky with a determination that mirrored her own.
The city was a labyrinth of concrete and glass, a stark contrast to the rolling hills and endless sky she had known in her past life. Yet, she couldn’t deny the allure of the lights that danced in the night, the promise of new beginnings that each day brought with it. The farm she had once loved had grown into something more than she had ever imagined, a bastion of hope in a world that had grown increasingly cold and indifferent.
Regalia’s eyes, now Circe’s eyes, took in the sight of the farmhouse that had been her home. It was almost unrecognizable beneath layers of dust and debris, but she could still make out the outline of the porch where she had spent countless hours watching the sunset. The apple tree she had loved was gone, replaced by a towering skyscraper that cast a shadow over the very spot where she had felt the warmth of human kindness. It was a poignant reminder of the passage of time, a silent testament to the relentless march of progress that had left her and her simple life behind.
“This is wonderful … but it is not home.” She says softly. “I ruined this place, what it could be, it will never be.” She said, as the past, this place was wonderful, and what she saw, is what it could have become with time and effort, but everyone died, because of her. “I was happy here.” Maybe the only time in her life she was happy. “But it is over, now we are in the shit, and we have work to do once my body is fully healed.”

Antonio Mora
Tumblr media
Antonio Mora is a Photographer. He uses editing to create a combination or portraiture and landscape. This would make an incredible front cover for 'Final Girl,' incorperating the scyscraper she is trapped in with her face would be a good way to demonstrate what is happening in the work.

"but we'll be a green city." you're not a green city if you had to pour concrete in the ocean to make an artificial peninsula, or if you're based on cryptocurrencies, or if you tear down acres of forests to plant a singular tree on a top of a scyscraper.
smart cities seem like a very scary concept.
