I guess none of us expected the scene to go beyond a kiss and fade out. I certainly wasn't. Having to suppress a surprised gasp, because I was not alone in the restaurant, was all part of the fun of watching the telenovela in public. Still, I could not hide the fact that I was beaming like a lunatic while thinking: 'You still have it in your bones to take the ground from under our feet, novelita'. I knew they would take advantage of the red light, but never in this way.

Apart from the fact that it was the first time they fully displayed sexual pleasure - the abuelitas at home will have no doubt about what was happening - the scene as a whole is just perfect. But from the moment it goes dark to the moment it leaves us on the brink of Fina's bliss, it's magical.

In the end, what actually got under my skin was the music. Without that perfectly aligned piece of music, the effect would not have been the same. It would still have been beautiful and sexy, but nowhere near as emotional.

I was in awe, not just because of the description of Mafin's love, but mostly because of the way in which the description was written and executed. Well done, team. Well done. Thank you.
