Voidspawn and the Hunter
Recently, @iteratorsex and I discovered that Voidspawn behave somewhat differently for the Hunter compared to other slugs. I decided to do some digging to figure out exactly what the differences are, and thought I'd present them here. There are a few different ways you can encounter Voidspawn in Rain World:
First of all, there are a number of rooms in Shaded Citadel where free-swimming Voidspawn spawn naturally. Specifically, they swim towards SH_D02 (the room with Monster Kelp and a karma flower at the bottom of the region) and mill about there. These Voidspawn do not appear at all for the Hunter.
Next, In the caverns beneath the Depths, Voidspawn are seen swimming towards and down into the Void Sea. These Voidspawn behave identically on all slugs, with some slight adjustments due to the state of Subterranean in the Saint's campaign.
Finally, there are the Voidspawn Eggs, small, round objects that can appear at specific locations throughout Shaded Citadel, Subterranean, and Shoreline. These locations are fixed across all campaigns, but for the Hunter, each individual egg only has a 6% (~1/17) chance of actually appearing. This is compared to a 100% chance on all other slugs. When the player touches a Voidspawn Egg, its Voidspawn is released and slowly wanders offscreen.
Normally, the Voidspawn released from eggs make their way out of the room through a designated exit, one chosen by Rain World's developers when they placed that particular Voidspawn Egg. However, for the Hunter all Voidspawn released from eggs are aimless: each one swims offscreen in a different, completely random direction. In the screenshots above, I artificially added many Voidspawn Eggs to a shelter. As you can see, for the Survivor they all swim in generally the same direction, while for the Hunter they each have a different heading, and far fewer Voidspawn spawned overall.
So, what does any of this mean?
I'm not sure, though it's all clearly very intentional. I can think of two general ways to explain the differences, at least. Either:
There is something special about the Hunter that makes it more difficult for them to see Voidspawn. It could be their disease, or related to whatever prevents them from encountering Karma Flowers.
Voidspawn are simply rarer outside of Subterranean prior to the Hunter's campaign. Perhaps the reactivation of Looks to the Moon drew more Voidspawn to the adjacent regions.
What do you all think? Which sort of explanation do you lean towards? Any ideas why the Hunter's Voidspawn should be so aimless compared to other campaigns?

i need to watch more horror movies so please drop your favourites 🙏🙏
GLADLY!!!! These are in no particular order, or category… just a list of horror (& adjacent) films that feel special to me. Some of these are genuine works of art, and others are just campy fun. Some of them are flaming garbage. Have fun figuring out which are which!
- House of 1000 Corpses (& sequels: The Devil’s Rejects, Three from hell) (Ho1000C is just a blast, campy and vibrant and fun— while the sequels are a lot more grounded and gritty in tone. The characters really make this franchise. Rob Zombie is great at writing hate-lovable bastards.)
- Eraserhead (a fever-dream-nightmare perfectly translated into film. Surrealist imagery that will permanently etch itself into your grey matter. I hope you like long shots and ambient droning sounds! I love films you have to decode in order to understand.)
- Donnie Darko (more ‘psychological thriller’ than ‘horror’, but god I love this film. If you like unreliable narrators and themes of unreality, blurred lines between the supernatural and psychosis… watch Donnie Darko.)
- I Saw The TV Glow (made me ugly cry until I threw up and gave me a headache so bad I couldn’t sleep afterwards. VERY effective psychological horror if you struggle with identity and dissociation/ dpdr. Like, dangerously effective.)
- Pearl (standout fav of this trilogy, though X and MaXXXine are also great. I am in love with Pearl as a character. Insane writing, insane acting, and it’s shot so well… ooghsgdh I love this film…)
- The Lighthouse (Damn ye! Let Neptune strike ye dead Winslow! HAAARK! Hark Triton, hark! Bellow, bid our father the Sea King rise from the depths full foul in his fury! Black waves teeming with salt foam to smother this young mouth with pungent slime, to choke ye, engorging your organs til' ye turn blue and bloated with bilge and brine and can scream no more - only when he, crowned in cockle shells with slitherin' tentacle tail and steaming beard take up his fell be-finned arm, his coral-tine trident screeches banshee-like in the tempest and plunges right through yer gullet, bursting ye - a bulging bladder no more, but a blasted bloody film now and nothing for the harpies and the souls of dead sailors to peck and claw and feed upon only to be lapped up and swallowed by the infinite waters of the Dread Emperor himself - forgotten to any man, to any time, forgotten to any god or devil, forgotten even to the sea, for any stuff for part of Winslow, even any scantling of your soul is Winslow no more, but is now itself the sea!)
-Carrie (the original is, of course, the best… but the 2013 iteration is also surprisingly good. She is so normal girl don’t worry about it)
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (SPECIFICALLY 2, but watch the first one also) (Bill Moseley as Chop Top… Oingo Boingo on the soundtrack… sexual tension with the chainsaw… the dinner scene… Leatherface <3… it has it all…)
- Society (Do not go into this expecting a good solid film. Go into it expecting to have a very confusing, VERY FUN time. One million bonus points for The Shunting.)
- Sleepaway Camp (another campy cult classic. The most wtf acting, wtf dialogue, wtf line delivery, WTF AMOUNT OF MEN IN BOOTY SHORTS, wtf kills and wtf ending. Also diversity win!)
- Slither (now that’s what I can body horror! This film is outrageous it’s insane it’s… goopy… lots of slugs. Great mix of horror and comedy imo)
- Ready Or Not (a “death game” premise with an almost cartoonish quality? The characters are all… all such characters, they did great fleshing out a large-ish cast. They did a great job in general. Also funny. Also WICKED set design.)
- Hereditary (a predictable answer, but I think it earns the praise. It’s uniquely effective at being… horrifying, as a horror film. The sense of dread in this film is something special.)
- Silence of the Lambs (another obligatory mention. It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.)
- Terrifier, 1 2 and 3! (obligatory Terrifier franchise mention. Art the Clown is just a silly little guy. God forbid a clown have hobbies.)
#this is one hell of a varied list lmao#I like films that are unfiltered outrageous and strange. sometimes that means incredible works of art. sometimes that means society.#horror movies#horror film#horror#bad horror movies#favourite horror movies

Galantis ⋆。𖦹 °.🐚⋆❀˖°
A Fan-Made Pirate101 World 🐌💧💻
This post will cover the basics and main inspirations of my fanmade Pirate101 World, Galantis! I hope you all enjoy~
𓂃𓂃𓂃𓊝 ࿐𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓊝 ࿐𓂃𓂃𓂃
Overview 🌊⋆。°்⋆
Galantis is a closed-off world in the Spiral, locked by the current Emperor; and guarded by his army. If a person is able to reach Galantis, they will discover a technologically advanced, oceanic paradise; hidden away from the rest of the world. The Stormgate to Galantis is located in MooShu, but is inaccessible to any travelers.
The initial reason for Galantis's closed borders was due to the Polarian War. The Emperor did not wish to get involved in the conflict, and feared involvement due to the relative closeness between Galantis and its neighboring world of MooShu. So, the borders were closed, and the Emperor ignored the outside world; instead focusing on the personal development of his nation through machinery and economy.
.•⋅˚₊The People ଳ ‧₊˚
Since many Pirate101 worlds, and to a further extent, Wizard101 worlds, have many diverse species of people; and Galantis is no exception. The people of Galantis are from the class Gastropoda; aka, slugs and snail-adjacent animals. They are specifically based on the marine variants of these animals, sea slugs and sea snails.
The current ruling Emperor of Galantis, Emperor Gyeong Glaucus, is a type of Glaucus Altanticus (See image below).

Sea slugs and sea snails are very diverse animals from species to species, and this is reflective of the population of Galantis.
𓂂 ·˚ •Culture 🌊🪸
Galantis is inspired by East Asian culture, specifically South Korea and North Korea. Another main inspiration for Galantis is the legend of Atlantis, a city from Greek mythos written by Plato.
One major invention from Galantis is a form of energy source known as "Bio-Lumi Fuel". Bio-Lumi Fuel is harvested from the organic plant-life from the World, and is what powers a majority of Galantis's technology. Due to the power of Bio-Lumi Fuel, the Galantians have been able to invent their own forms of machines, robots, and screens.
Therefore, culture and trends are very mainstream. Many different styles of fashion have rose to popularity through the influences of music idols in the music industry.
Sea Angelic 🐌🪽
A fashion style known as "Sea Angelic" was popularized by the musical idol "Sea Angel" or Cheonsa Clione. This fashion style is more traditional, and takes inspiration from traditional Korean clothing and acessories. Such as the usage of the hanbok and norigae.
Cyber Screen 🐌💻
One of the most mainstream styles of fashion in Galantis: popularized by the most well-known musical idols, Nembrotha and BLUE SCREEN. This style is more akin to the styles of Cyber Punk, mixed with modernized fashion. The main elements of this style is the usage of the color blue, and the heavy reliance on Galantian technology.
These are only a few of the most popular fashion styles in this World.
˖°🌊⋆Landscape🐚🫧
Galantis has two main Skyways, Palansaeg Skyway and Nudibranch Skyway. It only has one Stormgate, located in Palansaeg Skyway; leading to MooShu. The land is a purplish-blue tint, and the skies are a deep purple tone. The player is able to see jellyfish-like animals floating around the Skyways.
Palansaeg Skyway (Korean: 파란색 스카이웨이)
The main Skyway of Galantis, containing the capital city, Soul City. Soul City is very urbanized, utilizing Bio-Lumi technology. The music industry flourishes in Soul City, allowing for the world as a whole to improve its economy.
Fun Fact: "Palansaeg" is the Korean for the phrase "Blue". So, Palansaeg Skyway roughly translates to: "Blue Skyway".
Nudibranch Skyway
The secondary Skyway of Galantis, mostly inhabited by farmers, religious figures, and those who wish to escape the bustling Palansaeg Skyway. The main industry in Nudibranch Skyway is food production, mainly algae, cnidarians, corals, and sponges.
Fun Fact: "Nudibranch" is a scientific term referring to sea slugs. It means "naked gills" in Greek.
⋆˚࿔How Outsiders View Galantis᭡.
Galantis, due to its closed borders, has remained in obscurity in the minds of the average people of the Spiral. There are some Galantian refugees found in MooShu, but not anywhere else.
The Armada, however, has heard rumors of Galantis's advanced technology; and wants to find a way to access the World to help set up an alliance between the Armada and Galantis.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this little lore-dump of my Pirate101 World <3

I adore the new underwater creatures in Fontaine omg I cannot shut up about them they are SO cute
Like look at them, I'm 90% sure these r sea slugs or based off sea slugs, because they very strongly remind me of the blue glaucus and cyerce elegans nudibranches. I'm so excited to see them in game, they look so cuddly even though they probably aren't....
more of me rambling abt fontaine creatures below vvv
And the jellyfish!! They look so squishy, and also they've got big dumbo octopus vibes bc of those ear flaps, it makes them look even cuter
The manta rays r also so cool.. the bottom two look matching and they kind of remind me of the divda rays in enkanomiya??
also omg look at the seahorses.. the big one lowkey reminds me a bit of a dragon as well, which reminds me of how a lot of dragons are depicted with pearls in China, and the eastern myth of how seahorses are actually baby dragons..
And the lil baby seahorses too!! I love how they look like they have little capes, and the variations in their designs make me think of other sea animals, such as the blue tang or the emporer angelfish for the two seahorses on the left, and a shark for the one on the right!
And them! They look like somebody combined seals with manatees and created these lil guys... They look extra friendly and soft n squishy
AND THE OTTERS... look at them!! They are so so adorable, but they also lowkey give me beaver vibes, probably because of their tail and maybe a little bit of how they're shaped? Either way they're quite charming and I hope that we can catch or befriend them cause <333
The gulls are just Neat <3 They look a lot less mean than real seagulls, like they're just some silly lil dudes. They also remind me of corvisquire and corviknight from pokemon a lil bit? But maybe that's just me
Lastly, the umbrellafinches are just adorable. You cannot tell me they don't look like those photos where people put flowers on the heads of little ducklings that make it look like they're wearing a cute little flower hat.
Actually a bonus if u actually decided to read lol, but I noticed these in the background of one of the shots from the livestream?
In the livestream the way they move is w/ undulating fins (think of how a cuttlefish's head fins move, or how stingrays do) which lead me to think that they're inspired by stingrays? Maybe even are some sort of stingray-adjacent thing? But tbh they also kind of remind me of nudibranches too with their pattern and the little horns on them so who knows... but oh man am I excited for them and all the other new lil creatures..
#genshin impact#genshin#genshin livestream#4.0 livestream#livestream#special program#fontaine#ramblings#i just really like sea creatures ok

@seases
bruh random comment but i like the set up where the sluggy bits on the head are a separate “plate” than the sluggy bits on the rest of the body… assume its based on flo but construction-wise reminds me more of sheldon or other plate shelled beasts. it works it works
yay thank you! Slug Design is heavily based on Flow, yea, since she's the only one to reference off. I've been struggling with how to balance The Slug and how to justify its shape functionality wise for a while and I've finally gone "wait, we already have slugs (different ones) on land"

Evolution-wise it makes more anatomical sense to lean further into the garden slug adjacent look where the entire top part of the skin is contiguous but it being an extra separate flap on the head is the Flow Influence.. I think the primary function of both the extra skin and, like, "hair" bits are to provide extra non-essential surfaces to sacrifice to predators in the event of an attack. The Terrestrial Sea Slug is not a creature that is capable of being fast nor is it particularly equipped for combat and so it must build itself into a soft tank. Reverse engineer a shell you no longer have
Hi it's Flow also. I'm not good at being completely faithful to the ingame proportions but I imagine you do get some pretty top-heavy slugs if they've got a lot of fat stored in the defensive 'mantle' layer. Conversely it also means that really skinny slugs can have very very reduced 'mantles' (which is the vibe for Slug Karla). Idk it's Thoughts it's Sloughts (Slug Thoughts)
I've been thinking about terrestrial sea slugs (lmao) again which obviously means I draw my splatsona. They get their own last name now
through their powers they can carry on my legacy of wearing ski jackets in May

Why a turtle?
Have you ever found yourself wondering exactly how many times the Mighty Nein polymorphed an enemy into a turtle or turtle adjacent creature? Or whether Jester casts polymorph on herself or others more? Well, wonder no longer! Today I am here to present a whole fuck ton of charts and statistics related to the Mighty Nein’s usage of polymorph!
Let’s get some disclaimers out of the way before we begin. Firstly, I would like to thank @critrolestats for their spells cast tables, making gathering the information for this a lot easier. All of the math below however is done by me, and as I am just a single person, it is greatly subject to human error, so if you find some discrepancy, shhh don’t worry about it, this is for fun. There are also several usages of polymorph that I have grouped under a certain category fairly arbitrarily, and I will explain what I mean when we get there. Lastly, when a spell is cast through Jester’s Ring of Spell Splitting, it only counts for one casting, which is what is being counted here. For example, the Nein have cast a spell turning a creature into a giant eagle 45 times, but there have been about 52 polymorphed eagles.
With that out of the way, on with the stats!
Starting with the big one, here’s every single use of polymorph by the Mighty Nein!
[ID: A bar chart labelled “Frequency”. It has 29 bars, each listing a different creature the Mighty Nein have polymorphed a target into, sorted by frequency. The largest bar is Giant Eagle, with 45, followed by Giant Owl with 19. There are 15 bars which only have one casting.]
As you can see, by far the most common creature is the Giant Eagle, which makes sense because the Nein tend to use it for transportation. Transportation is the reason behind the vast majority of their polymorph castings, but it’s certainly not the only one. In addition for aide in crossing large distances, or traversing difficult terrain, they also employ the spell to incapacitate enemies, scout out an area, survive a challenging combat encounter, blend in with the locals and just to let off some steam. Here’s a breakdown!
[ID: A pie chart titled “Reasons for Polymorphing”. It has 6 sections, labelled Transport, Incapacitation, Fun, Combat, Reconnaissance, and Disguise. Transport is the largest section, labelled with the number 72.]
Let’s have a look at those categories in closer detail, shall we? We’ll start with the big one.
[ID: A bar chart titled “Transport: Favoured Forms”. There are 9 bars, labelled Giant Eagle, Giant Owl, Spider, Orca, Dire Honey Badger, Sparrow, Ermine, Shark and Dragonfly. Their values are, in order, 42, 19, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, and 1.]
Some quick clarifications:
Jester polymorphed herself into a dire honey badger in order to excavate a tunnel to travel to Xhorhas. While it wasn’t strictly for transporation, it fit best into this category than the others, and I wasn’t going to make a new category just for it.
Caleb polymorphed himself into a sparrow to save himself from falling into the depths of the Aeorian ruins, and is once again in this category for lack of a better place for it.
Caleb polymorphed himself into an ermine to cross an ice bridge stealthily. Also, the savvy of you may have noticed that “Ermine” is not listed in the first table. That is because I grouped it together with “Weasel” for simplicity’s sake.
Caleb polymorphed himself into a shark in order to give through the reverse waterfall on Rumblecusp.
Jester polymorphed Caduceus into a dragonfly so he could be carried by Beau across a bridge in the underdark.
That’s all great but what about the turtles! Ok, ok, here are the turtles.
[ID: A pie chart titled “Incapacitation: Favoured Forms”. It has 12 sections, labelled Orca, Bat, Sloth, Cow, Sea Slug, Octopus, Turtle, Snow Bunny, Giant Tortoise, Sea Turtle, Mackrel and Weasel. Each section has only one casting, except for turtle which has 3.]
The Mighty Nein have polymorphed an enemy into a turtle specifically 3 times, and a turtle adjacent creature 5 times. But they do actually show a surprising variety of forms in this category! It isn’t ALL turtles.
Moving onto the next category, we have combat. Everyone’s favourite, the most memorable.
[ID: A pie chart titled “Combat: Favoured Forms”. It has 5 sections, labelled Tyrannosaurus Rex, Ape, Shark, Mammoth and Spider. Ape is the largest section with 8, followed by Mammoth with 4, then T-Rex with 3. Shark and Spider both only have 1.]
While ape is the largest in this category, it isn’t entirely Caleb! I decided to count the singular instance of Jester turning herself into an ape here, mainly because “to pluck a threshold crest from a ceiling in a horrifying flesh city” doesn’t fit neatly into any of them. Additional notes are that Jester has actually only been a mammoth twice, the other two are Beau and Caduceus. Also the shark is for that one time on Rumblecusp Caleb turned himself into a shark to eat a fire eel.
Up next is reconnaissance, a word which I hate spelling.
[ID: A pie chart titled “Reconnaissance: Favoured Forms”. It has 3 sections, labelled Giant Eagle, Bat and Moth. Eagle has 4, Bat 3 and Moth 1.]
The moth has exactly as many castings as its intelligence! I don’t have anything witty to say here, so onto the next one!
Polymorphs cast just for fun!
[ID: A pie chart titled “Fun: Favoured Forms”. It has 4 sections, labelled Cat, Ape, Golden Retriever and Puffin.]
Whatever arguments one may make about Caleb turning into a puffin to sled down a cliff, I will say that he literally did not NEED to do that, he could have walked down perfectly fine like everyone else, he just wanted to be a puffin. And he polymorphed himself into an ape once just to scare the syphilis bandits, which while it COULD count for combat, all he did was steal some of their stuff, so really it was just for fun. He’d already been informed that it wasn’t a dangerous situation. It’s also worth noting that Caleb has never polymorphed himself into a cat.
And finally, just for completion’s sake: Disguise.
[ID: A circle titled “Disguise: Favoured Forms”. It has the number 3 written on it.]
They polymorphed Beau into a tiefling 3 times in Xhorhas. Now, I know that per RAW you cannot polymorph someone into a humanoid. However, it was allowed at the table, and I am just recording the stats from their game. Don’t shoot the messenger.
That concludes their reasons behind polymorphing, and which forms they used, but wait! There’s more!
Let’s have a look at which creatures each caster preferred.
[ID: A bar chart titled “Caleb Polymorphed Forms”. It has 13 bars, listed every creature Caleb has polymorphed himself into in desceding order. They are labelled Eagle, Owl, Ape, Spider, Bat, Shark, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Orca, Cetus, Puffin, Ermine, Golden Retriever, and Sparrow. Eagle has 25; Owl 11; Ape 7; Spider 3; Bat, Shark and Tyrannosaurus Rex 2; and everything else 1.]
As you can see, outside of giant birds for transportation, Caleb’s preferred form is Capeleb. Which, I’m pretty sure we didn’t need a table to know, but it’s nice to see anyway.
Let’s look at Jester.
[ID: A bar chart titled “Jester Polymorphed Forms”. It has 10 bars, labelled Eagle, Owl, Dire Honey Badger, Cat, Moth, Mammoth, Bat, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spider, and Ape. Eagle has 19; Owl 9; Dire Honey Badger and Cat 2; and everything else only 1.]
Jester is far less likely to polymorph herself outside of transportation than Caleb, and there’s a few reasons for that. The first is that Caleb can polymorph himself for free once a day, meaning he can just use it for fun. The second is that as a cleric, Jester has a lot of other concentration spells that are often a better option in difficult situations, and it frees her up to cast healing when needed, which she cannot do if she is a mammoth. That being said, she has turned herself into a cat twice just for fun.
Now, let’s have a look at the rest of the Nein!
[ID: A bar chart titled “The Mighty Nein”. It has a bar representing each member of the Mighty Nein and how many times they have been the target of a polymorph spell. Yasha has 9, Veth 2, Jester 30, Fjord 1, Caleb 58, Caduceus 3, and Beauregard 4.]
Mr Tealeaf and Essek are excluded from this simply because they have never been the target of a polymorph spell. Lucien has once, if you wish to include him. A fun note here is that while Caleb has polymorphed Jester once, she has never cast it on him.
Also, just for fun, of Yasha’s 9 polymorphs, she has been a giant eagle 7 times, an orca once and a giant owl once.
Many of the spells that targeted a member of the Mighty Nein were cast through the Ring of Spell Splitting, so here’s a look at how many times they’ve been targeted by a split spell.
[ID: A bar chart titled “Ring of Spell Splitting Targets”. It has 6 bars, labelled Jester, Yasha, Caduceus, Fjord, Lucien and Veth. Jester has been targeted 9 times, Yasha 7, and everyone else once.]
At a certain point, the Nein settled into a rhythm of Caleb casting polymorph on himself and Jester hitting herself and Yasha to turn into giant eagles to travel long distances.
My final chart for you today is a comparison of how often each caster targets themselves vs others.
[ID: A stacked column chart titled “Polymorph Target”. It has two bars labelled Jester and Caleb, indicating how many times they have cast polymorph. Each bar is broken into sections divided by the target of the spell. Caleb’s bar has two sections, the larger section labelled “self” with 58 castings, and the smaller sectioned labelled “other” with 21 castings. Jester’s bar has three sections, labelled “self” with 29 castings, “other” with 11 castings, and “self and other” with 9″.]
I could potentially break this down further into whether the “Other” targeted by the spell is an ally or an enemy, but I didn’t. Mainly because Lucien and the Ring of Spell Splitting makes that a little messy. But for anyone interested in that, Jester has succesfully polymorphed an enemy 7 times [or 8 if you include Lucien], and Caleb has done so 8 times.
Some final closing stats, just for fun!
There were 9 failed attempts at a polymorph spell!
Caduceus was the first member of the Mighty Nein outside of the casters to be the target of a polymorph spell
Fjord was the last.
Twice, the Mighty Nein have had to polymorph a creature a second time because it was still causing trouble as a turtle adjacent creature.
[ID: two images of a speadsheet with 5 columns and 2 rows each. The first image shows Caleb polymorphing a giant into a giant tortoise in episode 60 so it won’t kill them, and then immediately polymorphing it into a turtle because it was doing too much damage. The second image shows Jester polymorphing the dragon turtle in episode 100 into a sea turtle so that it’ll stop chasing them, followed by Caleb polymorphing it into a sea slug because it was too fast as a sea turtle.]
And that is all I have for you all today! I hope you enjoyed the post, I’ve certainly had fun recording the Nein’s polymorphed adventures.

To continue the pokerwby ask what would may and nora’s teams be
Ooh this is a tough one.
So May grew up in the desert and a lot of her pokemon are themed that way... except for one~ All her pokemon are evolved due to the harsh nature of the climate she's from.
Florges: A flower fairy pokemon that May has had for ages was a gift to her from a certain blonde dork when they were children. Her longest companion and best friend.
Scolipede: Another pokemon not from the desert, but desert adjacent. A female that likes to move around.
Cacturne: Cool and false aloof, the big brother of the group always watching out for May.
Flygon: Goofy, loveable, a little out of it.
Krookodile: Battle hardened, tough as nails, but a big softy who only wants the best for May.
Braviary: Normally cowardly, but a cowardly lion indeed! He's always shying away from other pokemon if he can help it, but will always be there to protect May.
Nora:
Mareep: As mentioned she owns a Mareep that she loves to brush, she may be willingly not evolving her.
Vigoroth: Okay you knew this was coming, we all knew this was coming. When she first laid eye son Slakoth it was love at first pokeball! She's full of energy just like her trainer.
Whismur: Cute little thing that's afraid of loud noises, Nora tends to baby him!
East Sea Gastrodon: Big slug who likes to climb over and onto people!
Female Combee: The next best thing to Syrup is Honey! And with her lovely little Combee, Nora has access to it all the time!
Glarian Farfetch'd: As it turns out this fella reminds her of a certain friend she has! He's a bit out of it, but he tries his best. Hopefully he'll be able to reach his full potential.

It’s weirdfur muppet workplace drama. Up the wazzoo. The worm is fujoshing the fuck out about the octopus and one of three scaly cyclopian ape-puppyboys hooking up. The worm thinks they’ll be killed for it. Or leaving the gecko a widower. Or bc they think the spider with nipples is jealous of them earning more praise from the giant slug/sea cucumber/whatever that runs their cartel. But no it’s actually the weird protomammal pulling the strings to sicc the man among the muppets upon them. Meanwhile said man among muppets has slug frog gun things in the midst of figuring out who they love, who they consider family and who they forgive in the wake of tragedy. Including also the Australian Elmo inspired knife who got kicked off his home planet. And the gun who forgot his boyfriend and accidentally killed him in the end (even if said boyfriend deserved it for becoming a poacher-serial killer adjacent criminal). And there’s an axolotl voiced by the person who ran an infomercial on adult swim about pulling your skin off. And now the sequel will have the protomammal fire in the sky looking freak sicc more weirdfur muppet aliens on the man among muppets while it sells people as antidepressants to justify its genocidal zoosadist tendencies that I’m like 80% sure will result in it figuring out it’s a fictional character and crashing out about. And there’s also Popple copies including one voiced by Zach Hadel. This rocks.
HOL is good for a lot of reasons but the most solid of those reasons are not the ones people usually talk about (and i mean general mainstream not just tumblr fandom here mind you). Like yes okay that fourth wall breaking joke was kinda funny haha. But now let's talk about how this game has methodically created a group of characters that can dually described as one hell of an improv acting troupe and an unexplored weirdfur muppet workplace drama.
