SO UH..... I MAY HAVE GOTTEN INSPIRED... have some Arwen feels

Arwen hadn’t always seen the scars in her family. Her father hid his sadness behind an impossibly warm smile and her mother buried her rage in the ferocity of her care for her children. Her grandparents and her uncle were never distant, except perhaps in their eyes when they thought she wasn’t looking. She and her brothers grew up surrounded by love, and that was enough.

Then her mother was taken. And everything changed. The scars that had been carefully camouflaged for so long splintered open in front of her eyes, and the storm that poured forth threatened to tear her family apart. She can only watch as her brothers fall into rage and revenge and her father retreats into his grief. Her mother recovers, but they all know things will never be the same. Celebrían is more openly angry now, and she and the twins spend long seasons away from home. Elrond smiles and laughs again, but there’s a distance between him and Arwen now; she knows he is in pain, but he won’t let her see it.

It's no one’s fault of course. She understands her brothers’ and mother’s rage, she knows why they feel they must ride against the uruks, and she understands why her father feels he must be strong for her, but she wishes they would let her in, let her help them. She wishes there was more she could do.

She cannot heal all wounds, but she can be there for her family. And so she is.

Sometimes I think about The Hobbit & LOTR in Gold Cages verse and anyway I have a lot of emotions and also I know wormtongue has some gross shit to say and also depending on whether what happens to Celebrian in canon still happens I am so !!!! about a Hobbit/LOTR with her.

Warrior princess Arwen, but make it Bearing Hope's Sword canon :D

This design is mostly her unused Helm's Deep costume, but with more practical sleeves + arm guards and Elrond's cloak from the Andúril scene

I really love how the colors turned out :D this burgundy/raspberry palette is just so beautiful and I think it looks great in the greenish Paths of the Dead lighting

Celebrían Finds Out They're Back (also @nocompromise-noregrets ) Celebrían can hardly believe it when she hears of the little group that has straggled its way back to Lindon. The messenger who brings her the news seems like he's still wrapping his head around it himself. She is on her way to Lindon within two hours, pushing both her horse and herself more than is wise, but she doesn't care; she has to get to them.

Her parents faces are thin and drawn. and there are shadows in their eyes that hadn't been there when she had last seen them, but they light up when they see her anyway. She wraps her arms around them, and they all cry, and she vows to herself that she will never let anyone hurt them like this again.

They are all so far from okay. But at least they are home.

I am doing my absolute best to get Thawed Hearts chapter 4 out by Valentine's day. We will see how that goes. I don't personally put much stock in the holiday, but it is a fabulous excuse for me to write an extra sappy chapter :))

This is one of my Wicked fanfics and I started writing it the day after I saw the musical for the first time back in 2022 (despite it being mostly bookverse with just a dash of musicalverse flavor). Recent movie discussion (mostly complaining on my part) inspired me to pick up the document again and add a few lines. The concept is basically what it says on the tin XD Glinda really wants to kiss Elphie, but plays it off as "practice", shenanigans ensue (or will ensue, I haven't gotten that far yet) Thank you both for asking! Have a snippet!

"Have you ever wondered if you might need… practice?" "Practice? Galinda, I've never even thought about kissing anyone before today." She eyed the other girl with suspicion. "Why? Are you going to give poor Boq a chance? Or is Fiyero more your type?"  "Don't be silly. Boq is very sweet and it's wonderful to have him as a friend, but I'm afraid he'll have to look elsewhere for romance. And of course Fiyero is engaged, I could never pursue him with that in mind." "Avaric then? Though I can't imagine what there is to like about him." She wrinkled her nose. Galinda looked offended. “Really, Elphie, your estimation of my taste in men is truly unflattering. Avaric is such a rake! Can you imagine what going out with him would do to my reputation?” Elphaba threw up her hands. “Well I can't think of anyone else! It can't be Crope or Tibbet, not even you could separate them from each other.” She flopped back onto her bed and lay staring at the ceiling. “I give up.”

Of course!! The first two chapters of it have been posted as Thawed Hearts and I'm currently working on the third chapter :D

It's an X-Men Evolution fic centering on the revival and hanging out with the X-Men of Steve Rogers... who appears in the show only in flashbacks of a single episode and doesn't have any dialogue, hence the wip title XD The whole impetus for me writing the fic was the last 50 seconds of that episode, in which I got the Extremely Strong Vibes that he and Logan could have been romantically involved.

It's kind of spiraled out of control and gotten quite long and developed a readerbase far quicker than I expected, but I'm having a great time. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to finish the third chapter over the holidays now that I don't have pesky things like degrees demanding my attention.

Sorry, boy scout, she’s the one I have a score to settle with, you’re just the icing on top.” He stalked towards them, flinging Steve aside and advancing on Rogue with his claws unsheathed. Rogue whipped off one of her gloves and held her hand outstretched like a shield. “Don’t try it, furball, or I’ll leave you out cold for a week, and neither of us will enjoy the hangover.”s

“So this dance… It’s a big deal around here?” Steve asked one morning after a very dramatic breakfast during which Amara had burst into tears and fled the room because Bobby had said he didn’t think her crush would ask her to go with him. 

Logan shuddered. “Too big of a deal if you ask me. It’s caused more tears than any of the literal supervillains they’ve faced.”

“Reminds me of being back on base a little bit.” Steve said. thoughtfully “I don’t think anything was as much of a fuss as mail day was, especially around Valentine’s.”

“Yeah, well, mail day made everyone remember they were people. Guess this stupid dance thing probably does something similar for the kids; it’s something to stress over that’s got nothing to do with being a mutant for once.”

✨ 🎀💌?

eee thank you lovely!! ✨ What's a fic you've posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (or simply a fic you wish got more credit) hmm... there are several. I'm kind of shouting into the void with all my Avengers Assemble fics and I do sometimes wish there was more of an audience for those, but I've made my peace with the fact that they're quite niche. The one fic that I'm always hoping more people will find because I'm so passionate about it is Bearing Hope's Sword which is my movie!Arwen brings anduril au. I've really poured my heart and love for Arwen into it and I think it's one of my best-written works. The third chapter will get done eventually lol 🎀give yourself a compliment about your own writing I think I'm pretty good at matching the style of my dialogue to the media my fic is based on! 💌share something with us about an up-and-coming work (WIP) that has you excited!

ooh how to choose just one! Not sure if it counts as wip yet since all I have is a few notes, but I'm planning on doing a fic about Eowyn in lotr-musical-verse that I'm super excited about!! The setup is that because of the Gondor-Rohan combination she's Boromir's little sister and gets to deal with a lovely combination of her own issues and some of Denethor's incredible parenting of Faramir. I don't have much else in terms of concrete story yet, but she compels me :)))

Fics I Want to Read But Not Write List

I got tagged in this new meme by @malkaleh and decided to contribute my wishlist :D With the caveat that I probably will get around to a lot of these at some point, but currently they Scare me, so I guess it's not so much a list of "things I don't want to write" as a list of "things I wish would be easy to write but definitely will not be" also prepare yourselves for a complete hodgepodge of fandoms XD

Stonynat: the one where they all get together. listen relationship logistics are HARD and love confessions are something I hate writing (because idk how to make such things sound natural)

what if... natasha never left the red room? I think a version of CA:TWS where nat was still a red room agent would be SO INTERESTING!! you could dive into the red room's connections to hydra... and her and bucky's comic dynamic a little bit... and it could be COOL. Would be super complicated though and I do NOT currently have the brain space to think about it in detail

the kiradax little shop of horrors/coffee shop AU that's lived in my brain for like four years at this point. alas that the voices of star trek characters do not at all come to me easily!

VLD: the keith and lotor dynamic explored. basically I would just like all the Themes and Parallels I see to come out of my head as an engaging fic instead of a red string-esque ramble XD

what happened when elladan and elrohir went to scout the fellowship's path?

book!wicked canon divergence where glinda finds elphie right after fiyero dies and this changes a lot of things. This one is putting me off because it's pretty much a kidfic and I don't really do those...

Angsty angst angst is my other book!Wicked fic and is exactly what it sounds like based on the title :D It's full of regret and unfulfilled yearning and makes me very sad whenever I work on it

I can't believe I was ever friends with someone as vapid as you!" Glinda was hurt.
