After World War II, the world was divided between reconstruction and lingering chaos. Some nations struggled to regain stability, but beneath the surface of political and technological progress, something older and far more dangerous was stirring. Ancient artifacts, once thought to be mere legends, began to surfaceârelics of forgotten civilizations imbued with curses and objects of power that defied known science. Entities and cryptic beings started revealing themselves. Governments dismissed these occurrences as superstition, but those who encountered them firsthand knew better.
A series of inexplicable eventsâentire villages vanishing overnight, enigmatic symbols appearing at crime scenes, and reports of beings unbound by the laws of physicsâforced a clandestine collective into action. Young rebels, military deserters, self-serving academics, and intelligence agents expelled from their positions came to a terrifying realization: the supernatural was real and far stronger than humanity was prepared to handle.
The creation of Section 13 became a reality within weeks.
The Agencyâs first mission was more than boldâit was a gamble. It was the late 1950s, and the world was gripped by the Cold War. But deep in South America, a different kind of power struggle was unfolding. In Porto Alegre, Brazil, leads pointed to a relicâthe heart of Dom Pedro I, miraculously preserved and rumored to pulse with supernatural vitality. Our Agency had intelligence confirming its strategic importance: the heart was self-sustaining. Not only could it preserve itself, but it also generated energyâan inexplicable power that, in the right hands, could be harnessed.
Agents embedded in Brazilâs intelligence network confirmed that local authorities were about to transfer the heart to the national government. If that happened, Section 13 might never get another chance. They had no jurisdiction, no official authority, only a single directive: get there first, take the heart, and leave no trace.
Under the cover of night, a strike team infiltrated the heavily guarded vault where the heart was stored. This was more than just retrieving an artifactâthe mission had to be flawless. A forged replica had been crafted, indistinguishable in weight, appearance, and even texture. The switch had to be undetectable.
But the team encountered something they didnât expect. The heart reacted to their presence. When the lead agent reached for the artifact, the room trembled with an invisible force. The lampâs light flickered, shadows stretched unnaturally as if they had a life of their own, and a deep, resonant pulse echoed through the chamber. For a moment, the agent saw beyond the physicalâvisions of Dom Pedro I himself, his spectral, lifeless gaze fixed on the intruders.
âThe heart does not belong to you,â a disembodied voice intoned in archaic Portuguese.
Unshaken, the agent grabbed the heart, ignoring the searing heat radiating through their gloves. The moment the switch was made, the disturbance ceased. The team moved quickly, exiting without alerting the guards. By the time Brazilian authorities arrived the next day to secure the heart, they suspected nothing.
The Agency had just committed the perfect crime against history.
Back at a hidden facility, scientists and engineers analyzed the heart. It wasnât just a relicâit was an anomaly, something that should not exist. The heart pulsed, its tissue still alive centuries after it should have decayed. Even more astonishingly, it emitted a continuous low-frequency signal, which could be converted into energy.
Through trial and error, engineers developed a containment field that allowed them to harness this energy, creating a power source unlike anything known to science. The implications were staggering: the Agency was now self-sustaining, powered not by fossil fuels or nuclear fission, but by something olderâsomething supernatural.
This newfound energy allowed the Agency to expand beyond government control. They established hidden bases in abandoned structures, deep underground, or in forgotten places known only to those who knew where to look.
With this power, they developed technology ahead of its timeâstealth vehicles, enhanced weaponry, and data systems that operated outside conventional networks. They moved without restrictions, answering only to their own cause: recovering and neutralizing supernatural artifacts and entities before they could fall into the wrong hands.
In the decades that followed, Section 13 became a legend among law enforcement and intelligence circles. Whenever rumors surfaced about an artifact, they were already there before authorities even knew. Crime scenes were found eerily clean, with only traces of unnatural activity left behind. When questioned, local witnesses often spoke in hushed tones about men and women who arrived unannounced, took what they wanted, and vanished without a trace.
They were like ghostsâalways arriving before the authorities.

At this point I might as well just permanently move into your ask box, so plz tell me where I have to sent the rent too.
ANYWAY- opinion on Section 13 ?
Do you see it as unjustifiable crime and human right's violaton or do you see it as more of a neccesary evil to keep Luci at bay ? Or is it maybe something in-between ?
Also, what do you think of the living conditions of the clones ? I've read some takes that say the general living OUTSIDE of the experiments was pretty good for the clones while others say the conditions weren't humane at all. (This question ignores the experiments as mentioned, just talking general living i.e. food, living place, care, edjucation ect)
SORRY I FORGOR ABOUT THIS ASK
But yeah, on to the subject, I do see it as a necessary evil sort of situation. We can see it's basically the last resort Mephisto had to help Lucifer - and the other demon kings. He obviously didn't need to do it for himself since he kept his body in shape. Plus on top of that, after the century or so of trying to create the perfect body for Luci, eventually Lucifer got tired and just dipped and formed the Illuminati. So it definitely was a last measure effort to keep humanity safe
Especially since we see Mephisto acknowledge (at least twice) that the whole shit with Section 13 is undeniably cruel and inhumane

Although Mephisto had the idea it's specifically because he was afraid of Lucifer and what he might do out of madness due to his body deterioration, horrible thing to do in general, but I don't necessarily blame him for taking such drastic measures to appease his older brother and keep his anger at bay when it'd have such an impact on (and probably destroy) humanity

Thanks for the ask! I love going into depth about these subjects :]

Part II: Other Worlds
"O brave new worlds, that have such people in them!"
Section 13. How I had a Vision of Lineland
[Table of Contents]
It was the day before the last day of the year 1999, and the first day of the Holiday Vacation.
Having stayed up late, amusing myself with my favorite Geometry problems, I went to my bed with an unsolved math problem in my mind.
That night, I had a dream.
I saw in front of me a huge number of small Straight Lines, which I naturally assumed to be Women, along with some other Beings that were smaller, and appeared to me as glowing Points.
They were all moving from side to side in, as far as I could see, a single huge Straight Line, all moving at the same speed.
[Image description start: A black and white digital illustration titled, "My view of Lineland". The diagram shows a square, labeled, "myself" with an eye on a lower corner labeled "my eye", looking down at a row of lines and dots. In the center of the row is a line slightly longer than the others, labeled, "the king", with eyes on either side. On either side of the king are a few more lines labeled "men", followed by a shorter line, labeled "a boy", and several dots, labeled "women". Below this is text in parenthesis reading, "(The King's eyes much larger than the reality showing that His Majesty could see nothing but a point.)â. Image description end.]
As they moved, they made a continuous, jumbled chirping or twittering noise. But sometimes they stopped moving, and when they held still, there was silence.
Approaching the largest of what I thought were Women, I said, âWoman, what is the purpose of this area? Why are you all making these chirping noises and moving back and forth in a Straight Line?â
But she didnât react.
I repeated myself a second time, and a third, but still got no response.
Finally losing patience with what I thought was extreme rudeness, I shoved forward and brought my mouth directly in front of her, to stop her from moving forward again, and loudly repeated my question for a fourth time: âWoman, what is the purpose of this area? Why are you all making these chirping noises and moving back and forth in a Straight Line?â
âI am no Woman,â replied the small Line, âI am the Monarch of the world. But you, where have you come from to intrude into my world of Lineland?â
Surprised by this sudden answer, I apologized if Iâd startled or annoyed his Royal Highness, but, explaining that I was a foreigner, I asked to King to give me some information about his World.
But I had a very hard time getting any information from him that actually interested me, because the Monarch kept assuming that whatever was obvious to him, had to be obvious to me, and decided that I was just pretending not to understand as a joke.
However, by persevering in my questioning, I got the following facts:
It turned out that this poor, ignorant Monarch â as he called himself â was under the impression that the Straight Line that he called his Kingdom, where he spent his entire life, was the only thing not only in this World, but the entire Universe.
Unable to move or to see, except for what was inside his Straight Line, he had no idea that anything existed outside it.
He had âheardâ me the first times Iâd spoken to him, but the sound of my voice had been so unnatural and confusing that heâd made no answer.
As he explained, heâd seen no one, and my voice had seemed to come from inside him, as though from his own intestines.
What I called his âsideâ, he called his âinsidesâ, and to him, my voice had been nothing but a confused jumble of sounds beating against his stomach.
Until I had placed my mouth in his World, heâd been unable to understand me, or see me, and he still had no idea where Iâd come from.
Outside his World, or Line, everything was blank to him. But no, because even the word blank implies Space â it simply didnât exist.
His subjects â with the Lines being Men and the Points being Women â were all just as trapped in that single Plane of motion and vision in that single Straight Line, which was their whole world.
The only thing they could ever see was a Point.
Man, woman, child, object, all were nothing but Points to the eye of a Linelander. Only the sound of the personâs voice could tell you their Sex or age.
And because each individual took up the entirely of the ânarrow pathâ of their Universe, this meant that no one could move to the side, and no one could move past anyone else. Once neighbors, always neighbors.
Neighborhood for them was like marriage for us. Neighbors stayed neighbors until Death came to part them.
Such a life, with nothing to see but a Point, and motion only possible in a Straight Line, seemed to me to be unspeakably miserable, and I was surprised at how cheerful and full of life the King was.
Wondering how it could be possible for these Linelanders to reproduce when their circumstances seemed so hostile to the possibility, I hesitated for a long time to question his Royal Highness on such a private subject, but at last I had to give into my curiosity, and casually asked about the health of his family.
âMy wives and children,â he replied, âAre healthy and happy.â
I was staggered by this answer, because, as I said before, the only people anywhere near the King were Men.
I dared to reply, âPardon me, but I donât understand how your Royal Highness can see, let alone approach their Majesties, when there are at least half a dozen people between you, which you canât go or look past? Do you mean to tell me that in Lineland, touching isnât needed for marriage, or for the creation of children?â
âWhat kind of absurd question is that?â demanded the Monarch. âIf touching were required, the Universe would soon run out of people! No, no. Neighborhood is not needed for the union of hearts, and the birth of children is too important to be left up to the random chance of proximity! You have to know this. But since you think itâs funny to pretend you donât, I will explain it to you like youâre the most uneducated child in Lineland.
âListen well. Marriages are made by the senses of sound and hearing. You are of course aware that every Man has two mouths, voices, and eyes â a deeper bass on one side, and a higher tenor at the other. I wouldnât bother to mention this, except that I havenât been able to hear your tenor voice while weâve been speaking.â
I told him that I had only one voice, and that I hadnât been aware that his Royal Highness spoke with two.
âThat confirms my theory,â said the King, âThat you are not a Man, but a Female Monstrosity with a deep voice, and an utterly uneducated ear for music. But, let us continue.
âNature herself declared that every Man should marry two wives, andââ
âWhy two?â I interrupted.
âYouâre taking this joke too far!â he cried. âHow else can there be a harmonious union without the combination of the Four in One? The Bass and Tenor of the Man, and the Soprano and Contralto of the two Women?â
âBut what if,â I said, âa man wanted to have only one wife, or three?â
âThat is impossible.â he said, âIt is as inconceivable as saying two plus one equals five, or that the human eye could see a Straight Line.â
I would have interrupted him again, but he continued, saying:
âIn the middle of each week, a Law of Nature compels us to move forward and backward with a rhythm faster than normal, which lasts a hundred and one seconds.
âIn the middle of this dance, at the fifty-first moment, the inhabitants of the Universe suddenly stop in place, and each individual sings out his richest, fullest, most beautiful song. It is this moment that all of our marriages are made.
âSo powerful is the evolution of Bass to Treble, and Tenor to Contralto, that the Loved Ones, even if theyâre twenty thousand leagues apart, can still instantly recognize the voice of their destined Lover, and, cutting through the pathetic obstacle of distance, Love unites the three.
The marriage is consummated in that moment, and results in the birth of three children who take their place in Lineland.â
âWhat?! Always three?â I asked, âDoes one wife always have to have twins, then?â
âYou bass-voiced Monstrosity, yes!â replied the King. âHow else could the numbers of the Sexes stay balanced, if two girls werenât born for every boy? Do you want to defy the very Laws of Nature?!â
He stopped talking, speechless with fury.
It took a while before I could convince him to continue his explanations.
âDo not assume, of course, that every bachelor finds his mates at his first try at this universal Marriage Song. On the contrary, itâs normal for the ritual to be performed many times before it is successful. Few are lucky enough to instantly recognize the voices of the partners destined to them by Providence, and complete the harmonious embrace. For most of us, it takes a long time to successfully marry.
âThe Manâs voice might perfectly match up with one of his future Wives, but not the other, or sometimes, not with either at first. In cases like this, Nature declares that every weekly Chorus will bring the Lovers closer into harmony.
âEach test of their voices allows them to discover where they are going wrong, and gives them the opportunity to change accordingly. And after many tests and adjustments, eventually the marriage is achieved. There comes, at last, the day when the three distant Lovers suddenly find themselves in exact harmony, and before they even realize it, the married Triplet is being celebrated by Nature as one more marriage, and three more births.â

Section 13 of the CGST Act Explained: Key Points and Implications
Are you scratching your head trying to decode what Section 13 of the CGST Act is all about? Don't worry; we've got your back! In this blog post, we'll break down Section 13 into simple terms, highlighting its key points and implications, so you can navigate the complex world of GST with ease.

What is Section 13 of the CGST Act?
Section 13 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017, deals with the time of supply of goods and services. In simple words, it determines when you need to pay GST on your transactions.
Also Read:- How to Use Section 50 of GST to Your Advantage
Key Points to Remember:
Time of Supply: Section 13 establishes the time when a transaction is considered to have occurred for GST purposes. This timing is crucial because it determines when you need to account for GST in your books.
Supply of Goods: For the supply of goods, the time of supply is determined by three events:
Date of issue of invoice
Date of receipt of payment
Date of completion of the supply
Supply of Services: Similarly, for the supply of services, the time of supply is determined by:
Date of issue of invoice
Date of receipt of payment
Date of completion of the service
Date of receipt of advance payment
Earlier of the Events: Among these events, the time of supply is the earliest of:
Date of issue of invoice
Date of receipt of payment
Date of completion of supply or service
Implications of Section 13:
Understanding Section 13 is crucial for businesses for several reasons:
Compliance: Knowing when to pay GST ensures compliance with tax laws and avoids penalties.
Cash Flow Management: It helps in managing cash flows by anticipating GST payments.
Input Tax Credit (ITC): Properly timing the supply can affect the availability of ITC, thereby impacting the overall tax liability.
Conclusion:
Section 13 of the CGST Act lays down the rules for determining the time of supply of goods and services for GST purposes. By understanding these rules, businesses can ensure timely compliance, efficient cash flow management, and optimal utilization of input tax credit.
We hope this article has shed some light on this important section of the CGST Act, helping you navigate the world of GST with confidence. Stay tuned for more insights and updates on GST-related matters!

The Fentonworks Mega-Lab.
So! AU where the Fentonworks Labs actually stretch Miles upon Miles below the City of Amity Park.
It started when the Fentons wanted to add a simple addition to the original Lab when they ran out of space to store their more dangerous weapons. They didn't want their (at the time) young children getting their hands on their experimental Weaponry, it could blow up in their faces!
So they built a different Wing of the Lab to hold all those Inventions.
Then they ran out of space and added a few extra Storage Rooms. But then they decided it was a hassle to have to carefully transport their Dangerous Inventions all the way to the Storage Rooms, and built a Lab specifically for Dangerous Experiments near that same Section. Then that Lab was occupied for a while, and Jack wanted to start a different experiment as well, so they built a few more.
In the end they just never stopped building onto their Labs.
There are sections of the Mega-Lab that are entirely walled off because a few of their more unstable Experiments contaminated the area. Walking into them was not recommended, else you could walk out with an extra eye or 5.
In other sections, their Captured Ghosts had taken over a few Labs and created a sort of Mad Max style civilization using their discarded weapons and vehicles.
In another, all Ghosts became Humans and all Humans became Ghosts. That was a weird one, to this day they still didn't understand how they pulled that off.
In another, some type of Eldritch Time Ghost had been born, and now sort of always existed and never existed, and began experimenting with its powers. They nicknamed it Clocky because it liked to carry around a stopwatch.
And so many more. At one point a failed Portal Experiment messed with the internal Space of the entire thing. Now there was literally no way of Mapping it. The Fentons still somehow managed to navigate it perfectly.
When Jazz and Danny grew up, they too learned how to navigate the Labs, which is how Danny managed to show his friends the Portal Experimentation Wing in the first place.
Unfortunately, it wasn't safe for anyone aside from the Fentons to enter the Mega-Labs, so one day when the Fenton Family+friends left town on a Week Long Camping/Road Trip, they put up a few Ghost Shields to keep both Humans out and the Ghosts in.
This drew some unwanted attention after some tourists saw the giant Glowng Green Building in the middle of an Illinois Town, and rightfully called the Justice League.
Now, the Justice League had tried to call the owners of the house, but nobody picked up the phone. (An incident with Jack and a Canoe had knocked most of their phones into the lake. They weren't even at the lake yet.)
When nobody picked up, they decided to investigate personally.
After getting into the House, they quickly found a door labeled "Labs: Do Not Enter (unless it we are late for Dinner)" and went into ignoring all the warnings.
They quickly regretted it.
#Dpxdc#Dp x dc#Dcxdp#Dc x dp#Danny Phantom#Dc#Dcu#The Fentons expanded their Lab a little too much#The Fenton Labs are now a Liminal Space on the level of the Backrooms or SCP Site-13#It is pure undiluted Chaos in those Labs and only the Fentons can actually navigate it successfully#The Eldritch Time Ghost named Clocky is a âyoungâ version of Clockwork#Yes the Fentons accidentally created Clockwork#Does this make Danny and Clockwork brothers?#I say it does#The Justice League expected for this to be a quick and easy investigation#Now they have been fighting through a never ending facility of Horror Monsters and Eldritch Radiation as they try to escape#There are more parts of the lab than what I mentioned#There is a section where Gravity is inverted but only if you lift your Left Foot#There's a room that looks EXACTLY like the Outside until you reach the edge and find a wall of Mirrors#There's a room that just leads to a random Chucky Cheese location in the 80s and the only way to leave it to warn 10000 Tickets#There's a Kingdom of Sentient Robots created by the Fentons that have forgotten their true Origins and worship the Fentons as their Gods#Its a cluster of pure Chaos that somehow Co-exists#The first team sent in by the JL calls back saying that they had lost contact with the outside for hours (it had been 2 minutes outside)#The next team was radio silent for a full day before calling in saying that they had just entered#They had no idea why they kept sending in more teams

"They came to take me away, didn't they?"
Cataloged File â EPI-01-O
Codename: King's Heart
Hazard Level: 40%
Lead Researcher: Not Assigned
Recorded Information: EPI-01-O is the mummified and anatomically preserved heart belonging to Dom Pedro I, the first Emperor of Brazil. The artifact was initially recovered and replaced with a forged replica from a museum in [REDACTED] following a series of anonymous tips suggesting abnormal activity from the object. The organ measures 18.5 cm Ă 12.3 cm, composed primarily of cardiac muscle tissue that, under normal circumstances, should have decayed post-mortem. However, the heart exhibits remarkable preservation, with tissue consistency and coloration analogous to that of a recently harvested organ, though lacking a natural texture due to prolonged exposure to formaldehyde.
The heart is sentient and capable of complex communication, speaking in an imperial dialect and accent. Additionally, it possesses limited mobility (it moves by hopping). When left unattended, it frequently attempts to escape its containment. Intelligence quotient (IQ) tests have estimated a score of 182 points, an intellectual capacity that is impossible to explain, as the heart contains no neurons or any known structures for cognition or expression.
Tissue samples extracted from EPI-01 reveal a previously unknown enzymatic complex that appears to slow natural degradation processes. Preliminary biochemical assays indicate the presence of compounds not typically found in mammalian tissues, possibly of non-terrestrial origin or resulting from undocumented genetic modifications.
Exposure to the object for more than 15 minutes results in increased heart rate, mild tachycardia, and occasional arrhythmic patterns in affected individuals. While no long-term physiological damage has been documented, these effects require strict exposure time limits. Personnel in proximity have also reported vivid, dreamlike memories of 19th-century political events and encounters with figures resembling Dom Pedro Iâs court. Though subjective, these experiences are consistent across multiple subjects and are accompanied by measurable changes in brainwave patterns, particularly in regions associated with historical memory and emotional processing.
Containment Protocol: EPI-01 must be stored in a hermetically sealed and reinforced containment vault within the depths of the Mother Agency. The vault is constructed with lead-lined walls and energy conduits connected to the heart, allowing the agency to harness its energy to power the entire facility.
Access to EPI-01 is restricted to Level 5 personnel, requiring approval from at least three (3) Chiefs for any experimentation.
A dedicated surveillance system monitors the vault 24/7 for anomalous emissions or unexpected phenomena. In the event of an escape attempt or sudden activation of the heartâs properties, up to three guards may be dispatched to reestablish containment and conduct preliminary analysis. No complex interactions are recommended.
Personnel entering the vault must wear Class IV biohazard suits due to potential biochemical hazards and anomalous contagions that may be released by EPI-01-O.
Any written, oral, or visual records referencing Dom Pedro I in connection with EPI-01 must be treated as sensitive historical material. Researchers must ensure that all interpretations remain within the documentation parameters of an approved agency and prevent public dissemination to avoid cultural and political repercussions.
INTERVIEW WITH EPI-01
Date: [REDACTED]
Interviewer: Dr. Gustavo Almeida
Location: EPI-01 Containment Chamber, Section 13
Notes: The interviewer will communicate via microphone to minimize exposure.
[RECORDING START]
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: Good afternoon, EPI-01. Can you hear me?
EPI-01: "Good afternoon"? What a strange greeting! Where is the proper respect for the presence of an Emperor? In my time, a man of science such as yourself would bow before addressing me!
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: My apologies. Ehm⌠Your Majesty⌠can you hear me?
EPI-01: Ah, finally! A glimmer of decorum! Yes, I can hear you clearly, though your diction lacks the nobility of the past. Who are you, and why am I confined in this glass prison?
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: My name is Dr. Gustavo Almeida. I represent Section 13, an agency dedicated to studying anomalous phenomenaâlike yourself. We are trying to understand your nature.
EPI-01: "Anomalous phenomenon"? I am unsure whether to regard you as a scholar or a fool! I am Dom Pedro, the First! The heart of Brazil still beats, even if my domain has been reduced to this undignified cell!
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: Do you remember what happened before you were found?
EPI-01: (Chuckles softly) Ah, doctor, an Emperorâs memory never fails! My death was merely a temporary inconvenience. But tell me, how fares my empire? Is my people still strong? Does Brazil remain united?
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: Brazil remains an independent country. Much has changed since your timeâŚ
EPI-01: And Dom Pedro II? Did my son honor the throne? Or did the empire fall to the weakness of those who followed?
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: Your son ruled for nearly fifty years, but eventually, the monarchy was abolished.
EPI-01: (Silence for a few seconds. The heart pulses more intensely.)
...The Republic? A handful of suited men took what was rightfully the House of Braganzaâs? And you, scientist, do you serve this new order?
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: We are not here to discuss politics. My goal is to understand your existence. Your body perished centuries ago, yet your heart remains active. We know you communicate and think, but you have no brain. How do you explain that?
EPI-01: The mind of a true monarch does not reside in mere flesh. It lies in will! In spirit! In the oath sworn to the people and the nation! And my nation still needs meâŚ
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: You speak as if you still have a purpose. What do you desire?
EPI-01: (Laughs again, more intensely this time.)
What does an Emperor always desire, my dear doctor? The heart of a king never ceases to beat for his land! You may lock me in this cell, but as long as Brazil exists, my spirit will not rest. One day, I shall find a new throne. And when I do⌠my empire shall rise again!
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: Should that statement be considered a threat?
EPI-01: Oh, my dear doctor⌠that is a promise.
(The heart performs a series of erratic jumps inside the chamber, striking against the glass.)
Dr. Gustavo Almeida: (To security personnel.) Record increased activity from EPI-01. Ending the interview.
[RECORDING END]

I have just finished the section with the garden party. And I have so, so many thoughts.
First of all, I'm so glad I'm reading the light novel because that section with Jinshi after Maomao and Gaoshun discuss the poisoned soup was Sexy. I love Jinshi so much what a fucking loser <3
Second of all. POLITICS. I LOVE POLITICS. I'm deliberately spoiled on a decent amount of things because I'm terrible with biological relations and keeping track of family trees so I know ehm. most things about the royal family so to speak. But all of that is already starting to be really interesting.
What I give more of a fuck about though is just how much lady-in-waiting politics there is. Like we're introduced from the VERY moment we meet Gyokuyou that she was "too few" ladies in waiting and that it's honestly a little bit obscene for her to only have 5 with Maomao. BUT EVERY SINGLE TIME. SHE'S PROVEN RIGHT TO HAVE THAT FEW. It shows how intelligent Gyokuyou is, how aware she is of her own position, and the position a lady-in-waiting is in. AND it immediately prepares us for just how. downright cruel a lot of the others are.
It's honestly a bit jarring how genuinely nice and honest and inherently good-natured about their job Gyokuyou's crowd is when we see Lihua's ladies-in-waiting almost kill her. How Lishu's food-tester intentionally give her food she is allergic to because. it's fun to humiliate a child I suppose. Like I don't know the contrast is stark, it's obvious, and it's supposed to be. And it's Fantastic.
Honestly I cannot emphasize enough how good this series is about discussing feminism and womanhood. The politics of women of all walks of life, especially the specific challenges women of high status that should "have it all worked out for them" face. It's so fucking good actually. It really is that fucking easy huh.
#Like dude I have so many thoughts#Natsu Hyuuga you're a fucking genius#This series is so good and I'm only like three quarters into VOLUME 1 OUT OF LIKE 13#That are written/published you get what I mean I know there's 15#Anyways#KINO#PEAK#CINEMA#ART#LITERATURE#Also I love Maomao she's so fucking funny#ALSO#THE FUCKING#OOOOOH JINSHI GIVING HER A HAIRPIN#AND MAOMAO NOT GETTING HOW BIG OF A DEAL THAT IS#HRNNNNNNNNNG#Head in hands they make me sick#kusuriya no hitorigoto#the apothecary diaries#Also the little nod to Jinshi's actual identity with the qilin pin?#I See You Hyuuga#I See You#yeah I know about that I told you I have spoiled myself on stuff#It's nothing I mind it's part of the fun for me#I am a BLOODHOUND for foreshadowing it's such a good time#Anyways peak fucking fiction#Manda's Maomao Simpage#OH AND I DIDNT EVEN MENTION MAOMAO'S FRECKLES BEING MAKEUP???#DUDE THAT ENTIRE SECTION WAS SO GOOD#I LOVE MAOMAO SO MUCH SHE'S SO INTERESTING
