National Cookie Day

Did you know -  The English word “cookie” is derived from the Dutch word koekie meaning “little cake.”

Sedro Woolley Fire Department Trains on Old House

Yesterday the Sedro Woolley Department was able to test it’s firefighters with mock scenarios by using homes scheduled to be demolished.  These homes were purchased by Habitat for Humanity, who will later tear them down to build new ones.  They generously allowed the fire department to practice their life saving techniques inside one of the homes on Batey Street.  SWFD used fog machines, lights, and a dummy named Rescue Randy to make it seem like a real fire and rescue scenario.  The former owner of the home was there to watch them as they practiced inside the place he grew up.  He seemed very supportive.  All the firefighters did a good job and the community is so thankful to have such skilled and trained men ready to save the day if needed! http://www.skagitbreaking.com/2017/08/08/sedro-woolley-firefighters-receive-training-old-house/
