also something i Might do once my old asks are answered / drafts are cleaned out (so many drabbles) is make a new tdp sideblog.

i'll still keep this one up as an archive of my old stuff because i don't want to lose it (and work on transferring stuff over over time), but i've always been somewhat overwhelmed by the attention/amount of followers this one has received and never wanted to be a bnf to begin with (it is my personal hell). making a new blog to hopefully cull follower counts and subsequent attention is, admittedly, an option/idea i've had in the back of my head for at least 2 years (maybe 3 bc i feel like i'd thought about it in that last year pre-S4 but i can't remember), so... starting somewhere from relative scratch might be worthwhile.

it'll still be obvious the blog is me (something like my current url with a little number add on or whatever), i'm not trying to hide, or anything, and i'll also link it here if it does happens (i might feel better/differently later or decide it feels like too much work) but. having a non bnf tdp blog sounds lovely and much more relaxing. a lot of people inevitably won't follow and those who do will hopefully be friendly / more engaged, and that sounds so much better. maybe, if i'm not too busy with revisions this summer, i'd get through all my drafted stuff here by septemer-ish or can transfer leftover stuff there after the fact

I have wanted to make mock-up pictures based upon the concept of "If the Lowmax story were a narrative-based adventure game" for the actual longest time... and I still haven't done it! Shocking. But perhaps Calvero Terranora: Global Tour is a step in the right direction, and this year I will realise that dream in all its unapologetically pathetic glory.

I think Agatha would be deeply conflicted about being asked to be an asset in a video game. On the one hand: finally, recognition! On the other hand: her natural inclination to immediately say no, go away to anything and anyone. Archie would be polite but wouldn't think about it again. Caleb would be chuffed as nuts, and hide it badly (if at all.)

This has been the reality for nations with "weaker" passports for decades. People from nonwhite countries need to be walking encyclopaedias on immigration laws in the US. They get rounded up, locked up with no explanation, deported. They are instructed to be careful with their words in case a border official misconstrues something and freaks out. If your experience of crossing borders has been pleasant, if crossing into the US has been anything but routinely humiliating for you, my friend you hold a white country's passport.

You all are only noticing how bad ICE and border forces are now, now that it is affecting white countries. "Never in my 22 year career have I seen Western Europeans and Canadians locked up". But you have seen and ignored Africans, East Asians, Middle Eastern people, Indians, Mexicans facing this. You have allowed the border police to get this huge and powerful. You didn't nip ICE in the bud. It might surprise you, but they have probably started within most of your lifetimes.

The news is only now talking about it because of white countries with media currency (i.e., if they're suffering, it'll get airtime). This is "but [Ukrainians] are people who look like us getting bombed" all over again. You've forgotten that there were kids in cages at the border.

Masking is uncomfortable and inconvenient, but I know it's the right choice for me bc it aligns with my morals and values. I believe in protecting others as much as I believe in protecting myself. I don't want to get anyone sick! And I believe, many years from now when they teach the history of the Covid pandemic, history will smile on the helpers and the doers and the ones who continued to mask.

I often feel so depressed at the current state of the Covid pandemic, but I feel hopeful and confident in my choice to respond by continuing to mask and avoid high-risk events or situations. And I sincerely love and appreciate everyone who is doing the same.
