littol! robot. that i designed to be a helping hand for calypso the seinop. they are aliens who are invading(?) equestria in an AU im making with @antboyyyy . the seinop have a sorta retro futurism early 20th century technology level, they don’t have many personal computers or things like that. electromechanical machines, black and white TV, newspapers, stuff like that. this robot is very out of the ordinary. even where they are available, seinop do not often use robots as helping hands. the domesticated animals have been acting as helping hands since before their recorded history. they are a seamless part of seinop life. and most available robots are big loud things with relay switches and motors. how Calypso got her hooves on probably one of the only robots in existence to be using proper transistors and solid-state batteries is not something I’m prepared to explain ha ha. it’s probably to do with her being an astronaut.
this robot has wheels for thighs and it can sit down like a dog and motor around like a tiny little two wheel car and I think that’s cute. The tube does not show a face or like pictures that it’s taken or anything like that, it just shows abstract shapes that kind of relay its emotions and stuff.
so I’m making this up right now and it’s convoluted, but it’s my sci-fi so I get to make it up. I think their cameras are like reverse ray tubes that somehow like read the reflection on the glass with an electron beam. and it like displays and reads at the same time because it has two electron beams? I don’t know exactly how it works. It’s sci-fi.
