"okay, like I said," you pipe up, tapping a finger on either side of the backpack, the two thermoses snug in their little elastic pouches and still retaining their heat. like the gem he is, he lets you continue even if it's repetitive because he knows the feeling, has the experience - his kids are long past the bottle and blowout stage, so you know he can be trusted.
a bit more nagging and then they're off, hiromi using mai's hand to wave goodbye to you two as he walks away - her strapped to his front, supplies on his back.

and then? silence.

he shakes his head, "i was just resting my eyes," a blatant lie, "not sleepy. go ahead."
you're not 100 percent believing the whole not sleepy shtick but you just snort softly, going back to kissing him again at least. a light one on his forehead, one on the apple of his cheek. “liar,” you whisper against his skin, voice affectionate. he hums quietly, lashes fluttering, arms banding around your waist to hold you to his chest. "need some more. i'm in kiss deficit.."
the next kiss lands near his mouth, then one under his eye as he smiles. going off how well you know him he'll likely be out in 3..2..
his breathing evens out, hands previously tracing a path up and down your skin not even slowed, just halted completely. you glance up, greeted with the parted pink lips, ivory lashes resting on his upper cheeks. out cold, as expected. you can't even blame him, you're fairing no better.
one last kiss gets planted to the underside of his jaw, head resting on his chest, "goodnight to you too, satoru."

So a few days ago I saw someone (elsewhere) questioning Zutara fans’ excitement about the scarf scene. It wasn't a mean comment, more general curiosity. And well, I didn't have time to get my thoughts out then. But they haven't gone away, so I'm getting them out here:
Here’s what everyone need to understand about Zutara shippers. We were baited baaaad during the initial run of the show–from the magazines to the shorts to the trailers and how they were cut. And Zuko and Katara’s relationship on the show certainly underwent a lot of development and featured objectively emotional–if not overtly romantic–moments between the two. We were well fed, and we had reason to hope. Right up to the end, we had reason to hope.
The shipping wars were the shipping wars, of course, with all the usual tensions; there are always going to be overzealous fans of each (and any) pairing willing to get toxic. Generally, I think Kataang fans were always jealous of Zutara’s popularity and Zutara fans, post finale, were jealous of Kataang’s, well, canon status. But really it operated much the same as any other large fandom’s shipping wars.
And then came Bryke and the panel where they showed and mocked Zutara fan art, some of which had been created by teens if not straight up children. Then came their, “Come on, kids! It was never going to work. Zutara is just dark and intriguing.”* And the pièce de résistance, their telling Zutara shippers (specifically girls/women) that they were doomed to have failed romantic relationships. Like, what? The thing with the art was arguably cruel, and the rest of it was oh, so condescending. Just all around not well done.
The after effect was that Zutara went from being simply a fanon pairing to a wrong pairing. The ATLA fandom at large became a far more hostile place for Zutara fans, who were now more commonly deemed delusional and viewed as lesser fans. The vitriol only got worse when the show came to Netfilx and the next wave of antis rolled up with their co-opting of legitimate socio-political terms to paint Zutara not just as wrong but morally corrupt if not evil. It’s all very puritanical.**
So Zutara fans need to be reminded that we weren’t delusional, and we aren’t alone. It’s why it means so much to know that Dante Basco and Mae Whitman shipped their characters. And that so many other VAs came out as Zutara supporters too: Jack De Sena, Michaela Jill Murphy, Grey DeLisle, Janet Varney--even the cabbage man. For it to be revealed that it was discussed in the writers room; that the writers fought over it; that it WAS a canon possibility. (And that writers Joshua Hamilton and John O’Bryan are perfectly comfortable admitting their preference for Zutara.) To know that the Elizabeth Welch Ehasz described Zuko and Katara as an “Avatar-style Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” in the script for The Southern Raiders, and used the phrase “Zutara-feuling synchronicity and cooperation” to describe their action sequences. To see Giancarlo Volpe, a Kataanger, admit Zutara might been the better pairing in retrospect and choose a quiet scene between them (to see their “chemistry”) as what he’d most look forward to in the live action adaptation. It’s why we cling to the artwork done by Korean animation director. We aren’t delusional. We aren’t alone.
But try telling that to the general fandom, right? Most are ignorant of a lot of this, particularly Hamilton and O’Bryan’s revelations re: the writers room. A lot of Zutara fans don't even seem to know. But being baited by Netflix on their official accounts? Oh, people see that. And we are reminded in a big way that we aren't delusional and we aren't alone. And everyone else has to remember it too.
So, of course, we're having fun clowning over the scarf scene. And I think most Zutara fans know we are clowning. I don't think most expect to get canon Zutara in live action because of one little scene or the fact that their Netflix icons are facing each other. (I headcanon that that was totally the doing of Zutara shipper on staff, though, lol. Because there are a lot of us, and we are everywhere.)
And this is okay. Zutara has been doing just fine as a fanon ship. Meanwhile, NATLA might actually do Kataang justice. It always worked better as a future ship. (Really all the pairings do. But I especially don't ever need to see another 12 year old kissing let alone making out, in animation or live action, ever again.) There's a reason Padme and Anakin don't get together in Phantom Menace, after all. Also, there's always the chance they could give us Dante's or Mae's headcanon of them basically suppressing their feelings and choosing duty over love/right person-wrong time. And the odds of getting some more moments to clown over are high enough.
Anyway, TLDR: Zutara has been made to feel like an out-of-nowhere crack ship and the live action crumbs remind us that it is not. And this is at least partially why we are enjoying it. (Because, also, it's just fun!)
*Side tangent: I’ve never gotten this dark and intriguing comment. Even during Season 1, the height of the capture fic era, Zutara was always a ship fundamentally about hope, predicated on Zuko's redemption. (Back in the day, there were also plenty of antis arguing that there was no way Zuko would ever be one of the gaang.) And they say “intriguing” like it’s a bad thing? Are we not supposed to be interested in the relationships of their characters???

I wonder if they’ve got a song prepared already?
If I’m dancin’ with a group like this, I think I’d be able to write a new song~. Though, maybe dancin’ to someone else’s song will be inspiring?
Hinata: If you were to dance with the winners of the audition, and have it be a song composed by you on top of that, Tsukinaga-senpai… Now that would be a crazy cheat code, for sure.
Ibara: …Yuuta-kun, you don’t seem all too disappointed, even though you were not selected.
Yuuta: Could say the same about you, Vice Prez.
Ibara: Because I can still achieve my goal, even if I am not selected. And since His Highness and Jun have been selected, this will be a perfect advertising opportunity for Eden.
Yuuta: I’m in a similar boat, then. We just prioritized a win for 2wink.
It’s not like I lost from this. I just didn’t get selected this time around.
And so, this place just didn’t turn out to be for me. That’s why I’ll just leave it to Aniki and get my own elsewhere.
Ibara: I don’t dislike that way of thinking. Although, it is one that’s difficult to have recognized.
Mayoi: Hiiro-san, congratulations on your placement in the Vocal Dream Unit.
Your singing really is so wonderful, Hiiro-san. I just knew you would be able to make the most out of this opportunity.
Hiiro: But I feel like it’s such a shame, Mayoi-senpai. How come it didn’t work out for you?
You’re so incredibly skilled, and all…
Mayoi: Oh, no no. I am very much aware of why it didn’t work out for me.
Besides, the valuable experience I acquired in that field is plenty enough for me.
Wataru: Oya oya, I didn’t expect that I would pass.

Wataru: Oh? What is it, Sora-kun?
Sora: Sorry if Sora’s mistaken, he can’t see all too well right now, but…
Is Dai-shisho~ not happy about that?
Dai-shisho~’s voice sounds happy, even though his words don’t, and it doesn’t match up~. So Sora found it a bit odd.

Maybe SE is the problem.

This line always fucks me up a bit whenever I see it. Cos what does he mean by this??? What is "everything we stand for" Zack talking about here??? After getting shot by 100 bullets, I honestly think Zack would know better than anyone else, why would a SOLDIER, especially Sephiroth, will turn his back on all the "values" Shinra's fed them back then. "Everything" they stood for was a giant brainwash military propaganda by Shinra. Zack has a whole ass Crisis Core to come to term with it. Shinra harms innocent people, his mentor, his idol, his best friend, his girlfriend, THEY KILL HIM, MULTIPLE TIMES, RIGHT BEFORE THIS BATTLE! He'd been pickled in a lab for 4 years. He's ready to cut hundreds of his old colleagues. He threw a fucking stop sign at Shinra's helicopter at the very beginning of Rebirth. Why is he saying this now??? Genuinely what more does Shinra have to do to Zack for him to let go of the glorified ideal of SOLDIER? Took Cloud way less to see Shinra for what it is, including the nature of SOLDIER. What's the point of Crisis Core anymore??? He can kill anyone from Shinra that stands in his way, but letting go of SOLDIER title is where he draws the line?
What do YOU stand for, Zack? As a SOLDIER? You can't just separate SOLDIER from Shinra. That's not how it works. Everything every SOLDIER in existence has done is for Shinra and Shinra alone. There's no way Zack isn't aware of this.
Anyone well-versed in Zack's lore can give me a logical explanation of this dialogue after everything he's been through? Like I need an actual character breakdown that naturally leads to this conclusion, or else, to me, this single line sets his journey back several steps, unless there's some translation issue, and his JP line carries a different meaning. But that's a whole different problem.

Esme had always been a bright young lady, though it wasn’t unusual for her experiments to go awry, her passion for charms often causing her to overlook the necessary precautions. Sena picks up a pen, ready to lend his own expertise on the matter.

It’s heartening to hear that Miss Esme is as spirited as ever, though I can understand your concern for her well-being. I must say, she has a certain talent for getting herself into interesting situations, but perhaps I shouldn’t be too surprised. She is your friend after all.
From what I’ve heard from you in the past, Miss Esme seems to have a lot of potential when it comes to magical charms. It would be a shame to discourage her from that due to a few minor mishaps. Failure is a natural part of the experimental process after all, and no good invention started off as a perfect prototype. I think the best you could do is to offer her some guidance, and perhaps suggest some precautions she could take going forward.
Teleportation magic as a whole can be rather tricky for beginners to master, so distilling that magic into a charm while maintaining its abilities can be a complicated process. Perhaps incorporating some form of stabiliser could make the magical output of the charms less unpredictable and easier to control. At it’s core, teleportation is about setting an anchor point in space and then creating a bridge between that and one’s current location using magic. For that reason, it may also be helpful if Miss Esme simply used her charms to resonate with existing anchor points like the way-points rather than attempting to spontaneously create new ones every time she teleports.
If the latter is her goal, however, I’m sure Sinbad’s compass could lend her some inspiration for the main mechanism. The divine magic powering the artifact may be out of her reach but a few magic infused crystals could likely achieve a similar effect, albeit less potent and requiring a longer recharge period.
Interestingly enough, this was a discussion I once had with a few students I taught, back in the Lyceum. I’ve always found the subject interesting, so I hope you’ll forgive me for my rambling. With this letter, I’ve enclosed a few tomes about the practical applications of magic along with a few of my own research notes. I hope that you and Miss Esme find them helpful, or at the very least interesting.
Perhaps we could discuss your findings in more detail over lunch. I would love to take a look at Miss Esme’s creations first-hand and maybe even offer some of my own input if she’d like.

Hey, what is this about FFXV translator shipping Noctis and Ignis? Can you share a source for it?
That's a different translator. They changed the English dialogue to make Noct and Ignis more shippy because they shipped it.
I didn't know at the time but thinking back Iggy did seem very one sided in love with Noctis but I just ignored it cause Noctis was in love with Luna. Now I know it's because some dipstick on a power trip changed the script I'm annoyed. Why tf can't sena employ people who just do their damn jobs?

CHAPTER 5: OUROBOROS
NOVA IUVENTA is NOVA'S very own VISUAL UNIVERSE. the new mini-album songs will be introduced through 'CHAPTER 5: OUROBOROS' storylines. in this SHORT FILM, students are stuck in a time-loop that they try to get out of. which means that besides the members of NOVA, most of the cast will reenact the same motions in every scene, unless affected by one of the girls' actions.
ic wise, all the selected actors were contacted on JANUARY 6 about passing the audition and given the script the following day. the short film will be filmed from FEBRUARY 10 to FEBRUARY 21 and premiere on MARCH 5 in various cities KOREA in selected theaters. MAIN, LEAD and SUPPORT cast will be present at the SEOUL PREMIERE, at 7:00PM on MARCH 5. finally, NI:5O will be released on NOVA's YOUTUBE channel twenty-four hours later.
SYNOPSIS
*please note that this is just a summary, as mentioned above, each loop will have people go through the same motion. therefore, unless stated otherwise, your muse will always be in the repeated scene.
PART 1: ACCENDIO - NABI POV
SCENE: NABI'S WALK TO SCHOOL
the film opens on NABI making her way to school. as she walks on the streets joyfully and confidently, she explains that she was blessed with LUCK at her birth. since her childhood, luck has always been on her side. in a flashback a young nabi (played by a child actress) randomly picks lottery numbers for her father and they become millionaires. returning to the present, the bright and happy nabi seems to be at the right place at the right moment for diverse incidents. right before a crossroad, she stops to tie her shoe and avoids a painting falling for above, dropped by movers. she shrugs and crosses the street.
SCENE: NABI'S CLASSROOM CAST: CHAE RUA, NAM GYURI, HAN ROWON
the way to her class goes much the same way, she's greeted by various people and greets them back joyfully, another student (RUA), reminds her that they have a dance practice in the evening. once inside, she's joined by her best friend (GYURI) with whom she gossips about the latests news. they are joined by several other girls, with whom they chat happily until their homeroom teacher (ROWON) asks them to sit down. when nabi is given her latest test back, a perfect score of 100 is noted on it.
SCENE: NABI'S WALK TO SCHOOL
the scene repeats the same way, but this time, her narration is hesitant and at times, she keeps frowns, noting that this all feels like a déjà vu
SCENE: NABI'S WALK TO SCHOOL
again, the same scene, but nabi is clearly spooked.
SCENE: NABI'S WALK TO SCHOOL + CLASSROOM CAST: LEE HYUNSO (note: he's been in the scene since the beginning, but only his feet were visible before)
nabi has been living the same day again and again. she's over it by now. no more narration. in fact, she's so annoyed by now, that she stops before reaching the crossroads and yells up at the workers to stop texting on his phone and do his job right before he kills someone. the worker (HYUNSOO) bows apologetically and secures the painting. however, this does nothing to better her mood and as her friends chat around her, she's sitting quietly, gaze vacant.
PART 2: MY WORLD - MIYU POV
SCENE: MIYU'S HOME CAST: ITO MIO
the day begins with MIYU getting out of bed with purpose. as she washes up and changes into her school uniform, she narrates that her life has always been a little strange. the house is clearly eclectic with unique arts and objects, almost looking more like an antique shop than a home, 80s japanese music can be heard coming from downstairs. she checks the time and leaves her bedroom. she counts down the seconds before opening the door and expertly catches a baseball that would've otherwise hit her face. her little sister (MIO) whistles, clearly impressed by miyu's reflexes. miyu's narration continues and she explains that she has been living this day 12 times already. she throws the ball back to her sister who catches it with a 'humpf' and ask since when has she become good at sports. miyu ignores her, going about her routine, which entails any accident from happening, starting with getting to the stove before the breakfast gets burned, due to her parents being too distracted dancing to their music. the girl clearly has a predetermined route, and only goes through the motions, until one day, she sees nabi walking down the corridor. she snaps out of it when a girl slaps her boyfriend (MINKYU), yelling at him for having forgotten their anniversary. miyu winces, realizing she missed the timing to prevent this from happening. she turns her gaze towards nabi, seeming to hesitate before changing directions and going after nabi. she runs after the girl and grabs her wrist. as nabi turns, miyu pants and asks her: "does time curse ring bells to you?"
PART 3: MOTTO - NABI x MIYU
SCENE: CAFETERIA
having found each other, the girls begin meeting every lunch hour, where they share their experiences, findings and theorize about what could've happened and how to resolve their issues. after a couple of loops, miyu passes by a table, frowns and turns around to stare at a student busy studying, her lunch forgotten. out loud, MIYU notes that she wasn't reading this book the previous day. with a sigh, MILAN raises her head, clearly annoyed to have been found out. while nabi and miyu sit down (uninvited) with the girl, clearly excited to have found another 'cursed one'. excitement not shared by milan. as they question the girl and why she didn't tell them before, she explains that before this time loop, she was clearly on her way to fail her CSATs, but this 'curse' is giving her a chance to study and perhaps get to university. when nabi asks why didn't she study before, she gets extremely defensive, packs up her things and leaves.
PART 4: YOYO & TRAMPOLINE - NABI x MIYU
SCENE: AROUND THE SCHOOL CAST: BAE NATHAN, CHA SANGWON
the following day, the duo returns to the cafeteria, nothing has changed, except that milan isn't here. they sit down to eat, both glancing at the spot where milan used to sit from time to time. they decide to try to find her the following day. a loop later, the two meet in the corridor and decide to look around the school to find the other student. they check inside the girl's classroom and the library but cannot find her. they decide to check the indoor gym where a couple of boys (including NATHAN and SANGWON) are playing basketball, girls fawning over them on the side. but it's a girl (MINSEO) jumping and doing flips and tricks on a trampoline who catches her attention as she questions since when the 'horse girl' has been this good at this. before she can investigate, however, someone (NAYOUNG) suddenly appears at their side. she's playing with a yoyo and asks them directly how long they've been in the timeloop. from nayoung they learn that minseo have also been stuck in this timeloop for several days now. she explains that minseo has been trying various hobbies before sticking to trampoline. from time to time, minseo interjects herself. She even reveals that they know about milan but don't want to bother her due to her difficult family situation, which makes it impossible for her to focus on her studies. nabi begins to feel guilty for how their interaction went upon learning this. when asked if they have found a clue on how to break out of the timeloop, nayoung tells them they haven't even tried. while minseo has been trying various things, she's been testing how far sangwon is willing to go just to catch her attention. to prove her point, she tells them to wait a couple of seconds, after which she waves to the boy who waves back and gets hit by the ball nathan has just thrown at him. his friends rush to him, while he assures everybody that he's doing just fine, much to nayoung's amusement. nabi and miyu exchange a glance, clearly wondering if nayoung is sane. after glancing at minseo still doing flips on the trampoline, they seem to wonder if BOTH are insane.
PART 5: FIND - NAYOUNG x MINSEO x NABI x MIYU
SCENE: SCHOOL YARD CAST : BAE SOJIN, HAN NOEUL
NAYOUNG leads the 3 others towards the school yard and finally explains that she hasn't just been experimenting with sangwon, but also been testing causality in various ways, theorizing that by doing so she'd manage to find a singularity and thus the way out. she tells them that she doesn't believe that they need to 'correct' things as if this is a puzzle, but rather break the simulation enough to overwhelm whatever has them trapped. she stops in front of stairs leading down towards the track field and tells them to watch. on their right SOJIN is walking towards them, furiously texting on his phone. on their left a boy (NOEUL) is skateboarding towards them. a notification on his phone distracts him as sojin suddenly change directions, however, before he can go too far, nayoung calls out after him, which gets to stop and noeul to try to avoid him last minute and fall down the stairs. nayoung waves a hand for the girls to not worry as everybody else rushes to help the student. meanwhile, sojin appears clearly distressted as he feels like he keeps living the worse day of his life she tells the small group that noeul has broken his arm and would miss the rest of the day because of that. MIYU asks if this was necessary and nayoung admits that it wasn't but she needed to prove her point.
in a flashback, nayoung is seen following noeul for a full day. in a voiceover, she points out all the events that don't take place with noeul's absence. MINSEO cuts her flashback by noting that she's a bit creepy and the two other girls clearly agree. NABI then jokes that they should start a fire in the school to completely deviate from the normal timeline but nayoung seems to consider the idea seriously
meanwhile, inside the school a girl (SENA) is observing them by the window. next to her on the floor, MILAN is sitting and studying yet another book. she notes that nayoung is back to torturing noeul. since her companion doesn't reply to her, sena asks her if she isn't worried that nayoung could murder someone just for the sake of proving her theory and milan dismisses her worries, explaining that nayoung isn't actually cruel but methodic and is just collecting evidence.
sena sits down next to milan and sighs, her last word before the scene cuts is "you could end this… we could end this."
PART 6 RIGHT NOW - NOVA
the story rewinds to the early days of the loop, before MILAN has figured out that she can make use of it for her studies. school's out and she's using a shortcut behind the school to get to her part-time job faster. she needs to traverse a small wooded area, but while on her way there, she notices something shining a little further way. she feels drawn to it and without realizing, she's suddenly standing over the object that's revealed to be a scepter. she's confused and a little scared. she looks around her, trying to make sense of what happened, but catches a glimpse of a hooded figure dressed in black. her breath quickens and she runs away, terrified.
during following loop, she explains what happened to SENA and the other girl convinces her to take her to the scepter. milan is reluctant but sena convinces her. after classes, milan takes her to the same spot, but unlike the day before, there's no hooded figure. sena wonders if it wasn't just a shadow. sena picks up the scepter but nothing happens. during the following loops, sena is seen studying the scepter and investigating for additional clues. she finds the number 6 engraved on trees. the following day, she explains her findings and theory to milan who has a feeling that something is wrong.
back to the present time and the two girls sitting next to each other, sena suddenly catches her friend's shoulder in alarm. milan has a nosebleed and her eyes flutter open at sena's contact. sena pleads with her as her episodes are getting more frequent and she's starting to lose consciouness. milan argues that she just needs to stop studying for a couple of loops. the same day, NAYOUNG experiences her first nosebleed while in class.
while the other four continue investigating and testing theories, sena keeps an eye on them and milan. she tries to leave them clues to lead them towards the scepter, but they are going too slow and she fears that they're running out of time. MINSEO is the next to experience nosebleeds.
finally, one day, milan collapses during a lunch break. unable to wake her up, sena runs to the four others. they are surprised to learn that there's another one like them and want to know how she knew about them. sena tells them that she has no time to explain and they need to help her because milan has collapsed. since they are still suspicious, she asks if any of them have started to have nosebleeds. minseo and nayoung share a look and agrees to help. sena asks them to trust her, that she'd explain everything later. they rush upstairs to pick up milan and sena leads them frantically to the scepter. milan stops when she realizes what sena is doing, nabi and minseo, who have been helping her, have no choice but to let go of her and let her sit on the ground as she yells at sena to not do it. meanwhile, nabi, miyu, nayoung and minseo surround sena and the scepter. nayoung is the first to inquire about it, but an answer never comes…
as soon as sena touches the scepter time stops around her, her body is frozen but her expression turns into one of terror. in voice over, she's heard saying "at that moment, i remembered what i had forgetten; we were never supposed to remember." a tear drops from her eye as the camera pans away from her. the school and the students are nowhere to see, they are in a field surrounded by trees. Six hooded figures dressed in black come out from the wood, surrounding the still frozen protagonists. the last image is of one of the hooded figures smirking [[ NABI ]].
PREPARATION
since most of the film is a repeat of the same scenes and motions, from JANUARY 7 to FEBRUARY 9, the cast has been learning the routine and timing of each scene. those with low dancing points are likely to struggle more as this is similar to performing a choreography. in terms of workload, guests are expected to only need 2 days total for this part of rehearsals. others will need 2 to 5 days rehearsals per week, depending on their roles. the schedule isn't fixed and depends on artists' availability.

at the moment, 5.7k people are following the kataang tag, not 2.9k, as you said, why would you lie? in addition, even on Tumblr (which remained almost the last popular zk place among all fan platforms), Zukka is ahead of Zutara in popularity, and a lot of talented and popular creators of fan art and fan fiction are now concentrated in the Zukka and Maiko fandom. It is fundamentally a mistake to focus on the popularity of the ship, because shipping should be for personal pleasure, but this only shows that most people are ATLA fans (namely fans, not casual viewers) they actively love ATLA and did not see zutara in the canon. In addition, can you give evidence of your words that «almost all of the main cast and most of the writers» love zutara? From the cast, only Dante actively confessed his love for zutara, but he also spoke about his love for zukka, Mae Whitman not against Zutara and joked about it, but she also said in podcast that she also loves kataang, the rest of the actors did not speak at all about their preferences in shipping (except Grey DeLisle who prefers zucest).
none of the screenwriters has ever confessed his love for Zutara, on the contrary, Ehasz has said several times that he loves Maiko, he also wrote almost all the most significant maiko and kataang episodes. The only one of the 13 main writers of ATLA who spoke about sympathy for Zutara is John O'Bryan. Zutara never featured in any of the original scripts, and in ATLA's "bible," the only love triangle that was originally planned was Aang-Katara-Toph (who was a boy in the original script). In a recent interview, Ehaz also answered the question of how he feels about zutara vs kataang, that he, as a professional screenwriter, "follows his characters" and their final canonical choice of love interest is the choice of the character himself, not the writers.

many cast members and former writers on the official atla podcast, braving the elements, have talked about shipping zutara — including, but not limited to, dante basco, jack de sena, michaela murphy, joshua hamilton, and john o’bryan. grey delisle, mae whitman & greg baldwin have also spoken about being zutara shippers. i’m not sure why them liking or showing support for other ships somehow means they don’t ship zutara, because people don’t need to ship only a single couple to prove they’re “real” shippers lmao. i like azutara, sukitara, ty luko & even book 1 kat.aang myself; that doesn’t make me any less of a zutara shipper.
i’m also not sure why you expect me to do the work of providing evidence for you when, given the fact that you’re here, i’m certain you have just as much access to google as i do. this information is freely available online. feel free to fact check me.
and let me say this again, in case it was not clear enough: i truly do not care about zutara’s popularity. even if none of the cast and writers shipped it, even if the tag only had 10 people, even if every single wonderfully talented writer & artist & AMV editor & GIF maker in this fandom left, i would still ship it. because it’s a better story, because it is more thematically and narratively cohesive, and because it makes me happy.
and if you disagree with that, that’s fine by me. but somehow trying to “prove” to me that zutara is unpopular and no one likes it is not only a) factually false it’s also b) not going to do a damn thing to change my mind lmao. the opinions of other people have never been a reason for me to ship zutara, and they never will be.

the smallest sniffle out of you had nanami’s fork halting midway to his mouth, eggs hanging off the metal prongs. “what was that?”
you made a soft sound, having just sunk your teeth into your bread, chewing leisurely. you swallowed, head tilting with a quirked brow. “...what was what?” and you sniffled once more, as if handing him more proof of your state (or what he assumed was your state) on a silver platter.
“that.” he set his cutlery down and reached an arm over to where you were sitting next to him, the back of his palm resting against your forehead. “you’re burning up.”
“babe, you know i usually run hot.”
he shook his head, palms cupping your cheek, tilting your face in his hands as though looking for something. “not this warm, no.”
“oh, well...” you shrugged, taking another bite of your sandwich. “i probably just have a little cold then.” oh, how you’d regret those words—the ease with which you’d suggested a cold in your current state.
the word cold seemed to activate something primal in your husband. within minutes, he’d transformed your living room into a sort of medical center to hold you. said something about ‘not taking any chances’ with you and the baby.
digital thermometer, three different flavours of throat lozenges, a bulky humidifier he’d pulled from god knows where. enough vitamin c and zinc to keep you set for weeks.
you were only four months along at this point, but nanami had already transformed into the most devoted, slightly neurotic expectant father. past his usual devotion for you as his wife and into a more hybrid form, to best describe it.
“it’s probably just pregnancy rhinitis. the doctor said it’s common,” you tried to reassure him, but he was already mentally running through protocols.
“we don’t know that. you’re going to rest, and i’m calling in sick.”
“kento, you don’t need to—”
“nope. i’m not leaving you alone while you’re unwell and pregnant.” his tone brooked no argument, already set in his decision. “end of discussion.”

“your immune system isn’t as strong as it would usually be since you’re pregnant now,” he explained to you seriously for what felt like the third time, fluffing pillows beneath you with military precision. “anything minor can develop into something major. that’s the last thing we want.”
“I don’t think the sniffles are that serious, kento.”
“sniffles can become bronchitis. bronchitis can become pneumonia. pneumonia can—”
“okay! okay, i get the picture.” you held up your hands in surrender, lips lifting into a small smile. “you have yourself a willing patient, mr. nanami.”

within the hour, he’d already called your obstetrician, researched pregnancy-safe remedies for a common cold, and bundled you under your favorite cashmere throw. the man who approached work and life with methodical precision now applied that same intensity to your minor ailment. possible cold—you weren’t entirely sure yet.
“the doctor advised me to keep you hydrated and well-rested. this is the best tea for your throat,” he reported, settling beside you with a steaming mug that emanated the familiar scent of honey-lemon. “also no medications unless absolutely necessary.”
for the next couple of days, you lived like an invalid. a cherished, doted-on invalid, but one nonetheless. instead of going into the office, he worked from home, laptop on the little bed desk you’d gotten ages ago while you snoozed against his chest.
whenever you stirred, he was immediately attentive—checking your temperature with one of those digital thermometers, tsking when it glowed orange on the screen, bringing you more tea, adjusting your position and the airflow of the humidifiers so you could breathe easier. it had turned out to be a cold, though mild.
“you really don’t have to hover,” you protested groggily during one of his temperature checks. “i’m so much better now.”
“you still sound nasally, so no, you’re probably not,” he observed, brow furrowed with concern. “and you’re not eating enough. stay here, i’m gonna make you soup.”
he’d taken to preparing small, frequent meals—bland but nutritious soups, fresh fruit cut into perfect pieces, whole grain toast with honey. everything was measured, planned, optimized for both your recovery and the baby’s needs.
“ken, you’re gonna get sick sticking around like this,” you warned as he climbed back into bed with you as night fell, tugging you into his embrace with familiar ease.
“impossible,” he said confidently, arms wrapping around you. “my immune system is excellent. besides, i need to take care of you and the baby.”
he’d said all this while letting you sleep curled up against his chest, breathing in the same air as your sick, congested self for hours on end.
he carried you to bed each night, despite your protests that you could walk perfectly fine. slept there with you throughout the night. in the morning, before you even woke, he’d already have a light breakfast prepped on a tray for you, an accompanying flower there just to see you smile.
“this is so excessive,” you’d told him on day three, watching him sanitize the en-suite bathroom doorknob for the second time that morning.
“incorrect. nothing is excessive when it comes to you two,” he replied matter-of-factly, moving on to wipe down the light switches.
the domesticity of it all made your heart swell, and to see him so set on making sure you were getting better? you could try to take precautions to keep the illness contained to yourself, but...you wouldn’t deny him the pleasure of playing doctor and taking care of you. you weren’t sure he would let you anyway.
by the fourth day, you felt completely normal again. better than normal, actually—all that rest and pampering had left you feeling more energetic than you’d felt in weeks.
“see? i was right,” nanami said with quiet satisfaction once that congested quality had left your voice, your temperature back to normal. “all you needed was some proper care and attention. no sick wives or babies.”
“my hero,” you teased, wrapping your arms around his midsection from behind. “though i think you might’ve been a tad bit overprotective.”
he’d looked so silently pleased with himself and those caretaking abilities that had nursed you right back to health.
which made it all the more amusing when you stirred the next morning to the sound of him trying to muffle a cough in the connecting bath.
“mm, ken?” you called out sweetly from your position on the bed, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes.
“good morning, sweetheart,” he replied, his voice noticeably hoarse. he emerged from the bathroom, hair slightly mussed, looking like he was trying very hard to appear normal. “how are you feeling?”
you eyed him for a moment, already picking up on little tells that betrayed his condition. “better. are you feeling okay?”
“fine.” but even as he said it, he sniffled, then looked annoyed at the betrayal. “perfectly fine. peachy.”
you watched him go through his morning routine, noting how he moved just a fraction slower, how he kept clearing his throat, how he sniffled softly when he thought you weren’t paying attention.
“oh, baby,” you cooed gently, immediately moving to his side. “you’re getting sick.”
“i don’t get sick.” his voice was getting more congested by the hour, but his denial remained absolute. you weren’t sure you’d ever seen him sick during the entire duration of your relationship, so why would he be sick now? “i have an excellent immune system.”
“usually yeah.” you pressed the back of your hand to his forehead, mimicking his own gentle gesture from days before. “you’re crazy warm, baby.”
“i’m not—” he tried to protest, but you were already guiding him to sit on the edge of the bed, standing between his thighs. “i need to get ready for work.”
“ken,” you said softly, taking his face in your hands. “you spent a full three days breathing in my germs and letting me plaster my sick self to your chest. your immune system is strong but...” you made a slight expression, thumbing over his cheekbones, “anyone would get sick after lingering in a hazard zone like that.”
he leaned into the coolness of your touch despite himself, eyes fluttering closed for just a moment. “i’m good,” he insisted, though his voice was getting rougher, taking on a near drowsy tone. “i feel okay.”
yup. sick, alright. beginning stages, but sick all the same. “i’m calling in sick for you. lie down.”
“what?” he perked up, eyes creaking open, head shaking. “absolutely not. i have meetings—”
“—meetings that can wait.” you were already reaching for his phone. “your health comes first. isn’t that what you told me?”

by evening, he was fully congested and running a low fever of 38°c (100.4°F). you guided him to the couch, the big man wrapped in the same cashmere throw he’d had you bundled in, his head angled onto your chest as you spoon fed him soup you’d made.
“this is ludicrous,” he mumbled around the spoon, even as he relaxed into your embrace. “i was so careful. i washed my hands constantly, kept proper distance when possible...”
you hummed, utterly enamored at his behavior despite yourself. hangs around his pregnant wife like a helicopter husband for days --> is surprised when he gets the same cold she had.
“i should be taking care of you. you’re pregnant.”
“yes, pregnant. not physically inept, baby.”
“but the baby—”
“—is fine. we both are. and you’re going to be fine too, once you stop being so stubborn about being sick.”
he was quiet for a moment, letting you feed him another spoon of soup, throat soothed by the warmth. “...my throat is just a bit sore.”
“there we go.” you pressed a kiss to the top of his head. “poor baby. i’ll go wash this and get you some tea.”
“i can get it—”
“nanami kento, do not move an inch from that couch. i’m bringing you tea.”
you bustled around the kitchen, preparing his tea exactly how he’d made yours—honey, lemon, a touch of ginger. when you returned, he was huddled in the blanket, looking thoroughly miserable despite his attempts to maintain composure.
“here, sweetheart.” you settled beside him, holding the mug while he sipped. “slowly...don’t burn your tongue.”
and you practically helicopter-wifed him for the rest of the night, masked up just so you could somewhat safely sleep on the pullout in the living room with him. something about having your strong, well-mannered, and usually very collected husband all sniffly and seemingly more cuddly made you a teensy bit giddy. not that you’d tell him that. he was already properly knocked out, soft lips parted with slow breaths.
still very warm since the fever hadn’t broken quite yet—but you were hoping it would by morning. he did have a strong immune system, after all.
you called in sick for him for an additional two days, during which you'd be absolutely insufferable for playing nursemaid.
you’re sure he wouldn’t mind too much.

This is my one short answer of the 3 haha. The fragrance I have in mind for Rin is Alkemia's Honored Ghosts which is: Earl Grey tea, black raspberry creams, rosewater-saffron syrup, cinnamon honey, white amber, and vanilla incense. It is. So. Delicious smelling. And a liiiitle bit OTT girly vibes for a weekend date.

I mean this like 40% joking: I LOVE TO BE A FUTAMI HATER. So Rin can hate on him too in the AUs where they cross paths. Here's that awful guy:

I love how the oldest two characters in Charade Maniacs (Mizuki & Futami) try to act responsibly for the rest of the group even though they are very much polar opposites / enemies. <3 I HC they are extremely on guard about each other's movements but Futami is way more petty in his approach.
OK MY BIGGEST BEEF THO??? The scene where everyone introduces themselves. :) I don't think the EN translation really captured the nuance well?? but my very amateur take on the scene is like:
Mizuki: I'm Mizuki Iochi. I'm an ordinary office worker. Futami: ordinary, huh...? Mizuki: That reaction is kind of rude. :)))
[This is a scene pointing out Mizuki's very androgynous appearance/manner of speaking – they refer to themself with boku pronouns but their suit blazer is distinctly in a women's cut. Side note: Mizuki's reply!!! Is honestly what instantly stole my heart. ]
I have plenty of other reasons find Futami annoying and fun to hate on from other routes, but I feel his vibe is soooo many snide remarks and backhanded comments, etc. :)) Mochi has too many other things to deal with; Rin and I will fight him instead.

In AUs where Rin participates with the rest of the CM cast in the Other World stream: the extremely twisted nature of the game and drama plots brings out a lot of ugliness in Rin's personality hahaha. The mystery/thriller/romance episodic drama they are forced to participate in becomes a vehicle for some pretty nasty exchanges and brutal improv in front of a live audience.
The vanilla script is constructed with Mizuki's character arc crisis at the center point, particularly leading up to the season finale. And Rin will LITERALLY twist that knife... For fun?? As a result of the life/death situation? For sick dark AU reasons?? TLDR: it's a reason for Rin to (not so gently) force Mizuki to confront their deepest insecurities in the meanest way possible and DO YOU KNOW WHAT the arcadians watching the stream EAT THAT UP 10000000%. (Make chat collectively explode in "omg??? wtf???" at the edge of their seat.) That is SHOWBIZ ON ARCADIA, GOODNIGHT. <3
[This is to say, Mizuki's bonus interlude canon to the game DEVASTATED MEEEE and I literally want to make it worse and turn the tables in a way that dear MC Sena could not. </3 see snippet: OC-tober prompt]

Man, another scene for the books is this Taiyou vs. Devilbats scene in the ES21 Tagalog Dub:
Hiruma says something cryptic and complicated like "Eyeshield's number 21 always faces forward."
In the SCRIPT, Sena's supposed to think, "What's he talking about?"
But in the DUB, he says, "Ano na namang pinagsasasabi nitong si Youichi?"
Which, in English, translates more accurately to: "What the hell is Youichi yapping on about now?!"

probably reading checkmate? I don't remember exactly what it was but it was january 2023 when I started to get obsessed with knights I think that was because I read checkmate + lionheart.
4. what's the thing you love the most about your Blorbo?
he's such a bitch omg. I love his haterisms his inability to have a normal relationship how normal and well adjusted he is.. I like that he dgaf about gender I like the few moments of clarity where he is actually well adjusted and such. euthanasia finale comes to mind the one scene in midsummer nights dream comes to mind. "I know. makoto yuuki-kun I've always known" HAUNTS ME. but mostly he's such a bitch 🥰
23. is your Blorbo a victim of badly written script / bad plot / character assassination in the hands of canon?
almost definitely. I feel like it's almost unavoidable in a series with as much writing as enstars but some characters definitely get it worse than others. I don't keep up with stories and haven't read many of the more recent ones (more recent being like. last two years) tho I heard his centre event massacred his character. I don't know tho bc I didn't read it.

nova iuventa: ouroboros starter for @lgcmilan
"unnie, aren't you worried that she's going to kill someone?"
sena winces at her delivery of the line. there was way too much emphasis on the "kill." the director must have noticed too, as he begins telling her to tone it down a little bit, and to try again. so she tries again;
"unnie, aren't you worried that she's going to kill someone?"
although it's better, it still feels unnatural. she shakes her head as the director calls for a quick pause, asking her to go through the scene once without the blocking, just focusing on her delivery for a minute while he talks to the crew about other more technical aspects of the scene's production.
so, she sits down next to milan after grabbing her script. "it's a bit hard..." she says as she slides down into a slouch. she leans back, head against the wall, thinking about how she could possibly make this work. acting has never been easy on the girl, but this- having this important of a role this time feels almost undeserved, especially given that she can't even get her first line right. "i feel like if i was watching nayoung unnie do all these things, i would be really concerned? but i guess i need to remember that in this story, we're not that close..." she sits in silence for another moment, flipping the corners of the pages with her fingers. "what do you think i would sound like if this were real life?"
