It's not a loss from his side either, since you always fret over whatever minor sting he gets from the bites and he doesn't miss the opportunity to amp up the act in hopes that your attention will linger, even if just for a minute longer.

Your connection to Mydei drives away even the most devout followers of Zagreus from disturbing your peace, a Verax Leo is nothing in comparison to that. Even if you give consecutive wrong answers, none of the Verax Leos will dare clamp down on your hand, unless they fancy finding themselves in pieces the next day. And if the prince himself is present? They'll declare your answer to be correct, even if it very obviously isn't.

Ordinarily, Anaxa wouldn't even allow you to indulge in those scheming lions' subpar riddles, being fully aware of how much of a scam they are. If you really are that eager to burn away your braincells in a whim, he can spin far better riddles for you — just ask of him. But if by some miracle you manage to drag the scholar to the Leo, there'd be no chance of any pain, given how easily he solves whatever is thrown his way.

For the haunted au I had an devilish little thought. Has Optimus ever had a really bad time and when the primes try to give him advice he just shouts "you guy's FAILED!" Like for all their wisdom they couldn't beat the quintisons or see Sentinels betrayal coming?

He feels bad but in his spark he wishes HE didn't have to do what THEY couldn't.

i can see it happening with the caveat that he immediately regrets saying it. but it's too late. it's the kind of thing you say in the heat of the moment and then feel the ground drop under your feet because you never meant to say it out loud. but now it's out there and you can never unsay it.

it's just. a bad situation all around :(

Neal and Mozzie make such good partners in crime because Neal is all charming and silver-tongued, yes, but a lot of people are on their guard for people like that, despite how unfairly good at it he is. But if Mozzie walks in first and just starts being absolutely bonkers and insane, and they’re distracted and annoyed and not thinking, Neal now looks even more trustworthy and down to earth and, well, normal, which makes his natural charm work even better because they would so much rather be interacting with him than the guy who is actively being we obnoxious as possible for the sole reason of creating a distraction and making it too difficult for the marks to remember that sometimes people who sound trustworthy aren’t.
