pardon my french but I just saw a post about how someone thinks Solas must be great at eating pussy, and it's in all honesty, and with all the kindness in my heart and all the understanding in the world that I say that, while I've read some things I've thought were profoundly, irredeemably incorrect..... in my whole life, I don't think I've ever agreed less with another human being on any singular statement.
girl, not only are we not on the same page, I think we're reading completely different books altogether.

Thinking about a proper Bad End world state where every Bad Decision is reflected in DATV. Heres a few specific thoughts:
Origins:
Kill Leliana, and her ghost disappears at the end of Inquisition and she never comes back > She cant be or help the Divine > Divine less powerful, the South is more fucked.
Stab Morrigan in Witch Hunter > Injury causes permanent damage. She's just weak enough and/or jaded enough that by DATV she didn't accept Mythal and can't help you.
Sten Loses Sword > Never returns to Seheron and never becomes Arishok. The Arishok in DATV stays with the Antaam and makes them a stronger, more unified military under a power crazed leader controlled by the Evanuris.
DA2, imagining DA2 companions would have comeback to DATV otherwise:
Any of the companions dying/not loyal results in them being absent in DATV and weaker factions as a result. Merrill would have been a leader among the Veil Jumpers, Fenris would have been a key member of the Shadow Dragons but now they aren't. Isabela no longer leads the Lords and the Lords are fewer in number and weaker now, if she was taken by the Arishok, she's been made Qunari and you have to kill her (ala Jack in ME3.)
Anders may not have had much impact either way honestly bc I think him living would still be pretty contentious with a lot of characters and he's not having a great time either way. No Aveline means weaker/fucked Kirkwall as she's not there to be the interim Viscount while Varric's away. Dead Hawke siblings means weaker Grey Wardens.
Inquisition:
A lot of Inquisition decisions should make or break the survival of the south. Majority sidequests done > Stronger South. Otherwise they have less morale, less troops, and still recovering from the Blight and Corypheus. Sidequests in DAO can effect the South's Readiness here too (can you tell I like ME3?)
Companion loyalty affects returning characters again. No loyalty Dorian has way less resources, if not just ousted from the Magisterium all together. Absolutely no Archon Pavus. No Sera means worse off for the people, Red Jenny's less effective if not wiped out. No loyalty Viv or Cass means the Divine is not going to send much if any aide. They're too busy trying to protect the South. Cole's just gone, otherwise I think he should have come back at the end to help you convince Solas. Dead Blackwall is a less strong Wardens. Not helping Josie or Cullen means they are in absolutely no position to assist and Cullen is just dead from Lyrium addiction. So little help from the nobility and Templars. Varric's ending is the same. We already get an Iron Bull loyalty effect in Trespasser.
Speaking of Trespasser; keeping the Inquisition means you have a bit more resources but Inquisitor is mostly relegated to helping the South. Dissolving the Inquisition means the Inquisitor is available as an advisor/leader in the North but with fewer resources. Solas loyalty should also affect how bad Quizzy's arm is. If they weren't friends he ripped the anchor away and now they have chronic pain and are less combat capable.
Bonus: Lavellan who's clan died is extra depressed and the Veil Jumpers have less strength.
Bonus 2, this actually would have been good: Saving Avernus' research and letting the Architect live with a living Hero of Fereldan should have let us find a cure for the blight. This doesn't happen but will be factored in as if it could have in my following summary:
Have it all come together and a Rook who does everything right can barely scrape by, but with no chance of convincing Solas to bind the Veil to himself. The world is fucked and it will take decades to recover. The blight is still causing mayhem but it recedes as years go by. Tevinter doesn't survive at all, with the hit to its military strength with the massive loss of Venatori + the remaining Antaam absolutely decimating both sides. The Qunari in Seheron close themselves off and don't interact with any other country for years. Southern Thedas is nearly a wasteland and the Chantry breaks up into disjointed, often warring, sects despite the Divine's best attempt to keep power. Mages and elves persecuted everywhere, blamed for everything.
A Rook who does everything wrong just ends the world. Special options appear when encountering Elgar'nan and Ghilanain to agree with them or consider their reasoning. Taking these let's you change sides at the end of the game and let Elgar'nan rule. Potentially even cause Ghil to survive if Harding/Davrin aren't loyal or you can send someone unqualified to sabotage the plan. If you change sides with any companions still alive you have to fight and kill them. The world is engulfed in Blight and everyone dies.
Alternate Bad End: You become convinced by Solas to side with him. Everything is already so fucked that tearing down the veil sounds like the only good option remaining. You fight back your own companions while he finishes the ritual and the world is engulfed in raw magic, killing every non mage, awakening the magic in all elves, and unleashing every spirit and demon alike on an unprepared world. Also considering Dwarves kind of surviving but being thrust back into a world filled with magic but no connection to the Titans leaves them fully Tranquil.

List of Sexualities for Current list of Dragon Age MCs:
For Freedom’s Design
Cian Mahariel: Bisexual. Does prefer men as a whole but is fairly equal in his interest. Romances Zevran, and has a threesome with Isabela.
Lorry Hawke: Bisexual. Goes for girls mostly due to her complicated feeling on motherhood and the scare of a child. Romances Isabela. Did have a minor crush on Fenris that went nowhere.
Mila Trevylan: Asexual but unaware. She’s interested in sex but only in a ‘this sounds interesting’ thing. Does enjoy it so she remains unaware. Romances Iron Bull after a brief flirtation with Blackwell she ends due to her uncomfortable with the idea of being with someone who sees her as the Herald of Andraste.
Good Men Need Rules
Folcher Aueducan: Bisexual but unaware. He’s always just looked at woman. Romances Leliana.
Archie Hawke: Demisexual. Struggled with ideas of attraction for most of his life. Romances Merrill who he loves dearly.
Lucas Cadash: Straight. Romances Cassandra.
Crashing Fantasies
Noamahn Tabris: Straight. He once tried with a guy but deemed it not for him. Romances Morrigan
Aine Hawke: Bisexual. Had a huge thing for Isabela but ends up with Anders. Is a himbo to the max.
Davhalla Lavellan: Pansexual. Had a thing for multiple members of the Inquisition, including Harding. Davhalla ends up with Solas in the end.
Those We Care For
Rosalind Amell: Gaaaaaaaaaay. She didn’t used to be but she developed into it. Romances Leliana.
Lilith Hawke: Bisexual. Has no preference. Gets with Anders.
Shok Adaar: Bisexual. Has a thing for Blackwall and Sera. I had two ways she went I’ve landed on her romancing Sera.
Mistakes Make us People
Thea Surana: Straight. Mostly. A pretty butch woman turns her head but it’s not common. Ends up with Alistair.
Teddy Hawke: Straight. Annoyed me since I wanted to romance Isabela but Teddy kept yelling straight. Romances Fenris then Anders.
Ophelia Trevylan: Straight. Never tried and never wanted to. Pretended to be to help a friend avoid and annoying admirer. Romances Blackwall.
With Bloody Hands
Muirin Cousland: No clue. Legit this girl is only into power. She does end up carings for Alistair in the end but she romances him for the power.
Willow Hawke: Straight. Romances Sebastian because she honestly liked him but it was a plus he’s a prince.
Gloria Trevylan: Straight. Was only into Iron Bull at first but romances Cullen for the power. Does actually come to love him.
Uneasy Rests the Laurels
Lochlan Hawke: Bisexual. Romances Zevran and married Anora. Ends up in an honest triad with them.
Simon Hawke: Gay. Very much. Romances Fenris.
Edmund Trevylan: Bisexual. Romances Dorian, and loves him very much.
Revolution is Never Kind
Runa Amell: Murder. And men. Very straight, romances Zevran.
Wyome Hawke: asexual but very into Anders and Justice. Has no positive or negative thoughts in sex.
Faith Sustains
Brynja Brosca: Gay. Has had sex with men for money but rates it a 0 each time. Romances Leliana.
Aisley Hawke: She is asexual and sex repulsed. Falls in love with Sebastian and they have a chaste marriage he supports and loves even when Prince because he is a good guy.
Charity Cadash: Bisexual. Also a trans woman who doesn’t talk about it much. Romances Josiephine.
To Be Kind
Caoimhe Tabris: Bisexual. Is into buff people though. Romances Alistair.
Ivy Hawke: Bisexual. Isn’t that focused on romance with everything. Romances Fenris.
Revas Lavellan: Pansexual. Has had casual relationships with all genders. Dabbled in gender non conforming and identity stuff. Not for her. Romances Solas.
Love Yourself
Riley Cousland: Straight. Has a lot of internal issues regarding beauty and self worth. Romances Zevran.
Ivy Hawke: Bisexual. In this world also has a lot of issues she’s working though. Romances Fenris still.
Harel Lavellan: Bisexual. I never really settled on a romance for her, she’s kind of always gravitated towards Josie though. So probably Josephine.

Minerva and Blackwall (I'd love to be a fly on the wall for watching Fenris and Seb tbh)???? Keir and Josie/Bull???? Op, you can't just say that and leave it there, I need to know the details (Nina is understandable, Isabela and Leliana are 👌)
i say minerva and blackwall not because i have invested a particularly huge amount of thought into minerva/blackwall out of nowhere but because every other dai love interest is simply ruled out. (amusingly, this is also why minerva originally romanced zevran in the first place—she simply would not go for any of the rest of them, so zevran it was.) cullen is out. josie is too nice so she’s out. solas is too condescending so he’s out. iron bull’s ahem interests would not be her thing at all so he’s out. dorian and cassandra don’t romance women so they’re out. baby sera was in the same orphanage as nine-year-old minerva which while i guess not technically bad or anything is the only way i’ve ever thought about their relationship and now romance feels weird. also i just don’t think the dynamic would be right at all. so she’s out. thus: minerva/blackwall!
i don’t know a whole lot about his romance but he has that whole deification thing going on and i’m not going to lie minerva could be into that. his mage rights opinions are good. i’m not sure of the full details of blackwall’s backstory and how it comes into dai but i could see it bringing up similar themes to minerva’s complicated past and relationship w guilt
minerva/fenris is so much because minerva is the daughter of freed tevinter slaves but she’s also an active blood mage with a fair ambitious streak so there’s like. there’s a LOT happening here. a bit of a tightrope walk of a dynamic but i can’t deny she would be into him and she could make him laugh. as for minerva/sebastian, again absolute insanity, and i’m not sure she would go for it because of the whole chantry thing, but if she DID do her flirt-just-to-see-what-happens thing and she’s intrigued just as much by flustering him as the idea of having the ear of a prince and then she takes a step too far and gets invested... rivalmance chaos. Would End Bad
keir/josie seems pretty out there on the face of it but honestly he’s very drawn to people who are kinder than him, who are more talkative than him, who are passionate abt what they do, who care a lot abt their family. i could see it. i think the uh beauty and the beast dichotomy of ambassador and reaver would be fun and totally bring out a bunch of the interesting questions abt violence vs non-violence that josie’s writing plays with. the iron bull was just the only other one i didn’t write off—i thought abt dorian briefly but ultimately i don’t think they’d get on—so there’s not a lot of thought behind that really... again i don’t really have a read on bull’s romance i’m just kind of leaving that door open

Are there any LIs you never romanced in the DA franchise? If so why?
Also does any of your OC has a unrequited crush on a character?
Oh there are plenty @queer-amann, like a shocking amount considering how many times I have played these games. I am adding a 3rd option to this because there are quite a few that I have just... failed.
Never romanced:
Origins~
Alistair- I couldn't really tell you why except that maybe it is because I had already seen the romance? My roommate, and best friend, played the games first while I watched her. She is a strong Alistair-mancer and so I don't need to see it again? If that makes sense. Overall, I think his romance is cute, but boring.
DA2~
Fenris- I like his character arc. I think it is really interesting. I am very pro-mage though, so we clash on opinions a lot.
Inquisition~
Sera- I have watched her romance on Youtube to see how it was. It was cute, but she annoys the shit out of me. I couldn't do it.
Blackwall- I can't get behind romancing someone who's entire identity is based on a lie. I also clash opinions with him.
Josie- Another one that is too fairytale. Much like Alistair, I find it boring. Not enough at stake. I like my people slightly insane.
Cullen- I have only played as a female one time and that was to play a Solas romance so I could see what other people were talking about. My roommate has romanced Cullen before. The entire thing is cute, but not for me. I probably would be more open to romancing him if the bisexual coding had been left in. I mean he hit on my Inquisitor? or maybe I misread his intentions, idk.
Failed Romances:
Solas- I got bored. Not gonna lie, I cannot stand Solas so that is probably why we didnt work out.
The Iron Bull- I was having issues getting him into the romance phase. Eventually I gave up and went after Dorian again before abandoning this playthrough.
Zevran- I honestly just wanted to sleep with him to see what he said. I didn't take it further than that.
Leliana- She got super clingy in Origins which skeeved me out. I backed away slowly on this one.
Isabela- I was romancing her, but then forgot to get her approval high enough and she left after Act 2. Whoops.
Sebastian- I hated playing as a female Hawke. The animations for her walk was way to feminine and it drove me insane.
(Edit: forgot a failed romance)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for unrequited crushes, the only one who comes to mind is Garrett. Garrett Hawke has a huge crush on Cullen and wants to destroy him. He wants him and Anders to let him "Know why mages are feared" if you catch my drift.
(Send me an ask to distract me!)

more bc i am unstoppable now
I Am Thinking About My DA Protagonists’ Taste In Romantic Partners both their “usual” type and why they’re drawn to their canon love interest (and the hypothetical ones from other games). i expect no one to give a shit abt this except me lsdfjd but im on a roll and its a good exercise or whatever. i’m sure i’ll use it eventually?????
once again. i know no one gives a fuck but if anyone DOES happen to want to torture themselves and read this pls know all my ocs are bi except zaniyah, who is a lesbian<3
sarenan:
general disclaimer that “in the circle love is just a game” etc etc etc so while she definitely is more inclined to romantic relationships, she only really had friends w benefits at most
she likes smart people! she likes fun people, she likes people who can get on board with her fucked up sense of humor. she’s witty and charming and loves to flirt just to flirt, and in the circle that wasn’t much of an issue lol. leliana is the first person she ever feels like...foot-in-mouth around, bc suddenly she likes and is attracted to someone and...that’s allowed? it’s all very foreign to her but she falls Real Hard, Real Fast
in a hypothetical da2 romance obviously isabela is extremely hot but also sarenan canonically has a foursome w her, leli, and zev so dLFKKDS it makes sense that bela’s the love interest of choice<3 (but also i think it would be like...friends-to-friends with benefits-to-lovers lol)
in a hypothetical dai romance once again josie is very hot and also so sweet and cute and delightful !!!!! idk if its just me but i see similarities bw origins leli and josie so again it just makes sense to me that josie is the LI for an inq romance :’)
(BUT for the most part. it is pretty hard for me to imagine sarenan w anyone but leli, bc they are the only couple i have that like. makes sense. lmfao)
maeve:
actually doesnt often have romantic relationships? she has ~flings~ and rarely catches feelings. she describes her type as “anyone sexy”
(her and isabela do in fact have a brief Thing but strictly no strings attached; this is bc i was very very adamant about romancing isabela when i played da2 and then anders fucking SNIPED me. so i incorporated it into canon i guess. lmao)
her attraction to anders is originally just “sexy tortured man” and then “sexy tortured man that gives free healthcare to poor people!!!!” and then - after it’s clear it won’t be a fwb situation - she realizes she has Actual feelings for him and is like well. its been a good run. guess i’ll die! until he reciprocates dflksdjf then they are kirkwall’s weirdest couple to everyone except themselves :’)
in a hypothetical dao romance her and zev would be classic fuckbuddies who accidentally start having a crush on each other, absolutely refuse to acknowledge it, then someone else in the friend group is like “oh my god PLEASE just kiss we are all going insane watching yall do this” <3
in a hypothetical dai romance im still torn bw sera and bull. maeve would just keep hitting on sera until sera did something about it; bull would be similar to zevran in the fuckbuddies-accidentally-caught-feelings dynamic
alani:
i feel like (depending on the size of the clan etc) alani was prob mostly involved w people she’d known almost all her life. she’s obviously attracted to other ppl who like to learn and stuff, but other than that it’s equal opportunity crushes ykwim. she doesn’t even Know she has a thing about people who are like. puzzles to be solved until solas lol
in a hypothetical dao romance she’d be drawn to alistair bc...who wouldnt be. hes adorable. they’re both warm friendly charming sunshines and i think it’d be natural for them to be drawn to one another. once she realizes he has Baggage she’s like oh. OH. i have to defend you against the world now
in a hypothetical da2 romance i thiiink it would be kinda similar to solas. like oh this bitch has a lot of emotional walls up, he’s got some real shit going on. I Like That. also mage rights, hes a sad sexy doctor, we love a revolutionary, etc. it makes sense imo
zaniyah:
similar to maeve i think she’s more of a fling person than a relationship person, but she has had a couple gfs. she’s not very comfy being super serious but she’s a good gf and is very devoted. generally speaking i think she just likes Hot Ladies but is esp drawn to quirky / weird ppl lol
in a hypothetical dao romance she’d like morrigan bc 1) she’s hot and 2) she’s standoffish lol. she’d take it upon herself to get morrigan to like her as like, a personal triumph, but then along the way realize she has a real crush on her and be like shit? fuck? (the same goes for morg. it would be an oh shit oh fuck moment on both ends)
in a hypothetical da2 romance i think her and merrill would be more like friends to lovers :’) zaniyahs immediately like “youre weird. i like you” also they bond bc dalish etc, and over time she starts liking her more and more. eventually zaniyah just cant take it anymore and kisses merrill, apologizes profusely, etc, and merrill’s like “oh. i thought we were dating?” sldkfjsLDKFJds i care them
(josie is kind of an outlier bc she’s so graceful, collected, knows what to do/say always, etc. i dont believe in love at first sight but if i did thats what zaniyah and josie would be<333)
ranae:
she doesnt like. have a type really. because she’s just been in love w her childhood best friend since forever and doesnt think of what she might like in other ppl bc well. he’s right there? she assumes they’ll be together forever, even if only platonically :(
when she meets morrigan she’s like oh i like women too apparently. cool?? when she meets alistair shes a little put off by the fact that hes a golden retriever, then clings to him bc Trauma, then VERY begrudgingly realizes she has a crush on him but feels like shes betraying tamlen
eventually she comes to terms w the fact that like. theres nothing she can do about tamlen unfortunately, and alistair is here and Loves Her and he’s been the only person to make her truly happy in a very long time. it takes a lot for her to think she deserves that, but she does, and the rest is history :’)
in a hypothetical da2 romance it makes perfect sense to me that she’d latch onto the other Elf Who Is Full Of Rage immediately. they are both very intense and it can put other people off sometimes but they dont really care! die mad about it, shem! etc
in a hypothetical dai romance she’d be drawn (platonically) to blackwall bc grey warden stuff, but subconsciously they both kind of feel like frauds, like they dont deserve happiness, etc; theyre both kinda brusque, at least at first, too. she just kinda sees him as a buddy til she watches him bonding w sera or with some kids or something and then shes like  😳 😳 😳 and then angry that shes like that lmao

Hey, about your dragon age characters, what main choices did you make? Or maybea u can share your world state? 'u' just curious
Oh, boy. I don't know how to share my world state. I'll make a summary here:
DAO:
- Female dalish warrior.
- Anora and Alistair as the monarchs.
- Loghain is Kieran's father
- Bhelen is Ozamar's king (not that I give a damn because everything is so cofusing I tried to go for the less worse)
- Sided with Branka and kept her golem madness going.
- Pretty much helped the templars, saved the mages from death. Helped the elves. Helped everyone 😂
- Saved Redcliff, of course ❤
- Everyone was my friend, all missions done and I romanced Leliana. No one is dead.
- Warden is alive thank you very much.
What else am I missing???
- Played all the DLC.
DA2:
- Warrior female Hawke, green and red by the 3rd act.
- Sided with the mages all the way.
- Helped all my beautiful and problematic friends.
- The Sabrae is alive, Merrill kept her ungodly mirror.
- Isabela wasn't handed to the Arishok and I kicked his ass by running in circles with my vicious dog called Bombom.
- Fenris free because he learned that ⭐ Frienship is Magic ⭐
- Anders is alive, but not forgiven
- I was friends with everyone, but Sebastian left anyways. I feel bad for him he is a good man and his voice... 😢
- Bethany is a circle mage.
- Played all the DLC and almost died at Chateau Haine. Didn't kiss or flirt with Tallis, Hawke is loyal to her two wives.
- Deep in my heart Hawke is married to both Isabela and Merrill. But technically speaking, Merrill is the one on the game data.
- No one is dead except the bad guys. And my focken family 😭
DAI: Be prepared, I have several Lady Inquisitors lol The main choices are all the same tho.
- Dalish female rougue with princess Josie, Dalish female mage with the most beautiful, perfect, hariest, strongest husband Blackwall. Another dalish mage with that clown Solas. (I played with other races but I have an elf problem ok?) All 3 exist in a multiverse lol Quisiverse.
- Sided with the mages (I love Calpernia as the enemy the best, tho. I love redeeming her, she deserves a good redemption).
- Everyone loves me and we are all besties 🌠❤⭐🌠❤
- Didn't kill anyone when judging criminals. There are worse things than death, such as Florianne being my personal jester hehe
- Cole took a dna test and he is 100% a spirit.
- Of course I gave Vivi the right heart, she is my bff.
- Sera killed the noble men. Eat The Rich.
- Iron Bull is a tal-vashoth.
- Dorian and his father are good.
- Celene and Briala together. Gaspard is d e a d 💩
- Loghain died, at the cost of my tears because I had a crush on him (judge me if you must). It was his time to go.
- The Warden were forgiven and helped the Inquisition.
- Solas' inquisitor drank from the well. The others didn't.
- Leliana is the Divine.
- Played all the DLC. Still thristy for Svarah Sun-Hair ✌😞
CONFUSING I KNOW just ask me anything if I left something pass. Remember: fuck the Chantry.

Well, shit.
So here’s this little thing I wrote when I finished DAO and DA2. I completely forgot about posting it because Feyrhycien took over my life lmao
.
.
I had never met the Hero of Ferelden.
I knew the stories, hell, I’d written about them more times than I will ever admit. The Warden, falling in love with a Crow sent to kill her. It was the kind of love story you’d find the Seeker reading quietly to herself when she thought none of us were looking.
But I didn’t know the Warden, not the way I knew Hawke.
The Champion of Kirkwall.
She would come to the Hanged Man for drinks and games of Wicked Grace, even if she lost most of the time. It was in those moments where the burden her family had placed on her seemed a little less heavy. She would laugh until she cried. Except sometimes, the crying didn’t stop. I know they were her family but they blamed her for everything. And nothing she did was ever enough. But Hawke never stopped trying, never stopped helping.
Hell, that’s how she met Fenris.
I hadn’t expected the prickly bastard to stick around once we’d cleaned out Danarius’s place, but Hawke had said they’d talked, and left it at that. He started tagging along, which wasn’t always too bad if we were choosing between Carver and Aveline.
He came with us to the Deep Roads when Carver joined the Templars. He remained in Hightown, fighting at Hawke’s side no matter where she went. He was there when Bartrand returned and I went to pay my big brother a visit… But you know that, Hawke’s story is the very tale Cassandra used to take me prisoner.
To put it plainly, the broody elf was always around, stealing glances at Hawke.
Everything changed after Hawke fought Hadriana. Their romance ended before it began. Hawke is my best friend, it was only natural for me to worry- but it was obvious the two were in love, they still fought side by side. He was there for her when her mother was killed. Fenris wore a red band around his wrist, the Amell crest- a romance in everything but name.
I’ll never forget the smile on her face after Fenris apologized for walking out on her. And when Meredith was defeated, Hawke and Fenris took off.
Naturally, I didn’t tell anyone where she went. Not even with that damn hole in the sky. And once I met Lavellan, I saw Hawke all over again. I knew I was done for; I was going to follow this girl to the damn Fade if I had to (be careful what you wish for).
I kept everything I knew about Hawke secret because I didn’t want any of this for her, but I didn’t want this for Lavellan, either. Here was this woman carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, and despite how she was treated by everyone, she wanted to help. Wanted to do anything she could to seal the Breach.
She took Ferelden by storm, sealing rifts and helping everyone; from farmers to nobles to the very people who had condemned her without knowing what had happened before she’d stepped out of that rift. Now, I won’t lie, I noticed how flustered she left Curly every time they spoke. I’m sure I’ll regret saying that later. But it was a surprise to see her warming up to Chuckles, asking him question after question about the Fade and his dreams, about elven history. We’d be at camp and she’d sit with him by the fire, talking about the mark. About anything.
But nothing came of it. She went to Val Royeaux. She traveled all over Thedas, coming back with new allies every time. The Iron Bull. The Grey Warden Blackwall. Sera and Vivienne. She took the time to talk to everyone, getting to know us all with every passing day.
And then we met Dorian.
Lavellan asked Solas and I to go with her to Redcliffe, knowing full well it was a trap. Was I really the only one who saw how worried Curly was?
With Leliana’s knowledge of the castle, we three walked right into the trap. It went to shit so fast, I still can’t put to words what it was like to see them just disappear. For Solas and I, she and Dorian had been gone for a few moments. Not even Alexius had moved from where he stood, unsure of what the hell had just happened.
When they came back… something had changed in her. She still made time for us, she still fought with everything she had. But the future she had fought through to come back had cast a shadow on her. I saw it when we sat down by the fire. She would ask about Kirkwall. About Hawke. I told her about Aveline and Isabela, Carver and Anders. Daisy and Curly. That made her laugh, trying to imagine what Cullen had looked like back then. She called him over one night to look at him by the fire and when she smiled, it almost looked like she was herself again.
But I saw the way she looked at Solas when she thought no one was looking. They didn’t talk as much as they used to. ‘I don’t have anything else to ask,’ she said when I’d teased her about it. Dorian managed to make her smile, at least- so did Bull and his Chargers. I didn’t dare to question when she’d just sit in silence by Leliana’s tent, staring at nothing for a time. One look from the Nightingale had everyone walking the other way.
The night she sealed the Breach, I saw the way she and Solas looked at one another before it happened. The worry on his face before she was standing tall, before the cheers erupted in the temple. But at Haven? Nothing. Not a glance. Not a word.
Even when Cullen was sending her out to face Corypheus as he led us out of Haven, she said no good byes. But when that dragon attacked again, she shouted for us to run. I saw the way Solas retreated into himself as we walked farther and farther from her, not knowing if she’d made it.
He showed nothing when she was carried to camp, he said nothing when everyone was fighting about where to go. What to do. But I saw them walk off together. I saw her smile when she came back alone.
And then we found Skyhold.
Lavellan was made Inquisitor and even with all her new responsibility, she made time for all of us. I want to say I saw her as much as Solas did, seeing as she walked by me every time she went to “walk around the library”. But they were talking again.
As she and Solas got closer, she strengthened her friendships with the rest of us. Facing Dorian’s father, hunting down a wyvern for Vivienne. I was surprised she didn’t hit Gatt in the face for the way he talked to Bull, especially after he and Lavellan chose the Chargers over the Qunari alliance. She was hung over for a few days after that, staying up late at night with Bull, drinking with his boys. Lavellan helped Curly through some heavy shit, and he finally seemed to relax around her. He still blushed, though.
There were times Solas did not journey with her, and I would see the way he’d pace around that room a little more than usual. She had gone all the way to the Hissing Wastes without us, taking Dorian and Bull with her. Blackwall had told her not to play matchmaker, but Lavellan had helped him pick out flowers for Josie. He tagged along and said nothing more about it.
They read books together in the garden, sometimes she would sit at the little table and listen to him theorize about elven magic and whatever other fancy shit he talked about that brought the hearts out in her eyes. She would listen to Solas and Bull playing their games while we trekked through the Emerald Graves. She laughed at all my stupid jokes and shared books with Cassandra at camp, not at all afraid to talk about them with all of us there.
Vivienne had called us all into Lavellan’s chambers for us to see the gown she would wear to the Winter Palace. That was probably the first time I ever saw Chuckles a little flustered. Naturally, Josie forced us all into matching outfits that none of us liked, but Lavellan made a joke about it and Solas laughed. Truly laughed.
When Lavellan met Hawke, I saw history repeating itself. And I didn’t feel so bad about pissing the Seeker off. Hawke sent Fenris away to keep him safe. I saw those same shadows haunting Lavellan and I feared of what she would lose saving the world, when Hawke had lost so much by saving Kirkwall.
We followed her through the Fade. The Deep Roads. We hunted dragons and discovered temples that discredited the Chantry and had Solas and Lavellan talking long into the night. I knew it was a fool’s hope to see a happy ending, but every victory, no matter how fictitious left me wondering if maybe she would be the hero who walked away smiling.
But that was a fool’s hope.
After we defeated Corypheus, Solas disappeared. Leliana couldn’t find him, and Lavellan… Well, she had Thedas to worry about. Nobles and stupid political disputes. After all she had done, all she had lost- these bastards had the nerve to demand more of her. I knew she cried for him, I knew she stood out on that balcony, looking out as if she’d see him coming back home. But time passed, and there was no sign of him. The world really didn’t need an Inquisition anymore, but we didn’t know what to do yet. Lavellan walked through the room as if he had never occupied that space. She still flirted with Dorian, but that was safe. Nothing would come from that. He was her best friend and she was happy to see him in love with Bull. I was only allowed to ask about Solas if she could ask about Bianca. She never said I couldn’t tease her about Curly.
Before I went back to Kirkwall, we played a game of Wicked Grace. She won the game and instead of gloating, she just started to cry. Everyone was leaving and she’d be here, alone. I told her to sleep in Curly’s room, it was so small she might fall over in her sleep. She kicked my foot under the table for that, but it got her smiling.
I knew that she would have Josie and Cullen, but I understood. Kirkwall was lonely when Hawke was gone. I don’t know why, but I told her about Fenris and Hawke. About how he had left, how he had come back. They were together again after all this time, despite everything. I wasn’t sure if that was enough, but when we said goodbye, she thanked me for the story.
Two years passed and we were all together again. Lavellan and Curly arrived with Josie, the ease in which they stood beside one another made me hope that maybe she’d found something there, at least a friend. She joked about their clothes, about his hair and how long he’d taken to get ready in the morning. Josie asked them both to promise her they’d refrain from commenting on the Clerics and nobles in attendance. They promised, but I knew Lavellan had her fingers crossed behind her back. They followed Josie inside, the two of them whispering to one another and trying not to laugh.
The fate of the Inquisition was to be decided, and we’d face it together. But of course, shit can never be easy. Not for her.
A Qunari threat. Bodies piling up. And the Eluvian.
I had never seen Lavellan as angry as she was before she went into the Crossroads. But then, I’d never seen Curly look so worried. Everyone was a little more than surprised when he hugged her goodbye.
Once more, I followed Lavellan into the unknown with Dorian and Bull at our side. The mark started to react, worse than before. In agony she fought Qunari and demons until at last… Solas returned.
But only she went after him, not believing that he had betrayed her. Betrayed us all.
Waiting for her to come back felt like an eternity, Dorian wanted to walk through to find her but Bull wouldn’t hear it. But she came back to us, stepping out of that Eluvian, clutching her left arm- what was left of it. He’d had the nerve to say he loved her still. But she didn’t cry, she asked Dorian to patch her up. Once we made it back to the Winter Palace, she let Vivienne adjust her sleeve.
Shadows no longer haunted her, they’d become a part of her. And she commanded them. I saw it in the way she argued with the clerics, with the nobles, with everyone who had demanded everything of her. The Inquisitor, our Herald of Andraste- she had enough.
She started by disbanding the Inquisition.
Those of us in the Inquisition left Skyhold, leaving room for those who had no where to go. A safe haven. That was all Lavellan requested for before she disappeared without a trace. Word had it that Curly was living in some cabin in the Hinterlands, but I looked into it. There was a cabin, but no sign of Curly. Some Inquisition soldier named Jim was living there, and he said he hadn’t seen the Commander since he was riding out of Skyhold by himself- after Lavellan left.
Months later, I was having dinner with Fenris and Hawke. Daisy was there. So was Isabela. Carver showed up with flowers for his sister and for Daisy. Aveline and Isabela’s insults to one another were said with smiles. We didn’t talk about Anders.
Right when we were moving on to dessert, a knock came onto the door. Everything seemed to pause until I was handed a note in a familiar hand. I had to smile, I should’ve known.
I now sit by a fire, Leliana is looking at a map. I don’t know how the hell Cassandra is here, but she is, and she’s just as pissed as she was the day she met me. Dorian and Bull “went to bed” and Sera is messing with a jar of bees. Cole is hiding somewhere and Warden Blackwall brought Josie flowers.
I see her, standing by Curly, her arms crossed as she listens to Vivienne wax poetic about Orlais’ latest fashions. And yeah, you heard me right. Arms.
With her mind on the Blade of Tidarion and all the notes she took after meeting Fenris once in passing, Dagna created an arm band made of silverite and lyrium. The band is always visible, but the ghastly blue arm appears whenever Lavellan wills it. A lyrium ghost arm is what Dagna calls it- I didn’t have to ask what inspired the name; I saw The Tale of the Champion amidst her many books on lyrium and magic.
Lavellan smiles when Curly brushes his fingers against the back of her hand, because she can feel it this time. Dagna is sitting on the ground, observing Lavellan and how she takes Curly by the hand, jotting down her findings.
I notice everyone is observing them. Cassandra has hearts in her eyes and Leliana is actually smiling. There is hope on Blackwall and Josie’s faces. Sera makes kissy sounds which leave Curly blushing but Lavellan smiles, leaning closer to him.
I told her once how Fenris had come back for Hawke. How they’d run off together when the world didn’t need them. Solas isn’t coming back for her. She knew it before any of us told her. But she came back for us, for Cullen. She ran off with him when the world believed it had no need of her.
We’re going to find Solas. We’re going to stop him from tearing down the Veil.
After that? I’ll be writing about Commander Cullen Rutherford and how he won the heart of the Herald of Andraste.
Cassandra is going to read the shit out of this one.

Daelyn Trevelyan
Biography part 2
Part 1 can be found here.
⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
Escape...
Tumblr media
Less than a year into her training in Ostwick, Daelyn found a way to leave. And when she left, she sought the one place she thought she'd find refuge: home.
But all she was met with was shock, anger, and an attempt at being arrested and shipped back to the tower.
So, she ran.
She continued to run as far as her legs could carry her; dodging templars and nobility like they were the plague.
And then she found Rivain. A country of community values and unorthodox beliefs. She may have been an outsider, but she was a mage, a woman, and she looked like them.
A Welcome...
Tumblr media
A Rivaini family took Daelyn in and taught her the ways of a Seer. She fit in, she had a family, she had friends and a purpose. The family was honorable and Daelyn was taken care of.
And then they died. They were old and age caught up with them by the time Daelyn turned eighteen. She, once again, found herself on her own.
And then she met a wild, alluring, exciting pirate, who would change her world.
Isabela...
Tumblr media
Enchanted by Daelyn's spirit, her fight for survival, and her ability to handle herself, Isabela soon took her under her wing and onto her ship.
For eight years, she and Isabela took to the high seas. She soon became ruthless, dangerous, and fierce.
Isabela was Daelyn's first love, her first glimpse of true freedom, and her first experience with heartbreak.
When things went south between the two of them, they parted ways. Isabela didn't believe in love. She didn't believe in settling down. She made a mistake that drove a metaphorical dagger through Daelyn's heart.
Alone...?
Tumblr media
Finding herself a wandering spirit, she stumbled (negotiated) her way into a party in Antiva, just for the hell of it. It was there that she witnessed a scuffle between two bards.
One happened to intrigue her enough for her to follow. She observed the dark haired beauty as the emotions of what had just taken place washed over her.
A bard with a heart? A bard who showed regret for taking the life of another?
A proffered drink, some lighthearted conversation, and the rest was history. Josephine Montilyet and Daelyn—Just Daelyn, as she's become known as—became fast friends.
Years Gone By...
Tumblr media
Bouncing between Antiva and Rivain, Daelyn kept on the move and kept busy. She joined up with a mercenary group of pirates for several years. She took part in more unsavory things and hid what she was for the most part—learning how to use daggers and portraying herself as a rogue for much of her time.
Josephine was her only friend for much of those years. Whenever she was in Antiva, she would pop in randomly—usually at her windowsill or popping out of her closet, just to keep Josie on her toes.
The Conclave...
Tumblr media
Word of Divine Justinia's attempts to broker peace between mages and templars spread far and wide. There weren't many who hadn't heard of her ideas and felt the sting of the mage-Templar wars.
Daelyn and her group of mercenaries were tasked with spying on the Conclave. It was a job to gain intel. Nothing more.
Her older brother was sent as a Trevelyan representative. She watched him and all the others die. Her group managed to escape with their lives, while she was not so lucky.
The Inquisition...
Tumblr media
The events of the game took place. Daelyn was a banished disgrace to the Trevelyan name, Herald of Andraste, and eventually the (reluctant) Inquisitor.
Her family attempted to reclaim their daughter; offering support, praise, and "love" to their long lost daughter, but Daelyn refused their help. She refused a lot of nobility help.
She felt herself turning into something she didn't quite recognize. The power of the fade ate away at her. It began to feel as though something had taken up residence in her soul, coiling inside her, growing and attempting to take hold of her subconscious.
If it wasn't for one person…she may have let it consume her.
Cullen...
Tumblr media
Trust was never an easy thing for Daelyn. But Cullen changed that. She began to feel unlike anything she'd ever felt before. Happiness. True happiness. And it only arose when he was around.
He opened her heart and eyes to the possibility of joy and love. This then led to her heart opening to those around her, and soon the ones she was forced to work with became those she wanted to be around. They became her family.
Josie, the old friend and closest confidant.
Leliana, the mysterious, brilliant hopeful she could kick back with.
Cass, the mother figure of the group she loved razzing.
Varric, the new and entertaining friend who kept her grounded.
Dorian, the BFF who entertained her inherent flirtatious nature (that she didn't know she had).
Bull, drinking buddy and the guy who let her blow off steam whenever she needed to.
Sera, the one who kept *her* on her toes and ALWAYS laughing.
Blackwall, the rock she needed when life went chaotic.
Cole, the little brother she never had and always wants to protect.
Vivienne, the one she could argue with and never agreed with in anything, yet felt mutual respect and understanding for one another.
Solas…the friend, fellow fade enthusiast, who broke her heart.
And Cullen. Cullen, mother effing Rutherford. The one who snuck in and stole her heart right out from under her. The one who saw her as more than her abilities. The one who made her question every belief she'd formulated about humankind. Her heart. Her soul mate. Her love.
⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
The events of the upcoming fanfic take place after defeating Corypheus and after Solas's great departure.

Fictober Day 4: Freeze, feat Josephine and Asena
MODERN POOL PARTY AU! I NEVER WRITE AUS! HOW WEIRD IS THIS?! It might become a two-parter, Idk. Warnings? Mentions of alcohol, kind of OOC Leliana. Also, surprise appearances from the Hawke and Inquisitor of this timeline (Nev and Gemma. (Gemma is the Inq, Asena is just her friend for my double-Inquisitor-au timeline.))
UPDATE: This is now a mafia au.
Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4   AO3
Author note: “Hermosa” means beautiful. So, she’s calling Josephine beautiful.
“Who did you say lived here?” Josephine raised her eyebrow at Leliana.
Leliana just waved her hand as they wove their way through the convoluted apartment complex. “A friend of Cassandra’s.”
Cullen snorted from behind them. “It’s not like you to hold back on gossip, Leliana.”
Leliana huffed. “I don’t really know. All Cassandra said was there would be a party.”
Josephine and Cullen shared an incredulous look, but they didn’t have time to press for more information because they rounded a corner and music drifted over to them. “Oh good, you made it!” Cassandra waved to them from among the group of people loitering around the pool. A bunch of paper lantern lights were rustling in the warm summer breeze, casting a warm glow over the cool light from the pool. There were about two dozen people in total, including many of Cassandra’s friends, just about everybody wearing either bathing suits or summer clothes. Josephine recognize most of them—The Iron Bull was working over the grill while Dorian looked on adoringly; a red-haired and blue-tattooed Dwarven woman was hanging off the Warden Blackwall’s arm sitting poolside and chatting animatedly with Sera and her girlfriend Dagna who were in the pool; over in the corner, Varric was sitting amidst a group of people, likely telling them one of his ridiculous stories with his arm slung over Cole’s (one of the only fully dressed people present) shoulder. Cassandra walked over the gate and grinned at them, her hand going to rest on her sarong-ed hip. “Did you find it alright?”
Leliana grinned and hugged her. “Of course.”
Josephine scanned the crowd. “It looks like a good turnout.”
Cassandra nodded, clasping Cullen’s hand in a firm shake. “Yes. I hadn’t realized Asena had invited so many people, but everyone seems to be having a good time.”
“Who is this Asena? I’ve yet to meet her,” Josephine asked, curiosity filling her voice.
“Oh, you’ll love her.” Cassandra gave her a knowing smirk before it turned into a grin as she looked past them. “In fact, here she comes now!”
“Sorry, there was a huge line at the store and—Oh!” The trio turned to meet their hostess, and Josephine’s breath caught in her throat. “Cassandra, are these the friends you were talking about?”
“Yes, indeed. Guys, allow me to introduce Asena Adaar.”
The Qunari that stood before them was, as most Qunari are, incredibly tall. She was standing with her hip cocked, a large bag of charcoal balanced on it, an… an entire half-barrel keg set at her feet. Josephine raised an eyebrow at that. How in the world did she carry that all in one go? Her hips were wide in comparison to the rest of her body, a pair of light pink harem pants hanging quite low on those hips, giving her a good view of sturdy hip bones. Her skin was light for a Qunari, similar in shade to The Iron Bull’s, but smoother, pulled tight over strong, prominent muscles. She wore no shirt, only a black, strapless bikini top that made Josephine swallow hard.
Asena must’ve noticed Josephine checking her out because she smirked, an eyebrow cocked at her, and Maker’s breath she was pretty. She had a strong, slightly crooked nose that sat between proud, lightly freckled cheekbones. Her lips were thick and painted a cool purple that helped her shockingly bright, teal eyes stand out. Her horns were smaller than the Bull’s, curved delicately up and behind her forehead, shined smooth halfway to the tips, and between them rained a mess of beautifully curled black locks.
“Asena, may I present—”
“Nono, let me guess.” She cut Cassandra off with a cocky smile. “Obviously this is Cullen Rutherford.” They shook hands, Cullen replying with some sort of greeting that Josephine couldn’t hear. “And Leliana Nightingale,” another handshake, then she turned to Josephine. “And this,” she said, practically purring, “must be the lovely Josephine Montilyet.” As Josephine put her hand in hers, she blushed when Asena leaned down, pressing a warm kiss to the back of her knuckles. Asena smirked up at her and whispered a cool and fluent, “Encantada, hermosa Josefina,” against her skin.
“Hey, Boss, did you get the charcoal or what?”
Asena straightened up (so tall) at The Bull’s interruption and rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, hold your horns.” She smiled at the four of them, stopping her gaze on Josephine. “Please, excuse me.”
“Do you need any help with that?” Cullen gestured towards the keg sitting at Asena’s feet.
The Qunari grinned and shook her head. “No thanks. I’ve got it.” In one fluid movement, she hefted the charcoal up on her shoulder and raised the keg to rest on her other hip as if it weighed nothing at all. Josephine couldn’t help but stare at her muscles as she squeezed past them and meandered over to the other Qunari who was waiting impatiently by the grill.
When she turned back to her friends, Leliana and Cullen were giving her deviously sly grins. “I… What?” She could feel the blush rising among her cheeks. They chuckled and moved past her to join the party, Cassandra following close by. “I—guys! Wait!”
As promised, the party was a blast. Within an hour, more people had joined, including Bull’s entire crew and a few other people Asena seemed to know, including a white-haired blind woman who was nearly as buff as Asena and who was apparently the blind woman’s girlfriend, a slender, tan-skinned woman with a lip piercing and a heavy Rivaini accent. Conversation and laughter flowed from every direction, backed by a constant flow of pleasant music. Though Josephine is a natural conversationalist, she didn’t stray far from Leliana’s side. Leliana’s offered safety proffered Josephine the opportunity to watch their hostess flit about from person to person. Everyone was greeted in the familiar, ranging from a warm handshake to an almost painful-looking hug, but Josephine noticed hers was the only hand that Asena kissed. Indeed, aside from a sisterly smooch to Blackwall’s and his girlfriend’s cheeks, Asena’s lips touched nobody else. Though she didn’t know why, this revelation filled Josephine with a deep sense of giddiness, as though butterflies had taken flight along her skin.
“My word. Is that Leliana?”
Josephine raised a brow as the Rivaini woman snaked her way through the throng of people, her girlfriend in tow, and came to a firm stop in front of the both of them. She looked over at Leliana who was regarding the woman for a long moment before she gasped. “Isabela?”
The woman—Isabela—beamed brilliantly at them and swooped in to hug Leliana. “I knew that was you!”
Leliana blushed. “I had heard you and Hawke were together, but I guess I didn’t realize. You’ve certainly changed, Bela.” Josephine nudged Leliana and gave her a Look. “Oh, Josie, this is Isabela and Genevieve, friends of mine from ages ago.”
“Nev,” supplied Nev with an outstretched hand which Josephine took.
Isabela pulled Genevieve’s hip into hers and grinned cheekily. “Yes, we know Leliana quite well. Perhaps we could know you, too…?”
“Bela, Nev, you’re not harassing my guests, are you? Not everyone is interested in sharing your bed.”
Josephine blushed furiously at Asena’s entrance, even more so at the fact that Asena stood almost touching her, her arm stretched behind her to balance her weight against the railing. Nev chuckled while Isabela tsked. “Well one can never know until one tries, eh?”
Nev pushed gently at Isabela’s shoulder, turning to leave. “C’mon, I heard Cullen prattling on around here somewhere. I wanna annoy him.”
Leliana’s studious gaze flicked from Josephine to Asena two or three times before she gave a flashy smile. “I’ll help you look for him,” she called to the other two women.
Josephine’s eyes widened and she opened her mouth to protest, but Leliana was gone as quickly as Asena had appeared, chasing after her friends. Asena sucked her teeth and shook her head after her friends. “That lot is trouble.” Turning to look down at Josephine, she put on a brilliant smile. “Are you enjoying yourself, Lady Montilyet?”
Josephine self-consciously tucked her hair behind her ear and nodded. “Yes, quite. This is quite the party.”
Asena smirked, her eyes scanning across Josephine’s face. “I’m afraid I can’t take all the credit. Bull’s boys are quite the lively bunch.”
Maker, is she getting closer? Josephine cleared her throat and took a sip of her drink. “You, uh… You seem to know all these people.”
Chuckling, Asena straightened back up and looked out at the crowd. “Mm, I do for the most part. Anyone I didn’t know before tonight were either guests of Cassandra or Gemma.”
“Gemma?”
“My roommate.” She pointed out the tattooed woman just in time for Josephine to watch as Blackwall was tackled into the pool. Laughing, she watched the two of them come back up for air, and Gemma squealed as Blackwall pulled her in for a vengeful kiss. “She’s pretty cute.”
Josephine cocked her head, looking back and forth from the Dwarf to the Qunari. “How did you two meet?”
For just the briefest of moments, a shadow flicked over Asena’s face, but she quickly hid it with a cool smile. “We go way back.”
Nodding, Josephine turned her attention back to the crowd. “I understand.”
The music shifted to a new song, something in Qunlat that Josephine couldn’t understand, but it had a good beat. Asena spun to stand in front of Josephine and bowed dramatically, her hand outstretched. “May I have this dance, Lady Montilyet?”
At her dashing grin, Josephine blushed and slipped her hand into Asena’s. “You may.”
Asena grinned and swept her out towards the area that had been unofficially designated as a dance floor.
The rest of the night passed in a blur. Asena and Josephine danced for what felt like minutes but must have been well over an hour by the time they sat down, breathless and giddy. From there, they talked for ages, and wine and beer flowed between them until they were both giggly and stumbling about the place. People came to talk to the both of them, faces blurring one into another as the drinks flow.
Suddenly, it was daylight. Josephine’s head pounded in protestation of her poor decisions last night, and she groaned. “Oh, Maker,” she grumbled.
“Buenas dias, hermosa Josefina.”
She… She knew that voice. But from where? She couldn’t… Prying her eyes open, she looked around, struggling to focus. “W… Where?”
A face came into view, dazzlingly beautiful and smiling warmly, a cascade of curls falling off a light blue shoulder. “My apartment.” A glass of water was sat on a table near Josephine’s face.
Blinking, Josephine tried to focus on the face, on the strong nose and the proud lips and the freckles and the eyes—“Asena?”
Asena chuckled and nodded, disappearing from view. “Eggs?”
“I…”
At her roaring stomach, Asena chuckled again. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
Josephine pulled herself to sit up, assessing the damage. A hoodie some five sizes too big with a wide-cut collar had been placed on her, but underneath her clothes were still on and in-tact, though her sandals had been carefully sat on the floor. She had been sleeping on a couch in a well-decorated apartment, not far from a sliding glass door that lead out near the pool. “I… slept over?”
“Yeah. Cullen did, too. He’s in on Gemma’s couch, through that door over there. Leliana left with Nev and Isabela.” Asena came over to sit in a chair across from her, setting a plate of eggs down in front of her.
“And the uh… hoodie?” She cast a glance up at her host and took a sip of the water.
Asena smiled gently, leaning back in her chair. “I didn’t want you to freeze.”
Josephine blushed and ducked her head to take another drink. “Mm. Thank you. That was very thoughtful.”
Asena waved her hand. “It looks better on you anyways.”
Josephine blushed and… Was that a smirk? Boldness took her, then, and with a smirk of her own, Josephine settled back into the couch and tucked her legs up underneath her. “I shall have to keep it, then.”
Asena’s smirk grew into a full-blown toothy grin. She adjusted herself so that her arm hung off the back of the chair and her impossibly long legs stretched out in front of her. “It would be a great disappointment if you didn’t, Lady Montilyet.”
Josephine giggled and started eating. They sat in companionable silence for a few minutes until a phone began ringing. Asena cursed in Qunlat and cast her an apologetic glance, pulling out her phone. Josephine waved her off, and Asena disappeared into a different room to answer it. Josephine finished her eggs and water then took them to the sink to clean them, humming softly. The hoodie hung down to her knees, and the widened collar encouraged it to hang off her shoulder demurely. ‘I didn’t want you to freeze.’ She blushed anew and grinned to herself.
As she washed the dish, the other door off to her right opened and Blackwall stumbled out, wearing naught but a pair of pajama pants. Upon seeing her, he froze and blushed deeply. “I… er… Lady Montilyet. Fancy meeting you here.”
She quirked a brow at him. “Indeed.”
He cleared his throat. “You, uh, slept over then?”
“Indeed.”
Nodding, he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “F-fancy that.” Moving quickly, he scooted over the cupboard and snagged a pack of Poptarts. “Well, be seeing you,” he stammered before scurrying back to the room.
Josephine chuckled and shook her head. His crush on her never ceased to entertain, even if he was a taken man now. Just as she finished the dishes, Asena’s door opened, and she walked out, wearing a breathtaking suit, fresh makeup, and a sullen expression. “Hermosa Josefina, I must profusely apologize. I have business to attend to. You’re welcome to stay here, or I could take you home if you needed?” She looked wretched about it, and that made Josephine’s heart swell.
“Oh, I wouldn’t want to impose. I can call a taxi.”
Asena frowned. “Nonsense. It would be my pleasure.”
She considered it a moment, regarding her carefully. With a nod, she smiled gently. “Very well then.”
She moved to take the hoodie off, but she was stopped by a gently hand on her arm. Looking up into Asena’s smiling face, she blushed. “I said you could keep it,” she purred, her eyes taking in the hang of the garment.
Josephine’s blush deepened, and she nodded. “A-Alright.”
Asena practically beamed and gestured towards the door. They paused so Josephine could put her sandals back on, and then they left. Asena’s car was strangely nice for a college student, and a convertible to boot. Probably for the horns, Josephine thought. She drove with a careful recklessness, obeying speed limits and the likes but taking turns a little too fast, and in a way it was thrilling. Once they arrived at Josephine’s house, Asena hopped out and rushed quickly around to open the door for her, smiling warmly at her. She escorted Josephine to the door and paused just outside it, looking as though she wanted to say something but couldn’t. Josephine tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled. “Thank you for a lovely evening,” she whispered.
Asena regarded her carefully, eyes scanning hers, taking in her expression. She nodded slightly and reached out to brush her hand along Josephine’s arm, linking their pinkies together when she reached her hand. “I… had a good time. I’d like… I’d like to see you again, if that’s alright.”
Josephine’s stomach burst into butterflies and her heart pounded in her ears for something other than her hangover. Nodding earnestly, she stepped closer, a broad grin stretched across her face. “I would very much like that.”
Asena grinned toothily. “Brilliant.” She pulled Josephine’s hand to her lips as she had when they met and pressed another warm kiss to her knuckles. “Until later, hermosa Josefina.”
Josephine watched her practically skip back to her car. They shared another grin and waved to one another before Asena hopped into her car and took off. With a dopy smile and lightness to her step that defied the heaviness of her hangover, Josephine backed into the house and sighed dreamily. Once she turned around, she blushed to see Leliana standing against the railing in her underwear, a bowl of cereal in her hands. She regarded Josephine carefully then pointed her spoon at her. “Where’d you get the hoodie?”
Clearing her throat, Josephine tilted her chin up. “Asena didn’t want me to freeze.”
At Leliana’s devious grin, Josephine rolled her eyes and scooted past her to retreat to her room. It wasn’t until she turned to shut the door that she noticed the Rivaini woman and the white haired woman sprawled across the couch, very nude, and she scoffed. “I thought we said no more orgies in the living room, Leliana!”
Leliana’s laughter drifted through the wood of the door as Josephine shut it, and she rolled her eyes. The memory of Asena’s lips upon her hand was too sweet, too lovely in her mind for her to work up any real anger, and she collapsed in a heap into her bed, sighing contentedly. When she opened her phone, she was surprised to see a message from an unknown number, and when she opened it she grinned.
I had a lovely night with you, hermosa Josefina. -Asena.
“Oh, Maker. This woman will be the death of me,” she giggled.

Dragon Age Protagonists: A Personality Profile
+ Their Love Interests
Gareth Cousland: Lawful good, a little too idealistic. Still basically a kid (at 19) when Origins starts. Soft-spoken, thoughtful and (even by RPG standards) can't stop helping people. Occasionally surprises people with stealthy little one-liners when he's annoyed. Best buds with Alistair, one functioning brain cell between them
Kind of fell ass-backwards into a love triangle with Morrigan and Leliana, without even meaning to attract either one, but ultimately ends up with the equally idealistic Leliana. Kind of a "birds of a feather" thing. They both get more jaded as the years go by, but they keep each other honest - They're both their best selves together.
Anlon Hawke: A total sweetheart wrapped up in about six hundred layers of biting sarcasm, anger, and mommy issues. Sterling Archer in a fantasy world. Bethany is the single most important person in the entire world to him and like 70% of his decisions in the first act were explicitly about protecting her. Basically ready to fight every and any templar in Kirkwall at all times. Wonderful bromance with Varric. His character development is about opening himself up emotionally to his found family and drawing strength from that.
He and Isabela are basically the definition of "whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." They're both wild, messy, put up walls to protect themselves, and struggle a lot to just say what they feel. But Anlon gradually finding that courage to be honest with her about his feelings helps give her the courage to open herself up as well. Eventually. They end up traveling the world together.
Drystan Trevelyan: The black sheep in his family, reckless and scrappy to a fault. Strong sense of personal integrity. Never really felt truly at home anywhere until the Inquisition. Pragmatic when he's got some distance from a situation and time to think things through, but infamously prone to letting his anger get the best of him in high pressure situations. Basically Cassandra's surrogate little brother. Regular drinking buddies with Bull. Gets along surprisingly well with Vivienne, despite fundamentally disagreeing with her on nearly everything. Best buds with Dorian.
Him and Josie seem like an odd pairing on paper (he's a chaotic stupid walking PR nightmare who loves a good fight and hates politics, she's a super type A pacifist diplomat), but somehow it just works. They compliment each other in so many different ways. They listen to and deeply love and respect each other. Josie can talk to him about anything, he makes her laugh and forget about work for a while. Being with Josie makes Drystan feel like he's properly home for the first time in his life, and her family accepts him like his own never really did.
Non-Canon Inquisitors
Marewyn Lavellan: Closest one to Lawful Good. Soft-spoken. A bit overly polite and formal at first, especially dealing with humans, but kind of a dork once she gets comfortable enough to loosen up. Giant bookworm, constantly in the library during her down time. Smart as fuck. Develops a mentor/mentee relationship with Solas, and ends up best buds with Cassandra.
She initially had a crush on Bull, while Blackwall had unrequited feelings for her, but eventually ends up with Cullen - who she's probably got the most in common with of anyone in the Inquisition.
Vincente Ayere: Chaotic neutral mercenary who fell ass backwards into this whole thing. A little bit of a flirt, a little bit sassy, very suave. Gets along like a house on fire with Sera and Bull in particular. Surprisingly devout Andrastan, nearly sided with the Templars on principle but couldn't hang the mages out to dry. Genuinely doesn't hold grudges. Ever. Hasn't met an enemy yet that he couldn't make into an asset for the Inquisition.
Cassandra is a stabilizing influence on Vincente. They'll always be two people with very divergent world-views, but their relationship is living proof that stability doesn't inherently have to be boring. They'll probably spend the rest of their lives happily fighting the good fight, side by side.

Note
Ok, now do Leliana, Merrill, Iron Bull, and Blackwall. I love your opinions.
I have lots of opinions and some of them are even good ones so I appreciate the love for them lol
I already did Blackwall here.
The Iron Bull
How I feel about this character
Look, when I discovered I could romance The Iron Bull, 6-year-old me found her prince charming dreams come true. Why? Tim Curry as Darkness in Legend. My tastes have been odd forever. Pretty boys are exactly that and usually boring. And he's disabled, yet tall and strong. He finds himself a family? Also BDSM but that is probably more info than anyone has ever wanted from me. There is just so much? He is a big character, not even because of his size but because he takes up metaphysical space and does not apologize for it. And he's a spy! You would expect all spies in the Qun to be like Tallis and instead you have this motherfucker that could bench press a wagon and the horses. Also, his love of dragons mirrors my own. Spiritual bonding.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Dorian and tiny Cadash inquisitors because I am easily made happy. So much tall and small.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Sera. Mayhem.lace Harding. Viv, I love their dynamic. She mother hens this giant and he's just? So down for it? He's cool with being adopted.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I love him as is. Folks who say he's abusive I will meet in the pit. And I will win. Dealt with that in real life, get your purity brownie points elsewhere. Far the fuck away from me. Triggering? Sure. But that's a personal issue you need to work through, not take it on people who are fine with it.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
More of life after the qun. I want him to grow past that. There is just so much shit packed into that way of life and I want him to unpack it. Show your emotions! Feel them! With less sticks! Or more sticks bc honestly that makes sense.
And maybe make his relationship with Dorian without those sketchy bits. Like why the fuck were those even there. why.
Leliana
How I feel about this character
It took a long time for Leliana to grow on me. That whole chosen by god thing just grates. But it makes sense storywise! So I'm okay with it really. Hardened Leliana in DAI? Where is the sweet girl who sang around a campfire? Like I get it, she was in the game and the left hand but they idk. It really bothered me to see her so cynical and harsh. People change sure. But I don't like how it worked with her. Now her feelings of failure in regards to divine justinia? Yes, good. Also her becoming divine and basically razing it to the ground? She is probably the truest follower of the chant since andraste. Her reaction to morrigan being in orlais was...fucky. why make them enemies. Where is the setup for this. Wtf. I also dig that she's a redhead and an archer. I am shallow okay. But we do not see a lot of the fun Leliana in dai and I think thats a disservice.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Female wardens, any race are brilliant. I just can't picture her with a dude beyond using him to get something done. I like her with Josie and Morrigan as well.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Iron Bull and Sera, hold with me here, because she needs fun and to remember she can have it. Same for Lace. But I also see her being friends with Viv. And of course Josie and I kinda dig her friendship with Cassandra. She could be friends with anyone, until she stabs them I guess.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I think they wanted a hardass spymistress and almost neglected everything else. We get bare hints of the Leliana we met in dao in dai. Once again people change, but i think its fucky.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
No to the lyrium ghost? What the fuck? She fakes her death if the warden kills her. Boom done, and keeping in line with her Bard status. You can't tell me the chantry allowed a god damn ghost. Although, a lyrium based ghost could be corrupted by blight and thats scary. An evil Leliana, scary but hot.
Merrill
How I feel about this character
She is adorable and performs blood magic. She's my one of my top 5 characters in this realm. She goes around picking flowers out of random gardens? Her pure excitement at seeing a mugging. I however despise her clan. The people who should have cared for her the most, betrayed her the most. And she restores an Eluvian, just how powerful of mage is she? Like yes i know she has a demon or whatever but she has far more control of that deal then Anders does with justice. It seems to be a healthy deal.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Isabela! You know she brings home all the exotic flowers she can find while shes on the sea for Merrill.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Also Isabela. They have such a good friendship in game? Puts marbles in her boots.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Every time someone writes her as a sweet little pushover i want to sacrifice them to the seven circles of hell. She's arguably one of the strongest mages we meet, and not necessarily spell wise. The will power she must have, she has a successful partnership with a spirit. She laughs at near muggings? You think balls that big would be a doormat? Gtfo.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
She should have been brought in as an advisor, arcane, elven whatever, in dai. Morrigan? The elven expert? Eluvian expert? A lot of that was based off well flemeth is her mom and she just felt a connection with research into elven magic. Sure jan. As a Daughter literally never do you listen that well to your mom. She could have been a knowledge buddy with Merrill. Even with Solas, they literally trust some rando that wanders in. A total unknown that spouts off about the fade that is suspicious use of elfroot sounding. There was an opportunity and they missed it.
