Queer Vocaloid Song Tournament: Side A, Round 1
Please listen to all songs before voting!
Shama by NILFRUITS feat. VFlower

VS
Zero Talking by Harumaki Gohan feat. Hatsune Miku

Propaganda under the cut!
SHAMA
"extremely potent yearning, the powerful dynamic of safety in disguise but a dangerous freedom in truth, beautiful characters…what more can you ask for?"
"if i am being completely honest i dont actually get everything that happened in shama - that can be left to all the other people who are more knowledgeable about nilfruits songs than me and immediately thought of submitting this - but I immediately thought of this song because its so SO good. the song itself is incredible and the mv adds on to make it an even greater work!! i might not know all of shama's story, but what i do know is that shama's a fantastic song regardless and i'll go crazy whenever i hear it. and i also do know that clay and kalmia (especially clay) are some great lgbtq+ rep in a vocaloid song!!! the section from 2:00-2:36, when accompanied by the mv, is maybe one of my favorite moments in any vocaloid song. what follows is also great! as propaganda i am begging the reader to go listen to shama with the mv if they haven't. i don't want to explain it because i don't entirely know how to but they're fucking gay and i really like how the mv shows this!"
"sapphic 👍👍"
"Okay so this one is kinda hard to explain but the MV is some flavour of queer for sure. Just… watch it and you'll get what I mean"
"a femme-fatale prisoner and one of her guards have a doomed romance..! the mv is by wooma, who uses a graphic colour palette to complement nilfruits's addictive guitar melody. this song is also the first in a series, so if you're interested in the prisoner's backstory, you can watch the other works to find out more :-)"
ZERO TALKING
"tbf most harugoha songs are so #yuri but this one has an actual kiss. royalty x maid childhood friends who have drifted apart over the years and the royal lady (unsure of her english title, in japanese shes just named daireijo) desperately wants to just Talk to her dearest maid dorothy again but can't get anywhere with it (hence the title). In the final chorus of the MV she has enough and kisses dorothy on the lips. They're referred to as "sisters" sometimes but this is a reference to the classic catholic school yuri trope where an older girl will take in a younger one as a "younger sister" and they have a sort of romantic friendship going on. They're like definitely not actually sisters it would make no sense. It's such a good song. the bass in it is really good. please listen to harumaki gohan"
"despite the sister term scare that happened when the mv first came out this mv is about a princess and her maid who used to be friends and i believe grew apart and the princess is trying to reconnect with her friend. also first harumaki gohan mv kiss iirc!! the song is also just a brainworm in general i looped it so much it was stuck in my head for months"
"The song is about a girl who has a strained relationship with another girl, and who wishes for things to go back to the way they were (the maid doesn't talk to her anymore). The use of "sister" is also not literal, instead being a term found in yuri to describe a relationship between women (often shorten to S/esu), as well as the comparison between the two girls and the story of orihime and hikoboshi, as well as the fact they literally kiss in the song. I don't know if you can really deny it with that."
"this was in my head for weeks and weeks after it released!! the mv really makes it, the surprise near the end is so cool"
"😳"
"ZERO TALKING TALKING TALKING .Harumakigohan is the king of vocaloid yuri rn but oh my god first on-screen kiss in his songs!!! For a cute song about a princess trying to win back the affection of her childhood friend now employed as a head maid at her castle. just listen to the beat and tell me u are not enthralled. the lil "pop" noise in the song when they smooch is adorable. the song is so catchy it's ridculous i just hit that shit on loop."

Deep Down Town
The Glittering Prize
It had been quite a night. Uh’kue had caught up with Shalandrae in Dornogal while the druid was heading into town with Aziguni to replenish the draenei’s supply of arrows and to buy a new herb pouch for herself after her old one had finally worn out on her. The zandalari woman had insisted on meeting with everyone she could and described the vision she and Orwenya had shared.
On their way back out of the caverns below Orwenya had sensed something in the Ringing Deeps and had split off to investigate, Uh’kue telling her she would relay her information to her allies and return.
A vision of hammers in the deep, a loud grinding sound, and what seemed to be strange machines…
Grimo had been particularly interested in this, something about what she described felt very familiar to the goblin, and the members of Avalon and Savage United had discussed this new business over dinner that night.
Afterwards, the group had all bedded down for the evening in the hold of the ship, the silence broken only by the occasional snore or the creak of a hammock, when Sekhi had sat bolt upright so fast she’d almost jumped out of her bed and cried out in shock.
The sudden shrieking sound of the vulpera had woken the rest of Avalon and Savage United and, after Nitika had managed to get the diminutive shamaness to calm down, she had explained that she had just felt the earth cry out deep below them. A huge crashing sound, like a giant bell slamming as hard as it could, had woken her out of her sleep.
The next morning Nelen and Grimo had gone into Dornogal to discover what they could and found that the new development was in fact the talk of the town. A cavern wall in the Ringing Deeps had collapsed and behind it were goblins. LOTS of goblins. A massive goblin operation was going on.
The two of them went back to the Glittering Prize straightaway to report what they had found out, and a plan was formed.
“We must look into this. I don’t know if its connected to Xal’atath and her followers evacuating Azj-kahet, but either way its something big.” nodded Nelen as he pointed to the southern end of a map of the Ringing Deeps.
Grimo nodded, his arms folded over his chest. “Yeah, I checked around with some of th’ Bilgewater boys in town and word is there’s goblins down there with a cartel nobody recognizes. Black armor ‘n weird ass weapons. Nasty ones.” he grunted. Some might assume a goblin would get offended if people thought a massive goblin operation was problematic, but Grimo knew better. That many goblins in one place could be a huge business venture… or it could wind up with the sort of ‘incident’ that leaves a dent in the planet. That and the idea of an unknown cartel worried him.
There were four major goblin cartels on Azeroth.
The Bilgewater Cartel was Grimo’s and its trade prince, what the goblins called the leaders of the cartels, was Monte Gazlowe, though he didn’t often use the title. Under his leadership the Bilgewater were becoming a haven for goblins, Azeroth’s first worker’s union. He encouraged dissent because he wanted to do right by his cartel, would insist on shouldering his own share of the load, and even offered fair pay and sick leave (a novel concept to goblin society.)
The Steamwheedle Cartel was based out of Gadgetzan and led by Marin Noggenfogger, a world-renowned alchemist and inventor of the famous Noggenfogger Elixir. His cartel was at the cutting edge of alchemical science, and they were credited with some groundbreaking work. Edwood was a very avid follower of their progress, being a member of the Grand Apothecary Society himself (what remained of it following the Blood War anyway.)
The Blackwater Cartel was based out of Booty Bay and its leader was Baron Revilgaz. A former pirate, he had turned legitimate, and these days was the de-facto master of shipping for all Azeroth, goblin or otherwise. For both the Horde and Alliance it was well known, no matter what you needed the Blackwater Cartel could get it to you if the price was right.
Finally, the Venture Company. Their leader had been killed during the Blood War and nobody really knew who ran the show now… but they had a horrible reputation among the Alliance and Horde, and even other goblins. Deforestation, strip mining, kidnapping, press ganging, nothing was off the table for the Venture Company.
The four goblin cartels were well established and had existed since before the opening of the first Dark Portal. The emergence of a fifth cartel would mean a goblin was styling themselves a new trade prince and either had somehow amassed a lot of capital without someone from the other four stepping in… or someone was helping them.
There were many worrying thoughts as to who that someone might be.
Nelen nodded, “Right, we need to investigate this. Grimo and I have already decided we’ll go… but I’d prefer to take several of us, six maybe. The rest of us can stay here until we have a better idea of whats going on down there and keep watch in case something happens in Khaz Algar proper.” he explained.
“I’ll join in matey.” grinned Edwood, “Goblin alchemy is somethin’ I’m always keen ta learn more about, ‘n ye might need someone who ain’t afraid ta fight fire with fire, aye?” chuckled the forsaken man as his imp Guzzle cackled and kicked his legs from his usual seat on Edwood’s shoulder.
“I’ll come too.” nodded Samantha, “I did a few ‘corporate espionage’ jobs for the cartels back when I was in the Horde and…” she paused as a tendril in her hair twitched a few times, “… Annulus says that she feels like something big is happening down there. She wants to see it for herself.” she frowned.
Galdia grinned, “If there is somethin’ big happening then I want in!” she laughed, “I’ve been bored without any nerubians to fight anyway!” the orc flexed her arms, her muscles pressing out against her skin.
Nelen nodded, “That may not be a bad idea… a sturdy melee fighter may come in handy…” he replied, sharing a glance with Grimo as they both shared the same thought. If there was trouble down there, the best way to deal with it was to point Galdia at it and stand out of the splash zone until she was done. “Anyone else?” asked the magus.
“Weeeeeeeeeell…” came a voice with a thick southern drawl. “Ya’ll said th’ goblins are down there… ‘n they’re th’ ones that made that Kaja-cola stuff, right?” asked Zhan-min. “If there’s one thing I’d never gotten a chance ta try in my brewin’, its kajamite.” he chuckled, “So if ya’ll don’t mind me taggin’ along…”
Grimo’s eyebrow rose at that, “… hm… elementally infused kajamite beer…” he grinned, stroking his chin as his stubble made a rasping sound against his gloves. “… now that sounds like a business venture I’d like to be part of!” he grinned widely.
Nitika snorted in an annoyed way but just rolled her eyes at him. Zhan-min would be the one actually experimenting with it, and at least his track record of ‘oops I blew it up’ was a lot better than Grimo’s.
It wasn’t zero… but Jaie had survived and recovered, so she’d take that.
Nelen nodded, “Alright then, gather what you need today. Tomorrow we’ll head down into the Ringing Deeps and see whats going on.” he said as the meeting broke up.
The Next Day…
The six adventurers had traveled down into the Ringing Deeps and found a massive goblin undertaking was well underway, even more than they’d heard rumors of! With Samantha’s help they’d snuck past a hastily constructed toll checkpoint, the void elf using Annulus’ power to hide the group from sight, and after she had stolen some paperwork from the local goblins Nelen had managed to forge them proper documentation.
With Grimo acting as their recruiter for a business venture on behalf of the Bilgewater Cartel they were able to enter the work site and upon reaching the end of it, Grimo’s eyes lit up.
Right there, built into the wall, was a massive rocket on rails set into a tunnel leading deep into the bowels of Azeroth.
“It can’t be…” whispered the goblin as he stepped forward, “That’s… that’s what we’d use on Kezan to…” he grinned widely, his sharp pointed teeth visible as his lips pulled back. “Guys, we gotta check this out!” he nodded.
The others glanced among themselves, but before they could stop him Grimo had jogged up to the goblin manning the controls and presented the forged credentials… along with a few gold coins to help ‘grease the wheels.’
The rocket’s operator shrugged and quickly pocketed the coins, then nodded. “Right, passage for six it is then buddy. Get yer team aboard ‘n hold on tight.”
Grimo looked back at the group and waved, “C’MON YOU MOOKS! TIME’S WASTIN’!” he shouted as the others quickly followed him, a hatch opening on the side of the rocket as he quickly ducked into it and took the most comfortable chair (and the only one with a safety belt.)
Nelen and the others squeezed inside, the rocket was rather cramped for non-goblins, as Nelen took a seat on what looked like a wooden kitchen chair bolted to the floor. “Grimo, what exactly is going on?” he asked.
Grimo smirked, “Ed, remember how I was talkin’ about th’ Undermine back in Mmarl?” he asked as the forsaken man tried and failed to make himself comfortable on a large beanbag chair.
“Uh, aye?” he asked as Zhan-min managed to squeeze onto two lawn chairs stuffed next to each other with great difficulty.
“Well, this is how we would get there! Unless I’m wrong, this rocket is goin’ straight to th’ Undermine!” replied the goblin.
At this point the group noticed just how excited Grimo looked, and it slowly sunk in they’d followed him inside of something known for going very fast and exploding.
“Uh… is it too late to lea-…” began Samantha as she tried to rise from the easy chair she’d picked, just as the hatch on the rocket slammed shut and locked with an audible click.
A speaker built into it crackled and a goblin’s voice said, “Express rocket from Khaz Algar to Slam Central Station departing in ten, nine, skip a few, ZERO!”
A moment later there was a tremendous explosion and several of the chairs came unbolted from the floor as the rocket shot off at the kind of speed normally reserved for bullets.
Edwood and Zhan-min were slammed hard against the back wall as the sheer force of speed pinned them in place, unable to move at all! Samantha and Nelen clung to their chairs for dear life as Galdia let out a whoop of excitement and gripped her armrests as hard as she could. Grimo let out a similar cheer, holding onto his seatbelt half from excitement and half to make sure it didn’t come undone as the rocket sped off through the tunnel!
“WHAT THE ACTUAL FEL IS GOING ON?!” demanded Nelen as he felt his eyes slowly press back in their sockets. He could swear it felt like the rocket had gone upside down several times, but the speed prevented it from stopping.
“JUST HOLD ON TIGHT ‘N TRY NOT TO BITE YER TONGUE OFF!” called Grimo back to him as their ride thundered along, a loud BANG from behind them filling the air as the rocket suddenly, impossibly, picked up speed!
“KEELHAUL IT ALL GRIMO! I CAN’T FECKIN’ MOVE!” shouted Edwood as he tried to move from the back wall but only managed to twitch one bony finger.
“ME NEITHER! THIS THING IS WORSE ‘N A MAD MUSHRAN!” yelled Zhan-min, his face pressed back to reveal his fangs as the force of their movement kept him immobilized as well!
“GOOD! YER SAFER THAT WAY!” called Grimo back to them, “JUST HOLD ON! IT SHOULDN’T BE MUCH LONGER!”
“MUCH LONGER UNTIL WHAT GRIMO?!” cried Samantha, gripping the armrests of her chair so hard her knuckles were turning blue, the tentacles in her hair thrashing around in panic.
Then the radio crackled again.
“Arrivin’ in Slam Central Station in three… two…” it said.
SLAM!!!
Grimo bounced forward as Galdia and Samantha managed to hold onto their chairs enough to keep from getting thrown out of them. Nelen smashed into the back of Grimo’s chair with a loud wolf like yelp of pain, as above them came a loud scream as both Edwood and Zhan-min shot over the rest of them to crash into the front of the rocket’s compartment before landing on the floor in a heap of fur and rotten flesh.
“We have now arrived at Slam Central Station, downtown Undermine. Mind the gap as you leave and thank you for choosing Rocketbus Transport.” the speaker said in a cheerful goblin woman’s voice as the hatch opened.
Grimo unbuckled his seatbelt and hopped out with a grin, jogging outside as Galdia leapt up and followed him, laughing at the wild ride they’d just experienced. Samantha followed rather more shakily than her, but unhurt, as Nelen stumbled out and winced, gasping as he held his arm. He could feel a bruise forming.
“Gordrin’s fangs that was insane… Zhan-min, could I trouble you for some healing mag-…” he began, but the large pandaren man shoved him out of the way, looked around, spotted a trash receptacle, and ran forward to it before sticking his head over it. A moment later his shoulders and back heaved as he retched loudly.
Edwood stumbled out, clicking his jaw back into place as he did. “I don’t blame ‘im… worse ‘n sailin’ through a typhoon that was…” muttered the warlock as he snapped his fingers, Guzzle appearing on his shoulder in a woosh of felfire. He’d unsummoned him just before the rocket had taken off and was convinced his imp would have been a smear on the wall inside if he hadn’t.
Galdia and Grimo had left their companions back on the Glittering Prize, reasoning a smaller team would be able to move faster, and Nelen would be able to open a portal for them if necessary.
“So… where the fel are we…” muttered Samantha, looking rather queasy herself after that as Zhan-min staggered upright and coughed a few times as they took in their surroundings properly.
They were standing in a massive building with several other rockets identical to the one they’d arrived in set up for passengers, several dozen goblins milling about. Some of them looked rather amused and Samantha caught a few of them saying things like ‘hah, must be their first time’ and ‘looks like their bear couldn’t take the speed eh’ and such… and then they saw the exit, and what lay beyond it.
Nelen adjusted his glasses, the pain in his arm momentarily forgotten as he and the others stared. Ahead of them was Grimo, grinning ear to ear. “Guys, welcome to th’ Undermine! Goblin Capital o’ Azeroth!”
Ahead of them was a gigantic city like none they’d ever seen before. They’d seen goblin buildings sure, small squat things made of sheet metal and riveted together mostly… but this city had roads made not of cobbles or bricks but some smooth paving that they didn’t recognize. The buildings were massive, easily five or six floors tall on average, and the windows were lit up brighter than any candle flame could manage. Neon signs hung off every other wall, flashing and flickering and sometimes sparking (though they probably weren’t supposed to do that) in all colors of the rainbow.
Down the path from the station, visible in the distance, was a gigantic building easily three times as tall as any of the others, and beyond it was an even bigger one with huge spotlights infront lighting up the cavern (though it was so far away they couldn’t make out any details.)
There was no sky above them, no stars or clouds, just a dark cavern ceiling held back by metal reinforcements… and along the streets thundered massive machines. Goblin vehicles like a carriage without horses that raced through the city at breakneck speed. They had seen Grimo’s deathwheel and flying machine, but these were new…
Grimo sniffed and wiped a tear from his eye, “Ah man I haven’t been back here since I was just a little squirt…” he sighed wistfully, “C’mon, first stop is the Incontinental Hotel. I remember th’ way.” he nodded as he started off through the city, the others hesitantly following him.
The group set out through the city, the other five a bit more hesitant than Grimo as they tried to take in the bizarre sights around them. Take a group of people from a world like tenth century Earth, where people still thought the water wheel was a neat invention, and drop them unceremoniously into any borough in modern day New York City, and the reaction wouldn’t be entirely dissimilar. Even for people who had traveled to other worlds and seen the technological wonders of the Draenei, this was a shock.
Grimo pulled a cigar out of his pocket and bit the tip off, lighting it with a match before taking a long pull and exhaling a cloud of smoke through his nostrils. He just couldn’t stop grinning. This felt like homecoming to the goblin, returning to your childhood neighborhood (though that was still buried under lava rock on Kezan, he’d only ever visited the Undermine as a child.)
“Its been too damn long… This is th’ beatin’ heart of Goblin Society guys. A city built by th’ cartels, for th’ cartels.” he grinned, “This is where business happens, where invention happens, where everything happens!”
Samantha however looked around with a frown, “Doesn’t seem like much of that is happening Grimo…” she warned.
“Eh?” asked the goblin, looking over his shoulder at her.
“Annulus says something here feels wrong… and… she’s not a void creature, but she was in the void long enough to be able to become like one. She can sense emotions. Annulus says this place is heavy with… despair, desperation… misery…” she frowned.
The goblin slowed, looking back at her, “Well yeah. Being in th’ cartels is a cutthroat business. Deals can turn sour ‘n fortunes can vanish overnight. Shit happens.” he grunted.
“Worse than that.” replied Samantha, “She says its here. The black blood. She can sense it all around us…” she warned.
Then a loud gasp of pain came from a nearby alleyway. The group’s heads turned towards it as everyone’s hands went to their weapons out of instinct. In the alleyway was a group of goblins beaten black and blue, three massive hobgoblins in black armor standing over them.
“Boss says youse gotta pay what youse owe!” snarled one of the huge creatures as he cracked his knuckles.
“B-be reasonable man! We don’t got any moolah left! We paid all we had last week!” stammered one of the goblins, blood running down his chin from where one of the hobgoblins had kicked him in the teeth.
“Ain’t our problem greenbean…” sneered another, “Youse don’t pay, youse gonna bleed.”
The third chuckled, reaching back for his weapon… then pausing as he felt something on his wrist. He grunted, trying to pull his arm free, but found he couldn’t move it. “Huh?” he frowned, looking behind him only to see a fist in orcish armor come speeding the other way and with a sickening crunch it smashed his nose in half and crushed it into his face!
The hobgoblin fell to the ground and roared in pain as the other two spun around to see Grimo, Nelen, Galdia, Edwood, and Zhan-min glaring at them. Grimo’s rifle was trained on the head of the lead hobgoblin and Nelen was already in his worgen form, arcane energy crackling across his claws. Zhan-min’s maces were ready, flames swirling around one as wind howled around the other, and Edwood was holding a ball of felfire.
Galdia cracked her knuckles, then drew her sword and slid her arm into her shield’s straps, growling. “Only cowards attack people who ain’t gonna fight back… am I gonna be killing cowards today?” she snarled, baring her fangs and tusks.
The two remaining hobgoblins scowled and one of them pulled a strange gun from his back, the other drawing a massive sword. Both weapons had canisters attached to them, the gun for an ammunition cartridge and the sword having it built into the flat of the blade with hoses attached to the metal.
“Youse must be new in town…” growled the hobgoblin, “If youse is dumb enough ta take on th’ Darkfuse Cartel!”
Galdia grinned widely, “You don’t know half of what we’ve fought, you’re just extra-ugly ogres to me!” she laughed, raising her sword as she prepared to charge, “LOK’TAR OGA-…” she roared, then suddenly there was a burst of shadows behind the two as Samantha and Annulus appeared. The ren-dorei’s blades were a blur as she slashed across the hobgoblin’s jugular as Annulus drove her own shadowy copies of Sam’s weapons into the ribs of his fellow.
The lead hobgoblin fell to his knees as his sword crashed to the ground, his eyes wide as he slapped his hands to his throat to try to stem the flow of blood, but it spurted out from between his fingers as he fell forward, the other one’s jaw falling open as a spurt of crimson shot out of it, his lung punctured and collapsing as he fell onto his side. Within seconds both were still.
Samantha let out a breath as Annulus’ temporary body vanished in a puff of shadowy motes, “That was close… yeah, guys, don’t fuck with them.” she warned, “Annulus figured out what she’s sensing, their weapons are…” she began to explain, then there was a sudden flash of crimson behind her, the ren’dorei’s eyes going wide.
Galdia was a blur, the mag’har tackling the elf out of the way as the others dove to the side as a blast of dark red energy shot between them and slammed into the wall of a building… and melted a hole through it!
The third hobgoblin, the one that Galdia had punched, was sitting up and holding a gun of his own. He growled and tried to take aim again but before he could there was a loud BANG and the hobgoblin froze, his eyes crossing as he tried to see the gaping hole between them, his jaw falling open, then slowly his body accepted ‘welp, I guess I’m dead’ as he fell backwards. Grimo blew smoke from the barrel of his rifle, then nodded.
Galdia stood up and helped Samantha to her feet, the orc grunting in annoyance at the sneak attack. “Forgot how thick those thing’s skulls are. Anyway, weapons are bad?” she asked.
Samantha took a deep breath, then shook her head, “Worse… look close at the ammo cartridge on that gun.” she nodded to Grimo.
The goblin holstered his gun and walked forward, then leaned in and swore as he suddenly jumped back. “Fuckin’ fel! That thing is full of black blood!” he shouted.
There was a groan from nearby and the others tensed, then relaxed as they saw the goblins who had been attacked by the trio of hobgoblins huddled in the corner.
“Zhan-min?” asked Nelen.
“On it.” nodded the shaman as he holstered his weapons and took out a small totem that swirled with the pure clean energy of water. Zhan-min stepped forward, then began channeling it into the goblins, focusing on healing the worst of their injuries… but it was slow. He was more of a fighter, nowhere near as good at healing as Sekhi or Nitika.
“You shouldn’ta helped us…” muttered the goblin who had been arguing with the hobgoblins when they arrived. “It’ll be worse next time. We’ll be lucky if they don’t kill us…” he grumbled miserably.
Grimo frowned, stepping forward, “If who don’t kill ya?” he asked, “What th’ fuck was all that? Darkfuse Cartel? Black blood weapons?” he asked.
The goblin stared at Grimo, his eyes darting over his face as if wondering if he was screwing with him, “… shit… shit you’re serious. You had no idea…” he gasped, “Oh fuck you guys should go to Slam Central ‘n get th’ fuck outta the Undermine before their boss finds out.”
Grimo snorted, “Buddy, me ‘n my crew are veterans of a lotta bullshit. Who’s their boss?” he asked.
The goblin glanced at the wall of the building behind them, then pointed up at a poster on it. Grimo’s gaze followed his finger, then his eyes bulged as the remaining cigar fell from his mouth onto the pavement below.
On the wall was a poster showing a large heavyset goblin man in a vest and tophat with several chins, pointing at the viewer. Under it was the following: “Join the Darkfuse Cartel today! Great benefits! Cutting Edge weapons! We won’t kill you!”
Below that, in large bold print, were the words: “Trade Prince Gallywix wants YOU!”
“… Jastor…” whispered Grimo in shock.
Jastor Gallywix, former leader of the Bilgewater Cartel. The goblin who had revealed the secret of Azurite to Sylvannas Windrunner which had led to the Blood War, who had vanished from his home in Azshara when Sylvannas had abandoned the Horde to flee to the Shadowlands.
Grimo snarled in fury, then pulled out his gun, leveled it at the poster, and with a loud BANG the face of the goblin on it was replaced with a scorch mark surrounding a bullet hole in the wall behind it.
Jastor Gallywix had also attempted to enslave the majority of the Bilgewater Cartel when they fled Kezan as Mount Karajo erupted during the Cataclysm, including Grimo. It was only by blind luck, sheer nerve, and the intervention of Thrall himself that they had wound up joining the Horde instead, the orcish shaman intimidating Gallywix into abandoning his plans.
Grimo gritted his teeth, all excitement at returning to the Undermine gone in an instant. The Darkfuse Cartel had power, they had the black blood, and their leader… he’d overheard from Gazlowe and some of the other goblins that the Undermine had changed for the worse, but he didn’t want to believe it.
But he couldn’t deny this.
If Jastor Gallywix was in charge down here, then all the stories he’d heard about the Undermine going rotten were true…

I love when fics actually have plot and jokes despite it being written for unrepentant smut:
"Ran, do the calculations for me." Yukari requests. "I think we may have messed up the cycle of day and night for real."
"Oh? What do you mean, Master?" Ran asks, suprised.
"If all four groups each extended the nighttime like Alice explained, can you calculate how long the resulting nighttime will last?" asks Yukari.
"Let's see..." says Ran, deep in thought. "Your powers changed the location of the boundary between day and night. The half-phantom used her sword to cut away a part of the daytime, giving more room for night. The human maid used her pocket watch to slow the passage of the time of day. In other words, slowing it multiplicatively. The spell with the time orbs did the same thing. That makes it slowed exponentially. Plus the initial displacement, and the subtraction. That means nighttime should last for..."
Chen drops down onto Alice's head out of nowhere.
"Three billion, two hundred and eighty one million, sixty five thousand, two hundred and fourteen point eight eight repeating years, Ran-shama!" she says cheerily.

I’ll send the same one back to you. 11 for the ask game!
- @thrilling-oneway
I made a list of songs I wanted in the game ages ago so I'll pull from that (there's a lot sjbceolcjr) (in unit order as well)
Leo/Need:
Raspberry Monster (Honeyworks) - Ichika, Saki and Miku
This list was made before Summertime Record got announced so IchiSaki hadn't had a cover in ages. I still think this song is very likely, if not for L/N at least in game, since Honeyworks now has two commissions in game.
Tokyo Teddy Bear (Neru) - full unit + Rin or Ichika, Shiho and Rin
I do think TTB for Nightcord could also work as you said, but I've seen a lot of people want it for L/N as well. Honestly just IchiShiho and Rin is probably more likely.
Nobody Makes Sense (PinocchioP) - full unit
As a PinocchioP fan I believe we need more of his songs in game, and this one gives the feel of something Leo/Need would sing.
Fireflies Never Came (Harumaki Gohan) - full unit
I also believe we need more Harumaki Gohan in game (seriously why do we only have Melty Land Nightmare and Moonlight I need more Sega).
I'm Saying Farewell to that Rock-and-Roll You (TUYU) - full unit
One listen to this and I instantly went "this is a Leo/Need song". Also we need more TUYU and IchiHona killed it in "As The Morning Glory Falls".
More More Jump:
Magnet (Minato) - Airi and Shizuku
I want this to have a 3DMV as well just so ShizuAiri can do. Whatever that was again. This probably won't happen since they already have two to MinoHaru's one but still.
News 39 (Mitchie M) - full unit and Miku
MMJ needs another Mitchie M song and this one is really cute. Also imagine HaruAiri in that rap part. Thank you.
Ohedo Julia Night (Mitchie M) - Minori, Shizuku and Kaito
Kaito is here for his part and MinoShizu share Miku's lines. I'm not sure why I put Shizuku for this but I think it would be fun (and also please let MinoShizu sing together again).
Seraphim On The Ring (Mitchie M) - Minori, Airi and Miku (possibly Rin?)
Ok this is the last Mitchie M song I swear. This could probably be Minori and anyone but I think Airi works best.
Shounen Brave (Jin) - Minori, Haruka and (possibly) Miku
This is definitely the most out there choice on this list so let me explain. Shounen Brave is my favourite KagePro song and I really want it in game (this won't happen). Should it get a cover I think Minori and Haruka could fit considering the song's story and also when thinking of possible duets for this song they fit best singer wise. This song will never happen but let me imagine it will.
Vivid Bad Squad:
Wave (Niki) - full unit
In a direct contrast to the last song, I NEED this to be in game. If nothing else on this list happens I want this. I have thought about this for ages. No Vocaloid in this song it needs to be unit only. (In all seriousness I will be happy as long as all four of them get to sing it but even if it's a duet I'm fine. Just put Niki in the game).
Shun-Ran (John) - Akito, Toya and Miku
Yes Miku. Let her sing with the guys. This song is fairly popular so it's likely it'll get in and AkiToya will destroy it.
Outer Science (Jin) - An, Toya and Miku
The lack of male/female duets in this game will be my villain origin story, nevermind the fact both of them went to WxS. I know the whole thing is that Vivids and Bad Dogs are the sub units but it's sad seeing the m/f duos stuck to alt vocals and archives only since Junky Night Town shows that they can work. Also this one is a fairly popular choice among people wishing for VBS m/f duets and they're right for it.
Shama (NILFRUITS) - Kohane, Akito and possibly Luka
Luka is here because they most likely won't allow them to sing on their own. Anyways I saw this mentioned once and fell in love with the idea is it obvious I like AkiKoha.
Ochatime (33.exe) - Kohane, An and Miku
YY was adorable so I say give them more 33.exe songs. Also we better get a VBS 33.exe comm at some point.
(As a bonus, what I want the last two archives to be since I'm fairly certain they'll be AkiKoha and AnToya respectively;
AkiKoha - Donut Hole PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE this won't happen because Hachi but still or maybe p.H idk I just really want them to sing Donut Hole
AnToya - Dear Doppelganger they could do it I believe in them)
Wonderlands X Showtime
Ne Ne Ne (PinocchioP) - Nene, Rui and possibly Miku
Miku is a possible here because I don't know how they would distribute the lines amongst three people. Anyway yeah. RuiNene.
Death Should Not Have Taken Thee (Wonderful Opportunity) - Tsukasa, Emu, Rin and Len
The fact they have Adventure Log and not the other is a crime they go as a set. Also if this does happen please don't mess it up again Sega.
Positive Club vs Negative Club (Wonderful Opportunity) - Tsukasa or Emu and Nene
I would prefer Tsukasa over Emu for this but the likelihood is they'll go for EmuNene duet first. I don't mind either way but still.
Any other song from the Bad End Night series (HitoshizukuP) - full unit and Kaito and Meiko
Bad End Night is already in game but I knew a lot of people wanted WxS to get it. Mr Showtime exists now though so it's possible. Kaito and Meiko are both here because why not.
(I only have four for WxS sorry)
Nightcord at 25:00:
Lagtrain (INABAKUMORI) - full unit and Miku
As long as Kanade is singing I'm happy. But seriously why isn't INABAKUMORI in game yet?
Abnormality Dancing Girl (Guchiry) - Mafuyu, Ena and Miku
Everyone and their pet cat has been asking for Mafuyu to cover this, including me. Miku is optional here I am all for just hearing MafuEna belting it.
The Promise (Harumaki Gohan) - Kanade and Mafuyu
I want more Harumaki Gohan in game. Also this would destroy me personally. Go listen to The Promise (and also the other songs in the series).
I'm A Controversy (PinocchioP) (and Ado) - Mafuyu and Mizuki
MizuMafu is built for Ado songs I think. Also I believe Nightcord should get some more energetic songs as a treat.
(I also only have four for Nightcord sorry) (also sorry they all have Mafuyu on them).

"The Prompts." From the Narada Parivrajaka Upanishad, the "Exploration of the Mysteries of the Wandering Sugar Cane Root."
Tumblr media
Naraada now identifies hot buttons a wandering ascetic must avoid. The mind must not be loaned out to any kind of thought words even some of these listed below:
IV-5-6. An ascetic comes down (from his high position) if he has greed, anger, untruth, bamboozling, covetousness, delusion, likes and dislikes, (love of) fine art, explaining tendency, desire, passion, accepting (gifts), egotism, 'mine-ness', practicing medicine, enforcing right conduct (in others), expiatory acts, journeying abroad (into unholy places), and (the practice of) mantras, herbs, poisons and blessing (others) which are prohibited.
IV-7. A sage intent on liberation shall not speak (words such as) 'come, go, stop, welcome, friends and honouring'.
IV-8. A mendicant monk shall neither accept gifts nor induce others to offer donation nor prompt (others to give or take gifts) at any time even in a dream.
IV-9. Hearing or seeing good or bad of his (former) wife, brother, children, etc., and kinsmen, he shall not get agitated; he shall give up sorrow and delusion.
Hearing or seeing good and bad interfere with the tonality if the mind. So what is that reflex we feel when we see on the news that Donald Trump and his friends are freely being allowed to screw all of mankind and no one wants to do anything about it? Or the same in Russia? What is that feeling or sensation all about, and what does the Upanishad say we should do about it? What about the inverse when one sees a pair of shorts walking down the street? And it makes our heart feel like it just might burst? I think I saw the nape of my neighbor's neck the other day and I almost lost it, so I need to refresh my memory on this too.
When presented with a crisis, I resort to the Six Qualties found in Vivekachoodamani, by the famous Hindu Sage Adi Shankara.
The six qualities are shama (calmness), dama (self-control), uparati (withdrawal), titiksha (forbearance), shraddha (faith), and samadhana (concentration).
Here's a more detailed explanation of each:
Shama (Calmness):This refers to withdrawing the mind from sense pleasures and fixing it on the Self.
Dama (Self-Control):This involves controlling the senses and fixing them in their respective centers.
Uparati (Withdrawal):This means giving up all external activities and firmly fixing the mind on its target.
Titiksha (Forbearance):This refers to enduring sorrows without trying to avoid them.
Shraddha (Faith):This is a firm conviction in the truth of the scriptures and the words of the Guru, which is essential for self-realization.
Samadhana (Concentration):This involves making every effort to fix the mind on the pure Brahman, despite its wandering nature.
What remains in the mind after the Six Qualities are engaged are the proper responses to the circumstances, whatever they may be.

"The Pannier." From the Gospel of Saint John, 1: 40-42.
Tumblr media
In the prior frame we learn there are two kinds of vehicles the Word uses to expresses itself in the matter universe called Andrew and Simon. They represent "emancipation and the court of law."
Andrew mans "the manly manliness of liberty that is very friendly under one's husbands":
"The noun ανηρ (aner) refers to a human male individual or husband. Its genitive form is the familiar word ανδρος (andros), which means "of (a) man" or "manly."
Verb ανδριζω (andrizo) means to behave manly (i.e. maturely or courageously). Noun ανδραποδιστης (andrapodistes), means man-stealer, and noun ανδροφονος (androphonos), meaning manslayer. Adjective υπανδρος (hupandros), meaning "under a husband," i.e. married. The adjective φιλανδρος (philandros), means friendly toward men or husband(s)."
and Simon, "a place to be heard before a group of listeners."
"The verb שמע (shama') means to hear and may also mean to understand or obey. Noun שמע (shema') means sound. Nouns שמע (shoma') and שמועה (shemu'a) mean tidings, report or mentions. Noun השמעות (hashma'ut) describes that which is caused to be heard. Noun משמע (mishma') means rumor or a thing heard. Noun משמעת (mishma'at) refers to a group or listeners."
Jesus chose these two first to convey the message of the Gospel Torah for a reason. Due to biological distinctiveness, gay men will not submit to the foolishness of a tyrant. When all of us stop being silly and ridiculous, we must do as Jesus taught and gang up on our oppressors and kill them.
The Gospel of John explains how this essential aspect of masculinity is fervent in the creation of an interlinear being, the subject of the text. First comes John, then Jesus, then recognition of the biological need for male freedom, then the legal aspect, next comes Cephas, or Tizpah, the watch, AKA the subject matter found in the Talmud. What are we watching for? For the message found in the Invocation to click. Men and women, regardless of their race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and religion do not want to be organized by lying, cheating, stinking, filthy losers.
John explains:
40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).
42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter[g]).
Unlike in the Book of Mark, the Disciples in the Gospel of John think they nailed it. "We finally found it." They say.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 40-41: The two heard what John said. The Number is 15914, י״הטאד‎‎, yethatad, "will be recorded."
The Recorder is the Yeshiva, the battleground between good and evil.
v. 42: He brought him to Jesus. To bring the Cephas to Jesus does not roam the high school halls looking for boys with pony tails. glasses, cut off jeans and bad skin to Bible Class. To bring Jesus is to bring the message of the Gospel Torah across, to translate it into a way of life in which all men are able to abide and observe the Shabbos.
The Number is 9501, טנא‎, "the pannier."
A bread basket is a person who is capable of understand how to get bread. Bread is a sacrament because we depend upon it for our survival. Just as the bread keeps us fed, so do all the activities of the Synagogue and the Academy ensure we are intelligent and also ethical.
People visit the bakery because it makes them happy. No one goes there to get their bodies broken rather they go because it feels good. Persons who bake others unhappy are the bane of our existences. This means rather often we must put people who are not able to digest the bread in handcuffs and haul them away never to be seen again.
As for the rest, the breadmaker is the bringer of liberation and happiness. The Cephas, the watch means we need to be sure to put freaks and creeps in the pen, and celebrate the fame of their opponents.

"The Kentron." From Mark 8: 11-13.
Tumblr media
Jesus tells the people "enjoy your life" even while things are not too enjoyable. This is not acceptable to the Pharisees who want something more. This is their nature, to prompt and probe until the necessities of Jewish religious arguments are settled. Jesus sighs, perhaps the most communicative thing He can do and then He goes back to the other side, to sit at the Adult's Table:
11 The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven.
12 He sighed deeply and said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it.”
13 Then he left them, got back into the boat and crossed to the other side.
There was no way for the people of Rome to successfully ring in the Age of the Messiah. Jesus knew this, but like a good Jew He presses the existing culture to do its part. We are just now beginning to understand the effects of His Passages, and not too soon, the world is going tater tots and it could use some good advice.
The truth is without the internet and quantum computing, which connect every knowable thing to every other, we could not hope to accomplish the Mashiach. One wonders if it would have helped the Jews (and the rest) during the Holocaust but to no avail, that is done. It is an object lesson, one we don't want to apply over and over. Nor do we have to- we now know who and what Jesus was and the subject of the tension between us and He is closed forever.
Jesus was actually an okay fellow, He too after all was Jewish, He loved being Jewish and everyone around Him liked that about Him too. Almost everyone, except for those who did not want the Romans to stick hot pokers down their shafts and up their butts.
Tumblr media
Jesus sighs because He senses a very Jewish contest between life and survival is the problem. He is trying to win as many people over to the side of Jewish life vs. Jewish survival as He can. Sighing nonetheless is not mentioned in the Torah, which says "God breathed life into Adam." The etymology explains more deeply why Jesus sighed:
"In the Greek classics our word σημειον (semeion) could describe anything from a marker on a border, grave or monument to a signaling flag in battle, a figurehead on shields, even a password or secret handshake and all that. In logic our word denoted a "sign" such as an example, demonstration or other such proof, and the Stoics and Epicureans used this word to describe the observable as opposed to the unobservable but deductible (the same division is made in Hebrews 11:1).
The medical profession used our word to describe representative symptoms of a certain disease. Mathematics used our word as synonym for στιγμα (stigma), or point (in the mathematical sense).
The shorter version of our word, σημα (sema), in particular was also used in the sense of a "sign from heaven" or omen or sign of portent. In that sense our word was specifically associated with the star Sirius, and while the names Simon and Simeon formally come from the Hebrew verb שמע (shama'), meaning to hear or obey, any speaker of Greek would have surely caught the association with our noun σημα (sema) and its associate noun σημειον (simeion; see below).
Sirius has been known as the Dog-star since antiquity. The Hebrew word for dog is כלב (keleb), hence the name Caleb, which belonged to the friend of Joshua. The name Joshua, of course, is the Hebrew version of the Greek name Jesus. That's all a bit beyond common coincidence."
The etymology says Jesus's sigh is also a sign, but Jesus says no. He wants a fight, not because of a sign, but because that is what has to be done.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 11: The Pharisees, the scientists, came. Everyone hates the Pharisees, but they serve an essential function. The Number is 4669, דוו‎‎‎ט‎, dvt, "the debate."
The most famous debate in Jewish history takes place when God, Aaron and Moses discuss whether or not the complainers should be punished. In Exodus we learn there is no room for human beings that want to keep things shaken or stirred up:
"The Book of Genesis begins with God’s Brilliance, and ends with a hint of mankind’s. Throughout Genesis, we saw men rise and fall, until Abraham, the Founder, rose up and stayed on his feet. From his tutelage grew Isaac, Israel, Joseph and Ephraim, men of distinction. Peace and order followed these men around, one, Joseph saved the world.
Instead of earning greater merits and carrying on the tradition, as humanity is ought and fully capable of, sometimes our enemy, the man of desire, of corruption, is allowed to lead. Then because of delusion about him and his intentions, many die and suffer. Those who watch and wait are as enslaved to him as those experiencing his lash.
It’s just never enough for some or too much for others. The Book of Exodus explains the nature of all slaveries- to those inflicted by self and those by slavers, to the passions, to false gods, to wickedness, laziness, and how different all these are to loyalty to God.
Loyalty to God is the direct result of trust. Doubt in the Will of God is the same as suicide. Doubt in the nature and capacity of the desire to sin is suicide. Liberation starts with the absolution of all doubt. Without Absolution there is no such thing as liberation from sin called “Exodus”.
Exodus is a four part process:
1. We need to realize we are enslaved.
2. All delusion doubt we must be free must be absolved.
3. Effort must be applied to uprooting the causes of the delusion and the shearing away the causes of the slavery.
4. Persons responsible for immoral and unethical acts must be expunged from the world.
What results next is Rule of Law and the establishment of Order.
Jesus tries to explain this to the Pharisees who want something more as the Exodus this time is not against a Pharaoh but against Rome and that is a horse of a different color.
To Jesus, it makes no difference.
v. 12: He sighed deeply. Like Krishna in ancient India, and yours truly in modern times, I have said corrupt governors by definition do not feel a spiritual need to observe limits, nor shall they one day just give up being crude and become mankind's best benefactors.
I have seen Mitt Romney, Mike Pence, Josh Hawley, Rick Perry, Steve Miller, Steve Bannon and others associated with the US Government engaged in reprehensible sexual acts performed in the company and upon little kids. They were done at the behest of the very same persons who attacked the Capitol on January 6 and Israel on October 7, 2023.
Even though my own life was threatened I waited for the right time to share what I knew and five years go turned them in to the FBI. There is very little to show for the risk, but it had to be done. The very same persons remained free and continued their behaviors unchanged for years.
Now their butt buddy, the one who prepared the way is trying to enter the Oval Office and cut them loose once again. He is not humanity's friend, nor are the people that are refusing to kill him.
But it has to be done. There is no clear way to avoid it. The signs have been given, many times already. So, I'm sighing too.
The Number is 6980, וטפ‎, "A tap dance."
What the good goddam do you people think you are doing letting a bunch of American pedophiles dig terror tunnels under foreign soil? Then everyone blamed Israel for wanting a little sanity during its response?
Tappa tappa tappa...
youtube
One thing was sure; dancing around the eventual Roman genocide of the Jews was not going to save their lives. This is why Jesus told the Pharisees no other signs were going to be given.
v. 13: Then He left them. The Number is 2059, כנט, the kentron, "an experiment regarding the wisdom of the welfare of the greater good is a mistake."
"The familiar noun κανων (kanon) describes any straight rod or bar that was used to keep something else straight: staves that marked the boundaries of a field, a weaver's rod, rulers and straight-edges used by masons and carpenters, the horizontal beam of a balance, even the rail of a curtain.
Importantly, this word came to be used in the sense of rule or standard: any custom or understanding that was deemed proper in the court of public opinion, became "canon" (same word), and was supposed to be heeded by all as an example to live by. It's used 5 times in the New Testament; see full concordance.
This very important word illustrates an understanding of the difference between the wily edicts of some tyrant and the wisdom of a crowd that, from the seas of trial and error, has distilled crystals for success and prosperity. The revolutionary idea behind the Logos was that it was no tyrant like the gods of old, but rather alike a republican senate, and always representative of the tried wisdom of the larger population.
From the Greek idea of Logos came modern science: that ever-evolving body of knowledge of the rules upon which the universe has been found to operate, and which ultimately reflect the intimate nature of the Creator (Romans 1:20, Colossians 2:3, Hebrews 1:3)."
We have somehow lost track of what the above means, "an intimate Creator." He hates us for what we are doing. We need to earn His love and respect back.

Sharpen's Warband, 2
Tumblr media
Sharpen finished with tidying camp after breakfast. The next thing was to get hot water to wash the pans, but, being Sharpen, he'd started the pot just before serving everyone breakfast. Hot coffee, poached eggs, bacon, and pancakes were pretty easy to make in a pinch. No syrup, though. But he'd convinced everyone that a fresh honeycomb was better. Even the bees agreed! Al did not like the bees after a while.
Now, it was a matter of waiting a few more minutes for it to boil.
He had a seat nearby his tent, observed his campmates. First of all, Alessandre hated to be observed, so he was somewhat hiding--Sharpen guessed those were the tips of his purple ears poking above the reeds by the creek, but couldn't be sure. A lot of tall wildflowers over there also looked like that. Al's intention, of course.
Hotchkiss, who claimed to be infused with an incubus, behaved more like a normal person. Hotckiss was humming in a gravelly, sort of demon hunter way, and folding his clothes at the moment. Sharpen found this a little annoying in that Hotch was less fun than he hoped. Then again, he'd taken his name from a kind of military-grade gun, as far as Sharpen knew, which promised some form of excitement in the future. Likely, in battle.
The shamaness, Hainko Twinwolf, was off investigating a call she felt. Something to do with the elements. They were going to have to search for her soon if she didn't report back. All morning while he fetched breakfast, Sharpen didn't even see a hint of a person, and hardly any big Tauren, approaching their camp. Cuda had been sniffing around for their lost group member too.
"Well, Cuda? Still nothing?" After receiving acknowledgement, Cuda paced, agitated. Sharpen got up, slapped his thighs in an obvious manner, "Welp! We have a lost person on our hands. Let's get armed, go out--"
Another ghost wolf, more blue than Cuda, and a lot larger, was suddenly coming toward Sharpen mid-air. Shamanic ghostwolves didn't really re-enter our mortal realm, slipping in mournfully as lost spirits traversing death and life might. They more sort of bloomed from the air itself, like sudden rain or a breeze. A shaman's pearlescent wolf came running at you, seemingly from the sky.
And then, Sharpen got bowled over. "Gah!"
Tumblr media
The big blue ghost wolf standing on Sharpen had Hainko's Tauren voice, "Look what the elements brought! A bounty! A crossbow for you... and I'm already wearing the belt and helmet. The spirits are very pleased that I hunted the displaced memories, put them to rest."
Al was in fact not by the creek. He startled them by speaking from above. He rested on a tree branch. "My owl brought reports of this."
"Displaced memories, become like flesh?" Hotchkiss sounded skeptical.
Al explained, "They are all over Azeroth now, because of the radiant song. All sorts of things are... displaced. I'm afraid we don't have more intel than that, from any source. Khadgar himself is still investigating."
Hainko nodded, "Well, he's relying on people like us."
Sharpen grinned hard at his fine new crossbow. He held it up, "Heroes!"
Hotchkiss crossed his arms and sounded ironic, "Champions. I'm more of a mercenary."
Alessandre bent to get down, then hung from his arms to swing before leaping elegantly to the ground.
"Whatever our motivations are for being in this thing, it's a serious situation and getting worse. We'd better get moving. Hainko, is the displacement site far?"
"Not for a shaman and her spells."
He shrugged, "I guess you're not willing to conveniently pull us through the realities. Let's break camp and head to Dalaran. Bound to be a few portals from there." Then, he got snobbish, particularly in the demon hunter's direction, "Assuming everyone here is expert enough that they've been granted a hearthstone for their honorable service to the Kirin Tor, over the years?"
Hotchkiss really grinned then, showing his sharp demon teeth. "I'm sure access to an interdimensional demonic warship docked in the vicinity counts."
Sharpen cheered, "I can whistle for a golden eagle to pick me up! I'm a member of the Unseen Path, still."
Alessandre glared, "Sharpen. You're not supposed to say that out loud, that you're in a mystical, secret hunter organization."
Still, Al was the last to depart. The others each had their own, special way of being near-instantly spirited off to Dalaran. But for all the trash he talked, it took Al an hour and more to find, and then heat up his own hearthstone.
He grumbled the whole time.

2 Chronicles 28: 1-3. "The Yacht."
Tumblr media
Something is wrong with a culture led by a king who is named "Soundness" that relapses to "detestable practices" almost at once after a new king, called Ahaz takes over.
Ahaz means "Brotherhood of Power" but it aslo means, "Brotherhood of Gossip." "Who hears rather than gives ear to."
The Etymology suggests a member of this family is incapable of weighing what he hears, making sound judgements and engaging in appropriate actions afterwards. They cannot be in leadership positions.
אזן
There are two verbs of the form אזן ('zn), which are most likely of separate origin. But still, it seems likely that Hebrew poets recognized their similarity and perhaps allowed these identical roots to explain each other to some extent:
אזן I
The root אזן ('zn) isn't used as verb and it's unclear what it may have meant. BDB Theological Dictionary suggests that the original meaning may have had to do with being pointy or sharp. Its derivatives are:
The feminine noun אזן ('ozen), meaning ear (Genesis 35:4, Deuteronomy 29:3, 1 Samuel 20:2).
The denominative verb אזן ('azan), meaning to hear or rather to give ear to (Deuteronomy 32:1, Isaiah 64:3, Psalm 80:1). This verb differs from another verb that means to hear, namely שמע (shama'), to hear, or rather to listen to, hearken or obey - see the names Ishmael and Simeon.
The masculine noun אזן ('azen), collectively denoting tools or implements. BDB Theological Dictionary proposes that this word refers to pointy or sharp tools and weapons.
אזן II
The verb אזן ('azan) occurs just once, in Ecclesiastes 12:9, in the sense of to weigh or test. More frequently occurring is the derived masculine noun מאזן (m'zn), meaning balance or scale. This word occurs always in the dual form - מאזנים (mo'zenayim) - to denote a pair of scales.
28 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord.
2 He followed the ways of the kings of Israel and also made idols for worshiping the Baals.
Ahaz whose Gematria for "twenty years old, reigned 16 years" should return "a just continuous pattern". What happens to it when we throw in some Baal worship? The practice of treating other men as if they are gods?
The Gematria is 11959, יאטה‎ט or yattat, or the yacht, which is related to yetter, or a bowstring. Yatt= what is known, at=regions beyond.
Yattar refers to the way a fragment or a remnant can be used to recreate what was lost.
יתר
The beautiful root יתר (yatar) yields words with a general meaning of remaining or being a rest (a remainder). HAW Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament submits, "It refers to one portion of a quantity which has been divided. Generally it is the smaller part and sometimes it is the part of least quality".
The concept of remnants is important in the Bible, so important that a discipline called remnant-theology deals exclusively with it. Often a remnant is simply something that remains, like a surplus of donated items (Exodus 36:7) or food (Ruth 2:14). But it may also refer to the years of life one has remaining (Isaiah 38:10), or the survivors of an onslaught (Joshua 12:4).
The special position of the remnant in the Bible becomes clear in Scriptures such as 2 Kings 19:30-31: "And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of Mount Zion survivors. The zeal of YHWH shall perform this".
The existence of a remnant brings about the notion that (a) something can't be exterminated, but (b) that there is more than enough, and that leads to connotation of this verb of to be abundant or rich, or even excellent as an adjective.
Hence, a "rich" mouth (verbosity, perhaps?) doesn't become a fool (Proverbs 17:7), and the surplus of one's possessions (that's what remains after one's necessities have been met, and what goes into store rooms or bank accounts) can't be taken to heaven (Ecclesiastes 2:11).
This verb has a few very curious derivatives, namely the masculine noun יתר (yeter), meaning cord or bowstring, and masculine noun מיתר (metar), also meaning cord or string. With these cords, one may tie down a strong man (Samson in Judges 16:7), but also a tabernacle (Exodus 35:18).
The wicked may lay an arrow on their string and shoot it at the heart of the righteous (Psalm 11:2), but the righteous have the Lord and his bow to withstand assault (Psalm 21:12). When someone's tent-cord breaks, he nears death (Job 4:21), and when a group's tent-cord breaks, the group will succumb to their enemies (Jeremiah 10:20).
It seems that the most fundamental idea of the Biblical remnant is that a remnant is not simply an anonymous sample of the larger collective it's a remnant of, but rather a designated selection that kept the collective together in the first place.
That makes Abraham's plea with God over the possible ten righteous people in Sodom suddenly a lot more logical (Genesis 18:16-33). If there had been ten righteous people in Sodom, they would have kept the city together, or at least had kept it from destruction.
It also sheds some additional light on the enigmatic Pauline verse, "in him all things hold together" (COLOSSIANS 1:17, compare with 2 Kings 19:30-31 cited above). And it certainly indicates in what grave danger the world is, and how possible the events foreseen by rapture theology — which we here at Abarim Publications generally refute — might come to pass.
Other derivatives of our verb are:
The masculine noun יתר (yeter), meaning rest, remnant (Exodus 23:11, 2 Samuel 10:10). Note that this noun is spelled and pronounced the same as יתר (yeter), meaning cord or bowstring.
The feminine noun יתרה (yitra), meaning abundance, riches (Isaiah 15:7 and Jeremiah 48:36 only).
The masculine noun יותר (yoter) or יתר (yoter), meaning superiority or advantage (Ecclesiastes 6:8, Esther 6:6).
The feminine noun יתרת (yoteret), meaning appendage (Exodus 29:13, Leviticus 8:16).
The masculine noun יתרון (yitron), meaning advantage, excellence, and which is used in Ecclesiastes only: Ecclesiastes 1:3, 5:15, 10:11.
The masculine noun מותר (motar), meaning abundance (Proverbs 14:23), or pre-eminence (Ecclesiastes 3:19).
The etymology states "In Him all things are held together" in this case with Ahaz, because he wasn't a visionary and didn't meditate, did not have direct experience, in him, all things fell apart:
3 He burned sacrifices in the Valley of Ben Hinnom and sacrificed his children in the fire, engaging in the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.
The Valley of Ben Hinom = the place of Son Of Wailing or Son Of Muffled Groaning= the beating of slaves, persons who are deprived of equality as in the time the Jews were slaves in Egypt.
How loud does one have to wail under the lash of an unjust King before God will listen? So long as the ears of the Righteous are trained away, listening to rubbish:
G‑d, who is infinite and undefinable, cannot be named. Thus G‑d has no name, only names — descriptions of the various behavior patterns that can be ascribed to His influence on our lives.
In the words of the Midrash, "G‑d said to Moses: You want to know My name? I am called by My deeds. I might be called E-l Sha-dai, or Tzevakot, or Elokim, or Ha-Va-Ya-H. When I judge My creatures, I am called Elokim. When I wage war on the wicked, I am called Tzevakot. When I tolerate the sins of man, I am called E-l Sha-dai. When I have compassion on My world, I am called Ha-Va-Ya-H..."
Therein lies the deeper significance of the question that Moses anticipated from the children of Israel. What is His name? they were sure to ask.
What type of behavior are we seeing on the part of G‑d in these times? You say that G‑d has seen the suffering of His people in Egypt, has heard their cries, and knows their pain, and has therefore sent you to redeem us.
Where was He until now? Where was He for the eighty-six years that we are languishing under the slave-driver's whip, that babies are being torn from their mothers arms and cast into the Nile, that Pharaoh is bathing in the blood of Jewish children?
What name is He now assuming, after eighty-six years in which He has apparently been nameless and aloof from our lives?
The Gematria and reading are correct. We need leaders who are capable of listening to the cries of the suffering on earth and also board the Yacht, Audience with God and then return to adjust the conditions. A rich mouth on a fool, with ears that cannot listen, a peddler of nonsense will always turn the tide the other way.

Radiant Song
Deep under the Isle of Dorn
A tunnel lead deeper from the Ringing Deeps into the caverns below the island, and through it walked several people.
At the lead was Dareley Steelhammer, the paladin striding with a strength and confidence he hadn’t felt in decades. True being an earthen came with it’s own problems and concerns, but it had quite literally saved him from certain death and given him the strength to save his friends from Xal’atath’s minions.
Following him was Nelen Fullmoon, the magus having heard rumors about a tribe of humanity living under the isle. When he and the other survivors of Dalaran arrived, many of the earthen asked if they were ‘Arathi.’ This had rather surprised Nelen because as far as he knew the Arathi were all but gone in the Eastern Kingdoms. Their lands had been ravaged by the past wars of Azeroth and existed as a bare shadow of their former glory.
Along with them were Samantha Montebank, who was curious as to what awaited them as well, along with Laurelgosa who would be needed to scout ahead if they ran into a potentially dangerous situation as she could fly.
Lastly was Sekhi, the vulpera shamaness’s ears twitching as they went further below. She could hear something ahead of them, but she couldn’t quite make it out yet.
“So, th’ earthen o’ Dornogal told me that this be th’ path ta a place called ‘Hallowfall,’ where these ‘Arathi’ types live. It got sealed off durin’ all th’ troubles with th’ High Speaker, but Brinthe ordered th’ path reopened once she took over.” explained the Paladin.
“I wonder what these Arathi are like… I can’t imagine that Trollbane sent any of his people here. The man has his hands full just holding whats left of the Kingdom of Arathor together these days.” mused Nelen as they walked along, the tunnel slowly getting brighter. It wasn’t unexpected, they had encountered quite a bit of light sources down underground. Glowing crystals, bioluminescent fungus, even just holes in the ceiling of the caves letting sunlight in.
Sam looked up and cocked her head as they got further along. The light ahead was brighter now, but… almost too bright. “Guys… is it just me or does that almost look like sunlight?” she asked.
Laurelgosa, still in her visage form of Laura Brightflame for now, nodded. “It… does yes. How odd… we must be several dozen miles below the surface by now… That should not be possible…”
The group picked up the pace, Sekhi rushing along after them as she shifted into her spirit vulpin form to keep up, and then they rounded the corner and stopped dead, staring ahead of them.
It was as if they’d returned to the surface somehow. A huge expanse stretched out before them of verdant grasslands and tall strange flower-like plants, the fields below dotted with cities. Human cities judging by the constructions. Through the air above soared several zeppelins, and there were tall towers glowing with light at each town.
But what gave them all pause was above. Hanging from the cavern’s ceiling, with clouds drifting lazily around it, was a gigantic crystalline object that shined with an inner radiance so bright it was akin to the sun itself!
“By th’ light…” whispered Dareley, “I’ve never seen anythin’ like it… even deep under Ironforge… even in bloody Deepholme!”
Samantha shaded her eyes, “It… looks like there’s markings on it… but I can’t make them out. Its too bright.” she frowned, the light making her oddly uncomfortable. Not hurting her, but it felt like being out on a very very sunny day, too sunny to the point that one risked sunburn.
Nelen made a gesture with his hand, his fingers trailing motes of light. “Its… radiating power of some sort… but I don’t think its arcane. I can’t tap it whatever it is… it… it almost looks like a massive chunk of Azerite!”
“I confess Nelen, I am at a loss…” agreed Laura. “It is unlike anything I have ever learned of in my training as a dracthyr. If Neltharion ever knew of such a thing, he did not tell us.”
Nelen looked back, “Sekhi, what do you think? Do you hear anything coming from it?” he asked.
Sekhi did not reply, the vulpera standing there staring at the crystal, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly open.
“Sekhi?” he asked again, walking towards her. “Er… are you alright?” he added as the other three turned to look at her.
Sekhi didn’t move, she didn’t even blink.
Nelen frowned, then crouched down and waved a hand infront of her face, then snapped his fingers a few times. “Sekhi? Sekhi!” he called out, then took her shoulder and gave it a firm shake.
She didn’t even flinch.
“Blast…” he frowned, then got out his gemstone and drew Nitika’s rune on it. When her face appeared he began to explain the situation, but Sekhi heard none of it at all, or saw it, or even knew he was doing it. The moment she saw the glowing object, she was gone.
Somewhere Else…
“YIP!” gasped Sekhi, looking around frantically, then whimpering and looking around for somewhere to hide!
She was somewhere else now, somewhere dark and foreboding, and all around her were nerubians! It was a massive city of the arachnid people, tall spires reaching to the cave’s ceiling where strange purple glowing fungus grew to light the area. Occasionally a swarm of nerubian flyers would soar overhead, visible against the glow.
After a moment, however, she realized something. None of the nerubians were paying attention to her or looking at her at all. She looked down at herself and gasped. Her body was transparent… rather, her body wasn’t there at all! She was there in spirit, quite literally.
She looked around, her ears flicking, then yipped as she heard a song in the distance. She couldn’t pick up any of the nerubians around her (which she was confused by but not necessarily upset about) but she heard something further in…
She scurred away through the throngs of arachnids, following it. None of the spider-folk even noticed. She went along the path, up some stairs, through the buildings, and then… she saw it.
A huge building stood before her, and carts were going into the entrance. Each cart was laden with sturdy glass and metal spheres, and each one was filled with a viscous crimson liquid… and from it, she could hear the song.
Sekhi whined, her ears folding back as her teeth went on edge. The song was horrible! It was an echoing aria speaking of a thirst for power, for control, a desire to consume and conquer… and the worst part… she recognized it.
She’d heard it in the distance as she and her friends had fled Dalaran’s destruction.
“T-th’ harbinger…” she whined, staring at the orbs, “That’s Xal’atath’s song! But… w-what are those?! Why’s it comin’ from ‘em?!” she whimpered, moving closer to the entrance… and then a woman emerged, floating a few inches off the ground. She was an elven woman, but with runes tattooed on her skin and eyes like black holes.
Sekhi froze, then slowly started walking back as the woman paused.
“Hm?” she murmured, raising her head a bit… and then she slowly glanced towards Sekhi’s direction.
Suddenly, the shamaness felt as if something was pulling on her, and with a surprised yip she disappeared into the ground below.
“… hm… odd. Oh well.” shrugged Xal’atath as she floated away into the city, having finished her observation of the work the nerubians were doing with what was inside the orbs.
Sekhi however, was falling… falling down and down, further and further… going through the dirt and ground as if it wasn’t even there… until finally her descent slowed, then stopped… and she saw below her a massive glowing light.
She winced as the glow filled her vision, so bright it almost hurt to look at… and then…
She gasped, looking around in shock.
A battlefield, a war between the nerubians and some human-like people deep underground, and all around her on the ground were trails of the disturbing substance from the orbs, trailing towards a building in the distance, next to the crystal she’d seen before… except now it was a deep shade of violet, and felt downright menacing to her.
Then, she heard the voice again… the one that she had heard so many times in the past.
HEAR ME.
“Azeroth!” she called out, “I hear ya! What are ya tryin’ ta tell me?!” she asked.
Azeroth’s voice echoed in the vulpera’s mind and Sekhi's eyes went wide. Suddenly, she just knew.
Eons ago, before the vulpera even existed, before any of the modern races of Azeroth ever set foot upon its surface… she saw the war between the Titans and the Old Gods. The fall of the Black Empire, their destruction at the hands of the titan keepers, Y’shaarj’s demise at Aman’thul’s hand that had almost killed Azeroth when the titan ripped the old god from her surface, leaving a crater in his wake.
Y’sharrj’s blood, the blood of all the aquir that were slain by the forces of the titans; the Mogu, the Tol’vir, the Earthen, the Mechagnomes, and the Vyrkul. Each one of the aquir they killed spilled it’s blood onto Azeroth’s surface, and down it seeped into the world. Down deep into the dark places, into the caverns, where it stayed hidden away. Deep pockets of the blood of the nightmarish monsters created by the Old Gods to serve them.
There it had remained for eons, like hidden tumors inside the world… until…
Sekhi cried out and clasped her hands over her ears as a crash so loud that it felt more like a physical blow than a sound ripped through her, and she saw a gigantic flaming sword blast through the roof near her. She had heard tales of it. The massive weapon that had impaled the world through the region known as Sithilus. The sword of Sargeras, fallen lord of the Burning Legion.
As it struck, the pockets of blood ruptured open under the surface, and the blood flowed once more… pooling down into the caves under the world, under Khaz Algar… where the nerubians found it.
The blood warped all that it touched. The plants and land around the blood became twisted and mutated… and the song from it… she whined and pawed at her ears.
“STOPPIT! STOPPIT PLEASE! ITS TOO MUCH!” she cried out, the song of the corrupting blood pounding into her psyche, making her temples throb even outside of her body!
Suddenly, the vision snapped off, and she was floating before the glow once more.
She shivered, “Azeroth… please… what do ya want me to do?”
Hear me…
“I do hear ya! I can’t STOP hearin’ ya! WHAT DO I DO?!” she asked, her tail thrashing behind her.
The glow faded for a moment, then pulsed once more.
… help me…
Sekhi gasped suddenly, jolting upright as Nelen jumped back to avoid the vulpera’s head colliding with his own. Laura was nearby, back in her dracthyr form, as she communed with the Emerald Dream to try to heal her even as Samantha had been insisting that whatever was going on wasn’t physically hurting her. Dareley was kneeling next to her as well, the paladin holding out his hand to her.
“Sekhi… lass… what happened? We thought we’d lost ye fer a minute there…” he asked.
Sekhi looked between them all, then whined, “… I know why Xal’atath is here…” she whispered, “… th’ blood. Under th’ island… its their blood...”
Samantha grimaced as her tentacles twitched in her hair. She and Annulus knew exactly what blood Sekhi was talking about.
The sha were known by another name in old times. ‘The Seven Breaths of Y’shaarj.’ His final gasp when Aman’thul killed him all those years ago when the Black Empire fell. If his breath endured all those centuries… what else might have?
Xal’atath’s goal on the Isle of Dorn. The Blood of the Old Gods and their minions. Under Khaz Algar was a massive well of the void-spawned fluid… and in the hands of a being like the Harbinger it could be an incredibly potent weapon.

1 Chronicles 23: 7-9. "Determinations and Purposes."
Tumblr media
Gershonites
Gershonites are ways our traits are extracted out of the ordinary dull man and help him become sovereign:
7 Belonging to the Gershonites:
Ladan and Shimei.
Ladan="Determination of Purpose."
Shimei=
שמע
The verb שמע (shama') means to hear and may also mean to understand or obey. Noun משמעת (mishma'at) refers to a group or listeners.
=A determination to listen will be rewarded with a determination by others to be heard.
8 The sons of Ladan,
Jehiel the first, Zetham and Joel—three in all.
Why three? Three is the number of natural agreement. With three people there are never ties, always a majority on any issue. This is the harmony the Tanakh implies when it employs groups of three to help us find the proper definitions of the names.
Jehiel=to make a living:
חיה
The verb חיה (haya) means to live and life is all about resonance between elements — molecules working together to make a living cell, cells working together to make a living organism and human minds working together to make a living nation.
Adjective חי (hay) means living and adjective חיה (hayeh) means lively. Noun חיה (hayya) means life or living thing, and may also be used to describe a vibrant community. Plural noun חיים (hayyim) literally means livings but describes the whole palette of activities a living being engages in: one's making-a-living.
Zetham=be the light bringer
זהה
It's not clear whether the verb זהה (zaha) or זתת (zatat) ever existed but if it did it probably meant to emerge fresh or bloom (it does so in cognate languages). Note that a flower contains a plant's reproductive organs and by displaying its flowers a plant indicates its willingness and readiness to reproduce. In our modern times flowers have managed to attain a kind of romantic innocence but their native function and original symbolism is that of sexual union (which is why dudes bring flowers), or rather more general: the willingness and ability of being fruitful.
Besides some names, its sole surviving derivative is the noun זית (zayit), olive or olive tree. The blossoming of the olive tree was a sign that the winter was over and spring (ziv) had arrived. The oil from the olive was used in lamps and in medical procedures and became known as a light bringer and a healer. Kings, prophets and priests were anointed into their offices with olive oil, and in proper societies these offices are not political but based on demonstrable levels of practical, fruit bearing wisdom.
Joel= live up to the standards
אלל
The root אלל ('alal) predominantly describes a protruding or sticking out. This may be positive (when one leads a collective), neutral (when one is a tree), or negative (when one fails convention). The latter sense in particular describes foolishness, or at least a failure to live up to cognitive standards or common codes of conduct.
9 The sons of Shimei:
Shelomoth, Haziel and Haran—three in all.
Shelomoth=to make the peace whole again
שלם
The verb שלם (shalem) means to be or make whole or complete, and is also used to describe a righteous recompense or proper restitution (whether positive or not). The familiar noun שלום (shalom) means wholeness, completeness or peace.
Haziel=look forward, be in front
חזה
The verb חזה (haza) means to see or behold. Noun חזה (hozeh) means seer or visionary. Nouns חזות (hazot), חזות (hazut), חזיון (hizzayon) and מחזה (mahazeh) mean vision, anything between the mere act of seeing to experiencing a prophetic apparition. The noun מחזה (meheza) literally describes a place or instrument of vision and is the word for window.
It may be that the verb חזה (haza) originated in the idea of being or looking forward, which would explain the noun חזה (hazeh), which describes the breast of an animal. It may also be that this noun derives from a second verb חזה (haza), to be in front.
Haran=be hot, get pregnant
הרר
The noun הר (har) is the Bible's common word for mountain or hill. Intuition dictates that the root of the word for mountain probably has to do with being elevated, but that's not correct. In Hebrew thought, a mountain is not something that's high but rather a lot of something gathered. And so, a mountain became synonymous for a large but centralized group of people (Jeremiah 51:25), or even gods (Isaiah 14:13).
The obviously related verb הרה (hera) means to be or become pregnant. An association with the previous noun is obvious, although not because the stomach of a pregnant woman resembles a mountain. The Bible depicts nations as individual women even more than as mountains; the words אמה ('umma), meaning people and אם ('em), meaning mother are closely related. A pregnant woman is to her husband what a conceiving nation is to its deity.
Haran I meaning
For a meaning of the name Haran, both BDB Theological Dictionary and Jones' Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names propose Mountaineer.
The name Haran II: Summary
MeaningFreedom, Central FireEtymologyFrom the root חרר (harar), to be a central hub of heat.
These were the heads of the families of Ladan.
We are analyzing what made Solomon's Kingdom different from David's. To conceive a new nation is to give birth to the qualities of its God. If we add to what we've learned already, the first stage is the Four Steps of strategic planning the Temple must perform to set the attitudinal race the people must run in the coming era.
Next is Ladan, which is why one practices Judaism at all. "To make a living while bringing in the light of God."
The Tanakh says the bringing of light begins with a legal framework that originates from what is called Crown-In-Parliament that establishes justice and fairness throughout the world.
Overlooking this, is the vision window which peers upon the heart of the animal and looks forward to its humanity, just as David's people must have after they were freed from captivity in Babylon.
On a personal scale, we have no choice we must grow up and face life through a body that is always changing as it ages. This is the slavery in Babylon; one must outgrow the temptations of youth.
On a national level, the People have a right to a path and purpose that is legally regulated past the point of primitive ideals and respond as rapidly as possible after they are violated.
The importance of this is well known to people living in places like America which were changed forever by despots like George W. Bush and Donald Trump who instituted a deregulated and insecure way of life from which we have not since recovered.
They are examples of how personal and national determinations warp each other. The answer to their legacy is here: "A large group of centralized people climbing to the top of the most elevated of thoughts."
This begins, as in the story of King David, a Crown-In- Parliament, who was first subject to God and led the rest through his Court, the names of whom are contained in this Tanakh.

Update:
I'm very sorry for the false hope, it turns out this was a live stream happening only on December 23rd, and not on-demand streaming.
On a happier note, have scanned the English summary from the official booklet! My apologies for the blur on the sides, I didn't want to mess up the book's spine too bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some highlights, according to my sister who actually saw the play live, and according to me who is a nerd:
You know that joke about how the BBC only has ten actors? Well, kabuki has more but a solid half of them are from the Ichikawa line.
The opening scene with Goemon sitting atop the Sanmon Gate at the Nanzen-ji temple is a direct reference to the kabuki play Sanmon Gosan No Kiri about the OG Goemon Ishikawa
During that scene, the Sanmon Gate actually ROSE UP an entire floor out of the stage
Aime: "They got an actual monkey to play Lupin. I don't know how they did that. The guy came onstage and I immediately thought 'Who tf let that monkey in here?'"
The summary states that "Lupin has come with Jigen to rob Goemon of the Meryumaru", but according to Aime it was more like Lupin standing at the bottom of the Sanmon Gate pulling his tongue out at Goeon and shouting "Haha I've got the other sword sucker!!! You'll never catch meeee!!!!"
They played all the music themes on shamisen, and the audience pretty much lost their entire shit when the opening theme started playing (if you wanna hear what that would sound like, check out this (unrelated to the kabuki play) video! it SLAPS HARD AF). What I wouldn't give to hear Tornado and Zenigata March on the shamisen, my dudes.
In Act I scene 4, Lupin and Jigen legit steal Goemon, and by that I mean they stuff him into a basket and make off with the basket. With Goemon in it. Deadass. They fucking stole an entire samurai. I love them XD
In Act II scene 3, "Lupin III and Goemon have a showdown" does not even BEGIN to explain that scene. There was an actual fucking WATERFALL ONSTAGE with ACTUAL FLOWING WATER (something that a kabuki tour guide told me is actually done since the Edo era????? apparently????? kabuki is INSANE), and Lupin and Goemon actually fought IN the waterfall, with Lupin in basically just his shirt and underwear (which were STRIPED WHITE AND BLUE), and when I say "fought" I mean "splashed water at each other like children". You can actually watch that scene online here.
In Act II scene 2 where Lupin appears disguised as Goemon's ghost, Aime described this as "Goemon shows up with a wicker basket on his head" (that was actually a Komuso monk outfit). Itohoshi clocks that it isn't Goemon by asking the "ghost" to play the shakuhachi flute, and says she knows what her lover's playing sounds like. Later, in Act III scene 1, Goemon plays the shakuhachi to fend off the demon king, an experience that Aime described as "the most horrendous music I have ever heard".
The closing scene is a direct reference to the Red Jacket double episode "The Mysterious Gang of Five / Kooki Kabuki". I'm assuming it's a common introduction scene in kabuki, but I don't know enough about it to be sure.
"My girlfriend turned into a sword." "...That's rough, buddy."
The mechanical dolls described in the summary are a real thing, they're called karakuri ningyo and they're pretty damn cool.
Himiko is also a semi-historical (more like mythical) figure of Japanese history/mythology; she was allegedly the queen of Yamato (pre-Japan) and was a shamaness.
And I'd like to highlight this gem from the summary, which imo encapsulates these people's entire relationship: "Goemon and Lupin III become comrades. Fujiko is interested not in becoming a comrade, but in searching for Himiko's treasure." Or in other words, "Maybe... the real treasure... was the friends we made along the way 💕🤗✨" "No way, I want my FUCKING GOLD!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAVE I MENTIONNED RECENTLY THAT MY SISTER IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON ON THE FUCKING PLANET?????? 😭💕
She went to see the new Lupin III kabuki play on my behalf, called me on the phone for an entire hour to give me a detailed report and listen to me nerd out about the anime references, and then she sent me official merch of the play for Christmas all the way from friggin' Japan. She is amazing, I do not deserve her 😭

Socialists want to crack down on Israeli war crimes
“In a sensible world, the principles set out in ‘Not on Our Dime,’ a New York State Assembly bill, introduced by socialist assembly member Zohran Kwame Mamdani and cosponsored by fellow socialist assembly members Sarahana Shrestha, Phara Souffrant Forrest, and Marcela Mitaynes, would be anodyne and barely need saying. The legislation prohibits nonprofit organizations from supporting the illegal activities of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories, including violence by Israelis against Palestinians, forced eviction of Palestinians from the area, and destruction or expropriation of Palestinian homes or lands ...
“The New York nonprofits targeted by the bill includes the Central Fund of Israel, the largest US-based nonprofit engaged in funneling money to help settlers violently displace Palestinians. Mamdani’s bill, he says, aims to make sure that ‘New York State does not keep subsidizing war crimes.’
“The Israeli settlement activities supported by these New York ‘charities’ not only violate the Geneva Convention but also US policy, which has been to condemn Israeli settlements in the occupied territories. (The State Department determined their illegality in 1978, though many in the US government have been more circumspect.) Condemnation of a crime, however, rings hollow if we’re allowing our own money to subsidize that crime ...
“Legally, Shamas says, it’s ‘uncontroversial,’ explaining, ‘It’s already illegal to aid and abet war crimes, but it’s important to name when New York money is complicit, that this issue matters and that these lives matter.’ The bill also provides a remedy and a process for victims to collect damages from these charities.”
