All the autographs I got! The only person on my list I didn’t get was Matthew. His lines were long throughout the whole con. But I got a picture with him and he complimented my Shaggy cosplay, so I still consider it a win! He was super kind.
The Hazbin gang were all so sweet and talking to them was so much fun! They all seemed to love my Sir Pentious cosplay! Erika even asked for a pic to show Alex. He didn’t respond while I was there, but he’s a very busy person, so I get it completely ^^
I nearly cried when I got to meet Rob. I have looked up to him for so long and it was so amazing to finally meet him. He was as wonderful as you’d expect. It was super hard to choose which poster for him to sign because he plays so many characters I love. I ended up picking Donnie because TMNT 2012 is my favorite version and I never see anything for it. I was telling him about how even some of his super specific roles like Eric from The Little Mermaid 2 have stuck with me and he gave me a hug! He also addressed me in Donnie’s voice and knew how to spell my name without me even needing to tell him! Most people don’t spell it right. He also complimented my cosplay and asked me how to make it and everything (I was Sir Pentious that day). It was such a good time. I would talk with him all day if I could. I unfortunately didn’t get a picture with him because I didn’t have enough money (things tend to go wrong when I’m trying to save money and I had to pay to fix some things the month before fhfhfhdn). But I’m hoping to see him again one day and next time I will get a picture!
Grey was so fun to talk to! She actually had her hair put up with a pin to look like Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender), another character she plays. She excitedly addressed me as Shaggy (the cosplay I was wearing that day), telling my sister and I to "throw Scooby Snacks at any monsters you see!" and told us not to unmask anyone :’) she’s so silly and fun I love herrr! She gave us a hug, too! Frank was super nice and loved the poster my sister brought for him to sign (she got it from an artist at the con) and he even did Scooby’s voice to us!

My sister is a big fan of Cameron Monaghan, so we went to his panel. She was able to get a pic and autograph with him, too! I don’t have the pictures with her because I don’t think she’d want me to post her face here lol.
I didn’t get an autograph from him because of money, but I also got to meet Johnny Yong Bosch! He’s most known for Ichigo from Bleach, but what I was excited for was talking to him about Danganronpa (he is Hajime and Rantaro)!

This is my haul I got from comic con (excluding the things that came with my ticket). I did, indeed, come home with 4 Miku figures. But one was free! Because at that booth it was buy 2, get 1 free.
I also got a Neighthan Rot doll for fairly cheap (they go as high as $70 online). Tbh a Monster High doll is the last thing I expected to get at a con, but I’m pretty down with it lol. Especially because it’s in great condition and still had his journal!
For the Harry Potter sticker and pin, we got those for free at a free Harry Potter trivia we went to because HP is my sister’s favorite book series. She also won a book she doesn’t have! It was like a Dumbledore side story (note: neither of us support or like Rowling as a person. She did not get any money out of us, as this was free).
The mushroom sticker was given to me by an artist as I passed their table! Their info is there on the sticker if you’re interested in their work!
The stickerssss! They make me so happy. There was so many more this artist had that I wanted, but I didn’t have the money for it, unfortunately. I got Ciel, Sebastian, Grell, and Undertaker (Black Butler), Bill, Stan, Wendy, Dipper, Mabel, and Waddles (Gravity Falls - they didn’t have Soos or Ford rip), Craig and Tweek (South Park), Sir Pentious (Hazbin Hotel), Stolas (Helluva Boss), Rampo (Bungou Stray Dogs), and Amaimon (Blue Exorcist).

This stuff came with my ticket! I LOVE the poster!

I didn’t get these, but I thought they were really funny.

Author's Notes: Of course 🍊 anon! I would love to <3
I also got tired of making so many headcanons (believe it or not, I have more saved in my drafts), I'm going to write a one-shot. I hope you like it <3. I also appreciate that you like my work. It's especially nice to know that there's someone who enjoys what I do besides me. By the way, I think Hwei is not in the Yandere “tier list” of LoL, so from how I write him and how I see him, I assume that he is a “Normal” type, because his personality reminds me a little of Ayano from Yandere simulator jjjjjjjjjj

Obedience.
You had heard that word for so long that it was already embedded in your memory. But not in the way most expected.
You hated that word, and for that same reason you almost never hung out with the teachers or students of the temple you went to.
But we are getting ahead of ourselves, we better go to the beginning.
You had been born into a family that had never been close to other nations apart from Ionia, your mother was a strict woman, sometimes bordering on abusive, who always hated temples. Especially religions… Let's say she never had good experiences with it.
And your father, oh your beloved father… He was a saint in every sense of the word. He was kind, a joker… And a smile was always on his face. He had never yelled, in fact even when he was angry, he would just sit in the corner, ignoring everything around him until his mind cooled down.
And, being an only child, your life around them was quite chaotic. While your mother always tried to stay out of her entire family situation—a rather complex issue even for you—your father was the “husband of the house,” so to speak. He was in charge of teaching you both cooking and home care in general, including carpentry and, mainly, the art of home decoration.
He always dreamed of being a great artist, but in his family it was never frowned upon for a man to make the decision to undertake such a complex world of art, because, you know… that's a “women's thing.” But anyway, a lot of things have happened since the last time you talked to your uncles and cousins so… They aren't very important in your life right now.
But do you know that it is important? Where did you study.
Your father insisted a lot on your talent with sculptures and the human form; You really liked making ceramic vases manually, so much so that from the age of 8 you made your first sculpture; It was the strange shape of a dog with small eyes and a giant nose. At the time you barely knew how to paint sculptures, and your father barely knew about sculptures, and the shape of it so… Let's say it looked more like an "alebrije" than a dog with a big nose.
But that was a long time ago, and now the only proof of that memory is the figure on your father's furniture; kept as a beautiful memory.
As time went by your sculptures became more complex; from simple vases for flowers to sculptures with human figures of such a level that, at this point, we could compare them with the statues of Michelangelo.
And your father wanted that talent to be exploited to the fullest. So, after years of arguing with your mother, they both agreed that you should go to the great temple where you would learn about the art.
But there was a small problem, one that was going to haunt you a lot.
You weren't used to how strict that school was.
The first and second day at that school were quite chaotic for you. It wasn't just because it wasn't as you expected, but because everything was very limited.
If you wanted to make art, you had to do it how they wanted, when they asked you to, and how they expected it. However, not only was that not your style, but it seemed like the teachers (especially the principal) always had one eye on you. And only for a few weeks did you endure that strict issue of obedience.
But there was one boy who was particularly kind to you, and he was a young man of always unkempt appearance. His dark circles always stood out on his face, along with his hair that was rarely organized in a linear manner. From the first time he saw you, he felt charmed by the way you expressed yourself; You were good at painting and using magic, but when he saw the ceramic sculptures you made…damn, you really drove him crazy.
But you obviously didn't notice, you were too focused on trying to get along with your surroundings in general that you didn't notice his desperate attempts to get along with you.
However, in the pleasant conversations you had with him, you always saw him as the stereotype of the exemplary boy; someone who dedicated his entire life to his art, to the temple and was admired by everyone for his great talent. You thought he was assured of a great future thanks to his eccentric abilities.
And you, unlike most, learned very well from your mother that you could not let yourself be trampled; especially by anyone you barely knew. So the blood that ran through your veins and the passion for your own art that you kept for so long was slowly being tied to be limited, but with barely strong ropes. It hurt a lot to know that you were in a place that didn't belong to you, it was as if you were a squirrel in the Freljord, or a mouse in a perfume store.
And in the end, when you mentioned all these things to your mother, she didn't take it very well.
—Did you really go through all this while you were in that temple? —She asked, a cigarette between her fingers as she arranged her needles on the table.
You just nodded your head, not looking at your mother at all. The woman, at this, clicked her tongue.
—I knew that those bitches are only good for the basics, they didn't evolve at all —The woman brought the cigarette to her lips, taking a gentle drag —so, do you know something, my child? Send them to hell.
You were used to her bad vocabulary, so much so that at this, you just nodded your head again.
—I know perfectly well that you are not like me, that you want to venture out and learn about “the ways of art” and that I know —The woman moved her free hand in the air, while with the other she only lightly squeezed the cigarette. —, but if you're going to go alone so that that bunch of nuts can do you less, I'm going to get you out even by kicking you in the ass.
Your mother was tough as a chain in the teeth, and you knew that she couldn't last long without making trouble in the temple if there was someone bothering her only daughter. She cared very little if it was a student, a teacher or even the founder of the temple himself —Even though she knows that she died a long time ago— she would go and give her her dose of shit if she messed with the pride of her as a mother.
She advised you to kick their ass if they messed with you, but your father later talked to you about it, advising that you couldn't take all your feelings and thoughts to such an extreme, but that you should think coldly, and not give importance to people that were not to your specific liking, regardless of their social status. You were no less for coming from a family that came from the middle of nowhere.
During your temple walk, you always walked alone, which gave you plenty of time to think about your actions; You had been passive most of the time, however, more than once you let out those classic off-color comments when they already crossed your limit. Words like “Fuck you if you don't like it” or “You're barely able to use colors and you're going to tell me what I have to do?” escaped you in very rare cases.
You entered the less traveled part of the temple, hoping not to encounter those looks that made you uncomfortable. The song of nature resonated in your ears harmoniously, while the sound of the materials inside your bag resonated from time to time.
In the midst of your ramblings, you remembered your lost sculptures, and your forgotten materials; You were not a forgetful pardon, and it seemed strange to you not to find your favorite materials —That were metal, so they were worth a lot of money —, and even though you asked and asked, you couldn't find it anymore, so it depressed you a lot to think that you had lost something that had cost yout parents so much effort, and the mere memory of it caused you to feel that pang in your heart.
Even if your parents said it was nothing that couldn't be fixed, it hurt to know that you had lost one of the most expensive things your parents had cost you to get you.
But it was curious to think what a surprise you would get.
However, you get to hear some noises; without being the whining of baby birds waiting for food or rodents walking in search of food, but rather it resembled the voice of two people talking. You recognized both of their voices, but you thought it wasn't too important to stay there, in fact, you were already planning to go somewhere else when you heard it.
—So that girl, (Name), right?
—Yes, I didn't think you realized that issue.
The second boy's shy voice reminded you of that young man you rarely spoke to, which took you by surprise. Hwei wasn't the type of person to talk bad about someone behind their back, or at least that was the idea you had based on your interactions.
—You don't have to worry, after all it's normal for you to feel attracted to someone —Jhin mentioned, almost in a mocking manner—. So why don't you tell me about her?
You had already noticed the intention behind that interaction, however, after what happened, you thought that maybe you could calm your heart with some sweet words that you weren't meant to hear at that moment.
—Well, she is… incredible —He begins, you hear how the young man sits on a log due to the sound of the hollow wood —, she is beautiful, kind, tender… and her way of expressing her art is so… unique.
You gently leaned your back against the wood, trying not to make any sound. Something in your chest moved abruptly, as if your heart was fluttering like a butterfly in glass.
—I adore her sculptures, I feel that they are the most beautiful thing I have seen —He continues talking, slowly his emotion rose more and more —. I looked sometimes at her work in class or in the room away from her, and they are… beautiful.
—So much so that you had the need to steal them, right?
It was a single sentence, one which echoed in your head for several seconds.
—What are you talking about? —Hwei asks, arranging his hair a little, trying to place several strands behind his ear —. I would never do that.
You didn't hear how Hwei's tone of voice changed, becoming staccato, as his hands clung to his backpack, which he had in his lap.
At this, the other student laughed, almost like a subtle laugh, while his eyes wandered to where your shadow was looming. A mischievous smile forms on his face.
—So, I imagine that the sculptures that are in your room were made by you, right? —He questions, looking subtly into Hwei's eyes—. Or you bought them from her.
Your thoughts slowly formed a thread of the events that had happened. A lump formed in your throat, almost painfully so.
—Or her favorite utensils, she asked me if I had seen them last week, since she had left them near you the last time she saw them —He continued, almost introspectively—, but when I asked you, you only mentioned that you didn't see them that day either.
You shook your head, from the depths of your soul you prayed that it wasn't true, that you didn't have the school prodigy after you in such an extreme way.
—Well, I admit that I have some of her sculptures in my room, but they are the ones that she forgot in class or anywhere! —The pale boy snapped—. And I don't know what you think I did with her utensils, I don't know how to sculpt.
Jhin laughs again, barely audibly now, as if he knew that now he would have to act more vividly.
—And why were they in the box in your room? —Jhin asks him —, it even had remains of dry ceramics. Could it be that they were already used?
Hwei gritted his teeth, while his gaze met Jhin's again.
—That side of you… It's so peculiar. —He smiles —, I thought no one would see it, but you risk being seen in exchange for getting some things from (Name).
Hwei knew that darkness within his soul had awakened since the first day he saw you. And that darkness spread throughout his soul, mind and body, to the point that it seemed to consume all of his heart and mind.
—Your paintings were always warm colors —Jhin changed the subject, the smile disappearing from his face —, they were never about anything specific, but since you met that girl, something changed —He bowed gently in front of Hwei —. If it was about her, you focused on her in a way that made her seem pure, you used colors that highlighted her body or her emotion on her face. But she never looked at anyone —He subtly changed his focus —, she looked at the painter, or she didn't look at anyone, tell me, do you just want her to not look at anyone but you? Do you want her to the point that you don't want her to look at anyone but you?
He remained silent, in such a way that you could feel the weight of the words lingering in the air, causing an almost inexhaustible tension there. It was such that you could no longer hear the song of nature that you longed for so much.
—I won't criticize you, Hwei, you know that I understand better than anyone the dark feeling inside you —Jhin tried to sound empathetic —. And, if you want, I can help you make (Name) yours. I can make her fall in love with you and make that she can never leave you.
The obsessed young man understood how wrong it was to have those thoughts terrifying his mind, but he couldn't stop it, it was a feeling that had already taken root in his heart, and he couldn't tear it out no matter how much he wanted to.
—I can't… —Hwei whispered, his voice breaking —…, I don't want to harm her; She is so nice to me, I don't want to put her through all my feelings.
You heard him sob.
—You're not going to hurt her —Jhin comforts him, a hand running over his cheek —. I know you love her very much, and you notice how others hurt her. But, tell me, don't you think about those people really hurt her? —He subtly wipes away the tear that slipped down her face—. You should take care of those people, you know? So she could express her art as she loves it. Maybe she could even make thousands of statues without anyone to pressure her, and you could “borrow” them for yourself.
You had heard enough, you couldn't stay there for another minute.
However, before you could move, Jhin leaned close to Hwei's ear, his lips close to her loose strands of hair.
—Or you could take it right now, you know? This opportunity is perfect. —Jhin's mischievous smile spreads across his face.
Hwei opened his eyes to her peak, at the same time he heard a rope move abruptly.
And you felt your foot being pulled up, forcing you to hit your face against the ground, causing you to moan in pain.
—Shit. —You whispered, feeling your head spin, a small wound on your head began to make small drops of blood come out.
—That is…? —Hwei whispers, his heart sinking in his chest —(Name)..?

Holiday Pictures 2023! (part 2)
A continuation of my holiday pictures for friends on Twitter!
This one is for Luna! I’ve drawn her Yoshi character quite a long time ago, but this was my first time drawing her porcupine self. I’ve admired her artwork for a long while, so hopefully my style does the character justice.
For AtroxChobatsu, it’s the ever-toony Sarah N. Dippity! I had drawn her a few times before, but this time I put her in a situation that shows more toony expressiveness. Seems she’s attempted to slow her fall, but that umbrella she’s using doesn’t appear to have held up…
This one is for the also-very-toony Dingoroo! I remember him from way back in my DeviantArt days. His art style was and still is very cute! I tried to make Dingoroo in my own style here. Not sure what he’s planning to do with that large mallet…
For LE-the-Creator, it’s their character Veggie Sprigwort. A very neat character design for a plant person! I was worried it would be hard to draw her well, but it ended up coming together a lot smoother than I thought. Maybe I’m becoming an artist after all…
For RakkuGuy, it’s his little kobold character Coal! She’s becoming an aspiring hero in a webcomic series, “Monsters Can Be Heroes Too!” This look mostly pulls from the more recent artwork I’ve seen, including a tattered yet stylish cape.
For CosmicCartoons, it’s the Ceryvian known as Demi. Here he seems to be struggling with a strange puzzle originating from Earth. This alien species wouldn’t be too out of place in the “Last Soldier” universe, though I don’t know how often they and the Teijru would interact.
This one is for – and featuring – Chaz Serir. If you ever wondered what possessed me to make various alien characters over the last few years, this is who inspired that. Now you may be asking, “What is going on here?” And my response is “That is correct.”
Oh hey, these are my characters! The two Tokarus, Sketch Tucker and Heather Britannia, are holding onto each other as they travel to other universes. Perhaps the characters we saw are some of the folks they met along the way. Who knows?
This ended up being quite the undertaking. I'm not confident that I'll ever make this many images for a holiday again. Either way, I hope everyone likes them, and that everyone have a Happy Holidays!
EXTRA
Here is Stephano, another character made by NS-Games. I experimented with the design a bit in this image – the eye area has white fur, and I gave him the Big Pant with a nifty pattern along the outer legs. I wonder what he’s drawing on that tablet…
He makes some things under the name of “Deyem Productions.” I ended up sketching a logo design concept for the “Deyem” name. It’s not the first time I looked into it, but I thought this was an intriguing avenue to explore…

Part of the musician's reasoning for crafting a fictional narrative behind Angel Face is so he doesn't have to let listeners in on his real-life love again after "Until I Found You." "The only relationship I want people to care about is the one between the Troubadour and Evangeline," declares Sanchez. "As far as my relationship, I think I want to be the only one that thinks about it."
god i would sell a kidney to get this kind of content from taylor (folkmore did not do this lol) and for us to reach this point with her
i'm sorry it took me a few days to circle back to this - i just sent this article to a friend when i was recommending him! I LOVE A CONCEPT ALBUM, and i'm not surprised to read that it was ben schneider who convinced him to make the story a tragedy (lord huron is nothing if not spectacular at concept album tragic romances).
taylor is diaristic songwriter, but i really empathize with and understand where stephen is coming from here, especially being so young. he doesn't want that invasion into his personal life, and he shouldn't have to have that - no one should have to endure that to create their art. "I think it's so exciting that there's somebody beyond just me that they can attach themselves to."
i don't think i've ever talked about this, but when i was very young and dreamed for a bit about being a singer (again, i realize now i could not withstand that life), the dream that went with it was changing my name and only singing standards or fiction. i never wanted to be personally exposed, looking back on it i think i romanticized the idea of being a kind of enigma. (probably also a big part of my attraction to musical theatre.) and his approach to this is so fresh and unique, not only in its timelessness and homage to the classics, but the way he's crafted this whole tale and journey, and gotten listeners invested in the characters. it's so cool that he's even creating that world and story in his live performances. i do dream of taylor creating an entirely fictional world someday, be that on a self-contained record or in a dramatic sense (like a stage musical, if she ever wants to undertake that). her personal, revealing lyricism has long been considered a strength, but it's easy to imagine her switching that up again someday. (TS11 being fictional would be the best flex ever tbh. just deprive everyone of their gossipy tea. i know that won't happen, but i would love that for her.)
anyway, angel face is easily one of my favorite albums of the year and i hope he keeps receiving positive acclaim and attention.
i loved the conclusion of the pitchfork review: ‘Angel Face’ is not only a testament to Sanchez’s musicality now, but to the projected trail of success his talent will no doubt lead him on. “The story of Troubadour Sanchez is something I feel deeply connected to,” Stephen said in a statement accompanying the album. “Even if his ending was bleak, he lived life with an undeniable passion.” If undeniable passion is Sanchez’s medium of choice, ‘Angel Face’ is his first great oeuvre.
#and my stage name was#the other first name my mom considered giving me which has a lyrical quality#and her maiden name#angel face is just SUCH a marvelous album#anonymous#letterbox#stephen sanchez#thrown out speeches#(ish)

"Unmasked for One Person"
Summary: Ashley sees Kane unmasked. Much to his shock, she doesn't freak out over it and reassures him that she doesn't care what he looks like. 39th installment of Two Brothers, One Friend, Many Stories series. Kayfabe details used only.
On Ashley's first night back on WWF TV for this summer, the June 5th, 2000 episode of Raw, she was happy. Everyone in the live audience at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York had cheered for her as she accompanied Kane to the ring for a triple threat match against the Undertaker and the Rock for the number one contender to the WWF World Heavyweight Title. She was not to interfere at all, but she didn't mind. It was going to be hard to see her childhood playmates fight each other plus another individual, though she hoped it wouldn't last too long.
It wound up being the Rock who won and thus would face Triple H later that night. Ashley just sighed sadly after she and Kane had returned to the backstage area and went into the dressing room they had been using.
"You did great, Kane. Maybe it will be your night tomorrow when we film this week's Smackdown episode." Ashley had assured him as they both sat down on a sofa.
Kane hadn't said anything in response. Still, he would save any sort of violent retaliation until tomorrow night. Now, several hours later, they were in the hotel room they were staying in for tonight, and he had gone into the bathroom to wash his face and shave after removing his mask. He wound up cutting his right cheek and cursed. "FUCK!" It was a small cut but it still hurt.
"Kane, do you need a first aid kit?" Ashley called to him in a concerned tone from outside the door.
"Yes." Kane answered, having grabbed a tissue to stop the bleeding.
Ashley pushed the bathroom door open, a red plastic first aid kit in hand. She put it on the side of the bathtub and opened it, taking out a small bandage and some Neosporin after cleaning her hands off with some disposable hand wipes.
Kane noticed that she wasn't freaking out over his look as he removed the tissue and let her wash the small cut off before putting a bit of Neosporin on it and then the bandage over it. He then watched as she made sure the first aid kit was closed after she had put said Neosporin back in upon making sure the top was screwed onto the tube tightly and threw away the trash before leaving the bathroom. The Big Red Machine made sure that the rest of the shaving cream had been rinsed off of his face, threw away the disposable razor he had used, and took his mask out of the bathroom, setting it down on the table in the main part of the hotel room. Then he turned off the bathroom light, closed the door, and sat down next to Ashley on the bed closest to the window.
Ashley noticed that there wasn't very much visible scarring on Kane, and whatever was there had faded. Still, she knew that the mental scars from the fire were the biggest ones he had. She put her right arm around him. "Kane, I never wondered what you looked like after the fire. I only wondered if you were alive or dead. Scars or no scars, you're a hundred times sexier than Shawn Michaels could ever hope to be, and you are an amazing superstar." She was blushing as she said the second thing. It was still obvious that she was truthful, though.
"You really think that even with how monstrous I have been before. Only you could do that since you knew me before I became what I am now." Kane commented thoughtfully after a few moments of silence as he turned to look at her. "Maybe it is a good thing that you haven't changed too much since we were children." He wrapped both of his arms around her to give her a hug. It had been a rough night, and he really needed one.
Ashley returned the hug and held him close. "It's okay with me if you never let anyone else see you like this. Just wanted to remind you." She didn't have anything else to say.
Kane was well aware of that and didn't say anything in reply. He just held her for 5 minutes, which felt much longer, as he shed a few tears. Much like his half-brother, he was aware of what he could use his abilities for, even evil, and it was scary to think of at moments like this. Nonetheless, he pushed that thought aside; Ashley was aware of that as well and was accepting of it just as she accepted that he could never be the same as he had been before losing his mother and legal father. Mark is right that you do have a good heart and soul, Kane thought.
"I think we should get to bed soon if we want to eat breakfast in the room together before we check out in the morning." Ashley reminded him. "Are you going to want to do that?"
Kane nodded as they ended the hug. "Yes." He went over to the bed closest to the door and laid down on it, pulling the sheets over himself. Going without a mask around Ashley when they were alone in a private place would make having meals together much less awkward. He wasn't ready to go unmasked around her family or anyone else yet, but they would understand that.
"Okay." Ashley yawned. She turned off the lights after making sure the door was locked. Then she got into the other bed and put the sheets over herself. The alarm clock was already set, and she would be driving first in the morning. "Good night, Kane."
"Good night, Ashley." He replied.
Both fell asleep, hopeful that tomorrow would be better. They had no idea what would happen next, but they would get through it.

thank you all for looking at my horrible, maladjusted children. for every reblog, a random fact about one of them:
Oscar's mom didn't let him have pets as a kid, but he would sneak food to the crows that hang around the house because he read once on an animal fact card that crows remember faces and thought it was super cool. His sparrow skull pendant is repurposed from one of their gifts.
Rory spent so many hours learning how to do cool knife tricks as a teen it circled back around to being uncool.
Rory is a huge klutz idiot with the proportions of a Muppet whose dancing abilities can only be described as "straight-up hazardous". Please don't ask them how many injuries they took while trying to master their cool knife tricks.
Oscar has no idea how to act around a camera, to an almost comical degree. He physically cannot smile on command; the only reason the homecoming selfie turned out well was because he had already been smiling uncontrollably. Most pictures taken of him have him with the stiffest deer-in-the-headlights expression ever. If you put a blur filter over them and add eyeshine, they could be submitted as cryptid sightings.
Morgan is a big fan of professional wrestling. Elliot calls her “the Undertaker” as a joke sometimes because Morgan sounds like morgue, and because he likes to make fun of her being a wrestling fan in the same way she ribs him for liking NIN. To be clear, though, the Undertaker is not her favorite; she's much more invested in women's wrestling, thank you very much.
Morgan went to Hartford and is friends with Hannah, the MC from The Haunting of Braidwood Manor. I need her to have one other friend who has had her own encounters with the supernatural but just NEVER talked about them. Like, Morgan has MET Eleanor. She just thinks Eleanor is Hannah’s posh British girlfriend who went to boarding school and not, like, purgatory. On that note, she's also a fan of Kaitlyn's band. Everyone At Hartford Knows Each Other
Oscar and Noah are, at heart, a hater4hater relationship of Statler&Waldorf proportions. After Oscar gets brought back to life and they start dating, they develop a truly awful habit of hanging out in the corner of any fancy event that their friends dragged them to and spending the whole time quietly bitching with each other and snickering at their own jokes. Britney overhears them once and immediately turns to Lily with the saddest most pathetic wet cat eyes ever like OH SO THEY HAVE LICENSE TO BE CUNTS BUT I DON’T??? and Lily just pats her hand indulgently and tells her to put a dollar in the slur jar.
Once everything settles down, Ro has a field day catching Oscar up on all the memes and pop culture stuff that he missed during the four years he spent as a shadow monster. He’s a good sport about it, even if he still doesn’t really understand Tiktok. Rory, on the other hand, knows exactly what a Skibidi toilet is and would be happy to explain it to anyone who asks. Which, unfortunately, no one ever does.
Judith loves shitty romance novels. She says she only buys them for purposes of critique, but they're very transparently a guilty pleasure for her. She loves that trope where the romantic interest sees the protagonist injured and starts getting aggressively overprotective and the protagonist has to stand in front of them and hold their face and scream "NO JAKEY LOOK AT ME. LOOK AT ME. THIS ISN'T YOUR HEART" until Jakey stops foaming at the mouth. It's that private fantasy of being important enough to someone to tame the beast within them, you know? To wield that kind of power over another person. And then she coughs, blushes, and annotates that paragraph on her Kindle with the note "I hope Jakey dies". It's complicated.
Rory is, like, scary good at rhythm games. Sometimes they’d just zone out and enter a full Rhythm Gamer Trance state and everyone who sees it will be like “what the fuck”. They have a ton of mobile rhythm games on their phone that they’re pretty close to 100% FC-ing. They don’t have enough money to fund a gacha addiction, but it’s a close thing.
In an AU where Jane never died and she got to have a wedding of her own, she'd ask Oscar to be her best man and Noah to walk her down the aisle. Both of them cry like babies about this.
You know that one psych study where experimenters told participants to wait and entertain themselves for a while in a room with an electroshock machine and found that most men would shock themselves at least once during a 15-minute period because the negative stimulation was preferable to having to sit still doing absolutely nothing? Rory is not a man, but they are that one freak who shocked themselves 190 times because they just got that bored.
Don't ask me what happens to Oscar in the timeline where he lets Noah take Jane's place unless you want a 30 minute presentation on all the new and exciting disorders he will develop if left alone with his unfulfilled savior complex. And also the Cocomelon shit he's doing to Connor's heart, not even on purpose. On the bright side, however, he does get to watch Into the Spider-verse in theatres.
happy almost-september. in honor of fall please look at my it lives mcs
#everyone has been so kind in the tags <3 thank you it makes me feel like a proud papá#most of these are about oscar. jody only gets one. sorry for the blatant favoritism#secret mc directory#it lives

2023
The year that kept on giving and giving.
While not everything was great, I can confidently say that this year was overall positive for me, and thank god, since the last few months of 2022 left me so depressed and exhausted that I was legit pessimistic about recovering from it.
And I did.
Despite some lingering feelings, I'm happy to say that I'm mostly over it. I've chosen not to dwell on it anymore, and I accepted that I can't influence the thoughts of other people I have no control over. All I can do is...improve.....and I have. I've improved a lot this year. Which....actually, that WAS my new year's resolution for 2023, wasn't it? Just to get better? In that regard....can I be proud of myself....? I know it isn't much, but...
I have a lot to thank for making this a good year for me. My interests were VERY kind to me, from Eurovision being great this year, Helluva Boss releasing a LOTTA episodes including three that I absolutely adored, getting to fight on Team Shiver in Splatoon 3 and winning, ushering in the Era Of Shiver, and finally.....CRK continuing to not only be my comfort game all year, but then not only topping itself, but BLOWING MY MIND with releasing Golden Cheese and me reacting SO STRONGLY to her that I'm STILL r-reeling from it....o/////o
Not only that, but....I'm still writing. I can be proud of that, too.
I know things will never quite be the same as they were, but....that's fine. I'm still in a pretty good place.
Three characters that made my life better in 2023 (if you're reading this, did you have any?):
As for 2024....I have two goals for this year, but technically, one isn't all up to me right now, and it's more personal, so I'll save it for (hopefully) later when I'm ready to share.
And the other one is pretty simple, and that's just Finish The Damn Fic.
---You can stop reading here if you don't care about this topic---
Seriously, this thing has been an undertaking, and working on it DAILY since October has been both tiring and fun at the same time. At this point, even if no one reads it, it's gonna feel SO GOOD when it's all done. SOOOOO GOOD! >.< Like I said before: I don't think this'll be my fav fic I've written (Naivete is just so special to me), but it'll be the biggest project I've EVER put my name on. I don't wanna rush any part of it.......I wanna get it as good as I can.
Cuz....H-Her Radiance, she....d-deserves it....
Regarding the fic, for those who care, I have two bits of good news! One is that, according to the outline of the chapters I have yet to write and the number of scenes in each one.....I think- I THINK- I'm near the halfway point of the story. That, or I JUUUUUST reached it. I'm working on the longest chapter. Once I finish chapter 3, I have three more full chapters, and I think 4 and 5 are gonna be shorter chapters than 3, with 6 being definitely the shortest.
Which leads me to the other point: I'm coming up on a good stopping point for chapter 3. It isn't the ending I WANTED, but the chapter is just so big that I'm gonna have to stuff all my leftover ideas into chapter 4.
This means that, yes....in the next few days, you guys are getting the next chapters.
P-part of me is nervous about this, since....again, it isn't the ending I wanted....b-but I don't wanna wait to post until I finish the WHOLE NEW CHAPTER 4 I didn't plan for. I dunno how long that's gonna take, and....
Well, something I'm looking forward to is coming in a couple weeks, and I wanna enjoy that thing and give it my attention without stressing about the fic too much. I wanna post on AO3 sometime in January, then release the rest of the chapters as I finish them.
It's looking like 2024's gonna be starting out on a good note....I'm nervous, but excited at the same time.....>__<
I really hope that I'm ready for this.....
#lauri talks to herself#happy new year#seriously 2023 was great in many ways#heres hoping 2024 builds on it somehow

Love Like The Galaxy - Cheng Shaoshang & Ling Buyi (Episode 47-48)
This is the part where we should say "ick" but I said "YES!"
This red wedding birthday party was honestly one of the best things I've ever watched.
As a person Ling Buyi is a big NO but as a character he is so intriguing to watch. And since I am a viewer, I prefer watching interesting characters rather than painfully bland ones. I also like watching Anakin Skywalker and this doesn't mean I support child killers. As long as a character is written solidly, convincing from the start, it's a feast for my soul.
We always talked about how great his love is, but let me tell you this. Shaoshang's love for him is never less than his. Even though she knew that he was going to do something outlaw or commit treason, even though he kept her in the dark until the end and broke his promise, she was ready to die with him. Also I love the fact that she sees him as her family, that's why she wanted her family to help and they accepted to be a part of the rescue mission. Like he said once, Cheng family is his family too and all her family acknowledges this truth.
I think this view was the reason that she couldn't turn her back to him despite the fact that he betrayed their trust bond.
He might not tell her everything but she saw what he was going through. That decisive, powerful, cold-blooded man was on knees, desperately screaming, consumed with sadness. She found him when he was in his weakest form, felt his pain like her own. Also, you know, she has been wronged throughout her whole life, she knows very well that it is not easy to overlook injustice, especially if it's about a whole city where many people's lives were lost.
He was so close to telling her everything, maybe it was because he knew that there was no way to establish justice anymore. But the fact that his mother/aunt was dying changed everything.
That pitiful woman was the last thorn in his heart and she reminded him what his mission was. With her death, he realised that he couldn't back down from this road. This was the moment he knew he had no choice, because if he had chose to move on, those people would have never found peace in other world. He was pitiful too, because he had to undertake this responsibility which absolutely would drag him into the darkest path.
LBY: If I do something that shakes the world one day, would you still feel the same for me? CSS: Your mother's coffin is here. I'm willing to swear an oath before her. Spirits of the ancestors and divine deities as my witness. I, Cheng Shaoshang hereby make an oath that Ling Buyi and I will never walk away from our love in this life. If he doesn't leave me, I shall never forsake him. I swear on my will. I will not regret in this life.
Just look at his face when she said “If he doesn't leave me, I shall never forsake him.”
She clearly stated that as long as he didn't leave her, she would never leave him. Also he remembered her words. "If someone hurts a person close to me, I won't forgive them. I'll return the pain 1,000 fold back to them”, "No matter what happens, I'll always stand on your side.” He knew that she loves him so much that she could go all the way with him. That she could understand him no matter how wrong his way was. And since he loves her so much as well he couldn't bear to drag her into his painful road. That’s why he chose to leave her and did not say anything when she asked if he had anything to tell her.
Also probably this memorial scene is where he killed Ling Buyi persona and left all his promises he made when he was LBY behind.
Yes, all those scenes were enough for me to cry for eternity, but this killed me most. She still gave him another chance, hoping that he would choose another way. But he didn't and her hurt was unbearable to watch. Offf.
Remember this. My last name is not Ling. My last name is Huo. Call me Huo Wu Shang.
This. Is. Brutal. He killed him slowly, saying his whole name syllable by syllable. He made sure that his uncle would be aware of the truth while dying.
He ruined his future, his life, his soul. After this, probably we will watch if it's worth it. Soo... more pain and angst. But I enjoy suffering and pain thanks.

The Bible in a Nutshell
“The Bible in a Nutshell”, by Casper Rigsby
Introduction
If you've ever read the whole Bible you are well aware of just how big this book is. With an estimated word count of well over 700,000 words, the book is not an undertaking for the casual reader. In addition to the lengthiness of the book it can also be a very tedious and boring read as well. This turns many people off to wanting to commit any time to understanding the foundational doctrine of Christianity.
However, as atheists we really need to have at least a basic understanding of the Bible if we are going to make a judgment call about the religion. You see, no matter which sect of Christianity someone subscribes to the Bible is the foundation of Christian belief. So what I offer here is a mere 7,000 words to tell a slimmed down version of the basic story of the Bible. I've tried to make it humorous and something that could be fun to read.
I've stripped away all the philosophy and metaphor and simply offered the story as it is in its most basic form. Because of this, what I offer here is more a literary critique and artistic rendering than a theological examination. What I want to focus on is the narrative rather than any underlying allegory or metaphor inherent in the narrative. And what I want the reader to ask themselves is if this story is actually believable or not. I want to challenge the notion of biblical literalism by showing the story in its most basic form is simply too fantastic for any rational person to believe it as fact.
You see, if the story broken down to its most basic form doesn't make sense, it won't make more sense if you just complicate it by throwing in even more outrageous claims. I think by the time the reader finishes this story they will come to an understanding of just how silly biblical literalism truly is.
--
Forward
What I'm going to offer here is a bit of blasphemy, or at least in the eyes of Christians it is. This is the story of the Bible broken down into sheer simplicity. Broken down and simplified in this manner it becomes abundantly apparent just how ridiculous the whole thing is. I hope you enjoy.
In The Beginning
In an alternate dimension outside of space and time lives the most powerful wizard ever known. He's so powerful that he can speak things into existence. One day he is sitting around bored and thinks, "Let me make myself some other beings that can bask in the glory of how awesome I am." So he spent six days thinking and speaking the whole universe and everything in it into existence. Then he took a nap, because that was a lot of talking to do.
One of the many things the wizard, let's call him The Wiz, created was people. He made people extra special out of dirt like a mud golem to look and think like him. Basically like little The Wiz dolls. But at first it's just this one dude named Adam and he's very lonely and bored. So The Wiz rips out one of Adam's ribs and says, "Alakadabra!" and the rib turns into another person. But this person has nipples that actually serve a purpose.
So The Wiz sets these two up with a sweet little place in a garden with everything they could ever need and then says, "Oh, by the way, I created a tree in that garden that will kill you. Just to spice things up a bit, ya know. Don't eat the fruit off that tree."
Well one day a talking snake shows up and sees the person with the functioning nipples, her name was Eve, and says, "You simply must try the fruit on that one tree! It's divine!" So she does and she shares it with Adam because it's very tasty and instead of dying they just get smarter and notice they're naked. So they hide when The Wiz comes back around, because of being naked and all, and The Wiz immediately knows something is wrong. So he says, "What the fuck guys? I told you not to eat that fruit. Now I'm going to have to kick you out of the garden."
So they get kicked out and The Wiz is double pissed at Eve so he makes her menstruate and makes childbirth really painful for her. They have two boys named Cain and Abel, which end up fighting because The Wiz likes meat better than vegetables and Cain kills Abel. So The Wiz sends Cain to live in some weird land called Nod and he finds a wife there and does his thing. In the meantime, Adam and Eve have many more children and a couple thousand years go by in which the earth fills up with people.
When it Rains it Pours
Now it's thousands of years later and for some reason no one is worshipping The Wiz, which really makes him angry since he made these people specifically to glorify himself. There's this one guy named Noah though who still thinks The Wiz is super awesome. So The Wiz tells Noah, "Build a big boat and put two of every animal on the boat along with your family because I'm fixing to drown all these other assholes." Noah builds the boat and the animals come. He packs up his family and then The Wiz sets about flooding the whole world and drowning everyone. POOF - now you're a corpse. Neat trick.
After about a month and a half, once The Wiz was sure everyone was good and dead, he makes the flood waters recede some and Noah sends a dove who fetches a branch from a tree that somehow withstood the torrential floods and let's Noah know there is land ho. Noah lands the boat on a mountain, because screw you physics, he's got a wizard for a bff. Then The Wiz pops a rainbow into the sky and tells Noah that this is a sign that he won't murder everyone in that particular fashion again, because The Wiz likes to keep you guessing.
So Noah and his family repopulate the earth (let's try to gloss over the incest part). Eventually this guy Abraham comes on the scene and The Wiz really takes a liking to this dude. The Wiz tells Abraham that he's doing a super awesome job worshipping The Wiz, but unfortunately Abraham is going to need to murder his son Isaac because The Wiz likes blood. Abraham says, "Sure thing", and proceeds to carry this out. At the last minute The Wiz sends one of his personal minions to stop Abraham and tell him that The Wiz was just pranking him. Haha! Almost made you kill your kid!
Turn by Turn Mis-navigation
So we flash forward a bit more and one of Abraham's descendants named Moses gets tossed in a basket and thrown into a river. He floats to Egypt and gets found by some of pharaoh's folks who think he's cute and adopt him. But it turns out that Pharaoh has captured all the descendants of Abraham called the Jews and enslaved them. When Moses grows up and realizes he's a Jew, The Wiz tells him that Pharaoh needs to let these people go. The Wiz tells Moses to go to Pharaoh and ask him to release the Jews, but when Moses does this The Wiz has put Pharaoh under hypnosis or something and Pharaoh refuses. So The Wiz sends plagues and murders all the firstborn in Egypt to teach Pharaoh not to fall for The Wiz using magic to make him intentionally obstinate.
Eventually Moses gets all the Jews out of Egypt, but Pharaoh sends troops after them. They get to the Red Sea and they're stuck, but then Moses says, "The Wiz taught me a trick" and he pounds a walking stick on the ground. The sea splits in two and all the Jews walk over to the other side. The Egyptian troops try to follow them and The Wiz makes the sea fall back on them and drown them. POOF - now you're a corpse. (That trick is getting old)
So now Moses and the Jews are free and The Wiz tells them he has a special place for them to live. But before they can get there Moses has a one on one with The Wiz and is given a bunch of rules for how to properly worship The Wiz. When Moses goes to tell all the Jews the new rules, they've made a cow out of gold and are worshipping it.... because hamburgers!
Moses gets all huffy and throws down the rocks he wrote the rules on and breaks them. The Wiz is pretty peeved about the whole cow worship thing too so he makes everyone confused about how to walk a straight line and causes them to wander around on like 40 acres of desert for 40 years. They finally find the place they're supposed to live but Moses doesn't get to live there because The Wiz is fickle like that.
To Be Continued...
So that basically wraps up the Old Testament and the whole Jewish thing. In the next segment I'll break down the New Testament and the story of this Jesus fellow.
==
Enjoy an amusing romp through the crazy world of the bible.
Along the way, realize how much of it is empty filler.

I just read the entirety of the current build, and wow, this is one of the strangest WIPs I've ever read (positive).
The setting is absolutely fascinating, and I love Faren and Kal so much I don't even know how to express it! They are both so awesome! I also like the MC's personality a lot. A MC with a somewhat set personality can be very hit or miss obviously, but it's a big hit in this case, since clearly their personality allows for interesting growth. The way we can still fine-tune their mindset and what they value is also a nice thing. Like mine is bold and sarcastic, but cares a lot about people and always thinks before acting and tries to negociate before fighting.
I did encounter two situations I think were bugs though. Like I said, my MC is very charismatic and has a silver tongue - that's what I've been focusing on every time it was possible. But in two instances, it seems the game considered my MC isn't charismatic? - The first one, I'm not sure if it's a mistake or not, but if it isn't, it seems a bit out of character: when playing the truth or fiction game with Reva in chapter 2, I've picked the option to tell the truth hoping to fool her into thinking it's fiction, but she figured it out - I think it's an instance where a charismatic MC should be able to fool her, right? And also, slightly unrelated, but when she figures it out she says "That's fact. The blush on your face says it all.". But would she notice that with the very unique lighting coming from the bioluminescence? And even then, on darker skintones it would be invisible anyway, most likely. - Second instance is a bug for sure: during the hilenite fight in chapter 5, but this one is evidently some sort of coding error. If I try to taunt the leader, no matter if it's on the attack or the evade path, I have this:

Considering this is my MC's specialty, it should have worked? I mean, the fact the game says "it's never worked for you before" doesn't make sense. This is a screenshot from the Evade path, but on the Attack one it's the same issue.
Oh and also, there's a typo (or well, some stray code, rather) here:

That aside, a few theories I have, because why not:
The whole rot theme makes sense since, judging by the name of the "gods" they are related to fungi and thus, rot is part of it.
MC's nightmare with their mother is a memory, not a mere nightmare, and whatever she did to the MC in that memory, it "protects" them against the "gods". A lot of fungi are parasitic and I think the bond people make with gods is basically the gods being parasites that control their hosts to a degree. The MC must have some sort of protection against that now.
The "flowers" the MC has to interact with and is supposed to "feed" with their blood are all part of a huge interconected organism linked to the gods, and this is what the "path" is. Normally, I guess the nutrients from the person's who undertakes the Path blood probably create some sort of reaction of revitalization that makes more "flowers" (or whatever) bloom alongside the "veins" that link the organism, until they reach the core of it where the actual "gods" are. But since the MC is poisonous to them, the blood produces a decay instead. But since these veins are present anyway, the "Path" - as in, the visual representation - is still visible, but doesn't appear as it should since what should be revitalized dies instead.
The sheen over the grass and various other elements of the story make me think these "gods" are vulnerable to metal in general, and that whatever the MC does now is somehow related to that.
The character other than the MC that we can name seems to appear as "Vein" on the character screen before you set a name for them... It's uncannily the same word that the one I was thinking about when I was trying to understand the Path, and that sort of lead me to think they may be one of the "gods", or at the very least a "byproduct" of sorts. Also, the way they are described as so beautiful and what not is similar not only to the description of the entity in MC's dreams (and rejecting the entity lowers their relationship score, besides), but also to the way the entity in Kal's "dream" was described.
That leads me to wonder if Kal didn't already "bond" with a "god" in the past. I somehow feel like they came in contact with something they shouldn't have, and they fell victim to the parasite. That could explain why they were in favor to the stranger joining - if said stranger is indeed a "god" or part of that organism, Kal may not be able to refuse them, physically.
Aaand I think that'll be it! I'm not expecting you to answer to my theories of course, but I hope you at least find them entertaining. I rarely think so deeply about all implications and possible reasons behind what's happening in a story (more often than not, I'm just in for the ride and enjoy), but this is really too fascinating not to think more deeply about.
This is honestly super helpful, I won't say anything about the theories for reasons but I love hearing them anyways.
For the charisma bugs (including lying to Reva because there was already a variation in there), I am a fool who types too fast and has a peppering of $charimsa variables in my code. They should be fixed by today.
As for the MC with semi-set personality... As much as I want players to be able to have agency over who their heir is, I think for the purpose of character growth and developing relationships, there are some things that do need to be set. Like the fact that the heir has grown up having to prove themselves. Or the way their relationships with their mentors/parents shaped them.

hey. top 3 funniest things that happened at the shelter? 👀
Well hello there fellow equally-as-sick-of-serving-customers person, thanks for the ask and I hope your definition of funny is someone being miserable cuz I love telling these stories when I'm near blackout drunk :D I'm gonna try to keep this short (I failed.)
Number 3; The time when a herding yamper herded a whole herd of herd Pokemon inside the fucking shelter!
> It's a beautiful night, where I have not lost to the temptations of the internet and am actually sleeping for once.
I woke up to a phone call, a newbie trainee that only says 'I fucked up. I fucked big time.' so what do I do? Of course I haul my ass there as fast as possible.
There, I see a VERY proud old yamper, asking for treats. And the inside of the shelter, filled with VERY confused mareep, wooloo, Taurus, and many more heard animals.
Yeah. I didn't got any sleep that night.
Number 2; The time I got decked out by a kangaskhan joey!
> A little info since it seems like it's not common knowledge: kangaskhan don't hatch out of the egg with a baby in their pouch. They hatch as the blue baby. The Pokemon Kangaskhan is one of the few Pokemon that change while growing up without evolving. They are herd animals and they take care of every joey instead of just their own. If a baby kangaskhan has a smaller baby in their pouch, it's probably belongs to someone else and it's babysitting till the mother comes back.
Now back to the story. It's my vacation day so I'm just chilling at home. My liepard sleeping and purring on my lap as I'm watching some cartoons (don't judge me) and eating a fruit salad drizzled in honey. Then, I get a call from some volunteers asking me to come because a baby kangaskhan just hatched and it doesn't look right.
Well, now my fruit salad is left to my Pokemon as I go to the shelter. Hoping it's just a shiny instead of disfigurement. I made my way there and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the baby, they just didn't know that's how kangaskhan looked freshly hatched. Well, I can't get angry at a bunch of teenagers for not knowing shit.
Something you need to know about baby kangaskhan is they don't handle being alone/not being in a pouch very well, especially when they are REALLY young. It triggers their fight-or-flight instinct. But, well, it just hatched moments ago so I'm not worried as I pull out the mock pouch from the closet.
Well, I SHOULD have been worried because the moment I crouched down next to it, the joey decked me in the face.
I don't remember much of the moment since I was dazed and laying on the ground. I just remember someone screaming, my froslass freaking out, and even more yelling from the baby kangaskhan cuz it was panicking with all the chaos around.
So, yeah, the rest of the 4 days she spent in the shelter before we could send her to an another shelter that had an adult without a baby, she didn't leave my side. I had to bring her home and I couldn't even remove my apron with the mock pouch attached to it cuz she would get really sad and give me big wet baby eyes until I picked her up again.
So lucky she had an easy time parting with me when we introduced her to an adult lol
Number 1; the time I ACTUALLY got to punch a customer!
>This is my favorite ^w^
As always, the story starts with me being called in by an inexperienced employee while I'm on my lunch break and he nervously says they have a customer problem. Well, that's what managers are for so I abandon my lunch to my Sceptile and get back to the shelter.
I go in and the first thing I notice is the smell of alcohol in the air. That's never a good sign. I hear some commotion near the nursery (we have 2, one for eggs/newly hatched Pokemon and one for baby Pokemon) with the eggs/newly hatched Pokemon in. That nursery that is looked over by Undertaker the Chandelure (who I mentioned before)
I walk there with my Sceptile, and lo and behold, a grown-ass man is throwing a tantrum. I mean the kind that where they hit the walls and screech on top of their lungs kinda shit. A teenage girl which just started volunteering 2 days ago is sobbing near the door.
The other volunteer fills me up on the situation as I checked up on the teenager. Apparently, he was angry that we didn't let him adopt Undertaker the Chandelure who is an employee that stays full-time. I calm the girl down and send her away then turn to the man.
I try to calm him down and tell him that if he doesn't calm down we are going to have to escort him out of here which is just a kinder way of saying we are gonna kick him out.
He doesn't calm down, at all. Hell, me saying he needs to calm down just makes him angrier so like a responsible and sensible adult, he punches the nursery window and that starts a ruckus inside, and send the poor Undertaker darting left and right, trying to calm the newborns down.
So, right now I'm dealing with an immature 50-year-old drunk man that has the personality of an entitled toddler. Then, the cherry on top; he tries to grab me.
So, with both the cameras and witnesses on my side, I punch him down <3 Sure, fight or flight kicked in but I didn't even get a ticket for attacking someone so that's good <3
After that my Sceptile pins him to the ground, the cops are called, etc. Etc. But the best part is I got to punch down a customer so focus on that I put years of frustrating customer service into that right hook <3 <3 <3 was that a bad example to the other? Yes. Could I have handled it better? Yes but I didn't ^w^
Thanks for the ask again! This was so fun to tell :D

☕ If you haven't read them that's fine, but... Do you have any thoughts about The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir? (Gideon the Ninth, etc). (And if you haven't read them, highly recommended!)
oh FRIEND, you're in luck! the locked tomb was my Big Readthrough for this year, the first time i've made it through a bunch of big complicated fiction books in a long time. (for years, most of my reading has either been sub-book length, one-off novellas, or non-fiction.)
anyway. my thoughts are that i love it very very much. i was recommended it several times over by people who basically said "you, specifically, should read these books" and i consider it the highest compliment. what surprised me was how they wound up being NOTHING like the vibes i had encountered online suggested to me before picking them up myself. for a start, i was initially kinda less enthusiastic because i thought they were straightforward romance genre crossover books (as in, romance in the genre sense, not just 'people experience romance in them'), and uhhh well i would not call them that, LMAO. also YA? again, these are… not YA books. no idea where that comes from.
a lot of the stuff i really loved about these books is more on the structural side of things, honestly. they're incredibly huge undertakings in that regard, really ambitious not just in expansive worldbuilding or lore but in how they are written. very maximalist in many different directions; the prose is maximalist, the idea of each book being a different genre crossover is a maximalist one… the degree to which each book reads differently on every reread following the first readthrough, THEN also after the readthroughs of the next books in the series. they are books that are so FULL that picking them apart feels overwhelming. personally, that's my jam. so i love it. they are supremely confident books, and that makes it work. i think even a little more nervousness would have rendered them unreadable, tbh. i can't imagine an author less confident pulling off the trick of harrow the ninth's narration, for example. you have to believe you can pull it off and not get sheepish for something that gutsy to work.
they're books i hope to pick apart to see how they tick and potentially learn something about good writing craftmanship from. the way that narrative voice in particular is used to distinguish (and obfuscate!) character within narration itself is really just so good. i really think anyone looking for books to pull apart to learn writing from couldn't do better. because again: they do EVERYTHING. that's not to everyone's taste for reading, but as writing to analyse, cannot beat it in modern SFF.
(for anyone wondering, my fave character is gideon and has been since like, the third page. LMAO. she is my dirtbag sad funny daughter and i would Die for her. but i also love ianthe, who i would have been horribly in love with as a nerdy sixteen year old, god bless.)

Knowing more about Sergei Grinkov♡

The phrase "was quite complex in nature" catches my attention. During these days I have been reading the written press during the 80s about Sergei. (Gordeevaru.com)
Katia tells in her book that Sergei had no problem making friends, that he was a person with a good sense of humor and a person with a very good heart.
Katia also says that Sergei loved to read and could spend hours reading. He recommended books like Margarita and the teacher... ( those that were available in the soviet union) which are books where the protagonists undertake an emotional journey. When the protagonists begin they are innocent people and without any idea of life, to end up transforming into totally new people due to the difficulties.

She also mentions that he loved contemporary music and felt rejection by figures like Stalin, he felt that the change was not taking place well. Which shows me that he was a person ahead of his time. In one of the interviews they ask him his opinion on the situation and he gives his point of view, expressed incredibly well, to which the journalist replies that he is an idealist.
This would clarify what alexey urmanov thinks of him. Or what the coaches said about him, that despite being a person with a big heart, he was a very clueless person and that he could not take seriously the terrifying Soviet teachers who scolded him at school more than once.
He preferred to laugh and smile rather than publicly disparage the love that others felt for a monotonous life, being a slave to an ancient system of ruined states that was in its last days.
He was a dreamer, a globetrotter, and a person who had high hopes for the future of his country.
You were not weird, you were not complex in nature, you were not an idealist, ANGEL YOU WERE AHEAD OF YOUR TIME...🦋
Rest in peace, Dear Seriozha Grinkov🦭💖

I wanna hear your thoughts specifically on the part in aits when chapman says to Antigone he doesn’t get why the protagonist doesn’t just confess her feelings and Antigone can’t respond
Okay so I have been thinking about this ALL day, I hope I've retained most of my thoughts at this point.
So the big thing that colors this interaction that I don't know where I stand is Does Chapman know Antigone has a crush on him? Because there are instances where she'll say something horny and he'll just go "um, ok" but thats the most acknowledgment we get. He's either incredibly dense or incredibly insensitive.
Chapman is a very shallow and inconsiderate person and he's never really had to grow from that because he's good looking and he has enough surface level charm that he can get away with it (could come up w an argument that this mf is also autistic but I won't get into it now). He admires Antigone a lot but it's at a basic "what a great artisan" level. His reaction this episode was very similar to the S1E7 episode where Antigone asks if he would care if she left the island and he just tells her he think it's a great idea! He has to come to terms with the fact he's not exactly the perfect people person he thinks he is in the Sunshine Treatment and that's why he has a meltdown because when he's making these insights to Antigone, she should seek her fortune, this character she relates to should confess, he thinks he's being helpful but he doesn't actually know how to be genuinely helpful because he doesn't see other people's problems.
So I don't think he really acknowledged she had a crush on him. He's far too direct to phrase it like that and even in Undertakers Underground he couldn't fathom why the Funns hate him, he's not sharp enough to pick up on that. But Antigone is and she can feel personally attacked by this (she's an empath.)
Maybe I should make another post for this part but this reminded of why I don't find Antigone's "epiphany" at the end of the episode particularly triumphant. She hasn't actually pushed herself out of her comfort zone by the end of the episode, if anything she's back slid a bit. She doesn't finish the play and she doesn't confess her feelings. It's sad. She talks about her feelings through the medium of the play which doesn't translate to Chapman because he's too dense to see that. I know a lot of people see her feelings for Chapman as something that holds her back but seeing romantic and sexual feelings as an anchor weighing you down is a really boring take for me. I can count four seperate times Antigone gets hit on in this show and she shoots them all down she's not undesirable and she's not exactly desperate in a way she'll take anyone. She spent 17 years in her mortuary until Chapman gave her a reason to leave, whether it's the rivalry or the lust like that's why she starts going out more.
I think it's unlikely Antigone will ever confess and yeah I think it's sad. It may be more realistic for someone to just bottle up a crush until those feelings go away but it's sad nonetheless. I think the real triumph and growth comes from the following episodes where she can now talk to him like a person and getting that shame out of the way. Kind of like burning down a forest so new growth can come through.

Do you think you maybe do overreact on occasion? I understand you're struggling mentally and trying to find the reasons for that, but you are very harsh on your mom. Would it feel good to you if she held you to the same standard of perfection that you do her, and then raged at you for every slip up? Your reactions just, sometimes are a bit overblown in general. Not just with your mom, with inconveniences at work which we all have to deal with. Which is fine but then you go around and harshly blame everyone else for things which are in the grand scheme of things really not that big of a deal and really just a part of being an imperfect human sometimes. We all find our moms annoying sometimes. For example, your mom with the khaki pants, my mom is the same way and it's because she wants me to wear clean presentable clothes. That is normal for a mom and my friends' moms are all the same as well! She wasn't even being rude about it, she was offering to let you borrow hers. You sound like you are very mean to her though. Does she call you names, yell at you, antagonize you and swear at you for making minor errors the same way you do to her? If I ever spoke to my mother like that, she would have kicked me out in an instant. You should honestly be grateful that she hasn't thrown you out on the street yet, because I'm honestly shocked she hasn't given the way you treat her. You literally said on here 'this must be why her husband had to beat her' which is so vile and unforgiveable that I have no idea why nobody even called you out for it. I also recall that a few months ago you told a hate anon their rape was karma or something like that. You can't treat people like that and then fly into a rage over the mildest indiscretions they commit against you, it's like you expect understanding and support for your flaws and emotional issues no matter how severe but if anyone else is even slightly imperfect you feel immensely victimized and self-righteous in dishing out abuse and condemnation. The only even remotely valid thing you cite as a reason to despise her is that her husband was abusive, and your anger is still directed at the wrong person in that case. You don't get to use her as an emotional punching bag just because your life hasn't panned out the way you wanted. I'm currently undertaking a clinical placement specializing in counselling for recovering domestic abusers and the way you talk is identical to some of my hyperfragile, sullen, crybully clients. You have a toxic victim complex. And please do not weaponize your personality disorder against your mother as another thing to criticize her for - you are choosing to behave this way because you think you have a right to, not because she is making you.
Honestly I just read all this and it genuinely feels like my only option is to kill myself. I'm trying. I'm doing everything I can. I am literally being buried at work and being blamed for other people leaving rheir trash behind, being blamed that I can't get enough done per shift when I don't even have enough shelves to put things out on because managers are having people do one single thing a whole shift
I go home and I can't even get basic apologies. I have never been apologized to for so many things.
I'm trying. If I'm trying this hard and I'm still so unforgivable and awful then there really is no hope for me. This was all for nothing. All these years were for nothing.
