Shiny Toedscool Line

I got sick of trying to spot Shiny Flabebé in outbreaks because my vision is bad apparently and went off to hunt these two instead! I used some Herba Mystica and was just barely able to find them both with one sandwich!

I caught a shiny Toedscool and it was probably my absolute favorite experience in that province of Paldea. Thank you @lucensspem1414 for being there for that shiny hunt with me.

I have two shiny toedscool from a mass outbreak. I got lucky and found two shiny toedscool and was going to evole one. But then an outbreak of toedscool happened-so why not hunt for the other. It was a pretty quick hunt and now I'm thinking to just give away the extra one.

Review shiny toedskool line?

Toedscool: Monotone shinies for Pokemon whose original designs weren't monotone aren't terribly common, mostly because it removes any contrast the original design might've had. That said, it does work really well here; partially because the design was very simple to begin with and partially because there are dozens of white mushroom species, which makes it work on a conceptual level as well.

It also helps that the shiny stands out a lot from the original due to the loss of pink and yellow, making it easy to snap identify. The subtle use of grey (hard to see in the above image, but trust me, it's there) also helps prevent details like the spots getting lost.

Toedscruel: I kind of would've liked to see Toescruel keep the monotone white, both because it looks good and because it works conceptually; plus it would be a bit more consistent, as the regular forms share a palette (minus the addition of black on Toedscruel). However, this shiny still looks pretty good; it's once again easy to tell apart from the original, and pink and black always look good together.

My only nitpicks are that I wish the tip of the mouth was white, as all of the pink areas on the original became white except for that one single spot. Also, I kind of wish a slightly lighter pink had been used for higher contrast with the black areas, maybe just fading into the neon hot pink towards the tips of the legs, as this feels just a smidge eye-strainy to me. Regardless, some pretty good shinies overall, with Toedscool being the better of the two.

FINALLY !!! I had so much trouble finding her. I tried in a first mass outbreak but had no luck so I tried in another one and found her quite quickly !

This was an absolutely insane entry I made for a Victini contest. For context, Victini had failed to be the chosen pokemon many many times. Even when it had a 3/4th chance of being randomly spun. All the pokemon at the top were pokemon that got chosen over it, and art styles of the winners! Replicating the styles was definitely the hardest part. I won 2nd Place in "Wild Card".

A Summer's Worth of Photos

Because I got so busy with schoolwork, I didn't have time to write any new articles for this blog. My album is bursting with screenshots I've been collecting them for nearly half a month.

Now that I'm free, I should get back to the things that I really enjoy.

AUGUST 2ND

I went back to playing Pokémon Violet today. I trained. But I also started to work harder on completing my Paldea Pokédex. I'm catching certain species within the country and transferring others from older games. If I work hard enough, I should be finished before mid-September.

Apparently, I can Terastallize more than one Pokémon in battle. (As if...)

After I was done training, I tried to build up my collection. I made use of the mass outbreak near Medali Town and caught a Persian near the gym.

A Persian in Medali Town seems like a familiar sight...

My next target was a shiny Toedscool. Because of an incident that happened a few minutes after the last screenshot, I thought I wouldn't find one. But with some perseverance, I eventually caught it.

I seem to be getting a lot of critical catches in this game. I guess it must be because of all the Pokémon I caught.

I should continue writing in another blog post...

daily shiny haul

today marks the 30th day of drawing daily shinies! a whole month! wild how time flies lol but it's been sooo much fun idk how long it'll take me to complete my living dex but I'm certainly in no rush and am fully enjoying the ride ^^

today I found and caught Toedscool, Skiploom, Capsakid, Dewpider, Slakoth and Slaking!
