So I'm putting my hand in permanent break time till Thursday/Friday where I lock in for my merch stuff, so for the time being, I will yap like always, so no difference actually.

I'm so tired of the OP and Bumblebee merch, it's always number one (understandably). I don't know if anyone else is tired of it, but I for sure am for the past many years I've been into TF. Like I'm looking at the Bumblebee popcorn bucket for the TF ONE movie and it's cute but PLEASEEEE IDGAF 😭 I ALREADY GOT OP'S HEAD FROM UNIVERSAL AS A DRINK BOTTLE

Maybe it's just me being a huge Decepticon fan and Bumblebee's #1 opp, like he should be afraid of me, I hate him. Actually I don't even know if I can say that, he's very cute with the horns from G1. But I am so sick of the OP and BB favoritism, but I know they're super popular with the kids, it's just...... Where's the Megatron merch at least 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 He is the antagonist!!! He is OP's opp!! Am I wrong to believe he also deserves merch, even for the merch that's targeted for kids...... Is it because they don't have enough of a budget to sell 3 characters and so they picked doofus and dorkus over hero and villain...

I kind of wanna go more on general TF merch and how much I'm tired of the G1 recycling, but I also feel like half of a fan so I don't really think I could say much on it anyways (TFP fan here hi, I do like Animated too and watched RID2015. Important word is "watched"). I do wanna kind of talk about collecting again because I do want to kind of go back to collecting TF merch, but it's just kind of hard because I'm picky, but that's a discussion for another time. Unless I did already discuss it then nevermind...

➢ neji would be pretty curious about it, but he tries not to ask too many questions so he doesn't come off as overbearing. is that your clan symbol? how long have you had that for? did it hurt?

➢ i think a part of him would feel a bit...weird about it. like you both have symbols of your respective clans etched onto your skin, but instead of it being a source of pride—neji's is a reminder of his status of inferiority and the fact that he can be tortured to death should he ever disobeyed. the irony isn't lost on him.

➢ he doesn't voice any of those thoughts outloud, especially if the relationship is still relatively new. if you two have been together for years, then he might allude to it during a moment of vulnerability,

➢ neji would listen to any lore surrounding it, with your head laying on his chest. and at night, he would sometimes run his fingers over the dried ink—finding it to be relaxing.

➢ a bit nsfw but i just know that he would be sure to kiss it during sex. and once more after all is said and done and you're wrapped in his arms.

You’ve talked about the post credits scene a bit, but what are your thoughts on the elixir being called “The Heart of the Dragon?”

Ohhhhh ive seen people talking about this quite a bit lately, especially on other platforms it's so aughhhh

I will say first of all that that was so crazy of them. I'm gonna be completely honest, initially during the whole elixir-hunt ordeal I didn't even consider that it could be connected to Kiryu at all, so when they just casually dropped the fact that it was called The Heart of the Dragon it was like getting slapped in the face (/pos). It makes you immediately think of Kiryu, to make Sure that you get the full impact of the big reveal at the end of the game, which. OUCH. Well played RGG you really got me there (Yeah I know most people seeing this will probably be like "no shit lmao subtle foreshadowing" but I personally am still reeling over it okay so)

Also I think it's a little crazy how Majima doesn't fully regain his memories until after fighting the giant squid again (which is basically right before they discover the treasure). Of course who knows when he finally regained the memory of his purpose for going to Hawaii, but to have him finally remember everything, only to learn almost immediately after that they probably weren't going to find the Heart of the Dragon, the dream that he, too, has been chasing after from the very start like everyone else... damn.

(Throwing in these screenshots. For no particular reason of course. (Nobody knows!! Nobody fucking knows that he was looking for The Heart of the Dragon for his own personal reasons too (even if he wasn't aware of it at the start of the game)!!!!! Grah!!!!!!!))

And Then of course the big part that people have been pointing out: just the fucking name itself. That, because of the elixir's name, Majima has essentially been chasing after/pursuing "The Heart of the Dragon" this whole time WHICH. IM GONNA BE REAL I FEEL LIKE A FOOL FOR NOT THINKING ABOUT. LIKE, FUCK. I don't even have anything to add to that honestly that just speaks volumes on its own. rgg really just went "yeah, Majima's dream was to find the Dragon's Heart. Yeah, he was chasing after the Dragon's Heart this whole time." Like Okay. Okay,

Also, as far as I can tell/find, the part about it being essentially called "dragon's spittle [fragrance]" in Chinese is true (please correct me if I'm wrong with that), but to have it be named specifically the "Heart of the Dragon" (both in eng and jp) by the treasure hunters in-game was a choice made by rgg Themselves. Which could mean Nothing, of course. But. You Know

Also the fact that Majima ultimately failed in obtaining the Heart of the Dragon.... And by the end of the game has to come to terms with the reality that it was likely never gonna be obtainable in the first place.... something something double meanings Again

Calling the thing that Majima has been chasing after literally The Heart of the Dragon, having the final chapter of the game be called fucking White Whale (<- this detail in particular in the context of Majima and Kiryu makes me So Sick), absolutely insane of you rgg thank you for this </3 Keep up the good work

Honestly really happy about more people talking about the mischaracterization of Simon. Idk I think its a real interesting topic especially because Simon is my fav character and because we never did a deep dive/analysis of the characters during my lotf unit at school. (We kinda just characterized Jack is just evil, and Ralph as bad but like much better than Jack lol)

And it sucks because even though I'm not the best at character analysis I love doing it and I know Simon has a lot to be analysed about him. (Sigh if only I didn't forget like 90% of the book 😔) but also I love giving him flaws like being nosy, eavesdropping, keeping silent about issues, etc idk I'm just having a blast giving him flaws but I hope people give him flaws that like. Actually have an effect/impact

Same goes for Jack because even though I don't like him that much I love seeing people talk about how he's multi-dimensional and not just the spawn of Satan. Honestly really like those rare (?) posts that allow him to have moments of vulnerability or times where he'd actually express concern for other people. (Would be pretty difficult to label a 12 year old with a far from fully developed mind as evil)

I don't know why but I'm always the most interested in these two fellas. I still find rambles about Piggy and Ralph quite interesting but for whatever reason I think Jack and Simon are the most fascinating which has reminded me that I'm supposed to be doing research on schizophrenia and NPD for the both of them

i don’t believe that writers have shown favouritism towards tory, for sam literally ever. so in season 6, the last season if they’re giving tory more attention than sam (if that’s why you think) then so be it. seriously.

➢ you know how kishi said that if a hyuga and uchiha ever had a child, said child would have one byakugan eye and one sharingan eye? i'd like to think that same logic applies in this case. i could go all nerd and actually discuss genetics and shit, but that's probably not what you want to here so we'll just go with this.

➢ the chinoike clan---once thriving and powerful---is only discussed in textbooks when teaching students about the warring states period. so imagine everyone's shock upon learning that not only is there a living member of the chinoike in konoha, but she's also married into the prestigious hyuga clan.

➢ your marriage to neji is certainly a controversial one within the clan. even post war, when the clan becomes a little more lax about members marrying outside their own, there are still some that oppose the fact that neji's children won't be pure blooded hyugas.

➢ they're born with a byakugan in their left eye and a ketsuryūgan in their right. there are a lot of mixed feelings on your end. relief that your clan's bloodline won't end with you, but also fear. after you manage to flee from hell's valley, you didn't want your kids to have the childhood you did.

➢ plus, with such a rare kekkei genkai on top of having the byakugan, there's no dount that bloodline theives will try and kill them for their eyes, finding those more valuable than their lives.

➢ i imagine with the combined kekkei genkai, the children are able to come up with new jutsu or combine/modify existing ones. imagine being able to somehow incorperate a blood jutsu to the gentle fist? i don't know how that would work, but i think it sounds really cool.

finishing off the rest of the issue today! very convenient this one is split into two. i fear for the length the other reaction posts will be when i have to go through the entire issue for the story instead of half-and-half.

oh shit i was right it is about doc getting picked up for the manhattan project! the comic opens on the california institute of technology, 1943, as helpfully supplied by the text box. i think this is the one where doc shows them his jello cube with a singular mushroom in it. the mushroom is very important. anyways, doc storms into i think his boss’s office and he’s very mad! his boss asks him why he’s not teaching to which he replies this:

gotta search up something rq.

yeah this is funny. [a la shrek they don’t even have dental] he doesn’t even teach a math course

docs mad bc he’s noticed all his other colleagues have been disappearing to contribute to what he guesses is a “top-secret think tank” for the war so what’s he still doing here?? that should be him!! (or in his words, “you should’ve bussed me off ages ago!”) throughout his whole rant about credentials and stuff he’s doing this:

i also love how similar he’s drawn to the video game version of him. i can hear this in his younger self’s video game voice

so his boss is like yeah you’re right there is something going on and we thought about you for it and doc immediately takes this as a confirmation that he’s going and asks “can i bring my dog?” which i thought was cute. the canine assistant is very important to him. his boss goes no wait. we get this explanation :

doc is not the slightest bit offended he just goes yeah i get it. but ☝️i have an idea

we cut to:

doc goes home, not deterred by this in the slightest. he WILL be bussed off to that think tank. he’s put his mind to it and by god is he going to accomplish it. oh weird his apartment lights are on-
