The Western community really baffles me with how far-fetched their reasons for not shipping certain het ships are. How many characters are infantilized, made to be manipulative/toxic, or have a non-familial bond made familial, or have their bisexuality unwritten? I've lost count. Stop this. If you don't want to ship a thing, then just don't ship said thing, but stop trying to invalidate it with the world's wildest presumptions that have zero basis outside of your own lunacy.

I'm also a Destiny Islands Trio poly-truther. Those three NEED to sit down and all three need to eat from the same paopu and I will not be convinced otherwise. It's not even like they say "lives intertwined romantically" just intertwined. Please for the sake of every single character just become intertwined forever, Islands Trio.

i tried chatgpt once to see if it was plagiarizing my fic, as someone who has written uhhhhhh 99.99% of content for a pairing - asked it about turnerjones, but it could not string together pairing-specific dialogue/beats that couldn't just be copy-pasted into another fic entirely. and that was, i guess, somewhat reassuring.

but the scary thing was that at first i fucking DID get that rush of "oh my god!! instant fic of my rarepair making eyes at each other??" and i had to beat that impulse back down like a rabid dog. because genuinely i could see how someone with like, a debilitating fear of writing and no experience at this could be lured into the dopamine machine. pair that with isolation and no community to share ideas with and...yeah i do see it!! and that's the scary thing!!

but at the end of the day it's just a "what word should come next?" machine and it can't parse motifs or foreshadowing or irony etc etc. and i. i've been writing fiction since i was 14. have been writing a lot more for the last 5 years, which has made a huge difference. and after the initial high of seeing something other than myself write this rarepair, i was like. Oh. This is actually nothing. I can replace the names and this is meaningless. but if this were an original story...? yeah, there's no connection to canon beneath it. no serial numbers.

so in a weird fucking conclusion, fanfic is somehow more protected from the intrusion of AI in a way that original stories aren't?? i don't have a compelling end to this post i've just been trying to process this.

Purpose?

Continuing to celebrate the BartKon Renaissance in the modern era. Since the ship has historically been a rarepair since its conception in the 1990's, this fanweek acts as both a way to celebrate the BartKon narrative in DC Comics, as well as engage new fans in our small yet mighty collective.

Why should we participate in this?

Because you like BartKon. Because you saw fanfiction and fanart and shitposts, and decided you wanted to see what's poppin' in the BartKonosphere. All creators are welcome. Our romcom lovers, the darkfic connoisseurs, and of course, our smut specialists.

So how does it work?

The release date for fanworks is from Monday, the 20th of October through Sunday, the 26th of October, 2025. 

You have over four months to write, draw, and create fanworks. On top of fanfiction and fanart, we also encourage meta, essays, ship manifestos, playlists, and poetry.

Please be courteous and treat each other with respect when engaging with fanworks and their creators. If you misbehave, I will be cursing you with gastrointestinal issues and toothaches for the rest of your life.

BartKon of ANY comic book universe is acceptable. If you want to spend the entire fanweek exploring Luthor-El and Bart because you love horrific love, then be my guest! If you want a crazed version of Bart to kidnap Kon from Gemworld, go for it! Let that imagination run WILD!!!

Both safe and not-safe-for-tunglr dot hell tropes are welcome. Just make sure that you post any Mature content on a landing page that doesn't restrict Mature content (like AO3). I don’t want anyone getting their blog banned. We cannot defeat our capitalist overlords, but we can definitely work around them.

This fanweek will not have a dedicated blog. These prompts are free for anyone to use. Because it is a non-traditional, non-monetized, and free-to-opt-in casual event, there will be no mods but moi, no advertising of paid services, and no ratings or participant restrictions. I will open a collection on AO3 in October for anyone who wants their work collated for this event.

In order to ensure that both creators and the audience are making informed decisions about what they engage with, all creators are encouraged to include triggers and any other squick warnings. 

Please utilize the read-more function for fanworks that are longer than 250 words. We're tryna read yer stories, not get spammed with a wall of text. Please Be Courteous.

What can I contribute?

Can I create/write not-safe-for-tunglr dot hell content?

Yes!!! All creators are encouraged to include triggers warnings, sub-genre specifications, and other warnings in their posts. I will not discourage you from writing your 16k Bart Goes Insane Over Kon fic, but please... Be Courteous and tag your fanworks appropriately so people can make an informed decision about what they're comfortable with engaging with.

What does (X) prompt mean?

Each day has two prompts!! You can either pick a prompt OR you can combine prompts in different ways. I challenge you to let your imagination run wild!

To reiterate, mainstream canon, Elsewords, and AU content is all acceptable! Creativity is key! Have fun!!!

TL;DR: Over four months until the fanweek!!! For all fanwork creators out there, now’s the time to start thinking about what prompts you want to utilize for your creations. There are no creative restrictions, but I do ask that you follow these posting tips:

All fanfiction should be under a read-more.  

Not-safe-for-tunglr fanwork should be LINKED to whatever landing site the content is being hosted on (Twitter, AO3, etc). This includes both fanfiction and fanart. I don’t want your blog getting flagged bc tunglr hates gay people.

Provide content warnings for all triggers, squicks, and sub-genres. Please list content warnings on your work but do not be discouraged in sharing your work. If a fancop gets on your ass, block them. If they keep bothering you, tell them their mom's a hoe.

Closing Remarks

Like all my other events I host, this event, too, is entirely selfish. I've loved BartKon since I was a child when I was first introduced to it in the form of Bart/Clark on Smallville. Although I only recently came back to reading DC's mainline comics, BartKon still holds a special place in my heart even after all these years, and the few who still create and engage in their fanworks inspired me to host a little something-something for our small community.

What is a ship swap?

The Evboverse Ship Swap is an event hosted by @confessioncivilization taking place the first week of July where users can send in their favorite ships in the evboverse (parkour civilization, pvp civilization, and minecraft simulation) and force other people to make them delicious content of the ships!

This content includes art and fanfiction, but it’s entirely up to the user on how they choose to interpret this!

What are the rules to the Ship Swap?

All ships are allowed, and again, rarepairs are encouraged! There shouldn’t be any issues with adult x child as there aren’t typically any children in evboverse media, 

NO NSFW!! Again, this was created by @confessioncivilization, a fully sfw evboverse confessions/headcanons blog. Do not ask for smut. Do not create smut. If you want smut, go find someone with nsfw requests open. This is not the place for that. Lightly suggestive stuff is fine unless stated against it, but don’t go further than that.

You NEED to enjoy yourself this is a requirement. If i find out you aren’t having a good time then you will be blocked and banned from ever participating in these events again. 

That last rule was a joke, but seriously. Don’t burn yourself out over this.

Your due date is Sunday, July 6th. You can start at any time once you’ve received your partner!

How will this whole thing work?

Submit your ship (there can be multiple) into this little form linked at the bottom of the post!

Your username and your assigned ships will go onto a funny little wheel with everyone else who signed up for this and I’ll spin it and randomly assign you a partner!

Using the info you provided me, I’ll dm you (or send you an ask from my main blog, @phoe-ix if dms are closed) containing your partner’s username and their ship(s) and preferences. If I send an ask, do NOT answer it. Leave it in your inbox and either take a screenshot, or do NOT delete it.

You’ll have until the provided due date to make them something special for one or more of their ships! It’s up to you which ship you choose to make something for if they submit multiple and the same goes for your partner. If they don’t do something for your most preferred ship, then that’s okay! At least you’re getting something, right?

You’re 100% allowed (and even encouraged) to submit rarepairs. Stuff you don’t see everyday is better! On one hand, you get to see new ships you didn’t even consider, and on the other hand, you get content for your silly little guys that nobody seems to care about!

How do I upload my final product?

Milestone

I recently hit 200,000 words over on AO3. I know some of you monsters manage this in one fic (!!!), but for me, averaging 300-1,000 words a pop, it's a surprise. And a delight, because I'm happy with all 200K of those words, one way or another. I do this for fun, and I've had plenty of it.

You know what? I mustered up the courage to come off of anon just for this. (Not gonna tag myself, but knowing my writing style, it’s probably gonna be obvious who I am lol.)

So uh. I’m fine now, but for some context: I was kinda upset earlier. And like a perfectly normal person, I wrote some self-indulgent rarepair stuff to make myself feel better. And now I’m sharing it with you all! Hope you don’t mind :]

Elliot / John Doe

Elliot once ‘tamed’ a feral John by feeding him pizza. It was a complete accident, too. He was trying to give it to Shedletsky, but John got in the way. 

It didn’t stop him from attacking the others, unfortunately. But he did leave Elliot alone for the rest of the round.

Being able to neutralize a threat like that is a big deal, so you bet that Elliot tried that shi again. Through trial and error, he discovered that John’s favourite is a plain old cheese pizza.

John’s memories while feral are fuzzy at best, and complete blanks at worst. Thus, he enjoyed getting properly aquatinted with Elliot after he managed to snap out of it about halfway through a round.

Using that one ���the killers share a cabin across the water from the survivors cabin’ hc, John and Elliot will sometimes “meet up” between rounds by standing on their respective docks and shouting across the water at one another. They’d chat for as long as they could about the most random of things, just enjoying each other’s company.

Elliot once found a way to get a box of cheese pizza over to the killers side, and the gesture almost brought John to tears.

Noob / 1x1x1x1

Since there’s only four killers (as of writing this), I imagine that there’s barely any breaks between being chosen for rounds. And if the Spectre’s feeling particularly mean, one killer might get chosen over and over and over- (totally didn’t experience a server once with like 4 or 5 Mafiosos that we got back to back.)

See where I’m heading with this? The Spectre ends up favouring 1x1x1x1 for a while, which leads to him being worked to the bone. I’d say ‘poor guy’, but this is probably karma at this point…

No one really thinks much about it until 1x just straight-up collapses of exhaustion during a round. That was the moment that everyone realized that the killers weren’t these unstoppable machines of death; that they were bound by the same rules mortals were.

Maybe it’s naivety. Maybe it’s curiosity. Maybe it’s something else entirely. But regardless, Noob’s the only one brave (or stupid) enough to approach a killer like this. The embodiment of hatred was clearly unhappy, but it’s not like he could hurt anyone in this state.

While the others did their thing, Noob kept watch over 1x. Mostly to make sure he didn’t start killing again, but also because a small part of him felt bad for the guy.

Even after the round ended and 1x got the rest he needed, Noob didn’t seem to fear him as much after that. It initially annoyed 1x1x1x1, but he eventually started to see the noob in a slightly different light when they offered themselves up after realizing that he hadn’t gotten a single kill in like, four rounds (not back to back this time, luckily. But still.)

1x eventually confronted Noob on their behaviour, and you know what he said? Noob admitted that he thought 1x could be a better (and less murder-y) person if he just had a friend. 

And the crazy thing is, they were kind-of right.

There. I said my piece. I was oddly scared about sharing these for whatever reason, but yeah. I like imagining these goobers doing silly things together, and I’m tired of pretending that I don’t/lh

(I should honestly write a fic for this or something. I have way too many ideas with these guys-)

i already talked briefly this on twitter but i'd like to share it here too

from daddycop and el toro de piedra it seems that the penalteam heroes will have their own episodes centered around them PLUS a second lead

in daddycop we had sabrina & zoe, while in el toro de piedra we had ivan & juleka

which means: who could be the second lead for nathaniel and marc's episodes?

(tho due to their relationship, there is a chance that their episodes COULD be merged but honestly i want two separate episodes that focuses on the two individually)

i think its frankly obvious that nathaniel's second lead would be alix, considering those two are close friends and it would be a sweet season 6 debut for alix to reunite with him, and hopefully that episode will delve deeper into their friendship and how nath has been affected by alix's departure

edit: something i yapped about in twitter just now, a potential plot point could be nathaniel dealing with the loss of alix even though he knows shes still alive its just that they cant even interact because of her duty with the rabbit miraculous and that maybe he knows in his heart that being bunnix is more important than being there for him in the grand scheme of things. nathaniel in the new season seems to have eyebags and his hair is less red and more a natural brown, and its been confirmed that alix dyes his hair, so perhaps this could be the physical manifestation of him losing alix

for marc, its not as obvious, considering marc's friendships arent shown as much, there is zoe however she already is sabrina's second lead and i doubt they'd use her again for his episode unless they plan to do a continuation subplot within the episode to what ray is blackmailing zoe on about her past life but i believe she should get her own episode for that

we could also rule out marinette due to her being ladybug and that these penalteam centric episodes are about a penalteam hero + a side charavter who becoems the second lead, of course, she'll still have moments with marc

again, if they, for whatever reason, merge nathmarc's episodes together, then they'll be the leads together, but otherwise? yes they'd play significant enough roles in each other's episodes but not enough to be considered second leads so that way they can still get their own episodes that center them

now, who do i think COULD be marc's second lead?

WELL. i know this sounds crazy. AND i might be fueled by my love for the rarepair, felinathmarc. BUT PLEASE, give me a listen

both marc and felix are the only miraculers to have bird themed miraculouses, the rooster and the peacock.

AND they have this sun and moon symbolism that comes with it too. the rooster is obviously associated with the sun but the peacock is associated with the moon due to the moon having connections to emotions and the peacock being the miraculous of emotion (and also argos creating the red moon sentimonster in that one episode too btw!!!)

their contrasting personalities can also help create this interesting friendship honestly these two need more friends, felix especially, i think it could be very interesting to delve into.

also tiny note: their partners, nathaniel and kagami, are both artists!

im just saying that felimarc have quite a handful of parallels that could be interesting to explore in their potential dynamic

even if that isnt the case, i trust that the new writers for season 6 will write their episodes beautifully like they've done with sabrina and ivan, i just am very VERY desperate for my felinathmarc crumbs

aside from currently working on RBTY, i'm also deeep into making: 1. a Klance Wicked AU ( co-authoring with my voltron irl, should be out this summer?), 2. a klance spiderman au oneshot (will post whenever i get the time to finish lol) and 3. a large scale vld rewrite where Kerberos never happens, Lance gets the black lion, Shiro is actively dying of his disease and, oh yeah, klance happens (this one specifically will prob take a while to get anywhere lol, tag is #tbau). so, basically, the fandom train is not leaving the klance station anytime soon

more curious since you ship boschlow, do you ship Hunter with anyone? I mean no malicious intent my good friend for I believe a ship should be judge not by the characters but the shipper for it is in their soul that shows the evils and you do not carry any

My main ship with Hunter is with Skara! I think they'd share some common interests with Ruler's Reach, fashion/sewing, and have similar music tastes. I think they would geek out together at conventions and could make costumes for each other. We also saw Skara singing to some kids in the timeskip, so I believe she'd also want kids (something I headcanon Hunter would also really want, with his whole wolf and family motifs).

I also think the color palette combo would be fun since Skara is predominantly red (like flapjack) with gold accents.

Also, imagine her playing the harp while he's carving palismen in the forest, while Hunter's just whistling along.

She's a great strategist, and Hunter loves women who can take charge. For once, it would be nice if someone listened to her .

Meanwhile, I think Skara would relate to someone who was able to be free themselves from a controlling figure, even if they looked up to them at some point in their life.

And overall, they love their friends very much!

Also, I just love her design so much I wish we got to see more of her.
