Do you have any tips on how to draw Silco's nose in relation to the rest of his face? Every time I try, the proportions look slightly off. It's driving me bananas because I love his nose. T_T

So anyway, I think I found Connol’s 3D model in-show.

THIS GUY. I'M NOT CRAZY WAIT. Here's a comparison to the only other shots we have of Connol:

Same Face. Square face shape, thick brows, small mouth, thick nose.

Same Hat. There's like a belt thing with three metal pieces going on with the newsboy cap.

Blue Turtleneck. Also sleeveless.

Red Overalls Thing.

Left Strap. Seems to be the red overalls' strap.

Utility Belt. Pouch with gold lining, also two more pouches at the back.

Pouch.

Glove over Arm Warmers. The image on the far right doesn't seem to have warmers though.

Remember when I made the Connol Post - Part 4 and I compared little Vi and Powder's design to him?

While it might be Connol's actual model, it’s strictly not him. Meaning he was intended to be Connol for the bridge shot (him lying under Felicia's corpse) and as reference model for the Remember Me sequence, but he was a character model that the animators could reuse as background character too (seeing as Connol wasn't much important to the plot enough for the audience to notice.)

And we know it's him-but-also-not-him because that screenshot took place when Sevika was confronting Vander about fighting back against the Enforcers flooding the undercity after the kids' heist at Piltover, a time when he's supposedly long dead. I mean, it's a waste of model to use him only for one shot, I see the reasoning.

ngl I'm so giddy at the fact that I got close to the actual model when I created that model sheet for him.

THE SIDE BUTTONS, UTILITY BELT, NEWSBOY CAP, AND FRONTVIEW FACE I GOT IT DOWN LETSGOOO. And I only had watercolor Connol and dead Connol as reference then.

Too bad we don't have a full body shot of this 3D model so I can see the lower half too, but I'm so happy with what we got<3

That entire thing really did not land for me and took me extremely out of the episode ngl. The way it is framed and later on referenced on warwick's delusion flashbacks (IN MY OPINION) seemed to suggest that their mom was embroiled in an unrequited love triangle with these two and i could feel my brain leaking out of my ears because, to get back to a previously mentioned problem; it makes the world feel really, really limited. Like there's 10 real people surrounded by a population of NPCs. The idea of silco/vander as singlehandedly responsible for a 'revolution' that has no lineage beyond themselves is already laughable but?? they frame it as if vander could legit have been vi's dad?? he picks the name?? and that he is maybe seething in rage at silco because he was the reason she died??? huh? whuh? what in all of the wattpad fanfiction. not to mention... it makes silco constant attempts to kill vi in s1 seem contradictory and nonsensical. His motivations???????????

In some ways.. it is still resource exploitation now but Worse and in a time-ticking bomb sort of way that absolutely breaks the idea of Piltover using hextech for decades at a time. Im curious to see if that will be referenced in game content now bc it legitimately has shattered the timeline. I think its once again unnecessary and sacrifices a lot of good stuff for mid hand-wringing. But yeah. P/Z as presented in arcane has had so much personality sapped out of it. a whole roster of characters who might get completely rebooted for no good reason.

TBH i wouldn't really worry about this because i think if anyone is getting a new sex scene its going to be cait/vi makeup or hatesex. Sky is a plot convenience; her existence for the show's entire runtime is an accessory that they couldn't even bother fleshing out. The definition of the not-gays.

My reasoning is that if they were going to do any of that we would have already seen her do these things, more things, in the scenes she already appears in; but as always she is a static 3D model lounging in the background. (Related: this might be because she is Literally Not Real and the hexcore is just making up a faint mimicry who can only say 1 word.) Their time budget is really messy this season and i just don't see them wasting More time like that. They don't care for sky. never did! She's just a way to avoid letting viktor be an ideologue glorious evolutionist.

We already know internally some of the animators & art team like jayvik & there's even a few for-fun outside of the company interviews w/ crew expressing a preference to jv on a personal level ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the more the script tries to push it as nonromantic the more coded these scenes get. In terms of actual interaction i think a lot is going to depend on whatever the hell happens in episode 6 because their screentime is REALLY low and im unsure act3 can pull off another timeskip. So much left dangling.

IDGAF about meljay and i've never cared about meljay i think it is the culpirit of not-gays #1 so its hilarious how that shit literally didn't matter. The entire noxus storyline is a can of worms i would have thrown in the garbage and have no interest in. Still, in realistic terms, there is a 50/50 chance this season ends with jayce married 2 kids 1 dog 1/2 parrot moving out to noxus and saying 'heh, i never liked piltover anyway' and they'll play it like we're supposed to clap because nothing matters

if i was in charge we'd get full frontal jayvik stigmata scissoring write that down. I still hope if we can manifest 1 thing it is a good fight scene with some choking on it

I'm really happy to finally share with you my 3D model of Silco! It's a school project and I chose to sculpt this rat man.

For the first picture I took inspiration from the artbook. The colors and rendering are done with Zbrush, only the colored lights were edited on Photoshop ( yes, I'm sorry Blender, you'll have to wait a little bit more). Hope You like it!

I remembered about the Silco TFT model that's online and immediately went to check the same axial plane view I kept seeing in articles about ZMC fractures and I can confirm --this man's cheekbone is gone.

ok so I was talking to my brother about the TFT and I was asking him about the costumes in the game and from what I understood each season in some cases some characters change their appearance for example at the beginning there was the original jinx and then in one of the seasons was the jinx project skin and well in arcane we know that they made the young silco model so I wonder how many chances are there that silco after he is a couple of seasons in the game they give him a skin 👀👀👀👀👀

A old WIP from a while back of a 3d Model of Silco I'm working on in Blender. At this stage I was still sculpting it but I wanted to see how it would look if I put a quick rig + some placeholder hair on it and posed it like one of the concepts (pose 28). I don't exactly have the clothing made yet so... the model isn't explicit or anything but posting it unedited just felt too wrong (though I'm sure some of you would have prefered it that way...🤨).

Currently the the sculpting is done save for a few tweaks, I have textures projected on his face, textures on the eyes, and the mouth is textured and rigged. I will share some more sometime soon.

More Connol Sightings

I went back to watch scenes with background crowds and found that the Connol model seems to be only used in the Last Drop (under Vander) and the Bridge scenes (excluding S2 AU).

So we'll start at the beginning.

Opening Scene

Lowkey he got that cake Anyway. It's interesting that for a guy never officially introduced in the show, he has 3 different outfits: miner uniform (Remember Me), default outfit (Remember Me & BG appearances in TLD), and this - the Day of Ash outfit.

Instead of the turtleneck, he's wearing some sort of vest over a tank top. His right arm warmer is replaced by a black arm ribbon wrap thing like young Silco and an arm brace on the left wrist like Felicia and these accessories are not present in his default outfit.

We should also take into account that this guy may also be a different background character entirely who just happens to reuse Connol's assets (the hat, the utility belt and pouch). There is a minor difference with dead Connol (wearing arm warmer but no arm ribbon wrap) and running Connol (wearing arm ribbon wrap but no arm warmer).

But I'd like to think that's still him. It's much sadder to think that Connol was right beside Silco when he threw the molotov. Heck maybe that's why he died first. Remember this?

Maybe after the molotov was thrown, Connol saw an enforcer coming. Maybe his first priority was to keep the leaders of Zaun safe. Silco was right beside him, maybe he pushed him out of the way and he got shot instead. Felicia sees this, ran to him and pleaded not to shoot but was shot too and that's why their corpses ended up on top of each other.

This is the only shot with his lower half visible. I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE MAROON OVERALLS??? His pants look maroon too, could only mean his pants is connected to the maroon cloth across his torso.

It looks like his left calf is exposed and he’s wearing a high boot on the right foot and a regular ass shoe on the left?? He also has a right knee pad and leg warmers.

How can I tell? I've mastered the art of interpreting pixels and I'm also not normal.

The clearest shot we have of his 3D model. Connol actually follows Sevika out in this scene. You know Vander is so ass as a leader that even Connol leaves💀 (also lowkey his biceps are kinda👀)

Bridge Blockade

This last one is from the part where Jayce ordered a blockade at the bridge. I’m actually not so sure if it’s him, it’s hard to see so I assumed based on the hat and turtleneck silhouette (it’s also funny to imagine he’s still going to protests post-death. Man’s haunting that bridge)

I should also note, old blonde Silco model is also by his side (ignore the cop in the middle)

Ok, so, @faraige made some observations in the tags on their post about wanting to see the 3D models of Silco's office:

And this has punted me down a rabbit-hole of headcanons about Silco being more of a tragic figure than he lets on, and some general Zaun society context... I started this in a reply to @faraige 's post, but I'm going to start my own thread so as not to derail.

In my mind he doesn't have a private apartment, let alone a bedroom, and sleeps on the infamous couch. There's a discreet washstand behind a screen tucked in a corner somewhere, the wardrobe by the desk for clothing and bedding (+/- the odd trunk or dresser for storage), and a tin bath stowed away somewhere for when a stand-up wash won't cut it (more on that later).

The way I see it is that the opulence of his office is largely for show, to remind the Chembarons and Enforcers who's boss (same with the clothes) but he actually pays himself a very meagre personal stipend to maximise the profit going into the Zaun Liberation War-Chest. He's surrounded by the trappings of luxury, but has very few home-comforts himself. And because he's so very tied up in projecting an image, some of that is also strategic - he wants his inner circle (Sevika, Ran, Dustin, the Burly Henchman fanon has decided is called Mek) to know that he's eating the same street food as them, that he doesn't have some fancy-schmancy bathroom when their place barely has hot water plumbing, that his personal life isn't significantly better appointed than theirs, so they don't get envious. Humility, of a sort, helps retain loyalty and belief in The Cause because Silco's clearly not out to line his own pockets. The cigars are an indulgence, but then again, they also play into the image of power he projects to all but a very trusted few.

And the particular tragedy is that he probably has fewer comforts than his employees (who I believe he pays well - definitely better than the other Chembarons at grunt level - because he sees them as the Children of Zaun, not cattle)

Now, I'm basing a lot of how I picture the infrastructure of Zaun on the poor bits of late 19th/early-20th coastal-industrial cities like London, Liverpool, or New York. Indoor plumbing, let alone hot water, is something of a luxury. Private kitchens are not the norm, people eat from street vendors or at public canteens. Privacy is at a premium. The aforementioned Hench-persons have probably got their own little flat-share sitcom going on in a converted warehouse, and it's nicer than most - they have their own bedrooms, an indoor loo, maybe a shower (albeit from a hot-water tank, so the pressure's lousy and the second person in is getting a cold wash), some cooking facilities and cold-storage for food. And all that's fine because if they want a meal, they go to Jericho's or the like. If they want a good long soak, they go to the public bath-house. If they want somewhere comfortable to sit and chill, they go to the pub. These are all normal, social activities.

But Silco? The King of Zaun? He can't really be seen in normal, everyday places like that because he has to maintain that façade of Power. So he eats alone (or, at best, with his staff at the Drop), he bathes alone, he drinks alone. He owns everything, so he has no-where to call his own space. In trying to create this nation, this community, he's painted himself into this incredibly isolated and lonely existence.
