Color Ranges - For Prefix Context

just cause I empty brain ramble, I realize that in my posts and in my google sheets that I linked I use specific colors without branching, so I wanted to share what each color encompasses;

black - includes black, very dark gray, and every other variety of black used in the books.

brown - includes shades of brown, tan, gray-brown, beige, cream-brown, and reddish brown.

cream - shades of cream, golden/gold, yellow, cream-brown, rosy cream, pinkish gray, etc.

ginger - includes shades of ginger, orange, red, ginger-brown/reddish ginger, copper, flame-colored, and every shade of 'orange' used in the books.

gray - includes shades of gray, smoky, gray-brown, pinkish gray, etc. However, does not include very pale gray / silver.

silver - has the range of silver, silvery gray, almost white, very pale gray and everything lighter than a light gray.

white - another simple one - takes the range of any shade of white used in the series [which i don't think is much]

tricolor - any non-tortoiseshell color combo [brown, black, and white; silver, white, and gray; gray, black, and white; etc]

tortoiseshell - any tortoiseshell color combo + torbies, calcios/tortoiseshell and whites + calibies

Are Dovewing and Whitewing blue golden shaded and white cats? Because I don't know what blue shaded golden shell is.

Blue shaded golden shell is the same as blue golden shaded, it's just another name. Sometimes the gold gene in BSH/BLH/Persians is called golden shell, other times it's golden shaded. But it's the same coloration lol. Think the torbico/caliby situation.

The idea behind saying shaded + shell is that golden "shell" cats can also be other tabby (shaded being ticked, like how a silver shaded cat is just a silver ticked tabby)
