Currently reading: SUPPOSEDLY it's on the way to a smile by kazushige nojima but ummm xmas has come and gone and im still stuck on episode rufus LOLOL (also supposedly im already catching up on comics but ummmm yeh)

What food are you craving right now: OHMAN last night i was craving for some quality japanese cheesecake. WORST TIME FOR THAT EVER. kinda want milk tea now tho but my fave milk tea shop is closed bc of the quarantine (and to think it's just a 3min walk from the house) :xxx

if anything i think its just them trying to foreshadow? giving ppl who've never played the game, a lil scene thatll be called back when the nibelheim incident is fleshed out?

foreshadowing sounds like a thing they really want to do, all right! i mean like a theme of the game of sorts, what with the feather and the unmei no bannin folks and stuff. and like, this is an age where probably at least 87% of the whole gaming community has at the very least heard of sephiroth, it's kind of stupid for them to still be going, "hehe bet you don't know who the real bad guy is ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" and at the same time, that fire scene is one of the hugely anticipated iconic ones to be remastered, it's totally understandable they'd be excited to show it, too!

but i guess aside from the generational gap that's making these adjustments jarring for me, part of the thing i loved about sephiroth was that he started out as a random name, and then became real and THEN escalated into the worst menace imaginable! and that mystery(??) was smth that really captured me and i guess i was kind of wishing the newgen players could experience for themselves, too! bc that was a really suave villain intro and so influential to me as a writer lmao
