A quick roundup of my BaCC families now that generation 1 have become elders and a lot of stuff has been unlocked

So, I won't be like, posting about this BaCC other than a nice picture here and there and occasionally bragging about my scoreboard, but here's some pictures I took, not wanting to spend too much time on posing, to commemorate the state of families. At this point, basically all families are somehow connected. Blame Frona and Armand.

A note on names: I asked Behindthename to generate five names, male, female and both from basically all categories on their list and I just pick whatever names on that list I like the best. Sometimes I'm not sure if the name is male or female, but I've decided that my sims don't care, so neither do I :), but all names were randomized and so is most things that require some sort of decision on my part.

The Oberst Family

Nerys Oberst (man with grey hair) is the town's electrician and architect. He married Charles Seevey and they had three kids. Kiyo and Padmini, both married to Leslie-Barretts, moved out, but Petruska, lady in red, remained to take over the Electronics store. She married Roger Mogensen. They had quadruplets and then right after there was a broken condom so all their five kids are almost all the same age. From the left: Rizpah (the single birth) and the quads: Tullio, Alexandr, Ivo and Mindy.

The Kohout Family

Gordana Kohout is the town's mayor after winning the popular vote on Day 1. She married Veronica Chung to her right (she's close to becoming an elder herself) who was the town's only teacher for along time. Together they had three kids, twins Essi (far left) and Liam (moved out, married to an Ayers), and much later Gideon (middle). Essi married Morrigan Leslie-Barrett and together they have a daughter, Freya. More are likely to come. Gideon is working on setting up Brightshroom Island's first football team and will soon be moving out. I have no spouse planned for him yet.

The Mogensen Family

This one is a bit of a mess. Seated in the short hair is Albina Mogensen, the town's first carpenter. She ran a successful furniture store that she has now turned over to her granddaughter. She married Sophie Tellerman who founded Brightshroom Island News, the local paper and together they had twin sons. Roger is now married to Petruska Oberst and can be seen in photo nr 1, but in his teens he got Lizzie Leslie-Barrett pregnant and she gave birth to Margarita (second from the right). Lizzie later married Roger's brother Theofil and are the couple in the back. Other than Margarita, the couple also had four children. Teresia who leans on Albina, teenaged Roderick, Dragomir in the middle and not pictured: Florentina because ugh posing babies amirite? Margarita runs Albina's old furniture store and has also started up a hobby shop that sells all kinds of art and hobby supplies. She married townie Kerie Comier and had two children: Elaine sitting in her great-grandmother Sophie's lap and their son Harrish who is somewhere sleeping because again, ugh posing babies amirite? Teresia is an adult now too, and will be moving out to live with her cousin and bff Juniper in the next round. Roderick is close to adulthood and will also be moving out to live with his BFF, Natasha Ayers. I think that Theofil and Lizzie might move to a place of their own with their youngest kids too because this household is full and very stressful to play.

The Leslie-Barrett Family

Ho-boy. Frona Leslie ran the town's art store where they could buy home decorations etc. She married Armand Barrett and I liked both their names, so they've been the Leslie-Barretts ever since. Armand never had a job but did most of the child raising and boy were there a lot of children. Six, to be exact. First, a pair of twins, girls Lizzie (from photo nr 3) and Caron (coming later, married to Kiyo Oberst). Then another daughter, Morrigan (photo nr 2, married to Essi Kohout). Then came another set of twins, a boy and a girl this time, pictured on the far left and right of this picture; Sophia, who now works as a carpenter who sells kitchen furniture, eventually married Padmini Oberst but it took some time because they're both romance sims and those three bolts apparently wasn't enough to get engaged and married wants until much later. Before this, Sophia had a fling with a townie whose name I can't remember, but led to boy in blue there, Dali Leslie-Barrett, and later Padmini and Sophia had a child together, Talia. On the other end of the picture is Brentley, who took over the art store. He married townie Nathen King, and I also liked THAT name, so I didn't know what to call them and eventually decided there were enough Leslie-Barrett, so they're the Barrett-Kings. Together they have two sons, Conall is the elder on the right, and Sonder was born shortly thereafter. Frona and Armand also had a sixth child, a daughter named Meriem who lives with her boyfriend Erling Ayers. I think Brentley and Nathen are going to move out when a suitable house opens up. The Leslie-Barrett home is large, but there's a lot of sims to keep track of. Or Sophia and Padmini moves. I haven't decided. Might roll the die.

The Ayers Family

Sham'a Ayers, the towns criminal (lol gotta have one of those I guess), married Amar Jordan, a chef. Together they had three children. Twins Erling (to the right) and Darragh (who married Liam Kohout) and Natasha who recently became an adult. Erling moved in his girlfriend Meriem Leslie-Barrett in the yellow skirt and together they have a child, Evan. There's no marriage wants yet and it might stay that way. Natasha found a rare three bolt townie even though she's not a romance sim, and married Breanna Guevara the day after adulthood which was like, yesterday. She's already pregnant, and her and Breanna will be moving out at the end of next round. They'll also move in Roderick Mogensen, who is Natasha's best friend in the whole world.

The Oberst Family 2

Kiyo Oberst and Caron Leslie-Barrett somehow, despite being a pleasure and romance sim respectively, very quickly threw engaged and married wants and I pounced on it very quickly. Caron is the local Florist and Kiyo helps her out in her store. They had Juniper out of wedlock, and she has just become an adult and will be moving in with her best friend and cousin Teresia Mogensen. A little later, Leva was born and I think that's going to be enough for these two.

The Kohout Family 2

Liam Kohout married Darragh Ayers after much ado because she didn't like that he was unemployed at first, but once he started working for Albina Mogensen as a restocker, their chemistry improved much. Darragh runs the local clothing store that also sells rugs and curtains and other things she can make on her sewing machine. Liam helps her out whenever he's not busy with working for other people. Together, they have one daughter, Aurelia.

The Beck Family

I recently unlocked a subhood and made it a farmer's commune. That also meant I got to make a new sim, and because the population had grown so much I had two CAS-points. The die landed on making a pair of siblings, so this is August and Britta Beck. So far, they run the farmer's market in the farmer's commune where they are the only residents (so far). I've only played half a round with these two and not much has happened yet except August has befriended the local pack leader so we'll see how that goes.

I had the idea a while ago "what if there was a PreCure series with the same basic plot as your average Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Stardew Valley type farming sim" and from there, Garden Variety PreCure was born!! I am slowly teaching myself Ren'Py so someday I might make this into a real thing, but for now it's just some character concepts and basic plot ideas, which I'll put under a readmore because this post is long enough already lol. But for now, here are the player character and her four love interests!

Juniper "Junie" MacDonald/Cure Orchard: a sweet, cheerful woman in her mid-twenties, Juniper inherits her grandfather's farm after he suddenly passes away and throws away her unhappy life in the city to start over again in the small town of Bellcrest. She's a bit naive and responds to stress by crying, but she has a big heart and is always thinking of others. Juniper is very social and loves to gossip, and she also loves fashion. By tapping into the power of the land, she can transform into Cure Orchard. She is the player character.

Raine Stellato/Cure Sunburst: a low-key, calm woman in her early twenties. Raine has lived in Bellcrest her whole life and is training to one day take over the local general store ("Stella's") from her great-uncle. She doesn't say much, content to just sit back and listen, but this often leads to people thinking she's not paying attention. Raine loves art and animals and spends most of her time away from the shop painting landscapes and taking care of strays. By tapping into the power of the sky, she can transform into Cure Sunburst. She is a potential love interest for Juniper.

River Park/Cure Seafoam: a boisterous, easygoing man in his mid-twenties. River moved to Bellcrest in his early teens and opened his fishery ("Fish Forward") when he was 19. He has a very relaxed attitude, sometimes to his own detriment since it can cause him to forget or avoid important things. River spends a lot of time working out, but he's fairly clumsy and often hurts himself while doing so. He also sews and knits a lot of his own clothes. By tapping into the power of the sea, he can transform into Cure Seafoam. He is a potential love interest for Juniper.

Cypher "Cy" Magnus: a surly, enigmatic person of indeterminate age. Originally from another world called the Field of Life, Cy has lived in Bellcrest for the last few years, running an antique shop/jack of all trades business ("The Broken Hourglass"). Secretly, they're also a wizard who has been trying to keep the nefarious Eclipse Corporation out of Bellcrest. They tend to be pretty grouchy and talk around what they mean, however when they get excited they start speaking quickly and over-explaining everything. Cy tends to do handiwork for fun and is constantly adding rooms to their shop/house/wizard tower. They are a potential love interest for Juniper.

Elizabeth "Libby" Pearl: a shy, passionate woman in her mid-twenties. Libby grew up in Bellcrest, went away to university, and came back demanding that the town build a proper library. She got her wish, and has since been installed as the only employee of the library/archives/museum/school ("Bellcrest Learning Center"). She's awkward around people she doesn't know, but tries to be friendly, and when she wants something badly enough she dives in headfirst. Libby is a hopeless romantic who loves romance novels, movies, and TV shows. She's a skilled writer as well, though none of her planned novels have lasted more than a few chapters. She is a potential love interest for Juniper.

My husband and I are collectors of Funk POP figures! (We have way too many! We actually use them as decor in our apartment) I also collect enamel pins, smashed pennies, and postcards.

I am also a true crime junkie! I spend hours listening to true crime podcasts or watching documentaries. Someone who also has this interest and can write back and forth about their thoughts/opinions regarding different cases is a plus.

I’m still playing on the same save file so I thought I would update their story a little bit more.

I actually never went back to play with Ezra, Elio and Esther (wow I only just noticed they all have the same initials: EB). Instead, I started playing with Skye and her family. But first let me talk about Indigo, Benjamin and Jack.

I completed Indigo’s painter aspiration which is one of the easiest in the game. I never got Benjamin to the last level of the floral arranging skill but it gets kinda boring after a while so don’t blame me lol. They did have a money tree, which kind of solved all their money problems. Their house was a little small imo which is why when Jack grew up I gave him the mansion aspiration. I figured he’d want to live in a bigger house. I noticed Benjamin’s sister was a widow with no kids and a fortune so I moved her in with them while I was playing with Skye’s household lol But yeah, thanks to Aunt Isla, Jack had a lot of money for that mansion. Plus the money tree? Yeah, his life was solved. Anyways, Isla and then Benjamin died so it was just Indigo, Jack and Cleveland (their dog) when I went back to play with them. Jack then met this mean girl and made her his girlfriend and then asked her to move it. She was actually an alien but I don’t like playing with them so I made her human (fuck aliens tbh) and changed her mean treat bc mean sims are annoying to have in a household jksjdksd. Anyways, they haven’t gotten married yet but they have a kid named Juniper. Also I moved them to Oasis Spring to a house I got from the gallery because I was tired of the weather in Brindleton Bay and all my current households live there for some reason. So yeah, that means that Jack’s aspiration is pretty close to being achieved because the house they live in now is a lot bigger than the one in Brindleton Bay (thanks again Aunt Isla) but yeah. That’s where they are right now. They have 2 dogs and 1 cat, btw. And Indigo died too. Their house is a little too big for my tastes and it’s kind of hard to play with them (my laptop sucks) so idk if i’ll play more with them... not sure yet.) Maybe I’ll get them married and stuff I always like doing weddings lol. Also, Juniper is just a toddler still but I think she might have gotter her father’s eyes which makes me super happy fjkfj I love that they’re still getting a founder sim’s feature. I love it. 

Now, Skye, Sebastian and Sasha (these initials were on purpose, even their pets all start with S). I made Skye a scientist and Sebastian a botanist (cheated some promotions for them hehehe). Sasha became a teenager not long after I started playing with them. Now the story is that Sasha was kind of obsessed with dating. She wanted to have a boyfriend, no matter who. She liked this older kid Logan Scott but he aged up before she got the chance to romance him lol so she went after her friend Brennan. She liked Brennan, but she wasn’t in love with him. For new years she had told herself she had to get a boyfriend so she just dated him. And then... on her birthday to a young adult she cooled off their relationship lol. She was still in love with Logan so she went after him. Problem? Logan was already married to an older woman (Irene Jordan, one of Benjamin’s nieces and a widow). But yeah, Sasha dgaf and just made them get a divorce lol. Fortunately, Logan didn’t have any kids with Irene so that was okay but his step-sons were a little sad. Logan does have a kid with his half brother’s half sister........ which is something I didn’t know until I checked the family tree. MCCC things. I can’t remember her name but her last name is Pryce (which maybe makes her a distant relative of Sasha since her grandmother? was also a Pryce before she got married) But yeah, Sasha and ? Pryce are friends now. They invite Hugo (Logan’s kid) often to hang out with them. But yeah, as I was saying. Logan and Irene got a divorce and the moment the sad moodlet went away I made him propose to Sasha lol. They had a small wedding at home. Sasha’s dress is weird this time because the loading time is sooo long now (six generation problems what can i say) so i just married them in whatever the game gave them lol i like dressing the brides especially for their wedding days but yeah.. not if i have to wait 390293 years for it to load lol. Anyways, she was pregnant already but it was an accidental pregnancy (i have it 5% risk) but it doesn’t really matter she was gonna get pregnant the moment they were married anyways. Now, their careers. Sebastian was actually a really good baker, his special carrot cake recipe was famous around the neighboor and Sasha started baking thanks to her dad. She has a little bakery in Magnolia Promenade that isn’t making much money so far. Logan is a stay at home dad but he also helps at the bakery. Sasha bakes and Logan sells. Their kid is named Mackenzie.

I haven’t gone back to play with Eliott’s family again but he’s still happily married with Lauren, and he had two kids with her. Nate, who you can see, has the same tiny nose as his cousin Jack and Everly, who is still a toddler. Mary-Kate, Lauren’s kid, still lives with them. I think Nate might be the first blonde kid this family has had so far since Khloe but Khloe was already blonde when i added her to the game so. Mackenzie’s blonde too. 

Jack’s biological half-sister but actually his cousin, Esther Bradford got married pretty much the moment she aged up to a young adult. (thanks mccc) Her husband is named Ethan Grey and as you can see she’s pregnant and everything. So good for her.

I don’t think I’ll play with Eliott again but I think I could play with Esther at some point. So far I think I’ll keep trying to make Sasha’s bakery a success.

There were always high expectations for Opal. I named her after my own great-grandmother, not only as a tribute, but because this is a family, which I have now followed for nearly two years, full of elemental names. 

Opal was the second-born child of Lilac Carlile, the Original Carlile Witch. As many of you know, toddlers were nonexistent in The Sims 4, until January of this year. Consequently, Opal was my first toddler. And, even as a toddler, she displayed a great deal of magical promise. Throughout her childhood, Opal was plagued by nightmares, which generally surrounded her live-in uncle, Black Cat Stylinson. As an observer, it was actually rather disconcerting. There was sexual violence in Opal’s mother’s past, and I was concerned that, perhaps, something similar was developing, but, sensing her daughter’s fears, asked her little brother to move elsewhere. Black Cat was, years later, murdered by a particularly nasty vampire named Juniper Piña. (We’ll come right back to her, I promise). Opal’s nightmares became merely premonitions of the crime that would befall him, rather than a suggestion that he might abuse her. 

As a child, Opal was close to only two sims: her brother, Smolder, and her neighbour, Juniper. 

Smolder (photographed, above, in a chequered jumper) was already a Young Adult by the time his little sister was born, but the two were still very close, even with Smolder coming and going as he pleased until he settled down with his husband, Johnny. Opal relied on him for a great deal of emotional support -- she did not get along with either of her parents, as a child -- and spent a lot of time with his eventual family. 

Juniper, however, was not a strong pillar of support. She was a teenager, someone that Opal looked up to, but June was an extremely hot-and-cold type of friend. When she was bored, the pair would play; but when she was agitated, she went out of her way to make Opal’s life miserable. On the brink of Young Adult-hood, Juniper convinced a vampire to turn her, and as a vampire, her mission to ruin Opal’s life became an obsession. 

Shortly after this, Lilac and Sherman decided that it was time to move out of the city and away from Juniper, who continuously broke into their apartment and watched their daughter sleep. And it was in Newcrest that Opal really began to figure out who she was. She delved into herbalism on nature-hikes with her mom; she converted her own bedroom to accommodate a makeshift yoga studio; she even found a boy that she liked, named Trollop. But one night, at Discotheque Pan Europa with her friends, Opal encountered Juniper who had, unbeknownst to anyone else, taken over the club and filled it with vampires. Juniper drained Opal of her Life Force, that night, stealing from her all of her relationships and a part of her memory. 

Deciding that her daughter was unsafe, Lilac sent her to an entrusted coven. There, Opal hit the books hard, studying up to be a Vampire Hunter. It was also there that Opal met her first serious girlfriend, Naomi. The relationship was passionate, but unstable, and when Opal left, trained up enough to defend herself against Juniper’s growing Vampire Army, the pair did not keep in touch. 

When she arrived back home, however, Opal’s father, Sherman -- a quiet, loyal , but altogether dissatisfied man -- had passed away, before she ever had a chance to re-engage and re-build their relationship. Juniper had also taken over Black Cat’s apartment, frequently compelling him for sex and, eventually, getting pregnant. Once he was of no use to her, Juniper turned him, and left him outside, hallucinating in the sunlight, until he burned alive. And she did this in front of Lilac. 

Opal dove even further into vampire slaying; and slay, she did. Now, that wasn’t to say that she ever disliked vampires, as a species, but those that were aligned with Juniper Piña were fair game. She slayed a huge chunk of Juniper’s vampire army while she locked herself away to have her son. Together, Opal and Lilac finally took her down, leaving the once-fearsome vampire as little more than a powerless-human-and-single-mother. 

Finally, Opal decided it was time to live on her own. She reconnected with Naomi Hirano, her first girlfriend, and became pregnant by her. (There’s a lot of same-sex reproduction in my game. Buckle your seatbelts.) Unfortunately for Opal, after coming to terms with the idea of motherhood, she discovered that Naomi was already married to Guberg Johannesberg and that she had already had a daughter, Wendy, with her. Opal broke off the relationship despite several attempts by Naomi to repair it and, now alone, moved her widowed mother into her spare bedroom to help with the coming baby. Opal spent the entirety of her pregnancy as a Plant Sim, perhaps an allusion to the powers vested in the child within her. That child, obviously, was Lavender. 

Although juggling around single-motherhood, herself, and eventually losing her own mother to old age, Opal soon met and fell head-over-fucking-heels with Grey McCollough (pictured above, see: wedding). [Note: Smolder’s husband, Johnny, died by Sunlight at the wedding.] Naomi still came around every couple of days to see Lavender, but the Grey, Opal, and Lav became an instant, seamless, little family. So, when Lavender was a little older, they decided to have another. Grey was the one who carried Amethyst, the younger of Opal’s two daughters. And, in may ways, Amethyst took after Grey a great deal more than she did Opal. She was not born with the violet eyes that she, Lavender, Lilac, Smolder, and Smolder’s eldest daughter, Britta, all possessed; instead, she had Grey’s bright blues. Instead of being interested in the family magic, like Lavender was, Amethyst shied away from it. Opal encouraged her to practice Wellness, but that was as far as Amethyst’s exploration ever went. 

After Lavender became a teen, and after Opal’s yoga studio took off, tensions began to rise in their family unit. Suddenly, Lavender and Grey were no longer getting along, but rather shouting at each other, almost constantly. Finally, Grey had enough, and she left Opal. The pair split custody -- one week on, one week off -- throughout Amethyst’s childhood, leaving Opal’s home-life on opposite ends of the spectrum: either incredibly calm and docile, or horrendously chaotic and stressful. She also took to attending a sex-club built underneath Planet Honey Pop! karaoke bar, to drown her sorrows.

Lavender left that environment the day she could, despite high relationships with her mother and her sister, to embark upon a spirit quest; desperate for human contact on her off-weeks, Opal invited her brother Smolder to live in Lavender’s old bedroom. Smolder, whose youngest daughter had just given birth to twins and desperately needed a place to stay, gave her the keys to his apartment and moved in with his baby sister, where he remained until he died of Old Age, Johnny’s urn still poised upon his computer desk.

LATEST (and last, for the moment) SGI BUILDINGS:

I finished the bakery exterior and the two bigger parks: Willow Park is now full of tulips (it’s a fine place to unwind, connect with mother nature and take some pics) and Bluebell Park has sort of an amusement park, food stands and a bandstand with a piano for the island’s musicians. The useless hospital is also here, heh (but it may work as a school? A museum? A militar academy? Whatever).

(I feel the need to say my park is heavily inspired by the lovely @pottery-sims’ pier pictures. I couldn’t ditch the idea of all those bright glowing machines all in one place in my world, so here they are c:)

My world is still mostly empty, but at least now my sims can go out on the streets and pretend they aren’t in a ghost town. HA. Violet Square’s empty spaces are what bothers me the most, but I’m really out of ideas about what to do next...
