🦇 Simply Vampiric Legacy Challenge 🦇

This is a short legacy challenge focusing on the Vampires Pack. I made this to motivate me to play through all of the vampire aspirations with each generation having a bit of lore. Some of the rules and requirements are inspired by The Sims 4: Vampire Legacy by sims4lizzyuk!  You can find the image version of the rules here.

• Start your save in the fall • Move into one of the unoccupied lots in Forgotten Hollow  • Each generation must complete and max out their given aspiration, skills, and career. • All coven leaders must max Vampire Lore • If any of your vampire sims die you may not resurrect them and must keep their graves on one of your lots in Forgotten Hollow • You can only travel outside of Forgotten Hollow at night unless you have the sun resistance trait or drink the sun resistance cocktail • Only vampires are allowed to live in your household. If any of your children aren’t born vampires you must either turn them or banish them. All partners who live with you MUST be turned.

🦇 The Coven 🦇

If you have Get Together use the club feature to create your coven. The first “leader” should be your first sim’s spouse. When a new heir is chosen they become the leader of the “coven” when they age up to a young adult. You must fill up all club spots for each generation with their immediate family and sims that they’ve turned. You must have a dinner party every time a new sim is turned to celebrate the occasion.

Most of the vampires have been lost to a centuries-long war with Spellcasters. Your partner is the leader of the coven and although they’ve been doing an adequate job it hasn’t been enough to preserve it. You take it upon yourself to breathe new life into this desolate town and persuade your partner to appoint you as the new leader. Other vampires question your aspiration to become the new leader of the coven and wonder if you’re stuck in an old fashioned way of thinking. They begin to push against your leadership. How can they believe  being friends with humans is acceptable? It’s like playing with your food! You’re able to subdue the coven’s apprehension of your newfound leadership with your charismatic personality. The question is how long will they be under your vampiric charm?

🦇 Vampire Family Aspiration Traits: Ambitious, Self-Absorbed, Self Assured Skills: Charisma and Mischief Color: Red Career: Painter Vampire Power: Influence Emotion Weakness: Insatiable Thirst, Withered Stomach Goals • Marry one of the three premade vampires: Vlad, Lilith, or Caleb • Convince your spouse to  appoint you as the coven’s new leader • Have vampire twins

💜 Generation Two 💜

You’ve been trained in the dark arts since you were a child, however, you plan to make changes to the coven for the better. You truly believe that humans and vampires can live in harmony. After decades of trying to perfect your plasma pack recipe you’re finally able to go out with humans without feeling an unquenchable thirst. With your expertise in human anatomy you become a doctor at a hospital that’s out of town where you meet your partner. You’re aware that being in a career where you help humans is tabu enough. The coven would question your authority if you knew you were in love with a human. Your partner asks you if you’ll turn them into a vampire even if it goes against everything you believe in to be able to stay together. You’ll do anything for the love of your life. After all, a love like this only comes to you once in an eternal lifetime. Can you live with yourself knowing you took your partner’s chance at a “normal” life or will you give up on true love and marry someone from the coven?

🖤 Generation Three 🖤

All you’ve ever known is life as a vampire. Although living for centuries has its perks you’ve grown quite bored of Forgotten Hollow. You’ve only read about the way humans live, meanwhile, they read the stories in your books written of vampires you’ve published as “fiction”. You wonder if there’s more to life than just… living. One day you come across an ancient vampire tome which speaks of a cure to vampirism. You’ve been given a great task as the new leader of the coven and feel great loyalty to them but is your need to live amongst humans more important than your family, and more importantly, are you willing to give up your eternal life?

BTVS soul mechanics are very vague and the entire concept opens up a can of worms but I guess the easiest way I can make the distinction in my head is that Spike when soulless learns to stop Doing Bad Things bc Buffy doesn't approve and that hurts her. He has to actually learn to recognize what that even means, bc stuff like chaining her and Drusilla up or building the Buffybot doesn't immediately strike him as Wrong, he's acting on pure impulse and what he Wants in that moment. But for Buffy, he'll do good and refrain from being bad. He'll even go to exceptional lengths to protect those she cares for because That's What Buffy Wants. He is able to get better at this too! He even cares about and loves some of those ppl himself. He can start to sus out what wrong and right is by using Buffy as his moral compass.

Versus! An ensouled Spike doesn't do bad things because it hurts him. It makes him guilty, he feels regret for the pain he causes. He's even able to articulate Buffy's own moral failings and call her out for the hurt she's caused him, rather than blindly following whatever she demands of him. In the church he recoils from her, tells her to not touch him and asks if he's just flesh to her. Buffy is no longer the center of his moral universe, there's a world of right and wrong outside of what she wants or what she asks of him. Killing is wrong because it's the ending of human life, not because Buffy doesn't approve. His guilt and pain is centered around his own conscience, he has to literally relearn all of these things for himself. His redemption ironically becomes a little more selfish with the soul, bc it's no longer just about being what Buffy needs and deserves, but also about saving himself and learning to be more than just a monster, rekindling that man that he once was before his humanity was stolen away from him

Um... we found out Caleb Vatore has a girlfriend so I went into CAS and gave her new clothes and makeup but this randomly generated sim is so cute what the heck!

so I was talking with one of my friends about all of our opinions on bangel, and he mentioned how he didn't think spuffy was any better than bangel, only different. and I choked the debate bc I hadn't expected the topic switch, but it's been a day and I thought it over a little more. and what I think a key difference is between bangel and spuffy, and what makes spuffy a million times more tolerable for me, is the respect aspect

he doesn't like either ship bc of the age gaps. he finds both incredibly weird. and I don't care, because it's a show with vampire love interests, and none of it is real. but I think what makes bangel worse is that angel emphasizes the age gap, a lot. he talks down to buffy, or doesn't discuss with her at all. he speaks with giles like an equal and calls all of buffy's friends kids. one of my favourite lines is literally buffy calling angel her "cradle-robbing, creature-of-the-night boyfriend." he calls buffy a child and a brat when he's upset with her. bangel makes the imbalance not only clear, but it's a large part of their relationship in general that is never properly addressed by anyone in the show, let alone the two of them

but spike treats buffy as his equal, always. whether she's his enemy, his reluctant ally, his friend, or his lover. through all stages of their relationship has spike seen her as an equal. and while he talks down to the people in her life, it's not because he genuinely sees them as lesser, it's because he hates all of them. you can see who he treats with respect and who he doesn't is based purely on how much he likes them, not because he's over a century old and thinks that alone makes him better than them. there's a difference. they fight and they piss each other off and they love each other and never once did spike try and lord his age over her as a reason why he was better than her

I think spike sort of grows with the scoobies, like being around younger folk makes him younger in turn. he flows with them, he works off of them. and even then, he just seems to be mentally around the same age groups as the scoobies, if how he treats giles and especially joyce is any indication. angel is static, though. he's not on their level and he won't even try to fit into buffy's world. he doesn't want to. and maybe spuffy would be the same if they'd genuinely started off when she was sixteen, but I just don't think so...
