Oddly, being stuck altogether had some good sides too. Timu had the feeling that the clan was strenghtening its ties. They shared a rare intimacy caused by their enforced promiscuity. Tensions had almost totally disappeared, to his relief and joy. Timu noticed that Vhra and Rhan had grown feelings of mutual respect and appreciation, which was a good thing. Being pregnant and showing, Iva was pampered by her peers, and the general mood in the cave was at its best. To Timu’s satisfaction, he got to get closer to Vhra, who was still impressed by his sight and would usually keep avoiding being alone with him. Rhan was still resolutely distant, but she was definitely warming up to him, what he considered a great achievement ; though he couldn’t really explain why, it brought him a great delight.

the twins always bring friends home with them from school these days. even though they're both very outgoing, katie struggles a bit to make friends compared to chloe. she's usually off on her own, and hasn't made any close friends yet.

she also struggles a lot with school, and almost always has multiple days of homework piled up. jamie has started doing katie's homework for her in the middle of the night to keep her caught up.

been thinking about the monty family today. nobody does enough with the fact that Patrizio is a retired celebrity chef and that an Isabella lookalike is on The Yummy Channel... i like to think they had their own cooking show a few decades ago when the (now adult) kids were young. specifically one that leaned hard into the whole idea of making family meals, almost to the point that the "Monty family" was a part of the zietgeist as the perfect ideal household. the kids featured often either eating the food or (adorably for b footage) "helping" with cooking. of course gossip magazines were almost too invasive about the family leading to their eventual full retirement. A lot of celebrity chefs keep it going until they are very old, as just slapping their face on products or guest starring on competitions is still a feasible task well into elderhood, and while you can always fall back on "they decided to focus on the family restaurant" that business itself would already have been taken on by Claudio/Antonio/Bianca. i never really came up with a full hc about what exactly the Capp family does but I've been playing with the idea of them being some kind of media tycoon (since they don't really appear to do anything with real estate like the landgraabs or major scholarly advancements like the goths or have celebrity references the way a lot of other wealthy sim families do) in a behind-the-scenes logistics kind of way. Consort's promise might have been to protect his friend from the nasty parts of fame - tabloids, paparazzi, etc, but in part because Patrizio is hot-headed and talkative and because maybe the Capps are already well too aware of how much more profitable controversy is it ended up falling apart. obviously Patrizio blames Consort for not keeping his promise because he was nervous about entering fame in the first place, and he can only rant about betrayal so much before the Capps have to double down and really start retaliating to protect their own success. nowadays the pop culture focus of the issue is one of those bygone controversies to the average sim, something old people will sometimes talk about while getting their hair done and whatever but bringing up the Montys to most people elicit a "that old cooking show that has reruns on weekday mornings?? what about it?"

headcanon: nervous subject is deaf/hard of hearing (caused by tinnitus)

im in an infodumping mood so bare with me

repeated electrocution can cause tinitus, which can cause hearing loss. nervous very notably goes thru a lot of electrocution in game - therefore, i think it wld be a reasonable assumption to assume hes deaf bc of this

i have a small idea connecting to this, taken from my experiences as a deaf person, to make nervous give the curious brothers and other people he's comfortable with 'sign names'

for those who dont know, sign language was extremely frowned upon and even outlawed across schools and more in the uk. people would be beat if they were caught signing instead of using verbal language. with this, came many subtleties and nuances in sign language, one of these being a sign name. often a sign name is a nickname a deaf person gives to another deaf person in the community. in relation to hearing people getting sign names, it was used to identify safe hearing people that wouldnt be dangerous to be around

a sign name, in its purest form, is a nickname that uses any word symbollicaly to represent someone. this can literally be anything about the person, their appearance, their personality, etc. for example my sign name is 'red' because i have red hair and that was the thing that stuck out most to my teacher when i started re-attending bsl lessons after a while.

given this, i think nervous would give sign names to peoples hes the closest with.

i already assigned the sign for 'cat' with ophelia be a. she looks like a cat with her big eyes, and b. is very skittish like one.

another example is for lazlo, he assigned him the finger guns symbol as his sign name bc thats the gesture lazlo always does when he walks by someone in game, so i imagine that was nervous' first impression of him

giggling to myself imagining nervous assigning pascal a sign name thats equivalent to something suggestive or dumb in asl and then when pascal learns asl from nervous, nervous refuses to teach him what his sign name means x)

bonus hcs:

- pascal scolds him for not wearing his hearing aid. nervous doesnt like wearing it bc theres horrible feedback sounds + everything sounds very ""roboticy" when he wears a hesring aid (based on my experiences again) so he refuses but then when theyre in public or even in a group conversation at home like he cannot understand a single thing and no one can really talk to him effectively. endless cycle of bickering

- pascal + nervous teach tycho baby sign & continue to teach him ASL as he grows up. he's a CODA kid :-)

the other day i said in the tags of a rb that i was considering making tank grunt a trans woman in my save, and i did in fact do that! her name is odette now :3 i like to give my sims magical instant transitions with simpe but if you don't that's also super cool!

she's currently in her last semester of university, studying drama. i'll be putting her in the dance career after she graduates :o)

here she is with her fiancée, klara vonderstein! a rarepair, i know, but they have INCREDIBLE chemistry. what would their ship name be...odara? klarette?

With the boar Timu brought home, the fishes left to dry and the wolf Rhan killed earlier that day, there was plenty of food available for the tribe. The tomatoes plants weren't giving just yet, but the heat wasn't helping, even Vhra couldn't get around to make the plants healthier, and she was usually pretty good when it came to it. All in all though, all the bellies were full so it wasn't much of a concern for now.

Rhan grabbed a plate and came sit close to Vhra. She noticed Vhra wasn't in shape. She looked really tired, even after a good night of sleep. Truth be told, Vhra was feeling a little sad that Iva had claimed her son. Her baby boy was only inches away but it felt as if a river had them parted. Rhan reckoned motherhood was all too complicated. She thought she wouldn't mind letting Iva take care of hers, when the time comes. Deep down, Rhan isn't convinced she's got the skills for the job, and if anything, she thinks Vhra should be thankful to benefit from Iva's help, whose children turned out well and in good health.

But Vhra doesn't hear it. She speaks about leaving again, in a muffled, weak voice. Rhan says it's not a good idea, not now at least. She's so big she can barely move anymore, and she feels ready to burst. She really hopes the baby in her doesn't take too long to come out now. Unlike Vhra's, Rhan's pregnancy isn't going so well. She feels weak all the time, and the nausea lasted all the while. Back to that night when she killed the wolf... She really had a hard time raising her spear, and she didn't like it one bit.

Rhan says she's never having kids again after this one, and Vhra gives her the look. Does Rhan think Timu will let her be? Vhra saw the way Timu looks at Rhan when he thinks no one's looking. She hasn't seen it for herself, not even for Iva. Rhan shrugs, and chuckles. She's making Timu's while worth it, that is true! As long as she's pregnant, there's no risk after all. Vhra looks at her, blushing. Does Iva know? Of course she doesn't know, Rhan shrugs again. Iva doesn't want to see it. If Iva was to know though, and if she didn't like it like that, Rhan would fight her, as simple as that. Vhra shivered. She was never a fighter, punches and pain frightened her so much! Rhan laughed ; well she didn't.

Come to think of it, it'd been several nights in a row that Rhan didn't make it to the tent at all. Vhra supposed it was her insomnia striking again, but... As she finished her plate, a simple thought hit her. Maybe if Rhan showed so reluctant to the idea of leaving... it was because she cared about Timu too, maybe more than she'd care to admit.

Her nausea were still hitting hard, but Rhan wasn't a victim. She decided to take the twins out fishing. There's never enough salted fish, she said, to which Iva couldn't argue.

Timu thought it a good idea. They would use that time to tend the garden, in hopes that the tomatoes grow.

When the night came, the three hadn't yet come back.

Iva watched as Timu gave the boy a couple pats, all her instincts up. She wanted to be a mother again so bad! She loved seeing him as a father. It was too bad it wasn't Iva's son but Vhra's! As if to remind her, Vhra entered the cave. She had removed her garments, ready for nurturing, and Iva growled a low-pitched growl.

After she was sent back to the tent, Iva tried to get close to Timu, but he blatantly rejected her. Every night since the baby was born, Iva had yet shown mercy, and he couldn't take it any more. If to sleep, Iva's allowed in the bed again!

Iva's never been so hurt by him in the past. Indeed, it was the very first time he denied her his favours, and it was hard to swallow. She curled up around herself and cried silently. Had she been too much. Blinded as she was by her want of motherhood, she didn't notice the change in Timu's behaviour. As his woman, Iva had to fix that. She promised herself she'd work for him and not against him, starting the next day. She'd show up as his wife, as it was supposed to be. Maybe that was the reason she couldn't get pregnant? Maybe she needed to let go.

Comforted and optimistic, she slipped under the sheets. To her relief, Timu didn't reject her this time. Actually, he cuddled her, and they spent the night wrapped around each others, just like that.
