I was thinking about Bugtopia a lot recently. If there’s one thing I’d change, I’d turn it into more of an anthology series.

I think the biggest mistake I made with the Originals series is that I tried to give all the characters an arc, rather than leave it to a few. I thought my cast in the canvas series was a little flat and tried to give them a bigger story with themes and motives, but then I realized “oh, keeping track of 10 different stories that are completely disconnected in one season can be pretty tiresome.”

not that i find this to be a bad thing it’s just Different and i miss it bc i really liked these details in ch 1&2. but things i noticed in chapters 3&4 that are absent:

-there’s no ‘the mini boss heals themself with almond milk’ (unless I’m missing it? iirc lanino&elnina and jackenstein are their chapters respective mini bosses, but neither of them heal, i’m not sure you even Can hit jackenstein?)

-none of the new shopkeeper characters got shop sprites (i was going to say ramb and the old man, but no ramb wasn’t even a shopkeeper was he. it was just the vending machine. i was honestly expecting the old man at least to get one to resemble gerson’s ut shop sprite)

-and no New characters got dialogue portraits (you could say tenna did Technically, but that’s just his regular overworld sprites cropped, it’s not Dedicated art(☝️WHICH IS FINE)(i do think lanino and elnina probably should have gotten ones though, if maybe just little ones like clover and scc have, bc it is hard to tell who of the two of them is talking sometimes, they don’t even move or open/close their mouths in their overworld sprites like some characters do). and then in castle town tenna doesn’t have a talk sprite at all, just the *)

I think I’ve been disappointed by Super Bowl halftime shows ever since Katy Perry set the bar too high in 2015. Like, come on. The aerial entrance? The giant moving light-up tiger? Fricken Left Shark which became a meme. All the outfit changes. Like don’t get me wrong there have been some cool half-time shows since then, but not on Katy Perry’s level.

sorry im still so fucking unwell about the bingge vs bingmei extra. not only did he get this little glimpse into a world where he's loved, but he goes home with evidence of it on him -- the disciple robes, and the little braid sqq sneakily put in his hair. can you imagine bingge going back to his world and realizing there's a delicate little braid in his hair, put there by the shizun that loved him and treated him tenderly. im going to eat gravel.

Yesterday was wild because I've never been in a situation in my life where I'm just driving normally down the highway heading to the airport and then off to the left of the road you can just casually see a volcano erupting
