My boyfriend, Matt, has been on the phone with his little sister the entire way to the airport.

This is her first time flying by herself and she just got off the plane so Matt is trying to walk her through it.

Chris and Nick have been talking excitedly about the plans they have made for her while they got their vlog camera ready.

I however, was nurvously picking at my nails, wondering what their sister will be like.

Will she like me?

I was pulled from my thoughts as I felt a hand on my thigh.

“Stop worrying baby. It’s gonna be fine.” He says in a low tone.

I smile and hold his hand, praying that he’s right.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything as cute as Matt’s little sister sprinting into his outstretched arms.

Normally, he would call this cringy behavior, but I know he's so happy to see her, that he secretly enjoys it.

She does the same to Chris and Nick, somehow showing all of her love for them in one tight squeeze.

Then she came over to me.

I was shocked when she wrapped her small frame around me, hugging me tight.

I looked up at Matt, giving him the Are you seeing how cute this is? look.

He smiles back at me proudly while grabbing his little sister's bags.

Pulling away, but still holding my hand, she pulls me with her to the car behind her brothers.

To celebrate the little sister's safe journey across the country, we indulged in a pizza movie night for the occasion.

I was snuggled into Matt's side on the end of the couch, and both of us snuggled into a blanket while we held hands.

Matt's sister was on his right, leaning into Chris on her other side.

It was safe to say that the siblings had a very close relationship, just judging by how they cuddled close together on the couch.

At the end of the movie, Nick stood grabbed our plates, and started to clean up. Just as Matt and I were about to do the same, Chris began tickling his little sister with no mercy.

Matt was quick to join in, the trio laughing as her brothers held her down.

Once they gave in, she was half upside down and breathing heavily, smacking her brothers on the leg as they walked away to go and help Nick.

"You ready for bed, baby?" Matt asked me, seeing me yawn from m spot on the island.

I nodded and stood, giving everyone a quick goodnight hug.

But as I went to see their little sister, she was fast asleep in her spot on the couch.

Smiling lightly to myself, I called Chris over.

"You might wanna move her before she gets too comfy." I laughed as he scooped her up into his arms and whisked her off to bed.

I wasn't far behind, only I followed Matt, snuggling into his warmth as we lay down in his bed.

Who knew a light coming all the way from downstairs could be so annoying.

It was the middle of the night and got up to pee, but haven't been able to fall back into my slumber thanks to the obnoxious LED light coming from the kitchen.

Giving up on any more rest, I kept out of the room and made my way down the stairs, to be met with a sight I was not expecting.

The Sturniolo sister was there, scrolling on her phone as tears poured from her eyes onto her cheeks.

I hesitantly sat next to her, and when she tried to stop her tears, I pulled her in for a hug, only making her sob harder.

"What's wrong sweetheart? Do you need me to go get Matt?" I asked, rubbing her back in an attempt to soothe her.

She shook her head no and calmed herself, taking in a deep breath before saying,

"I just miss my brothers being at home so much. But I also miss not being with my mom and dad. I wish they could just come home with me." She said, sheepishly.

I gave her a sympathetic smile.

"Your brothers talk about you every day. They miss you just as much, but that's what makes these visits so special. You get to spend special time together." I said.

this seemed to cheer her up slightly. She sighed and smiled before leaning in and giving me a tight hug.

"Thank you," she mumbles into my shoulder.

"Any time kiddo. I'm always here, just as much as your brothers."

hawaii is a beautiful place. you truly never want to leave.

this trip is for madi’s eighteenth birthday, and you were practically begged to come. not only you, but nate came along, too.

the thing about nate is that you’re in love with him. literally.

you guys have been dating for roughly seven months, and nobody knows about it. it’s only a thing between you and him.

it genuinely feels nice for it to be you and his thing, but it does get annoying because you have to sneak around.

personally, you wouldn’t mind if your brothers never found out. they can’t kill you, but they will hawk nate and kill him.

glancing around the store, you fidget with the straps of your tank top. “nate, come on.”

he glances at you and then back at the condom boxes. the triplets are vlogging the trip thus far, and you guys walked away to come over to this section.

“nathan.”

he sighs, grabbing a box. “you worry about them too much, baby. we’re fine.”

“they can turn down one of these aisles any second and we’ll be busted.” you whisper-yell, pointing around the store.

he pays for it, and just as you guys turn around you hear voices. “hey guys.” nick greets, looking down at the bag. “what’d you get?”

“some deodorant. i forgot mine at home.” nate answers, nudging your arm softly.

the man-children are recording themselves playing with a ball in an open grass area by the hotel, you and madi watching them from afar. you sigh annoyingly, looking down at your watch.

“i’m going to go up to the room,” you yell, cupping your hands around your mouth so they can hear. they stop playing, focusing now on you. “need to go to the bathroom.”

they give you the okay, and before you know it you’re walking into the hotel suite.

you scroll on your phone, a few minutes passing by before the door opens. you grin widely, nate shutting the door behind him.

he comes over to you and snakes his arms around your waist to pull you close. “i missed you.”

you giggle. “you just saw me.”

sighing, he pulls you into a kiss. the way your mouths move in sync has you craving more. this is the first time you guys are alone, let alone a kiss that’s not a millisecond long.

he pulls away and lifts you, your legs dangling on his sides so he can take you to the bed he’s sharing with chris.

he lays you down, kissing your jaw before taking off your shorts. “how much time do you think we have?” you ask.

he shrugs. “like i said before, they’re loud. we’ll hear them coming.”

you blush at his boston accent, one much stronger than yours and your brother’s. even though you’ve heard him talk a hundred times, it’ll always make your heart flutter.

he leaves wet kisses up your chest and neck while he pulls down his bottoms. his kisses finalize on your lips. “i love you a lot.”

you bite your lip, smiling. “i love you too.”

he reaches into the plastic bag he put on the nightstand and grabs the condom box. he rips off one of them and opens it, putting it on when he throws the wrapper somewhere on the ground.

your hands run along his back as he starts to thrust into you, low moans leaving your body.

nate’s thrusts are soft and slow, but it feels more intimate and comforting. you hate the phrase ‘making love’, but it seems like you’re doing just that.

he leans down to kiss you passionately again, his hands flat next to your head. he pulls away, his nose rubbing against yours.

breathing heavily, he moves his hips at a medium pace, going deeper inside of you and just about hitting your g-spot.

your sounds are more high-pitched now, with some profanities flowing through the air as well.

you try to hide your smile, but your face turning beat red gives you away.

her mouth hangs open. “no. way.”

“we’re dating.” you start. “we have been for about seven months. we started talking on my birthday last year, and it escalated from there.”

“omg!” she squeals. “this is the best birthday gift i’ve ever received and it doesn’t even involve me.”

you laugh. “please don’t tell my brothers. they’ll have a heart attack if they find out.”

Polaroid picture frames

Hi everyone! During my 2nd/personal visit to Dutch Hospitals, I took many pictures of the exterior, interior, shops, restaurants, etc. to add into a polaroid picture frame and place unto the background. I did the editing for this on photoshop.

This is the polaroid picture frame I used -

Dutch Hospitals Interior: -

These pictures will show on screen once the narrator introduces 'Dutch Hospitals' as the hotspot to visit.

2. Recommended restaurants in the animatic :-

In the vlog/animatic, the narrator mainly talks about 'Ceylon Curry Club', 'Masala Island', and the 'Colombo Fort Cafe'. The rest of the Polaroid pictures will be shown towards the end of the narrator's recommendation list.

3. Luv SL: -

I will be showing the entrance to the store, the graphic t-shirts and the eco-friendly stationary/ accessories the store has to offer.

4. Lak Shilpa:-

The pictures of 'Lak Shilpa' are mainly from what I had taken on our field trip visit to Dutch Hospitals. These pictures show most of the beautiful and ecofriendly crafts made by talented Sri Lankan craftsman.

5. Spa Ceylon:-

Last but not least, pictures of Spa Ceylon's colorful and vibrant interior and products will be shown.

Japanese and Katakana

With 127 million speakers leading into the 21st century, Japanese is the primary language of Japan.

According to Merriam Webster, a lingua franca is a language or languages among varying common “commercial tongues among peoples of diverse speech” (“Definition of Lingua Franca,” n.d.) Many people with Japanese as a native language do see English as their lingua franca. My first language is English. I would consider myself lucky to have my native language is a lingua franca around the world, but as someone who desires to travel to Japan with as much perspective as possible, learning Japanese may be in my best interest. Though in America, I sense our primary lingua franca may be Spanish. Having English as a lingua franca would impact my ability to communicate effectively with people from Japan in a positive way. I imagine the conversation would go more smoothly than if English was not my lingua franca.

Look up how to say the following words and phrases in at least one of the primary languages of the country you are studying. Write out the pronunciation for each word or, if you're preparing a vlog post, speak each word aloud.

Hello! – Kon’nichiwa - Yes - Hai - No - Īe - Please - Onegaishimasu - Thank You - Arigatō - Can you help me? - Tetsudatte itadakemasu ka? - I don't understand - Rikaidekinai - I don't speak (name of the language) - Watashi wa nihongo o hanasemasen - My name is (your name) - Watashinonamaeha morīdesu

Most of these words and phrases were hard to pronounce. Though after some practice and repeating these words/phrases out loud more than three times, I can say them. To remember them, I would need to practice them daily. Knowing these few phrases could be very beneficial while traveling to Japan. Many people may speak English as a lingua franca there, but travel would be easier and more enjoyable knowing a few phrases in Japanese at the very least.
