Prop art for Project Fish. Some things you'd typically see at a Li-Luan port.

These props are inspired by things you'd normally see at urban areas within south-asian communities.

I dug deep into what’s been inspiring me to create art for Ormauk recently, and a lot of it has been my relationship with nature as an adult, but especially more so when I was a kid. I grew up a short walk away from the beach. The town that I lived in was outside of the city, but you couldn’t really classify it as suburbia. There were empty plots of land filled with guinea grass growing taller than us kids. Unfinished foundations of houses that sat undisturbed for most of my life; overgrown and abandoned. There was a small pasture for cows behind my house where frogs croaked their hymns when rain fell and created ponds. Overhead cables and graffitied electrical transformers had a specific vibe that I just don't see where I live now.

I wanted to show my version of solarpunk, and it finally clicked with me how I can achieve this; by mixing those snapshots of my childhood with thematically designed technology that fit that south-asian culture I’m trying to emulate. A bit of what exists now and what could exist.

I hate and I love it at the same time the nuance and under elaborated character that is Effie Trinket because chronologicaly we now that she only got to the games to help her sister, that her family has something of a dark past, are kind of ostracized and that's why she works so hard, we know then that she was offered to stay and work by Plutarch (suspicious), we know that she cares about the people around her (with her many flaws) she's a supporter and caregiver, and then after 25 years she's still human and caring but she also believes in the capitol, perhaps "having to give respect to the Trinket name" is the reason she's so obssesed with control and appearances, but then after 25 years, watching more than 50 children die, watching 2 win and spending almost a year developing a relationship and bond with them, facing the possibilty of losing them both she tells them "you two are all I've got", what happened to her sister? what happened to her family, did they broke apart? was she casted away for something? did she took the choice to break ties with them? someone who protect (in her way) 2 children she had known for a couple years, you can't tell me there's nothing else behind Effie, and i just need more, this curiosity is going to be the end of me

Meet Marix, Xivo's counterpart. Whereas Xivo can create beginnings where there are none, Marix sees the destination of all things. This Goddess lacks the ability to create, but her clairvoyance allows her the wisdom to know where things should go.

Despite their differences, they adore one another.

Age of Calamity is such a funny game when you think about it because most of the characters go through Events and use their strengths and suffer hardships and stuff, but honestly they mostly end the game the same as they started it. It’s not “bad storytelling” or anything to have most of the main characters (Link, the Champions, Impa, etc) not change very much character-growth wise, I’m not insinuating that. They’re heroes and it’s fun to watch them BE heroes and in some cases have nice heartfelt moments together, etc.

But it’s just hilarious to me that the characters in the game who DO get some form of character development arc are:

3. King Rhoam (a distant third place but he does realize his kid’s interests were helpful not frivolous and he apologizes and lets her continue leading the army and fights by her side)

2. Zelda (expected, she is the main character after all, and she gets to grow from doubting herself based on her father’s words and how special and talented everyone around her seems to be in comparison, and being upset at not being able to help more, to realizing her worth as a capable leader whose love and passions were what saved everyone)

1. MASTER FUCKIN KOHGA (goes from trying to peace out and let his lackeys take care of every fight, to desperately NOT wanting to leave Sooga and the others behind (poorly and obviously hiding it behind “come on stick together so you can protect me!” while he as the PC for your first play of that mission is clearly doing all the work to protect them); ends up not only joining Zelda’s faction to protect/get revenge for his Clan despite his hereditary beef with the royal family, but PERSONALLY taking to the battlefield including in the final deadly dangerous missions; declares during that final battle that HE is gonna “send that giant menace packing,” ie the very same monstrous entity he previously served)

Like. It’s not even close. Master “Top Banana” “Kill You All To Death” Kohga. Has THE most character development in the game.

And it’s just. So unexpected and therefore great and entertaining to me.

Been busy busy working on a lot of things recently. Commission, Halloween events, just generally trying to exist; I'll share more after I get past this busy week. Or maybe I won't who knows.

lets say Shaw manages to start the cold war and now most of the planet is destroyed and nearly everyone is dead except for a select few (cherik)

it’s been a year since they all started living in the mansion’s bunker and things are not going well 🙁❌❌

food and water are getting low, people are having fights, two people died while going outside and cherik are not talking to eachother because they had a really bad fight or something (idk i need some form of tension for them to overcome)

lets say for story sake, Charles needs to go on a quest to find a missing item for Hank’s new invention that’s probably important and Erik decides to go with him

and then yadda yadda yadda, they traverse through the wastelands, meet new societies, nearly die a few times, get over themselves and makeup/out, find the item they were looking for and somehow make it back to the bunker faster than how they left

uhh happily ever after except you can still barely breath the air

Alright, at this point I’m following I don’t even know how many Cult of the Lamb artists so it’s time to post a piece I made a while back. Hope y’all like it :)
