WIPs, as of now

Hi, there! Just dropping by to say, in case anyone is wondering, this is how my next one-shots are going! I love all the requests but unfortunately, my brain only works for writing if I'm in the right mood. All of these below, are the ones I have started writing.

MV1 + CL16: part 3 of everything I wanted✅

SV5 [request]: Seb and pregnant wife, whose water breaks while he's in the middle of a race he crashes. A lil angsty, HEA.

CS55: Carlos and best friend, during the ups and downs of life, until they come into a tipping point in their relationship. Full angst.

FA14 [request]: Fernando and Sainz!Reader who's a single mom and is fully unware of the beautiful friendship her daughter is forming with Fernando on the paddock. Just fluff.

CL16: Charles and girlfriend navigating the ending of their relationship. Angst. (possible part 2/open ending)✅

FA14 [request]: Fernando and journalist reader throughout the years, enemies to lovers. Angst and Fluff.

2022!GRID: Driver!Reader tells the grid about her plans to retire by the end of the season, and the other drivers decide to do something to change her mind. Hurt/Comfort.

2023!GRID: After a wild night in Vegas, part of the grid try to find their way and put the pieces together to find out what happened. Heavily inspired by The Hangover (2009). Pretty much crack fic lol.

Max only nudges a sweaty knee between Charles’s with a grin. Eyes taking a trip to the back of his head, Charles presses back against it, lifts up on an elbow. “It is race week.”

Max raises to meet him; the neckline of his loose tee goes gently tumbling to the cliff of his shoulder. He looks aggravatingly, ignorantly ethereal. “Wouldn’t want you to strain your back.”

“Would not want you to strain yours,” retorts Charles smitingly.

Max grins. “Original.” Mouth open, might be about to say something more, so Charles shoves him onto his back and seals the hole.

Fingers on the folds of his race suit. Cold tap, cold water. Face flush with it, fractured ice against ardent flame. The world wakes, races, sleeps, repeats. It holds close the spilling glass, spinning grass. Rush of wheels, kicking. Lighting tarmac like flint. The scorch of footprints left on sand in the sun so long, cooked, burning. Still raw.

anyway i have been effectively shoved through the doubt stage so, is it narcissistic to say i absolutely adore this wip??? but it's one of those where it feels like it HAS to be perfect so sharing it is a little ahhh but the brainworms for it wriggled into existence after all the goddamn maxplaining and soft looks and cHaRLeS iS tHaT ThE mOnAco fLaG??? predominantly the soft looks tho (soft_wilted_cabbage.jpg as discussed) like dawg embarazzing. my favorite part (that i feel okay to share):

“How long?” asks Charles. “Have you, um,” he tries to elaborate when Max looks at him questioningly, but this is exactly the problem. Because Max looks at him like he has a thousand times before when that shouldn’t be the case, and it is the only thing Charles can think. 

Fortunately, Max seems to get it anyway. “I am not sure,” he says. “More than a year, I think. Probably more than two — a while, but I did not know what to call it, really.”

This is the thing about Max. Where Charles would worry or slant his words, Max simply. Says it. It makes it easier for him to glance out of the window for a moment, then say, “How does it feel?”

For a few seconds, Max only thinks. “A lot.” Charles blinks at him, waiting. Something that feels like a large mass of air growing in his chest. Horror, maybe, but he doesn’t remember it feeling like this — weightless. Max speaks to the clouds outside, hands folding over one other. “It is very difficult not to notice you — that is annoying sometimes, actually. It feels like I am always searching for your face. You have a nice face, by the way.“ That makes Charles laugh, and tilt said face a little into his seat. It is far from the first time he’s been complimented, but there is something so completely different about hearing it right now, with Max looking at him out of the corner of his eye like this, a grin lifting his mouth. “And a nice laugh.”

“Do you stalk my instagram,” says Charles, half teasing, half desperately trying to divert attention away from the growing heat in his cheeks.

Max tips his head up, stretching his legs out in front of him as his eyes close. “Only in bed. Now shh, I am going back to sleep.” 

So Charles is left, suddenly, to deal with a completely different heat. Which he does so by burrowing into his hoodie and trying not to look at Max. 

He succeeds in exactly one of these things.
