First Family Camping Trip!

I honestly had so many photos of this trip that i had to cut like 6 out. I imagine they went an early fall morning and got set up! Ruby is standing on her own now! She is a genius so..i'm sure she's got that shit down.

I'm so in love with this family. I cry thinking about them xD i love sharing them too so i'm glad I ended up loving them!!

Anyways!

gameplay wise, Noa has quit 3 jobs. I kid you not. I just am unsure what I want her to do rn. Zia got a promotion in her culinarily career, and i think we are going to start gardening and collecting with her. She has the gatherer trait..i just ignored that for a little bit lmao. I'm also going to sit down and make some townies for Noa to be friends with. She's a social butterfly, and often is sad because she hasn't talked to friends in a minute.

Ruby is walking! I redid her room, and I might share that. It's really not the greatest but it's cute imo! Noa takes care of her during the night while Zia is at work, but for the most part they both have all day to spend with her.

I also forgot but they got a cat lmao Her name ks Zplorog.

So,I read silver's relaxation vigente and now I'm sad for the poor boy. If lilia broke up silver's curse why is it acting so strongly on him?

to be fair, the chronological placement of his birthday story just doesn't make any sense in general. like, it can only really take place during his second year, since Ace and Malleus are both there...yet we have seen pretty definitively what Silver was doing on the evening before/morning of his 18th birthday, and it was very much NOT his history homework. this myth?

jk jk I think it's just one of those card stories that's meant to be more...perpendicular to canon, if that makes sense? 😅 like a lot of them aren't really supposed to fit into a specific point in the timeline; instead all the characters and relationships tend to be somewhere vaguely post-episode 1 (occasionally with a bonus post-6 Ortho) except Yuu is already friends with everyone and nobody is surprised to hear them call Malleus Tsunotarou.

mostly they can get away with it, but it starts getting a bit weird with the cards that are supposed to be set at specific times. :T for those I think you gotta just kind of suspend your disbelief and take 'em as, like...little what-if AUs, or something like that! it's not exactly not canon, but more like. this is Silver's birthday if none of the narrative development happened and so his curse is still in effect, or something. 🤷 uhhhh basically Twst's timeline is an eldritch thing that cannot be perceived by mortal eyes, to try will lead to nothing but suffering, down this path dwells only madness.

that said I do 100% accept the presented canon that Silver's roommate is in eternal torment. this is the real victim of Twst right here.

Vil outfit design inspired by high fashion and chapter 5 Overblot design

Vil’s Overblot design reminds me a lot of a nuns habit so I wanted to bring in some recognizable themes such as candles, rosaries , gold detailing and such . For the face droplet mascara and tears meant to mirror crying Mary statues and such .

All this to say I wanted to design something based on these elements and while also being distinctly connected to vil.

I think it’s really interesting that Vil’s Overblot design is so reminiscent of nuns . The juxtaposition of vil who in the spotlight who is well known for his beauty , believing himself to be ugly , is dressed in what is considered to be “modest “ clothing covering himself from view .

Vil is an extremely interesting character coupled with his ob design being my favorite i love this part of his design .

Klaus Mikaelson was no stranger to anger. It lived within him, bubbling just beneath the surface. He was known for it, in fact, for the rage that had daggered his siblings and forced them into stony submission, cold coffins all they knew for centuries. For the righteous fury that had felled kingdoms, swallowed nations, a tsunami of dangerous emotion that swept over and drowned all in its path. He alone wielded it, his very own sword and shield for his own selfish purposes. He supposed saving the young witch’s life was a purpose worthy enough, even if she was staring at him, horrified and infuriated, after the last body fell. His own aggravation shifted, a frozen shard lodging itself in his chest when he realized she was still bleeding. Heavily.

“No, don’t do that, love,” he murmured once he saw her eyes begin to close, her legs buckling. He closed the gap between them in seconds, swinging her up into his arms, and speeding out of the underground chamber they were in. Kidnapping the mother of his child was one thing, but brutalizing her so thoroughly was an entirely different matter. Though his mind wanted to explore the soon-to-be reality of discovering just who had masterminded this plan and torturing them in exquisite detail, none of that would help the witch in his arms. He kicked open the door to his home, speeding her up the stairs and laying her down on his bed. His fangs lengthened, nicking his wrist. Blood dribbled from the wound and he lifted her head with one hand, placing his wrist against her lips. She responded, drinking slightly. The wound in her side continued to bleed. It was then that Klaus’s stomach began to sink.

“Kol!” Klaus roared, and his brother appeared at a moment’s notice. “Call Davina. Now.”

Klaus held onto Bonnie’s body, trying to keep her head up as the gust of wind that signaled Kol’s disappearance washed over them.

“You,” she rasped, and Klaus immediately told her, “Don’t try to speak.”

Bonnie persisted, “You just watched them die.” In his incredulity, he nearly laughed. He’d killed them all, even the innocents, and he’d reveled in it. He knew because of who she was she would be upset, he only figured she would voice her concerns after she’d healed.

If, a terrible murmur in the back of his mind whispered, if she heals.

He scanned her body quickly once more, tamping down on the rage that rose within him at seeing her shoulder was bent at an awkward angle. Fully dislocated — he’d have to fix it himself.

“Look at me, little witch,” he murmured to her, “This is going to hurt. Keep your eyes on me. Think of nothing else.”

He didn’t warn her. Bonnie screamed out, tears leaking from her eyes as her shoulder popped back into place.

“I know,” Klaus whispered to her instead of I’m sorry, “I know it hurts.”

She sobbed quietly in his arms, and he was both grateful that she seemed more alive in this moment, as well as anguished at seeing her in so much pain. Anguish was a feeling he had long since believed he’d forgotten. Of course she would return it to him, as she had returned to him the beating of his long dead heart. Every second that ticked by dragged Klaus deeper into his own personal hell. He bowed his head, pressing his forehead gently against hers.

For the first time in his immortal existence, Klaus Mikaelson prayed. His lips moved in silence, one hand kept against her side to stabilize the wound, the other cradling her neck.

“Klaus,” Bonnie rasped again.

“Do not speak,” he ordered her, “You need to save your strength.”

“If anything happens — ”

“Nothing will happen to you because I will not allow it to.”

He refused. Somehow, in the middle of every trial and tribulation they’d experienced together, his affection for the witch had grown, blossomed into something that now terrified him as he held her rapidly cooling body.

“Keep your eyes open, little witch,” he told her softly, alarmed. They closed, she stilled, and Klaus shook her gently.

“Bonnie.” She did not move. He tried once more.

“Bonnie.”

In a flash, his ear was at her chest, listening for her heartbeat. He was met with sickening, empty silence.

“No,” he said to himself, his voice rising as he shouted out, “No! You cannot do this to me. You cannot go where I cannot follow!” She belonged here, in the land of the living, where she could truly thrive. He promised himself he would give her everything her heart desired, so long as she returned to him. He cared nothing for her rage at being raised from the dead (for she would be angry, that was a given), only for her life. So be it. If he needed to upend Nature itself to keep her, he would leave this world in ashes.

At last, his door burst open. He turned to find Davina Claire at Kol’s side, a grim panic set into her eyes. Clutching Bonnie’s lifeless body, he gave only one command.

“Save her.”

Mini Health/life update!:

Just wanted to drop a lil update cause I’ve been mega mia! At the end of September/start of October I ended up being hospitalised for about a week due to getting a pretty bad case of pneumonia. Was a really scary time but I luckily got through it but am still undergoing tests to montier recovery and am dealing with knock on effects from my other chronic health issues.

Against all odds I luckily still managed to play Dorothy in the production of Wizard Of Oz I was in and since then and have been trying to catch up with university and get through other irl home and mental/physical health issues. (And a power outage and rat infestation… I’m starting to get how tails feels when we all put him through horrific events for angst).

I can’t express how much people’s support and patience has meant to me and while I’m not 100% back I really hope I can get back on tumblr a bit more soon cause I love and miss the bros and everyone on here so much! 💛💛💛

I really hope you’ve all been well and will try and get back to everyone soon! 🫂

It’s my birthday this coming Wednesday and if one more crazy life event happens to me before then I think I’m actually gonna go insane lol.

what is your favorite thing about charles and your favorite thing about erik? separately, as in what you like most about their characters :]

a devious question this one is, my friend!!! it's hard enough for me to explain my thoughts cohesively, but having to pick ONE thing i particularly love is difficult. with characters like charles and erik, theres been so much done with their characters over the decades and so they have so many components to them that make them so interesting and fun to observe. BUT I TRY FOR YOU TODAY. under the cut i kinda ramble and the size of this text box makin me anxious

i think if i were to be simple and broad, what i enjoy most about charles is his determination to help others, even if he isn't really thanked and/or if people don't even like him. ofc, this isn't to say he hasn't done wrong- to be honest, the fact he does wrong/questionable things at times is another aspect of him i really enjoy, maybe because- broadly speaking- he's meant to be altruistic (intent vs outcome and all that). i don't know if that's super exciting to most people, but it is for me

as for erik, my reason for liking him is easier to explain tbh. To Be Simple And Broad, his progression from villain to antihero over the decades has been fun to observe (as much as i have so far anyhow) and analyze. i think to be a bit more specific, him using his rage and pain as justifications for his villainous actions is definitely what compels me the most: hurt people hurt and the sort, an idea i've always found interesting (something something vicious cycles and the like). yet now, he recognizes this wasn't really. A Just Thing To Do and is beginning to change that, which i enjoy

It's a curse I will gladly bear if it means having fun with all of you heh! I'm not just studying the sciences for nothing after all, gotta get as much out of these scenes as we can (*pushes eps through a lemon squeezer*). If I don't, then who will, after all??

And ahhh, tysm!!!!! <333 :D You've given me so much food for though I had to just dive in and see what I could extract at that moment. Now that I think about it, there are like 20 more things that we can do with those scenes: using them as a metric for all the other times Ash gets weak and/or faints, seeing Greninja's reaction in those split seconds, the progression of the bond as the series goes on, a whole bunch of stuff.

You raise a pretty good question though!! In the anime proper we don't get much about Greninja's reaction (both physical or mental) regarding the bond - I would say the most we get is in Snowbelle when both he and Ash split paths and idk run away. I'm trying my very hardest to not go into the whole ep because GEEZ does it have a lot to unpack lol, but I find it so interesting that while Ash is on the ground pacing around a log, Greninja is sitting up a tree, recalling his two back-to-back losses and clenching his fist (just like Ash was) while looking away in disgust/in pain, as if he couldn't stand the sight of it. And back in the Pokemon Centre while facing his back to him (dreamscape memories, anyone???) Ash apologizes to him, saying that he should've gotten his act together (that's the moment where Grenin opens his eyes and I mean in that active way). After recalling what Ash said to him he then slams his fist on the tree before going on the move (presumably back to Ash or the Pokemon Centre). To me, I feel like Greninja assumes just as much responsibility over the bond as Ash does, wanting to reach that same state of power and exercise complete control over it. He also feels blame towards himself when he loses (especially since I think in both instances Grenin knocked out before Ash could or, as with the Sawyer battle, before they could even activate the change) and tends to immerse himself in his fustrations as a result.

In a way, both Ash and Greninja are mirrors, but they aren't perfect copies of each other. They will inevitably experience different emotions, see different things, react in different ways. We see this all the way at the start in EP 3 'A Battle of Aerial Mobility!' where Ash was focused on catching Fletchling to add to his team (on account of being fast) while Froakie wanted to beat it up for making Bonnie upset, and this is right after the last ep where Froakie chose Ash because of both of them being of the same mind in helping Pokemon and stopping bad guys. Ngl early eps do set up pretty well the whole 'aura/connection' thing that Greninja will eventually grow into - he derives his power through strong emotions. Most of the time the Bond is activated through their shared excitement in battle, and they tend to lose it because of some disconnect that they experience afterwards. Back to XYZ EP28 'Seeing the Forest for the Trees!', when they finally manage to break off the bond without any strain (after how many eps....), it is due to the relief of a job well done. Just,, look at this!!

Now that I think about it, XYZ EP25 'Championing a Research Battle!' is also a nice place to see a bit more Greninja imo. When they get into the transformation after a successful hit on Diantha's Gardevoir (a rare sight, considering it's a speedy one) (also, interesting moment to lock in), Ash tends to shout out 'stronger!' or some variation after every so moves. Greninja is also a lot more evocative through his movements, or at least it seems so to me, and he's very hands-on in-your-face with the battle, with many attacks coming after him closing the gap while running forward most of the time. A interesting part that I noted was this observation by Clemont in regards to Greninja and Gardevoir:

It's not just me, Greninja is actively more agressive with his moves during the Bond Phenomenon, or at least here in this situation, faced up against a Champion's Ace. Right after this Ash calls Greninja to go 'faster, faster!' and then Greninja lauches himself forward again, with the graph looking tighter and tighter (I wish I could gif it but it's so transparent lol). Even Clemont is surprised! It's the fact that looking at the graph and the actual battle itself, all those commands Ash keeps calling out (to go faster, to be stronger, more, more) is something that Greninja also echoes at the same time. Greninja also believes this and so reflects this change as the battle rages on.

It goes to the point beyond them summoning a massive Water Shuriken, it goes beyond managing to slam through a Mega Gardevoir's Shadow Ball, it even goes beyond the wavelengths as well...

Those wavelengths look like two seconds away from just being a straight line imo. And that begs the question, if them being 'more' means merging more and more to the point where each wave is barely indistinguishable from the other, then what does that leave them? Does that mean that Ash and Greninja as we know it will cease to be seperate entities in every sense of the word? Will they truly become one?

I guess this is all to say, I feel like Greninja never really let go of that pride that he had since he was a Froakie - he truly measures himself by his strength and the results that brings him (and others too). While a bit more pragmatic about than Ash (usually), he still feels losses just as keenly as him and tends to stew in them to his detriment. He also lusts for power too, being just as eager to tap into that potential as Ash; not just for the sake of it, but in the service of others such as helping others in need (or at least it used to, until they both got lost in the greed and the rush in the Snowbelle arc). Greninja probably assumes he's the one with the biggest slice of the burden regarding the transformation because he is the one with the potential in the first place, but in the end it is a bond. It goes both ways. And it will take a lot for these two to realise that.

Maybe therein lies the journey, to learn how to share responsibility.
