Note
AITA for prioritizing my career over the life of a friend?
I (26M) am the only defense lawyer in a frontier town. I often take clients pro bono and I firmly believe in the right of every man, even guilty ones, to have a fair trial with competent legal help. However, I recognize that the law often leads to a miscarriage of justice, which is why I have an alter ego as a masked gunslinger seeking to work outside the law when necessary.
I've befriended an outlaw (22M) who is a wanted manwith an awful reputation because of his surly personality. His reputation has taken on a life of its own and no posse would capture him alive if they had the chance. However, while he made poor choices as a teenager, he’s not the monster everyone says he is.
Recently, he was framed for a murder he definitely did not commit, as I was with him as my gun-slinging alter ego when the murder supposedly happened. Naturally, I took his case pro bono and tried to defend him in court.
Unfortunately, the only way to prove that he did not commit the crime he was accused of was to reveal my secret identity as an eye witness. But I have made many enemies in my gunslinging identity, and people I care about would be in danger. Furthermore, I worry it would undermine other cases I have successfully argued, and I am practicing law under an alias as I am concealing my true heritage from people in this town, so I chose to remain silent.
Without evidence, and with the other charges against him, my friend was sentenced to death. Of course, I wasn’t going to let that stand. I broke him out of prison as my gun-slinging alter ego (dynamite is a fantastic invention) and we were able to trick his accuser into recanting the false testimony, but sometimes the thought of what could have happened if I had failed to break him out, or if the charges had stuck and his bounty had gone up, haunts me sometimes.
So AITA for choosing to keep quiet about my double life?
(OOC note: This was sent in again by one of the wizards as a single ask. The only edits that were made were adding in paragraphs for legibility--sorry if they're not where you would have put them, original author!)

This is part 2 of Chapter/Episode 1.
If you haven't read part 1, you can read it here:
I will do a recap when I get to Chapter/Episode 2; best to start off the first episode or chapter with a bang, am I right?šŸ˜‰
With that out of the way, let's continue!!!
Crowley joins Lucius in drinking before he starts explaining:
"My friend and I have this kid we've been watching over for a while. He's... different, like you amd that photographer guy I talked to earlier."
Lucius nods and writes Crowley a message. 'You want me to join you two as you "watch over" him?'
Crowley shakes his head and rests one leg iver the other. "Oh, no. No, no, no. Not exactly, at least."
Lucius raises an eyebrow. 'Not exactly?'
The doorbell rings and Lucius answers to get a warm, loving, brotherly embrace from Damien...
Through a quarterback level tackle. That sends Lucius to the floor and gasping for air both because he got the wind knocked out of him, and because Damien has his hands on Lucius's throat.
"You son of a bitch!" Damien screams. "Killing criminals isn't enough already!? You just had to take it to another level!? You couldn't help yourself, could you!?"
Lucius uses his telekinesis to throw Damien off of him, thankfully not breaking anything, and into a wall, kicking him pretty weakly because of that tackle.
The expression on Lucius's face doesn't say 'I had nothing to do with any of that,' it ACTUALLY says, 'YOU MADE ME CONCUSS, YOU ASS!'
"Boys, boys," Crowley chides as he watches and finishes his drink. "Don't play rough in the house OR swear in front of me."
Damien stands up, but Lucius backs away, making very weak gestures that finally mean something when he points to his eyes, then a window. He doesn't know a lot of sign yet, but he is learning.
'Stalker.'
"I don't stalk you, Senator Wagner." Damien says that part in a very mocking way, which does not sit well with Lucius.
"Before you two tear each other apart," Crowley calls, "mind if I remind you that you don't have a choice?"
Lucius folds his arms and raises an eyebrow. 'What if I don't?'
Crowley shouts, "AZIRAPHALE!" and dices to the ground.
Our angel friend comes out from behind a wall and holds a cross in his hand, right way up.
Even though it's far away, it still has "bad" effects on Lucius, making him groan and fall to the ground. Imagine if you had one of those headaches that don't hurt, but make your head feel heavy and weird, like you need to sleep, BUT IT'S IN YOUR ENTIRE BODY.
Damien has a similar reaction as Aziraphale steps closer.
"So sorry, boys, but you need to listen!"
"Like I said earlier," Crowley cuts in, "it takes a demon to know a demon. The same goes for you two and your brothers."
Lucius coughs and nods his head, agreeing with what the pair are saying as long as they put the cross away.
Aziraphale puts it down and nods back. "Good. Thank you. He'll be here tomorrow."
With a nod, both Aziraphale and Crowley leave, Crowley leaving them some custady papers.
Once the two are a good distance away, Damien speaks up, though neither he or Lucius stand; an angel wielding a cross is enough to weaken them ten fold.
"Congratulations. You're a father."
Lucius pulls himself up and smacks Damien before standing up.
I should probably mention that Lucius's house is bigger than we're first seeing. I kinda forgot to mention this in part 1, but Lucius lives in a multi leveled house. There have been instances of "co-workers" needing to stat the night so they don't get into ant accidents, die, or get arrested. Co-workers like political allies that were not brainwashed and anyone in Lucius's party with a good political rank.
Back to the story, Lucius throws away the empty bottle Crowley had and puts his back in the fridge before starting a pot of coffee.
Damien joins him in the kitchen and leans against the counter.
"So, we have brothers to look after."
Lucius groans and shrugs as he nods. 'Seems like it.'
"I already have an apartment, by the way."
'Then live there. Just don't squat here with our so-called brother.'
Damien narrows his eyes. "I have some bad news, then. I can't exactly afford to have an emergency flight back home. And I can't bail on my company when they want to know what Future Senator of the United States has planned once he's in office."
Lucius leans and tips his head back as he groans, rolling his eyes.
"How do you like tricking all those people, huh? About killing and manipulating anyone in your way? Doesn't it bother you?"
Lucius eyes Damien and then holds his hands out before writing a message.
'Pretty good if they deserve it.'
The two stare each other down before Lucius sighs.
Note here, whenever Lucius "talks" just assume the more cohesive sentences are either written out or a gesture that's easy to read, while ones that are chunkier are his signing. Like, 'I don't think that's a good idea to do,' is his writing or gesturing, while 'not good,' is his signing.
Back to Lucius. 'Fine. You can stay for the night. Don't get comfortable here.'
"Trust me, I won't."
With one last good night glare, the two part ways, Lucius in his own room and Damien on the couch.
CUT TO THE NEXT MORNING!!!
Lucius is in his office building doing some work, a little cranky from having to share his house with Damien.
He isn't exactly busy long, because he gets a knock on his door.
"Mr. Wagner? You have some visitors who really want to see you."
Lucius nods and waves his hand in a gesture of, 'Fine, fine, fine. Just let them in.'
In walk three boys, two more grown up and one adolescent with a dog. The two young men from the interview, but Lucius has never seen the red haired/brown haired child with them.
Adam looks very upset, like he's been crying a lot, and Jack keeps ruffling his hair and giving him side-hugs.
"Mr. Lucius Wagner, I'm Jack," says the taller brunette as he gestures to himeslf before waving to the blond, "this is Michael," he says before side-hugging Adam again, "And this is Adam."
"Jack Kline, Michael Langdon, and Adam Young," Michael snaps. "We're the three boys you have custody over, the ones given to you by the demon Crawley."
"Crowley," Adam barks. "His name is Crowley."
Lucius's eye twitches. 'There's THREE of you?'
Jack tilts his head. "You didn't read those custody papers all the way, did you?" He tilts his head back and chuckles as Lucius digs in his briefcase for the custody papers. "There's fine print. There's always fine print. Dean was never good with that either."
Lucius doesn't repeat Dean's mistake again and reads the papers thoroughly enough to see that, yes, he is now the legal guardian of Adam, Jack, and Michael.
AND HE IS THE GUARDIAN PARTNER OF DAMIEN.
The sight of those words make Lucius slam down the papers and dial his phone.
Michael rolls his eyes as Adam takes a seat, Dog hopping up to comfort his master.
"Told you he wouldn't take it well."
Jack shrugs, a small smile on his face. "I think he's taking it just fine."
Lucius snaps his fingers and points between Jack and his phone.
"See? He wants me to talk to our brother for him!"
Lucius lets out a, "TSS! TSS!" and holds up a note. 'READ THESE OUT LOUD INTO THE DAMN PHONE!!!'
"You should watch your language in front of a near teenage boy."
"JUST TALK!" Michael yells as Lucius slams his fist and phone against the table, the speaker on.
Jack shakes his head and mutters, "Such a poor example we're all setting." As the phone is anwered by Damien.
"Yes, brother dear?"
"Hello, Damien! Nice to finally talk to you!"
Lucius holds up a piece of paper for Jack to read.
"Oh! Lucius wants me to tell you, 'I am not your partner,' in all capital letters and with an exclamation point."
From where he is, Damien chuckles and shrugs. "Well, that was the agreement with us and Aziraphale and Crowley. We can't back out unless we want to get baptized."
Lucius scribbles another message for Jack to read.
"He wrote, 'They said there'd only be one brother,' and one is in all capital letters."
"They said brothers-suh. With an S at the end. And we can't orphan the other two."
Lucius gives Jack a look that says, 'No, this isn't happening!' and groans loudly as he smashes his head into his desk.
"See you guys back home!" Damien laughs before hanging up.
Everyone is in silence as Lucius groans as he hids his head against his desk.
Jack looks at Adam as he hugs Dog close to him and then to Lucius, who holds his head down with his hands.
"I'd say that went well."
Cut to when Lucius's day is over and he's walking with Michael, Jack, Adam, and Dog behind him, specifically in that order as Jack keeps quacking and saying the three of them are Lucius's and Damien's ducklings.
A figure watches them walk, though he smiles as they get to the parking garage.
"Nicely done, you two," he admits. "Good luck, Senator Lucius."
Lucius turns his head as Aziraphale waves at him.
Aziraphale looks to see another angel watching the brothers as they drive away and bristles.
Cut to Lucius in the car, Michael in shotgun and Jack, Adam, and Dog in the backseat.
"Look at us. A family, at last. Isn't this nice?" Jack asks as he looks to each of his brothers and holds Adam's hand.
"Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets," Michael states matter-of-factly. "Five sons of the devil, but one throne that needs an ass to polish it." He and Lucius exchange glares, both their eyes going black for Michael and red for Lucius. "Wonder who'll win?"
Adam looks to them both, annoyed. "No one's fighting for anything."
Both Lucius and Michael turn to Adam, who holds on to Jack and Dog tighter.
"I want to go home."
Jack nods. "Adam's right. Let's all go home."
Lucius starts the car and leaves the parking garage, turning on the radio to get a LITERAL SHOCK.
"Michael, that was rude."
Jack and Michael glare at each other as Lucius gets the news bulletin that shocks him worse than what Michael gave him:
"We interrupt this broadcast to give you incredible news! England and the southwestern states have miraculously been restored!"
Lucius and Michael both stare wide eyed at each other and the radio as Jack sighs and hugs Adam.
Back with Aziraphale, our angel friend has just arrived on the roof of the parking garage, where we find the angel waiting for him.
Or rather, FALLEN angel.
"I hope you don't intend on ruining this for them."
"After what that little brat did to the armageddon!?" Gabriel shouts. "Almost a millennium of preparation for nothing, but you and that demon to frolic around and watch that kid like a lamb, and you still call yourself an angel!?"
Aziraphale straightens himself and stares Gabriel in the eyes. "I'm more of angel than ypu, apparently."
Before Gabriel can snap back, Aziraphale continues.
"It is The Almighty's plan for them to be together. Throne or not, they will not leave each other."
Gabriel recomposes himself and glares at Aziraphale with narrow eyes. "You're really that sure?"
"Absolutely," Aziraphale replies with a nod.
Gabriel smirks and turns his heel. "We'll see about that."
Aziraphale watches Gabriel fly away with grey wings, as opposed to the white ones he used to have, and turns his head to watch Damien get in his own car and drive back to Lucius's house; his company heard a rumor and want him to investigate personally.
AND THAT'S IT FOR PART 2!!!!!
Tension, tension, tension already, am I right!?
I'll be back with Chapter/Episode 2 possibly sometime after the holidays, since we are leaving off on a pretty big note here.
I really hope you enjoyed Chapter/Episode 1, stay safe, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

A Little Eggplant Parm | Alison Roman (Serves 2)
The first time I made it (this week lol), I texted several friends that I had ā€œjust made one of the more delicious things I’ve ever made in my life,ā€ a text I send maybe once a year, if that. Anyway, no the eggplant does *not* need to be salted, no we *will not be frying* the eggplant. Yes, it does basically taste like eggplant parmesan but lighter, fresher, tangier, crunchier. If you don’t care for capers, you can skip them, just know you are, in fact, missing out.
PLEASE NOTE: Unless you are doubling this recipe (which you can easily do), you are only using half the tomato sauce here. Save the rest by freezing it, or just pop it in the fridge to eat over pasta later in the week.
Ingredients
1 large globe eggplant (about 2 pounds), sliced about Ā½ā€-Ā¾ā€ thick
½ cup olive oil, divided
Kosher salt, freshly ground black pepperĀ
1 small onion (yellow, white, or red), thinly sliced
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)Ā
4 anchovy fillets (optional)Ā
1 28 oz. can whole San Marzano tomatoes, crushedĀ
¾ cup panko bread crumbs
ā…“ cup (about) grated parmesanĀ
8 oz. mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
Ā 2–3 tablespoons capers, coarsely chopped
ā…“ cup coarsely chopped parsley, divided
Directions
1. Roast the eggplant. Preheat oven to 450°. Drizzle eggplant with about half the olive oil and season with salt and pepper and roast, turning eggplant halfway through (I use tongs or a fork), until it’s as tender as custard and both sides are as brown as if they were fried (they weren’t), 25–30 minutes.
A lot of the flavor in this dish will come from the eggplant being very very browned, so please don’t be scared to ā€œtake it thereā€ so to speak. Please take it there. Take it very there.
2. While that happens, make the sauce. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic, season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring every now and then until the onions and garlic are tender and starting to brown around the edges, 8–10 minutes. Add crushed red pepper flakes and anchovies, if using, and stir, letting both things melt into the onions. Pour the juices from the tomatoes into the pot and one by one, crush the tomatoes with your hands into the pot (I like to keep the tomatoes on the chunkier side for more texture in the finished dish). Season again with salt and pepper and let it simmer gently for 15–30 minutes (you want to evaporate some but not all of the liquid).
Once it tastes very good and feels nicely thickened, remove from heat. Set half aside and freeze or refrigerate the rest.
3. The last and final annoying thing to do here is to toast the bread crumbs (less annoying than frying though, right?). Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in a small to medium skillet over medium heat. Add the bread crumbs and season with salt and pepper. Stir them to coat evenly in the oil and toast, tossing frequently, until all the bread crumbs are the color of your morning toast, 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat.
4. Okay, it’s time to assemble this thing! How thrilling. There’s not a ton of technique here, but here’s how I do it to most closely mimic the classique eggplant parm.
Spoon about half of the tomato sauce on the bottom of a 1 qt. baking dish or 6ā€ skillet (both hold about 4 cups volume, that’s the size you want. Doesn’t matter the shape, as long as its heatproof).
Top with half the eggplant (a little overlap is fine, so are gaps- don’t fuss!). Top with half the parmesan, parsley, capers, and oregano. Scatter half the bread crumbs in a nice even layer on top of all that, followed by half the mozzarella. Repeat this, ending with the mozzarella. Add a little more parmesan if you feel like it, maybe some black pepper.
I feel that this is truly perfect as-is, but if you love anchovies as much as my friend Chris, you can use more to layer in (I’d add a few fillets with the capers/herbs).
5. Now, bake it. Pop it into the oven until the cheese is browned and everything is bubbling around the edges, 15–20 minutes. Remove from the oven, maybe finish with some more parsley if you’ve got it stuck to your cutting board, and let it cool ever so slightly before eating. I like to just serve it by scooping with a spoon-- it’s not really meant to be sliced.
Things to Know
f you’d like to serve 4 people or are eager for leftovers, you can easily double this (you would then use all of the sauce and just bake it in a 2-quart vessel).
This is ideal eaten out of the oven, but it’s also really great as leftovers (cold, room temperature, or reheated in a 400° oven till bubbling again, 25–30 minutes).
Every component can be made ahead 2–3 days in advance. Keep everything except the bread crumbs (store those at room temp) wrapped and refrigerated until you’re ready to assemble and bake.
You can assemble in advance by a few hours, but I wouldn’t since it’s so quick.
The only thing this needs is an acidic salad with lots of shallot or garlic in the dressing. I would go for iceberg and pickled shallots, maybe some olives. But something mustard-y with some raw grated garlic would also be fun.

November 30 2019
Today was our last full day in India as we fly out tomorrow morning super early in the morning. One downside to our short trip is that we spent so much time traveling, and it has been wearing on our bodies. First thing at 9 am, we go to the next door spa to get a deep tissue massage. Supposedly we got there a little early, but our shuttle for the airport left at 11, and we didn't want to miss it. They were kind enough to accommodate us before their official open time at 10.
My lady did not hold back. She used her elbows to really get in deep into my muscles and seemed not to notice my sharp intakes of breath. Afterwards, I almost felt sore! I quickly rinsed off the lotion they used to massage, and we quickly booked it back to the hotel. We grabbed our stuff that we mostly packed before we left, and headed down to breakfast. Most of the time, we had gone early to breakfast, but we hit the busiest time and it was hectic. Folks were ordering all sorts of food and even the staff looked like they were scrambling. Bobby lucky found the expediter in the restaurant and was able to quickly wrangle food for us and I chowed down. Checking out was even a little stressful because they was a long line to do so.
As we should have anticipated, the shuttle did not leave at 11 sharp but closer to 11:30. Luckily that gave me time to quickly run off to the restroom although they told me I didn't have time. That's the benefit of arriving early! The ride was probably the best we had in India because we were on a large bus (that could accommodate about 15 people) that couldn't dart in and out as nimbly as a smaller car. Also the seats reclined to 120 degrees and Bobby and I squeezed in a quick nap.
Mercifully, we avoided any hiccups at the airport. Goa is too small to go to the wrong terminal! We checked our bags without the help of fast forward and got through security fine. On the other side, we hunted around for something to eat in the food court. Grabbing a table here is a competitive sport. You have to be wily and quick otherwise someone will undermine you. Debbie had a table stolen from under her nose, but she eventually emerged victorious. Debbie, Richard, and I got KFC and Bobby got a local biriyani rice. The KFC was pretty good and even the regular fried chicken sandwich had a light kick to it. We wandered around the airport to find a postcard to send, but to no avail. We had to board the plane. This flight was much better than the one to Goa. Maybe I'm getting used to India, but I do think that there were fewer people on the plane trying to bend the rules. Two hours flew by.
Once landed, we collected our bags without incident. The beauty of landing in the domestic terminal is that there are fewer folks trying to hustle us - those people are all in the international terminal. On our way to the uber there was someone who tried to help us with our bags even when we found our uber and tried to hold the door open for me. But we learned our lesson, and accepted nothing from this guy. We arrived at the hotel, and even though it was 7 pm, our rooms weren't ready yet. But we are used to it at this point and enjoyed the live music playing in the lobby and people watched. There was a huge and glamorous wedding happening with a lot of foreigners and it was fun watching them walk by in all of their finery. This wedding was much fancier than the one that we attended as the woman had beautifully beaded and bejeweled outfits.
Debbie and Richard had stayed next door to the hotel when we were in Delhi last for the wedding and they knew that it was very hard for Uber's to find this location. Aerocity is a brand new neighborhood and I think that many taxi drivers still don't know how to navigate it. In fact, we found an area called Worldmark which is a large shopping complex via the concierge. The mall wasn't even on the map it's so new. We did some shopping buying snacks to share with folks back home and we wandered around.
We finally decided on this one restaurant that caught Richard's eye because it said it was from the creators of the original butter chicken dish in India. When we peered inside, the front was a lot of Indian patrons even though it was pretty early for dinner. When we asked about putting our name down, they said it was going to be an hour. Deciding that we had time to kill, we put down our names and went to wander a little more as well as drop off the goodies we purchased. On our way back to the hotel, we passed the wedding procession for the groom from the wedding at our hotel. There were drummers and dancers and the groom was on top of a white horse. We stopped for a few minutes because we missed this tradition from Anna's wedding since we were with the bride rather than the groom. It was fun to watch. We quickly drop off our purchases at the hotel and by the time we get back to the mall, it's time for dinner.
The place is called Daryaganj and it was created by the great grandson of the supposed creator of the butter chicken recipe. We decide to take a chance on the name and three of us order the butter chicken. It did live up to the hype. It was delicious where the chicken was tender and you could taste the butter in the sauce. The sauce is a little chunkier than what we're used to, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Bobby noticed that there were long strips of ginger as well as peppers to give it a kick. On top of the garlic naan we ordered is heaven. The butter in both the naan and chicken are accentuated so the butter almost tastes like the butter on popcorn. We stuffed ourselves silly, and it was a perfect ending to our time in India.
This trip really tested Bobby and my patience as things went sideways and we had to roll with the punches. It was too short of a time and I wish we had a couple more days in Goa, but I'm so grateful that we had amazing travel companions to watch our back, keep our spirits high, and help smooth out any bumps that we hit along the way. It was a once in a lifetime experience to be a part of an Indian wedding in Delhi and it won't be one that I'll soon forget.

The Falcon and the Rose Ch. 13 - The Sword, part 2
Tumblr media
The winter of 9:31 Dragon draws to a bitter close. Teyrn Loghain Mac Tir, hero of the people, has revealed a string of secret letters between King Cailan and Empress Celene of Orlais. The specifics are unclear, but suspicion of Orlesians run deep, and there are always those willing to take advantage of political scandal. Declaring the king unfit to rule, Loghain has retreated to his southern stronghold in Gwaren, with Queen Anora by his side. Fear and greed threaten to tear Ferelden apart. In Denerim, Cailan busies himself with maps and battle plans, hoping to stem the tide of blood before it can start. In the Arling of Edgehall, King Maric’s bastard son fights against the rebels flocking to the traitor’s banner, determined to free himself from the shadow of his royal blood. And in Highever, Rosslyn Cousland, bitter at being left behind, watches as her father and brother ride to war, unaware of the betrayal lurking in the smile of their closest friend.
Words: 4528 Chapter summary: Alistair has a bad day, then Rosslyn challenges him to a duel.
Chapter 1 on AO3 This chapter on AO3 Masterpost here
Alistair had a difficult morning. After a hurried breakfast, he was waylaid by Ser Nevvis, the aide-de-camp in charge of the archers who had arrived two days before from Waking Sea. The man was incorrigible, inflated by the fact that Bann Alfstanna had personally put him in charge, and it took twenty minutes before he could ease the man’s bluster and sort out the problem of billeting. Then, he was forced to deal with a complaint from the quartermaster, and then the head blacksmith – and then the chief of the impromptu merchants’ guild came to see him too.
The only break in the fog was the two minutes where Rosslyn had spoken to him, had actually looked pleased to see him. He had worried for her while she was gone, perhaps more than proper, though he didn’t dare entertain the idea that she might have spared him a thought in return. He was only an officer, and only elevated that high because Teagan had taken pity on him as a child. Still, the bashful smile she had offered as she joked with him, with the star-white flowers in her hair, left a peculiar kind of lightness in his chest, and for a while – though he knew it was ridiculous – the image created a wall between his mood and all the people who seemed to have nothing better to do than shout at him.
And then Teagan found him arguing with a drayman whose horse had come up lame, and in a rough, exhausted voice, told him to find the errant teyrn’s daughter and check on her. He didn’t give details, but Alistair guessed easily enough that it had something to do with Franderel.
He tried her quarters first, but the local woman employed as her new maid shook her head and returned to the arrangement of daffodils in a vase on the windowsill. The dog, evidently returned from breakfast in the kennels, snored fitfully on the bed. As he rand a hand through his hair to work out where to go next, he noticed the sprig of Andraste’s grace that had been woven into her hair stood in a pill bottle on the table, next to the plate of food he had had sent to her. It relieved him more than it should to see it was scraped clean.
ā€œYou might try the training grounds,ā€ the maid offered when he still lingered.
ā€œThank you,ā€ he replied, already marching back into the corridor when the young woman curtseyed prettily at him.
He almost missed Rosslyn in the lists, too. When he finally caught a flash of steel beyond the ranks of training recruits, he hung back, unwilling to interrupt. An area had been cleared for her near the horse paddocks, away from the soldiers drilling under Arms Master Grint, and when he realised what she was doing, Alistair felt a coil of anticipation stir in his gut.
The exercise was known as the Orchard, an advanced technique designed to teach precision and fluidity in battle against multiple opponents. She stood surrounded by twelve thin poles, all set at different heights, topped with cabbages worm-eaten from winter storage. The goal was simple, if difficult to achieve: instead of following a set pattern of steps, the student improvised their movements to glide between the poles and strike each object from its plinth without touching the wood it rested on, in as few steps as possible. The ground was already scattered with the crinkled remains of previous rounds, and whole motley crate of vegetables awaited their turn to be on the receiving end of Rosslyn’s frustrations.
She shifted into a beginning stance, guard up, shield held close to her left side. His own fighting style lacked the finesse to perform such an exercise well, but as she wove through the poles, he started to understand why her army held her in such high regard. Her footwork was impeccable, her grace undeniable. When her sword flicked out, the action opened from her centre rather than her arms, which loaned more power to the stroke, and control enough that she could withdraw and change direction like a leaf turning in the breeze.
He stopped noticing the mechanics of her form when the fourth cabbage dropped in two pieces before the third even hit the ground. The sun flashed on her hair, gathered into a bun at the nape of her neck, the effort of the exercise bringing a pink blush to her cheeks that set her grey eyes dancing. But after the sixth cabbage a frown creased her brows, drawing down over her eyes as a snarl of frustration pulled her lips upwards over her teeth. Her strikes lost their polish. With the instincts of a soldier, he saw the sword gaining momentum independent of her control, swinging wide on the outside edges of her strokes, creating chinks in her defence when she had to overcompensate with her shield arm.
The exercise ended with the dull slam of metal on wood and a hissed curse as the last cabbage bounced off the ground and rolled away, untouched. Alistair let out the breath he had been holding, his mouth dry. Rosslyn yanked the blade from where it was wedged in the pole and stepped away with a growl, pushing hair and sweat carelessly out of her eyes – until then she spotted him. Her face flushed a deeper red even as she rolled her shoulders back.
ā€œIs there something you need?ā€
He gulped. ā€œDo you, uh, want to talk about what’s bothering you?ā€
ā€œThere’s nothing bothering me.ā€ She stalked away from him towards a low table laden with a water pitcher and a cloth, discarding her shield as she went. The sword she treated with more care, taking the cloth to the flat of the blade so she could wipe away the sting of cabbage juice.
ā€œClearly.ā€ He dared to step closer. ā€œYou know, if you’re planning to do this until the kitchens run out of vegetables completely, you’d probably get on better with a different sword.ā€
She paused. ā€œDid Teagan send you?ā€
ā€œWellā€¦ā€
ā€œTell him he’s wasting his time. I’ve had enough of being patronised today.ā€
Alistair frowned. ā€œHe’s only trying to help.ā€
ā€œFeel free to tell him what a marvellous job he’s doing.ā€ She delicately picked a speck of cabbage off the hilt of her sword, her mouth curled with affected disdain.
ā€œThere’s no need to get tetchy,ā€ he grumbled. ā€œAnd just so you know, Teagan’s the only reason we’re not already marching to Denerim, so you might show some gratitude.ā€
She levelled an incredulous stare at him, and too late he swallowed back his impertinence. He had forgotten protocol, as he so often did in her presence, but realising he should have known better didn’t lessen the cut of that look. He cleared his throat and looked down to the scuffed toes of his boots, a mumbled, formal apology dragging over his tongue. When he glanced up, the haughty glare was gone and she was biting her lip.
The silence between them grew awkward.
ā€œLookā€¦ā€ He sighed. ā€œWhatever Bann Franderel said – he’s very good at getting under other people’s skin, but that doesn’t mean what he says is true.ā€
Her shoulders stiffened. ā€œWhatever that weasel did or did not say to me,ā€ she snarled, ā€œit’s no concern of yours.ā€ With a shake of her head, she turned away from him again and sheathed her sword, intent now on resetting the poles for another round, but after the first few steps she halted, the cabbage she had failed to cleave before now held loosely in her palm.
ā€œWhat’s wrong with my blade?ā€ she asked, without looking at him. Her voice still held an edge, but the anger bunched in her shoulders had softened.
Alistair huffed. He shouldn’t be opening his mouth, but he had never been very good at shutting up at the proper time. ā€œIt was made for someone with a longer reach than yours. The weight is balanced too far towards the point and it swings wide.ā€
ā€œPerhaps that’s why I’m practicing.ā€
ā€œIgnoring ill-suited equipment might work in the tilt yard, but in a real battle it’ll get you killed,ā€ he snapped, forgetting protocol again. ā€œExcuse me for trying to help.ā€
For a long moment, Rosslyn didn’t answer. Her thoughts were her own as she eyed the sword girded at her side, the white steel shaped like a willow leaf in an ancient Alamarri style, from a time when forging techniques produced chunkier, less sophisticated weapons. A muscle ticked in her jaw.
She faced him again. the cabbage dropped to the ground with a dull thud. ā€œShow me.ā€
He blinked. ā€œYou want to spar – with real weapons? Now?ā€ So much could go wrong. He might injure her, and then he would be in trouble, and what if –
ā€œUnless you’re not a match for me?ā€ A militant gleam shone in her eyes now, a challenge without even a hint of mirth. But he had his pride, too, and the world shrank to the bare ten paces that separated them as he squared up to her.
ā€œIf I do match you, you’ll admit I’m right – find another sword to use?ā€
Her head tilted to the side, that lop-sided smirk of hers enough to make his insides squirm. ā€œIf.ā€
--
Word of the fight spread through the barracks within the time it took for the runner to reach the officers’ quarters with instructions to retrieve Alistair’s weapons from the glorified box that served him as both bedroom and office. By the time the poor lad returned, laden down with a sword and shield that together probably weighed about the same as he did, he had to battle his way through a mob of soldiers five deep around the ring who had drifted in to watch the spectacle. Silver glinted between palms as bets were taken, passed along with good-natured insults between Cousland loyalists and staunch Rainesfere men.
In the centre of the commotion, calm and quiet, the two warriors padded up in practice gear.
ā€œHonour must be satisfied, Madam Enchanter,ā€ Rosslyn said, without looking up from the buckles on her cuirass. ā€œThat sour look does nothing.ā€
ā€œI have enough patients already without you two clobbering each other senseless, my lady,ā€ Wynne shot back. ā€œIf this is about satisfying honour, I’ll eat my own boots.ā€ The old woman’s arms were crossed over her chest, the expression on her face unchanged since she had first noticed the gathering and come to investigate.
Rosslyn tightened the final strap on her vambraces. ā€œYour objections are noted.ā€
She picked up her sword from where it had been resting against the closest ring-post, and checked the bark sheath on the blade to make sure it wouldn’t come loose. Such bindings were reserved for high level training, light enough not to impede balance or add extra weight, but strong enough to protect the blade from blunting – or from fatally lacerating an opponent if a fight got too enthusiastic. On the other side of the ring, Alistair was doing the same, his skullcap already in place over his tawny hair, and his shield hefted on his left arm.
ā€œJust so you know,ā€ he told her when they met in the centre of the ring, ā€œI bruise easily.ā€
Flint-eyed, she squashed her own cap onto her head and fastened the chinstrap. He imagined he caught a faint twitch of humour on her lips before the movement obscured her face, but he couldn’t be sure.
ā€œYou both know the rules,ā€ croaked the nervous recruit who had been picked as a referee. ā€œNo weapon strikes aimed above the shoulders; no interference from the spectators; the fight ends when one competitor yields, or… or is too injured to fight.ā€ He glanced at Rosslyn and licked his lips. ā€œHopefully it won’t come to that. Do you both swear to abide by these rules?ā€
ā€œYes.ā€
ā€œI do.ā€
ā€œThen begin!ā€
They tapped swords as a formal salute, and stepped back out of range, circling slowly. Alistair brought his shield up before his face, his sword held point-forward at his shoulder in readiness to lunge, while Rosslyn, cautious about his superior size, held hers swept to the side for a better chance at deflection should he close for a strike. Her gaze dropped to the centre of his chest, the better to anticipate his movements; faces, after all, could lie.
Shouting grew into an excited buzz around them, then faded out of hearing, useless.
She struck first, a whirl of blows that sent them both spinning to opposite sides of the ring. Cheers rose from the Highever soldiers, but this initial flurry was just a test of Alistair’s defences, probing for weak points she could exploit. It wouldn’t be easy; his strength foiled her speed and he had the solid bearing of a shieldmaster in training. She had to rotate the hilt in her grip to release the jangle of nerves the impact sent down her arm.
ā€œGet ā€˜im telt, lass!ā€
With the second attack, she sliced forward at an angle, faster, cutting crosswise so he was forced to overreach. She caught his sword on the outer edge of her shield and he jumped back as she swung her right arm in a reverse arc that would have disembowelled him had the fight been real. The move seemed ungraceful, but he had left the opening on purpose, to see if she would take it.
ā€œDon’t insult me,ā€ she snapped. ā€œYou could at least try to kill me.ā€
ā€œIf I do that, I’ll get executed,ā€ he retorted. Now that his battle-blood was rising, he found himself enjoying being the sole object of her attention, antagonistic though it might be. The fire-hot fury that had consumed her earlier was gone, and in place of her scowl a frown of concentration, and maybe just the faintest hint of a smile. But he had to focus, or the fight would be lost, and his argument along with it.
So he came at her without warning, driving her towards the rail, shield to shield before she could get out of the way, but in an instant the pressure against his shoulder vanished. She sidestepped neatly and turned along the length of his off-side, delivering a swift elbow to his ribs before disengaging to circle again, to whoops and jeers from the spectators. He had not meant to let her do that, and he stumbled, knowing that if she wanted, she could have ended the fight there. Payback for the opening he had given her before. When he looked, he saw a grin pulling at her lips, but it vanished quickly.
They became more serious. The blows they traded were fast and brutal, the two of them evenly matched and equally invested in winning. Soon they were both breathing hard and fighting the itch to dash the sweat from their eyes. Rosslyn kept their engagements brief, making Alistair do the work of closing to a distance where he could use his bigger size to bear down on her, but she had grown up training against her father’s guardsmen, and she had learned how to turn her blade to redirect the force of such blows, to combat reach with flexibility.
She swiped low for his legs and used the distraction to dance away again. Alistair turned and trailed after her, dogged, and doubts began to creep into her mind. All her injuries from the road ached from his unrelenting attacks, which often came over the top of his shield and meant she had to raise her arm to deflect them. She might have expected some leniency from a different opponent, but Alistair wasn’t Gilmore; he respected her skill enough to give her all of his. He saw the way she rolled her left shoulder to ease the strain of her injury from Glenlough, and he noted it only as a weakness to be turned to his advantage.
But he was starting to tire, as well. She saw it in the slight drop of his guard, how he hesitated to close the gap between them. The onlookers had quietened, sensing the match was nearing its end and eager not to miss a moment of it.
ā€œGive ā€˜er what-for!ā€
He rushed her. She was done running. Her stance braced to hold her ground, and their shields locked together with a hollow smack, their swords trapped at crossguards in the middle. For an instant they stood close enough to feel the ragged edge in each other’s breath, silver eyes caught on amber, but then Rosslyn dove left with a growl and Alistair stumbled forward. His right arm overextended, exposed between her shield and his own. Her sword was already swinging in a backhanded arc above her head – he could see its path down across his shoulders, a killing blow to the back of the neck – the crowd now at a roar –
He ducked and twisted on his heels. His loose arm dropped and he exploded upwards with a last burst of strength that broke against her shield just as she reached the apex of the Coachman’s Cut. Unbalanced, she was knocked clean off her feet, the sword flying out of her hand as she instinctively reached out to brace against the fall. Alistair tumbled after, and together they hit the ground with a muffled thud that sent a shock of force through Rosslyn’s teeth. Disbelief settled on the crowd with the dust, and those at the back peered over the heads of those in front to see what would happen next.
Alistair stared down impassively, the point of his sword resting flat against Rosslyn’s neck and the weight of his shield heavy on her chest. She had managed to get one elbow underneath her, but she was pinned, caught out of reach of her sword with his bulk pressing her into the dirt. The silence stretched; time was measured in racing heartbeats. Her eyes darted between her blade and the one at her neck, searching for some way to save the situation, to change the odds, to fight. Alistair tried very hard to ignore the warmth of her breath on his cheek.
Finally, she sagged, her voice choked and tiny. ā€œI yield.ā€
ā€œSer Alistair is victorious!ā€
At the announcement, Alistair scrambled to his feet, all traces of the merciless warrior gone. He caught a flicker of vulnerability in Rosslyn’s eyes before she rolled gaze away from him to the sword lying inches from her right hand, and he watched as she hesitated, then snatched it from the dirt like it was a snake about to bite.
ā€œHere.ā€
She grasped the hand he offered to pull her up, her grip strong, her back and entire right side dusted with sawdust. She hardly seemed to notice, and did not look at him as they touched shields to signal the formal end of the bout. Cheers and groans rippled around the ring with the chink of coin, but to him it was muted by his confusion, the feeling that in his victory something had gone terribly wrong.
ā€œMy lady?ā€
ā€œIf you’ll excuse me ā€“ā€
Rosslyn bowed and left, letting the crowd part before her like iron filings before a lodestone. By the time he caught up with her, she had reached the equipment tent and flung her sword on the workbench, half her training gear already unbuckled. At the tramp of his footsteps, her hands stilled on the straps.
ā€œI… didn’t hurt you, did I?ā€ he asked.
ā€œOnly my pride,ā€ she joked, but it was unconvincing. ā€œYou’re impressive – your fighting skills, I mean.ā€
Alistair felt heat creep up the back of his neck. ā€œI could say the same. You almost had me a few times there.ā€
ā€œBut not quite.ā€ And there it was again, that flash of hurt smothered as quickly as it emerged. She scowled down at the sword on the workbench. ā€œI apologise for taking up so much of your time – you must have duties to see to.ā€
He recognised the dismissal for what it was, but sympathy made him hesitate. Now that the anger had drained out of her, away from the crowd, she looked exhausted, leaning against the table as if the responsibility on her shoulders were too much to bear alone.
He had never been very good at keeping his mouth shut.
ā€œYou know, I know better than you might think how hard it can be to – to live with a legacy hanging over your head.ā€ He fiddled with a stray thread in his shirt. ā€œI can see why you would want to hold on to anything you can.ā€
She turned and stared at him for a long time, her expression inscrutable. ā€œYour parents had high expectations for you, then?ā€ she asked eventually.
ā€œI… no.ā€ It was his turn to avoid her gaze. ā€œMy mother died when I was small and my, uh, father barely knew I existed.ā€
She frowned, irked by this information for a reason she could not define. ā€œSo who raised you?ā€
ā€œDogs,ā€ he said, shrugging.
ā€œDogs?ā€
ā€œYup. Giant, slobbering dogs from the Anderfels, a whole pack of them, in fact. In the winter we’d all sleep in a big pile and play wicked grace for ram chops.ā€ He grinned, and was pleased to see an answering smirk on Rosslyn’s lips.
ā€œI see,ā€ she hummed. ā€œThat explains the table manners.ā€
ā€œOi!ā€
ā€œAnd was it the dogs who taught you swordsmanship?ā€ she asked. ā€œOr, swordsdogship, I suppose.ā€
ā€œNo, that was Duncan.ā€ His smile broadened into something more genuine at the happy memory, and the warmth brightened the honey of his eyes. She had called him impressive, she was joking with him again, she was funny. ā€œHe’s a Grey Warden, he used to stop by when he was recruiting sometimes. He’d take me out and teach me, first with sticks, because you might not have noticed but I’m terribly clumsy, and then later he’d bring real practice swords with him.ā€
ā€œHe sounds like a good man,ā€ Rosslyn said.
ā€œHe is. He’s Commander of the Grey now – or he was, last time I heard anything about him.ā€
ā€œHm – you have friends in high places.ā€
He chuckled. ā€œI suppose I do.ā€
ā€œI hopeā€¦ā€ Her smile faltered. Her fingers danced along the edge of the workbench. ā€œOh, never mind.ā€
Concerned by how she turned away from him, Alistair edged closer, stretching out a tentative hand, only to spring backwards when the tent flap whipped aside to reveal Teagan, his cloak awry and his face creased into a disapproving glare.
ā€œWould either of you care to explain what just happened?ā€ he demanded. ā€œWhy did I get word from Captain Rothby that a fight had broken out in the lists? Well?ā€
Rosslyn and Alistair glanced at each other like children caught stealing pastries.
ā€œYou’re expected to set an example – there are recruits out there who have barely been with us a week! And now they’ve seen two of their superiors decide to hash out their differences in a glorified brawl.ā€ Teagan rubbed a finger along his jawline. ā€œI expected better of you, Alistair. I thought you had more sense.ā€
ā€œYes, my lord. I’m sorry.ā€
ā€œTeagan, the fault is mine,ā€ Rosslyn interrupted, stepping forward. ā€œI goaded Alistair, and he was honour-bound to respond.ā€
ā€œWith due respect, my lady, if he allowed himself to be goaded by you, then he has yet to learn the lessons I have tried to teach him. Such childish behaviour is a disgrace to your positions, and provoked or not you should both have had the presence of mind to conduct yourselves with a greater amount of decorum. Do you think your father would be proud of your little fit of temper today?ā€
ā€œIt’s a shame he’s not here to be asked his opinion.ā€
ā€œThe soldiers were pleased,ā€ Alistair said hurriedly. ā€œThe bout was a boost to morale and it gave the newer recruits a demonstration of the level of skill they might be able to achieve one day.ā€
Teagan rounded on him. ā€œDo not try to justify this action. I am still Commander-in-Chief of this camp, and that display showed a flagrant disregard for rules put in place for the benefit of all.ā€ He stepped back, suddenly weary. ā€œLady Rosslyn, I apologise for the comment about your father. I’m sure he would be happy to know you can hold your own against such a skilled opponent. He taught you well.ā€
Rosslyn swallowed. ā€œThank you, my lord.ā€
ā€œI will speak to the quartermaster. Both of you will spend this evening helping the normal rotation clean the practice equipment, since you’re so eager to behave like common soldiery, and maybe that will teach you a lesson about settling arguments with steel.ā€ He turned on his heel before either could muster a protest and marched out into the gathering dusk, the silence left in his wake a palpable thing.
ā€œWell that could have gone worse,ā€ Alistair muttered eventually.
ā€œIt could have gone better, too,ā€ Rosslyn replied. ā€œWhy didn’t you stand up for yourself when Teagan stormed at you?ā€
ā€œWhat else could I do?ā€ he shrugged. ā€œWithout him I’m just a stablehand or a farm grunt living hand-to-mouth. He took me in, so to speak.ā€
ā€œFrom the dogs?ā€
Alistair’s head snapped around at the new, probing lilt to her voice, and scowled. ā€œHe’s not my father. My father’s dead, and never wanted anything to do with me in the first place.ā€
She started. ā€œForgive me – I shouldn’t have pried.ā€
After that, they lapsed into silence as they finished stripping off their practice leathers and laid them out for cleaning, but Alistair’s mind resounded with the weight of the secret he had never revealed to another living soul. Never before had he even wanted to, and yet in the last few weeks he had caught himself wondering what might happen if he did. On better days, he imagined what it might be like to be raised to princehood, how many people he could help if given the power to do so. Soon enough, however, he would hear Isolde’s tittering laugh ringing in his ears, mocking him for thinking his father’s name would ever outshine his mother’s common blood.
ā€œAlistair? That’s a very thoughtful expression on your face.ā€
He did his best to smile. ā€œJust trying to work out what I want for dinner.ā€
She smiled back, remembering their earlier conversation. ā€œIt would have to be something filling, to last through all the gruelling hours of work Teagan has in store for us.ā€
ā€œMaybe not something with cabbage in it, though.ā€
ā€œI doubt there are many cabbages left for the refectory to get their hands on.ā€
ā€œAnd whose fault is that?ā€
The smile turned into an outright chuckle. It was brief, but he heard it. He watched as she gathered up her gear and placed it back in the racks, wondering what it might be like to make her laugh properly, every day.
ā€œI’ll see you later,ā€ she said, pausing on her way to the door.
Only once she had gone could his thoughts scramble enough sense together to answer, but by then there was nobody to hear but himself. ā€œI look forward to it.ā€

Sorry ahead for time for all my world building rantings, but research is FUN and EXCITING and JOIN ME.
(Below the cut is 100% me rambling, a lot, so be warned!)
So, currently I’m working on the ā€œmainā€ part of the former kingdom of Ghalyvudd. It has a new name (which will be revealed) to go along with the new dynasty and definitely is getting a new look. The rebellion just ended, with Arndt Blumenthal being crowned as King. He chose a new location to serve as the kingdom’s capital (which I haven’t name yet, I mostly consider it the ā€˜kingdom proper’) and set to work building a temporary fortified city while masons and stoneworkers simultaneously began work on what will become his primary seat of power. That castle won’t be done for several years. (typical construction time is listed between 2-10 years, so it’ll depend a lot on how big I end up making it - I wanted to give myself time to really put the work in without hindering my ability to play as soon as possible)
As far as design, the capital city is set in a basin valley, surrounded by mountains. Weather-wise, think Montana. Hot summers, gorgeous springs and falls, and a winter made of pure death. But the mountains serve as a natural protective barrier - there won’t be any kind of invading army without some advanced notice. The land itself used to be part of the Kenton families vast holdings though it had remained largely uninhabited for generations.
Because yes I couldn’t just have land appearing from no where.
ANYWAY.
There are actually two quarries within a reasonable distance from the planned site of the castle (tentatively I’m calling it Blumenthal Castle but I don’t really like that name, I feel like Arndt is going full Henry VII on me as far as propaganda and would want something more suitably mythological to appeal to the masses) which means there will be more of a variety when it comes to the colors of the stone but also means that stone buildings will be more predominate in this area because the materials are easier to come by and cheaper then wood which was over-forested - and matters weren’t helped by the temporary buildings that were heavily wood-based.
So I decided on all of this (and a lot of other stuff that probably won’t eve come up - honestly, I’m a whore for research) but my main problem was translating the ideas that I’d built up in to functional sim buildings that weren’t monsters when it came to CC and playability - and that’s key for me. I’ve seen some jaw-droppingly gorgeous lots, but if it takes five hours to send a sim to the bathroom and another five to send them to the kitchen to eat, that’s just not fun for anybody. That’s when I get cheaty and start teleporting and eventually I’m not even playing.
My solution might seem a little odd, but honestly my biggest inspiration source in terms of photos? Dollhouses! (Doll castles?) The majority of them are very compact while still managing to convey the fact that they are not just houses. They’re also really, really compatible with sims gameplay in general.
So, I picked out a nice, temporary home for Arndt.
Tumblr media
I liked the different textures and variations in fencing, as well as how many levels there were to this particular ā€˜building’ without it looking out of hand or crazy. Nice, simple, looks like it could have gone up in the span of six months or so - or less.
Translating the basic shape was super easy. Even guessing where things should go inside was relatively easy, just lots of mashing sims practicality with how I know historical sites like this were set up.
Tumblr media
I changed a few things - the gate isn’t diagonal, the roof/stable part is longer, the tower is chunkier, etc. but overall I’m happy with my result structurally.
Design-wise, it did take me longer to pick out materials - especially fences - because I didn’t have what I wanted but I don’t want to add more stuff to my poor downloads folder if it can be helped. The tower portion is meant to resemble part of the original Kenton lot. I never showed that one because it was a massive beast that was a nightmare to play and only lasted two rounds, but there was a lot of red stone/brick and those brownstone type fences.
In my mind, the old Kenton palace was mostly destroyed and in the area where the capital is now situated. A fire would make sense, and because it would have been around the time when Cyneric just took the throne and the future king Cadfael hadn’t even been born, it fits the timeline I have of the land the capital now sits on being abandoned/unused.
The rough stone wall surrounding this lot is meant to be a last defense. Ideally I’d have had one of those fences with the spiky looking tops, but the only ones I had like that were short and again, trying to limit my CC. But I like the fence I chose. It’s stone, which I’ve established is common in the area, and was probably constructed during the rebellion. This structure could definitely be something that started out a small fortification but was built up quickly once Arndt rose to power.
The main building is entirely wood. I probably didn’t have to go for the aged, grey-looking paneling I chose... but that was a style preference and it works.
I’m very happy with the Takemizu gate. It has the little roof just like the picture and I’ve always liked it but not had an excuse to use it.
Tumblr media
I chose to use some basic, rough looking wooden floors because again - the idea is this isn’t meant to be a permanent structure for the royal family in any way. It was built to protect Arndt during the rebellion, to serve as a base of operations, and now it’s home base until his suitably elegant palace is complete. Downstairs you have the main lviing/kitchen quarters, a small room for the tub, the dark room which is going to serve as the throne-ish room, and then a small toilet attached to that.
Tumblr media
I love these wallpapers so much, I ended up using them in all the rooms because they’re gorgeous but not too fancy for the vibe I was going for. This level has a smaller living area that I’ll probably make in to a bit of a study and the master bedroom. I intentionally used a fancier wallpaper for that because I imagine Arndt is very conscious of his image and wants to project his status and wealth.
Tumblr media
The top floor is going to be dedicated to Bernike and Arndt’s initial children. It’s more grand as well, done up in red as that’s one of the official colors Arndt has chosen for himself. Next to the stairs is a long, skinny bathroom because it was just an awkward slice of space. and I wanted another one.

Supply Mission: Entertainment Run
Keep Abel smiling!
any one of the following four clips may play at the beginning of a run
[gate siren, gates raising, gunfire]
SAM YAO: Runner Five! Runner Five, Runner Five, Runner Five. Seems like only a few minutes since you arrived here at Abel, and already you've made a name for yourself, gone on some pretty exciting missions, maybe got the attention of that certain someone I keep seeing you looking at? Well, today's the day to earn yourself maximum township cred. Yeah, well, that's what we call street cred now that we don't have non-zombie infested streets anymore.
And how are you going to make friends here at the township? By rustling us up some entertainment, that's how! We've got just enough spare power to run a few bits of gaming equipment, or there are some other requests. Whatever you find, someone will be very, very grateful.
[gate siren, gates raising, gunfire]
SAM YAO: Do you know that saying, Runner Five? "Man cannot live by bread alone"? Well, I have a new variation on it for you: "A township's morale cannot survive on food, medication, guns, ammo, and technology alone because we need something to keep our minds occupied." To be honest, my version's less catchy. I can see why the first one caught on.
Nonetheless, today, we need you to go out looking for sources of entertainment. We'll have some requests along the way. Everyone loves to chip in on a rec center run.
[gate siren, gates raising, gunfire]
SAM YAO: Runner Five, do you know what killed the dinosaurs? Was it zombies? Was it aliens? Truth is, I don't know. No one knows. ... [sighs] Yes, thank you, Janine. Apparently, it was most likely to have been a centuries-long winter caused by an asteroid. But that's not the point. The point is, I have a theory.
My theory is that the dinosaurs died of boredom. They had food, shelter. Probably had med kits. [sighs] Yeah, all right, I'm being told they did not have med kids, but that's not the point either! The point is, we need more than food, shelter, and med kits. We need something to entertain us on our downtime, to keep our minds away from the horror! Something for us to talk about other than zombies. So today, we're sending you on a run to get recreation supplies. Now, there may be some people along with requests. See what you can find.
[gate siren, gates raising, gunfire]
SAM YAO: I have a dream, Runner Five. It's not a complicated dream. Like so many people, my dream is to find the one thing out there that I'm looking for, the thing that's eluded me for so long, but which I know I'll find one day. It's not true love. It's a copy of Toy Story.
Can you believe no one seems to have found one of those? So I need you to go out looking for one, Runner Five, [laughs] because we have some time, and things are going pretty well around the township. DVD or on a hard drive makes no difference to me, I'm not prejudiced. Toy Story, Runner Five. And a few other people might have some recreation requests too.
any of the following clips may appear in any order during a run
SAM YAO: So uh, what do you want, Janine? Dream recreation item that Runner Five might find. Novels? Classical music? Golf clubs? Yeah, I could see you as a golfer.
JANINE DE LUCA: Wire strippers.
SAM YAO: Oh, come on! It can be anything. Dream fine. Let your mind go wild.
JANINE DE LUCA: Two pairs of wire strippers. [SAM YAO sighs]
EUGENE WOODS: Special request here: the doctor and I -
MAXINE MYERS: Hello, Runner Five.
EUGENE WOODS: Doc and I would love a Scrabble board if you can find one. We've been making do for weeks with a board we made ourselves.
MAXINE MYERS: And I'm not sure the double letter scores are in the right place.
EUGENE WOODS: Oh, you were sure before I got you with mixology. All seven letters, X on the double. Boom!
MAXINE MYERS: Also, mixology? Can we get a dictionary, too? If you can find one.
JODY MARSH: Hey! Runner Four here. So I don't know if you're going near a wool shop, but... well, I've been teaching a few of the Abel people here to knit, and it's been -
ED HARRISON: It's surprisingly soothing, actually. After a long day, sort of restful.
JODY MARSH: So, we're looking for all knitting supplies. Uh, wool, needles, loop needles, stitch holders -
ED HARRISON: What was it I needed for colorwork? A yarn stander?
JODY MARSH: [laughs] Yarn strander. But anything you find will be great. Five, thanks.
JACK HOLDEN: Listen, Five, I need your help. Janine here's showed me her idea of a video game -
JANINE DE LUCA: It's Pong! [JACK HOLDEN laughs] I found it in the attic. It was a classic of its time!
JACK HOLDEN: And it turns out this is the most recent game Janine's ever played.
JANINE DE LUCA: When you've played the classics, why do you need to play anything else?
JACK HOLDEN: So, um, bring her literally anything else. We've got a few consoles here, can even negotiate an hour on the laptop. Janine, we can't leave you in ignorance like this anymore.
SARA SMITH: Novels. For me, always novels. The chunkier, the better. I love those, you know, those big classics - Dickens, Dostoyevsky, Dumas.
JANINE DE LUCA: Wait a second, I've heard you talk about computer games. Wasn't there one about stealing cars, and another one about stabbing people?
SARA SMITH: All right, then. Novels and video games. They're practically the same thing, anyway.
JANINE DE LUCA: Oh yes. Which game did Dickens write?
SARA SMITH: He was working on one when he died. Very ahead of his time, Dickens.
SAM YAO: Anyone know what entertainment the Major likes?
MAXINE MYERS: I'm pretty sure she's a keen chess player.
JACK HOLDEN: I've seen her reading big military biographies. Stuff like the campaigns of WWII.
SAM YAO: So that Hungry Hungry Hippos game Runner Five just picked up's probably not going to do it for her.
MAXINE MYERS: You know what I miss? LOLcats. I used to love those things. No one bothered to archive them, though.
JODY MARSH: I miss magazines. Stupid, dumb magazines you could flick through and find out what celebrity had broken up with her boyfriend. I miss ignoring them because they were stupid and then reading somebody else's copy anyway. I miss nonsense! If you find any magazines, bring them in?
ED HARRISON: Driving games. I used to like Gran Turismo. So realistic and accurate! If you stop into any [?] Secondhand Games, well, they might have some.
SAM YAO: We've got a request here from a runner in the field. Andrew Grimberg, Runner Sixteen, is requesting bike parts, bike tools, bikes in general. We suspect that Grimberg might be working on some kind of alternative to running, but we can't be sure.
SARA SMITH: Runner Eight, here. Me and Runner Twenty, Garik Duvall, have a little plan. If you find any footballs, or rugby balls, American footballs - you know, anything round we can kick or throw about - we think it's time to set up a bit of a five-a-side.
JANINE DE LUCA: Quick request from Runner Six. She's patrolling the northern perimeter today, but she's asking if you find extra writing equipment – paper and pens – to bring it back for her. The novel's going well. She's going to read out the latest bit on Thursday night at the rec center.
SAM YAO: Oh, now, I know we haven't sent you out that way before, Runner Five, but if you head straight on, you'll come to the Matthew O'Reilley Center for Performing Arts. We think they might have costumes, stage makeup, that sort of thing, and I think there's some kind of zombie musical brewing.
SARA SMITH: Look, there! Gray Dog Sports. Tennis rackets, basketball hoops. Shoes are always handy. Oh, look! They have hockey sticks. A weapon, a field splint, and a game! Bring as many as you can.
JANINE DE LUCA: Janine here. Do have a look for some fishing rods in the tackle shops down by the river. Try Isaac Grady's place. Fishing rods: useful, practical.
SAM YAO: Fishing rods? On a rec run? Do you even know the meaning of the words "have some fun"?
JANINE DE LUCA: I know the meaning of the words "survive the apocalypse."
EUGENE WOODS: You know what we really do need? More blankets.
SAM YAO: Blankets? This is supposed to be run for rec center supplies. Have some imagination, man!
EUGENE WOODS: They are recreation supplies. Blanket fort!
any one of the following four clips may play at the end of a run
SAM YAO: Wow, that's great work, Runner Five! Come on home now with what you've got. DVDs, board games, novels, art supplies. Yeah, that'll keep us busy on the long, zombie-filled nights. Hmm, still no magic solar-powered Xbox, I see. [sighs] I can dream, can't I?
SAM YAO: Amazing job, Runner Five! So much sports equipment to keep us running around after we've all finished work. Well, after you're finished running around for the day. Still, it's totally different running around after a ball, right? There'll be a warm seat for you at the five-a-side football anytime you want to spectate though, Runner Five.
SAM YAO: Whoa! Backpack filled with novels, movies, and - three copies of Twister! That's going to be a hell of a Twister party. Runner Five, for this, you get first choice at the library, first pick at the movies, and we'll give you one extra life in endurance Twister. You rock!
SAM YAO: Runner Four's going to be pleased; a backpack full of yarn. Which means Runner Seven's going to be pleased; Four offered to knit him a wooly hat. And Runner Eighteen's going to be pleased because he gets Runner Seven's old hat. So you've basically created a cascade of happiness here through the township, Runner Five. When you get back home, there'll be a cup of tea waiting for you, made with a fresh tea bag.

Bitcoin | Chainlink | LINK BTC | Price Prediction Today | NEWS & Market Analysis | May 2020
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Good morning. Good morning. Good morning, guys. My name is Sean Dexter and my name is Krisha. And we welcome you to The Mango Grove on this Friday for your daily Bitcoin chain link. And that’s cool. I like to say it, whatever else. This is new video. All right. So, Cuccia, do you want takingly today? No. I’m going to let you do the talking for the most part, because we actually found something rather interesting today. Did we? Oh, yes. Yes. Right. So we were actually sending out a couple of Bitcoin transactions when we noticed that the fees have hit the roof. Yes, they have. So I said peculiar Shaan. Well, usually I would I would just brush it off because fees do go up from time to time. It’s part of it’s part of Bitcoin does. But this time around, it was interesting to me because it’s happening maybe soon after the halving. Right. I was I was, in a way, keeping an eye out for this. So prompted me to come on to the charts, oil and check out what’s going on here. And if you noticed, gusher fees have gone up and we’re looking at oil. The shot is over the past 60 days. We’re looking at the transaction fees in BTC amount. So this isn’t the USD value of the transaction fees. So you can see or hear Bitcoin has gone up in price. So that’s why the transaction fees are gone up in price on total amount. Well, this is the total fees in Bitcoin value and they have gone up pretty spring notably. Right. And the reason I am interested in keeping an eye on this moving forward is because everybody’s been questioning how I know is going to survive. If they block, reward is going to reduce. And for those of you who are a little confused on what I’m talking about, the block reward is the mining reward, the bitcoin that the miners receive for mining bitcoin. Right. If they manage to find the block Proval folk, et cetera, I’ll go ahead and read my article to explain proof of work. Use simple analogies on mango research. OK, cool. I will link that below. Yeah, you say that, but you never do. I don’t. No you don’t. And then people at Billye will definitely link this one below in the description. But hey, it’s movie night. You can’t get stuck doing all of that stuff. So she she she does this where she’s like, okay, I’m going to do this. This is one thing, Sean. And then I’m I’m waiting for her to come back and she’s just gone. Jesus, can’t you find the darn thing to do? Oh, by the way, shout out to Wishaw. He recommended a really nice movie that we’re going to be watching today. Show which one? I’m not gonna mention it because I know that at least one YouTube fan of yours is going to comment underneath and ruin the movie for me. It’s like giving us a tour van. So, yeah, let’s go back to what’s going on here. Right. So transaction fees have gone up. And what’s interesting, I do have a chart here. Okay. Yeah. Conformal transactions per day, however, are still pretty healthy, right? Yeah, they’ve come down, but it’s still in this rising channel again. But look at only the past 60 days. Now, what is it? I mean, you said something about, you know, your thoughts on on well, the fees going up. I thought it was rather interesting. What were my thoughts on the whole, you know, the free market. Oh, right. So this economy. Well, how people are confused as to how these fees are actually set. It’s not really the miners who are setting the fees. Right. It’s people who are out competing. It’s actually US users who are trying to outcompete each other to get priority. Yes. To send out transactions. So if you guys have noticed, we get to set the fees we want when we’re sending out a transaction. The miners are going to be picking the fees or other transactions that gives them the most money. Right. So if a farm lobby wants to bid a high amount, it’s not going to go up that high. Right. It’s only when people are actually willing to pay those fees that the fees are going to go up. Now, keep in mind, the miners could refuse to mine if they feel like the transaction fees are not good enough. But usually that even if you put your fees are zero, eventually all transactions should get sent through. A miner will just pick up your transaction, put in the block. And yet again, we’re going to go into to me to take the technicalities are going to get too much. So, yeah, this I’m gonna be keeping an eye on this to see. You’ve been on all of this to see how all of this unfold over the next six months or so. Yeah, there’s something interesting to keep an eye on now. Yeah. Let’s go back on all the charts. Crucial what you think both of our bullish. Bullish? Why, yes. I liked yesterday’s close. First of all. But however, note that we are heading into the weekend. Right. And so also, where does. Seems close, still an open seemy atmosphere. So if you guys are concerned, what, that gets filled? We can look at it if we do form a significant gap like we did last time. It’s what it worth watching. But let’s look at the mangled ribbon. Right. How is Bitcoin closed down? We did close all the tennis. I mean, it came down, tested it, and we’ve bounced this morning before. Also had a really, really good close. And what do you know? Right. Coming down, testing between when he made testing the tank in the tank in the tunie. I mean, closing all the tennis somy as well. And every candle since then, we’ve been closing all the tennis. I mean, this is looking really, really bullish. Bitcoin is acting spec tactlessly for me, for my positioning, because we took a long shot here. And, you know, I wasn’t too keen on taking profits. Right. It’s why I saw it calls against this. And now those calls are expired, worthless. And here I. I’m still in my position. Nice. Yeah. The thing, though, was I don’t wanna get too excited just yet because if you go out to the baby, there is a chance of us putting in a putting in this or your as a lawyer. Hi. Oh hi Louhi. And then this does kind of get and I think George always doin this to Georgia from the magazine. She was looking at this as a potential head and shoulders. We may get that right. We may get that. And we did we did kind of have something like this or. You’re right. Vaguely similar price action. Look at this. I do do have. It’s not clear. Head and shoulders. But, hey, this did play out. I do think it might. It’s measured. Move to show your pattern. Queen do. Did you look at this map? No, it was your birthday. You want to focus. We were so focused that entire week on your birthday discussions about week that, hey, he’s seen smile and he is smiling on the outside. But you’re on the inside. He’s like, probably crying right now. Yeah, that was missed. Missed out. Missed out. But yeah. OK. So because like I said, is acting pretty well. We’re here testing the tennis, me closing. All this was on the way here to nine thousand six hundred kilos onto for me. She was like this is gonna look good and this is the way I’m seeing it. If you actually take out the sweet core here, I don’t think this holds onto the ten thousand forty five is gonna beat the resistance. I’ll be looking at I’d be looking at ten thousand three on a nine ten thousand seventy two, to be exact, with you guys. We can go ahead and drop the zone nationally if we want top ten thousand. Well that’s all that’s the wick. Or here is a nice hundred one hundred forty five dollar a week. So yes, we could look at the zonal here. I do think we come and test this year. If you work about here and then dump, that’s going to be bad. If you wick above this region, I’d be expecting contribution. But if we dump off that old man, Pluto, I do think then again, I’d be looking down to 6000 region level squishier. You think? I don’t know. You are having this discussion about 6000 in yesterday’s video as well as in the mango sea chat. And yeah, I mean, it wouldn’t be quite deadly, to say the least. Yeah, to say the least. I’m looking at well, those little seven thousands, if we do have to make a move to the downside. Like I said, it’s about being prepared. Right. Being prepared for if price comes here, then we’re going to do this. It’s just about having all your levels in one good bird’s eye view. And I’ll be personally I will be layering in spot my spot buys. OK. So, yeah, I would you be looking to take a short position at all. If we do break. And where would you be looking to take a short position. I don’t know if I’m looking to take a shot at actually. I just want to be focused on getting my long position in. Because if I prefer, I have this this thing where if I’m focusing on my short and I let my my inner bear tail miss out on long, then I miss out on the long and I feel like there’s any opportunity, at least for me personally. OK, now this is not financial advice. You don’t have to follow it necessarily. But I like kind of separating that, you know, and I feel like that the bigger trade, that chunkier trade to be had in the long term is going to be on the bullish side. So your strategy is buy the dip. That’s a sergeant. Yes, that is my strategy. So right now, we are going to focus on that. We are in a bull market, too. Not yet. Not until those weekly levels are taken out and we start putting in those weekly highs. But no, I want to focus on building a better long term position than I already have. OK, that’s fair. That’s fair. What I hear I’ll be looking to if I if I do get the opportunity, I will be looking to take a short position underneath the 21 Yemi and the Tankan, I, I don’t think I’d want to get it. But ideally, what I what I really want to see is the 21 M in the tank in line up or hill and then we close underneath your test and down. Right. That would be the ideal situation because this is what’s going to happen. I feel I feel like this 21 Emman Tankan is not gonna be the spectre the next time we do come down. This horizontal, on the other hand, might. B, because the quinten to do this, we blow through the upside, not restricting the hose onto, but the next time we come down. Everybody expects to buy it. I’m expecting it to be a major level and instead it blows right through it. Again, tests it as image level now as resistance. Everybody going, what the hell? We broke it here. We broke it here. And now doing resistance. Nobody is going to bite. No. Got shot into it. Okay. And that’s that’s the trade that’s going to end up being the trade right here. So it’s funny you that because even that’s what happened in the last sort of dump, right. When we didn’t break and come all the way down to test. Well, for here again. Exactly. And I mean, it looks so unassuming because Bitcoin has this. Look at this. So you’re so perfect. 10 can keep you on 21. You mean all lined up with or there? I think this one was the reason this one pains me is because this was an easy trap. This was an easy target. I missed that. So you can never gauge the magnitude of the move. No, no, no. Right. That it could lead to a positioning yourself and saying that, OK, you know what? This is a good short and you’re right over there. I mean, that was a beautiful shot. Everything kind of lined up. But the magnitude, you’re sort of just praying and hoping for the magnitude. And I would not have predicted a move like this is Norway. No way. But hey, in hindsight to say, oh, it’s so obvious, koruna, why is liquidity, blah, blah, blah. But Tom, I don’t think out of that this like going all. But when you woke up that morning when he saw three thousand eight hundred, I was so excited to buy. And then Debbie gave us another gift by having a fully organized discount on the SEPs. So, yeah, when you see opportunity and you see that kind of blood on the street, you have to you don’t really well on that. Yeah, I was pretty proud of myself. I’m improving on the mistakes I used to make. So you tend to be afraid, right. You tend to be afraid and not take the trade and then you regret. So what you need to do as a trader when you get those feelings of regret. Remember that. Remember them, because that’s that’s now eastern a card for you. Remember them. Reflect on them right down if you have to. And the next time you feel it, those emotions, recall them, bring them back. Oh, wait a minute. I felt. How many times have we been discussing trade opportunities and a sunny flip flip and these emotions capture these emotions. It reminds me of so-and-so incident. I’m going to take the other side of that. Yeah. Right. How many times have we done that? That’s been helping me a lot. Just like using those bad experiences to your advantage. Down the line. So, like, you know, pocket them pocket about it to us. All right. So, yeah, enough of that to keep this video shot. I do, actually, because I got scared. And the three key level I did. Yeah. I’m going to be very blunt here. I mean, I got I was at the edge of my seat. And remember, I ran to you. And he was in a alone. How did you catch that? What made you do that? So like with no legal advice, this is looking so songgang right over here. Don’t don’t ever get too excited too fast. When we have such a big move to the upside close or the keys, you’ll have a close underneath. But I wasn’t too excited about this gusher. If you do remember, I was going long. You were looking for for the continuation. Why? Because he did not get the open and the close. Right. Did not give the opening close. And now we’re seeing that it’s very unlikely that we close underneath the keys. You’ll see that yet, though, right? Because, I mean, look at we’ll look at what that weekly candle that is that we went all the way up to that. So we still haven’t taken out that previous high of the weekly. Right. So, I mean, I do this is because as it tells me anything, it has a very high thousand eight hundred isn’t too far away, to be honest. And we we’ve been right here, actually, right here. There was a similar situation. Right. And if those of you who haven’t watched the videos that we were doing on this run to the upside and how we were trading it to the upside here. And then again, down to this level, please go and watch. It was a very, very valuable experience in how to put on to trade, how to be patient. Right up until the end of the week. Yeah. Right. It looked like me exiting my trade. Turned out to be a wrong thing because I’d taken along. You saw the bounce throughout but at exited my lawn. Right. Why? Because this candle or here I do want to spend some time on this. This candle here I bought on the Tankan and the 21 Yemi. And it’s 10 on the 21 Yemi. But my thesis was relying on this actually bouncing and getting defended on the 21. I mean, we didn’t get that. So I started exiting my position on the following week while we started going to the upside. And right till the end of the week, this was looking bullish. Guys, this was only a green candidates. And I think it was a green candle. Yeah, right up until the last, what, twelve hours or was it less than twelve hours? I remember this week for this. We got up early. Yeah. And Jesus. So I was like I was even telling guys I might have been but I might have been trapped. Right. I may have been trapped out of my trade. And it is what it is. It’s about sticking to your rules and sticking to your thesis. If invalidated, you had a thesis and doesn’t come true. Just get out and hit. Sometimes you’re gonna get trapped out of your trade. I’m gonna show you guys an example of, um, on gee, where I got to exit my train. 40 percent right after. But that’s gonna happen someplace. But you still stick with your rules. Yeah. And look at what happens right after I draw on the lost last hours of the week. Dumped. And then next week. Boom. Right. Imagine Zain being stuck in a trade or way here and the week doesn’t give. All this happened so fast. People look at this Kandal years as a one week. But this was actually just always leading into this week. Yeah. So this was more like all happening in one week. This was all one week’s price action. 40 percent up. Right. So. Yeah. So now, Cacher. Yeah, you’re right. We may end up closing under the when I don’t get too cocky. There are three possibilities here really. So Price the weekly either closed in, closes inside the cloud. OK, that’s one. Now if we do that, where do you think we’re going. Well, nine times close a week in nine point six. Hundreds of kilos for me. Right. So we close to be close above nine out of 600. I’m going to be staying in my trend rate for sure. Close. And underneath. You’re not. I’m not. I don’t. It’s not enough for me to get out of my position. But the reason I’ll be staying busy for sure, a nine or 600. Because even on the low timeframes is key. Do we get all the way to the top of the cloud? I don’t want to I, I don’t think the cloud. OK. That’s what I don’t want to go through the cloud. I really think we’re going to go through. If we get to the top of the line, I think I’m gonna go through. I really think so. I don’t know if we’re going to go through. I think and I’m kind of the guy. If we do close inside, I’ll be gunning for eleven point seven. I’ll be waiting to see what price does. Eleven thousand seven hundred. Yeah. Around that range of the action. I’m sorry. The top of the cloud basically. I don’t know. I’ve got it. So if you think about the top of the cloud over here is eleven thousand three hundred eleven thousand three hundred ten thousand seven hundred at the top of this area. Right. But if you close next to gets ten thousand seven hundred. But I. What’s this. There’s nothing stopping us from going to eleven point five. No, not you. You may be as a team and not do anything. What about what about if the price closes between the cloud and the keys. You on occasion. Then I think we may do what Tom. I think Hachi. Or is it. We shall talked about this in Mango Grove. Just going sideways or here with me. I should do that. And then do something about it. This it. And this is with weeks of price action just going sideways. So if we close below the occasion then the tankan. Yeah. Yeah. So that’s where I’m at at seven thousand one fifty three. But this would be my target. She’s sticking to that either. I’m either going for the moon or going for hell. Right. Yeah. 200 YEMI on them. Yemane Yeah. Let’s put that on. All right. Five thousand. Can you. To be exact. Six thousand. Who I’ve been calling 6k. There you go. Two under the Yemi. So. OK. Now if this then that if this trend that I’m. I’m ready. I have my plan. So we’ll we’ll just wait. Okay. So that’s a bitcoin guys. Let’s go out and look at chain link. Link, link, link. We saw a link BTC again. Of course. Look at the Binaca Shahtoosh. Click on this, actually. OK. So as you know, I’m out of my Lync trade. I got out because of the daily tennis when you close underneath. Let me just hide all of this. We’ll be looking kindly, Sabinas. I think we’re looking at Coinbase, Solice, Coinbase. I think Bynum’s really has better history now, but I’m in charge. Shorten it on. Oh, well, listen, thank you to my bad finance. OK. A link you as devia looking at Conaway’s on this. OK. So I got all your tennis samey. Right. And it does look like we’ve come and test that level. It’s taking Samten load. OK. So then we got Reclose on the Tasman. That’s what I’ve got on my trade. I was looking for this to hold over here and also put in a higher low and then possibly put in a high high for do not get that as soon as we lost that. The higher law may be may be coming somewhere on Teil, but it’s all looking like that to me right now. In fact, rejection of the tennis. I mean I do like to see that, not because I’m an outrage to the downside, but does show me that my lead on the market, because I got out of the 10 out of the tennis week, has been overly in conjunction with the major market players. So I cos you can see this retest of the tennis ring got sold into one right after the close up underneath the tennis me. We saw the follow through to the downside and to the retests was rejected. So, OK, cool. I’ve a good read. This is looking like it may want to come and test at the very least. Thirty seven thousand six hundred eighteen Satoshi. OK, so breaking this down or you’re not going to be a good look. I think we come and test this level here. This cluster here, it’s one of the major, major weeklies that will push up. I wanted to see you how price reacted off that two hundred simple moving average that you had on an on your previous on the daily. Yes, because we do have that 200 moving average running. Right through. Right. And no, it’s been pretty short on it. I wouldn’t say it’s been a good guide. Right. It’s been a good guy again, guys. I do recommend you guys watch my video on moving averages and exponential moving. I was just people don’t fully understand how to properly use them. I wouldn’t say this has been shit at all. You’ve gotten good trades often. Yes. They’ve not been clear support and resistance trades, but that’s not necessarily how you need to use it. You can see that here. Yes, we lost it all here. This could have been a trap accumulation and we retook it. And look at the angle of the torn moving average as long as the angle has been up to towards the upside. And this has been trending. The upside link has been trending to the upside. So you can keep an eye on this. And as soon as we start kind of seeing this layer towards the downside, that may be one way to say, you know what? Maybe Link is beginning to lose its overall longer term trend. So I wouldn’t say it’s completely used as you’re using it as a guide for overall market direction. OK. Right. I was looking at in terms of subalterns using it as a level to take your trades offer. Yeah. So that’s one way to use it. And that’s completely fair. That’s how I use 21, Yemi. Right. And the tennis, et cetera. But you can also use these as a guide. Right. We shouldn’t just dismiss them. So that’s the daily on Chumlee BDC. Should we talk about it as an on match? You guys are on the weekly action. Oh yes. I was on the overall diagonal that no action on the dog might want to look at this horizontal. This area will I’d be me come down and test this regional here. If we do start taking on this week at thirty six thousand eight hundred nine, that notion this was that cluster that I was talking about on The Daily Show, I try to work here. So thing chairman can can come down a lot. That’s a good eleven percent more to the downside. So it will be really bullish to me medially Bush, me and I’d be looking to buy off that as we come down your test to say, oh, here on Wyk, above the straight line, that’s going to be very, very interesting to me. So if we do that, I’m going to be a buyer almost instantly, as many bullish. And I’d be looking for for the contribution to the upside to Sunline has been really, really good. So that’s shingling BDC We can go out and look at chainlink USD. Quickly. And Chenega, as he guides, has really been doing nothing, just going sideways while it’s losing Bitcoin value. We are waiting for this to pick a direction once it does. That’s when we’ll be like, OK, we can take a trade long and link BTC, but perhaps on link you as the member what we’re looking for, for Link to make a decision independent of Bitcoin. For now, it’s just been going sideways. If we do start losing this horizontal all year round three dollars and fifty cents, I do reckon we come down and test the kitchen as well as doing a moving average sitting on two dollars and 90 cents. We do have weekly support at two dollars and 60 cents. We lose that again, the same cluster we hear that we’re likely to test. But right now, a direction is sweeping towards the upside. We have a lot of room to move. We could be moving something like 20 percent. That’s some nice moves to be had. But again, on that same regard, right. You can have a nice three percent move towards the downside, too. So you have to be very careful. When I sat looking at my trades, what has helped me is to force started how much I can stand to lose if this goes the wrong direction in a mode of compression, in a zone of compression like this. It’s got to pick a direction. I do. I really want to sit in it in it while it could go either way. This is a 50/50 trade right now. Just looking at the link you see chart. I don’t want to be in this how I’d rather pick a direction, a clear direction that is independent of Bitcoin and then get another trade. Right. You can make money on both sides. So 10 percent either direction. Just wait. Be patient and take the trade. That is my opinion. I agree. And I don’t and I don’t mean to say, hey, be a brick. I’ll trade on you often get a break and then retest something of that and then downside. And Link, like we’ve observed, is very, very generous. It is on those very to be the retest and for the continuation to whichever side in broken to begin with. And those tend to be you. So that’s the guys for me, at least Kushan. Any thoughts? Closing thoughts. I know nothing. You’ve covered everything. That coin chain link for all the fans and. Yeah. All right. So but looking good. And if he goes by this horizontal moon, it won’t take a shot. I thought you were looking for 7000. Okay. So, man, I’m actually I’m actually tied in tomorrow’s video chow doing the mango. Did the sassy weather guys.

Bitcoin | Chainlink | LINK BTC | Price Prediction Today | NEWS & Market Analysis | May 2020 šŸ®

Three Fixes That Solved Our Shameful Front Porch
Beach house stuff is flying along, and we owe you guys a giant post (in the meantime you can see some pics on Instagram and Facebook) but we have some breaking porch news, which is that it no longer looks neglected and abandoned. Plus I got a little ā€œcreativeā€ with the bushes so they’ll never die on me again. I don’t have a great ā€œbeforeā€ photo because it wasn’t something I ever thought to capture for posterity, but think dirty old doormat, dead plants, discolored brick, and spiderwebs (but not of the Halloween-decoration variety).
One thing that tipped us off to the problem was taking our annual First Day of School photos out in front of the door. We were looking at this year’s photos next to the previous year’s photos to see how much the kids grew, but another thing that caught our attention was the tragic progression of our fading front door mat. It’s like that thing was just begging to be put out of its misery, but it happened so slowly we didn’t really notice until we were reminded how it used to look.
So I ordered another extra-wide mat (this is the one we got). If you have sidelights or a double door, I can’t tell you how strongly I recommend a wider doormat. They can be a pain to track down, and aren’t super cheap (ours is the 30 x 48″ one for $79) but we found that any normal sized ones looked kindĀ of dinky and unbalanced on our porch.
But the real stars of this refresh are the two evergreen trees in the black planters. We’ve had THE WORST time keeping plants alive here – so dead plants have been flanking the front door for 90% ofĀ the last 4.5 years. Every year we would buy something, it would fry from the insane direct sunlight our porch gets, and then the sad remains of the dearly departed plant would sit in the planter for a few months until we’d lather, rinse, and repeat that process. I tried annuals like creeping jenny and petunias (burned and died). Evergreens like boxwoods and dwarf spruces (burned and died even faster). Ā I’ve tried setting an alarm on my phone to water things every day. I’ve tried the upside-down wine bottle trick to water things. It was like a curse that refused to be broken… until now.
These evergreens can’t ever die BECAUSE THEY’RE FAKE!! After years of trying to make something (anything!) live in these planters I feel LIBERATED! These faux 36″ evergreensĀ came into my life at the perfect time. I was at my wits end. And even though I worried they’d look lame and plastic-y, I was willing to roll the dice and try them.
You have to fluff them up when they arrive (they look sort of flat right out of the box) but they’re SO CONVINCING! The color is right. The large size is awesome. The price is way less than I’ve paid for all the things that have died on me in the past. I’m basically in love with these bushes and if loving them is wrong I don’t want to be right.
And yes, I plopped the little black pot that each tree comes in right into the dirt of our larger black planters (these are similar black planters if you’re looking). The real dirt around them just ads to the realism ;)
The last of the three things that whipped our porch back into shape was more subtle (which is my way of saying it was just deferred maintenance on our part). Since we had our pressure washer out to clean the brick on the back of the house after ripping off the deck, John sprayed down the front porch while he was at it because he wants to spray everything with the pressure washer.Ā  Again, I don’t have a great ā€œbeforeā€ of this, but you can see the grime on the brick steps in this photo I found below.
There’s also this picture I took to show off my new fake evergreens on InstaStories. Look how green and mildewy the white railing looks. Yeesh.
We haven’t pressure washed this area since before we moved in over 4 years ago, so it was well overdue. The before and afters were pretty similar to what you saw in this post, but it was actually the first time we ever pressure washed the stone aggregate walkway. It’s one of those things you don’t realize you need until you see the difference it makes (in the photo below John had just done the outline and the diagonal stripe to show the improvement). How crazy is that difference?!
So this is how the porch looks, thanks to our new NEVER GONNA DIE plants, our new not-faded extra wide doormat, and a little stone & brick facial (aka:Ā power washing).
I also have some percolating plans to update the portico a bit more, with chunkier trim around the triangle and squared off columns, kind ofĀ like this porch, designed by Lasley Brahaney that I found hereĀ (but I’d love to keep our Chippendale railings – so not this exactly).
In the meantime I’ll take the fact that it no longer looks like it’s hosting a spider meet & greet for the surrounding five counties. Although we did dress it up for Halloween (because fake spooky things beat ten thousand actual spiders).
Clearly a lot of this stuff is just seasonal, but if the kids have any say, the chihuahua skeleton (which we’ve affectionately named Skeleburger) will be there year-round. We also added a few pumpkins that we picked out with the kids and a few quirky ā€œanimal friendsā€ (I can’t find an identical owl to link to, but this one would be awesome for Halloween too).
We’ve had this ceramic white rabbit a while (he’s out year round just to send the ā€œceramic animals are always welcome hereā€ message to the neighbors) but he works for Halloween too. Although he’s definitely out-creeped byĀ the black feather crowĀ andĀ our floppy little black feather wreath.
I know what you’re going to ask. How does Burger feel about Skeleburger. Does he love him? Does he loathe him? Well, Burger’s reaction can best be described as aloof and unimpressed.
Whenever he sees him he’s all, ā€œOh, it’s you. How boring.ā€ He doesn’t just strut or sashay by. He makes a point of being straight up unimpressed. Sometimes he stops and yawns. This time he freaking stopped and stretched right in front of him. Like, ā€œLook how long and flexible I am. You can’t even move. And why do you have ears if you’re a skeleton?!ā€ It was a true demonstration of dog dominance.
So that’s what the porch is looking like these days. The spiderwebs might come back, and the mat might eventually fade, but I’m pretty sure the bushes are going to outlive us all.
