This might be a dumb question, but how would the 141 and LV boys, especially Soap and Gaz, would act if they had a sleepover/slumber party?
Sleepover
Featuring: AleRudy, PriceNik, and some SoapGhost
(POV switches between Soap and Ghost)
___
Soap used to have sleepovers all the time when he was younger, but those happened a long time ago. Gaz also had a lot of sleepovers, but after a falling out with a friend, those stopped when he was fourteen. Somehow the two started talking about their childhoods and sleepovers came up.
"We all would hole up in the basement and watch scary movies that we snuck in."
Gaz snorts, "My friend had a clubhouse in the garden we would all stay in. Felt like we were in the wilderness, surviving off crisps and fizzy drinks."
Soap laughs, "I miss those days... laying on the floor, trying to be quiet so we could stay up past our bed time."
"Ah, good times."
They stared at the TV in front of them, quiet. Gaz found himself unable to focus on what was happening on the screen. Soap eventually pauses the TV, turning to Gaz.
"I want to have a sleepover."
Gaz blinks, "A sleepover? Suds, we're grown men in the military. We have 'sleepovers' in tents or holed up in a motel room, waiting for our target to go to sleep."
"C'mon, Kyle! Don't you want to relive your childhood?"
"Which part?"
Soap glares at Gaz who looks away, "Johnny, when would we even have time for that? And would it even be a sleepover if it's just the two of us?"
"What you're saying is: If I get more people to agree to a sleepover you'll join?"
Gaz stares before sighing with a roll of his eyes, "Yes, Johnny. If you get some other people to join us, I'll have a sleepover with you."
Soap grins and jumps up, "Prepare to stay up eating junk food and watching shitty movies!"
He runs out, Gaz calling after him, "Only if we have time, Suds!"
_
Soap made it his mission to get some people to join their sleepover. He, of course, went to Ghost first. Soap didn't bother to knock, just barged into his lieutenant's office. Ghost greeted him with a deadly glare but otherwise didn't say anything about Soap's intrusion.
"Hey, LT. How do you feel about sleepovers?"
Ghost looks at Soap carefully as if he's trying to uncover his deepest, darkest secrets.
"How do I feel about sleepovers?"
"Yes, sir."
"They're for kids."
Soap pouts and drags a chair from the corner around and moves it next to Ghost before sitting in it. Soap leans closer to Ghost, grinning.
"C'mon, big guy. Got any good sleepover stories?"
Ghost glares at Soap before going back to the report in front of him. Soap sits there silently for a couple minutes, waiting for Ghost to say something. Soap huffs after Ghost calmly puts the report to the side, only to grab another one.
"Keeping up the air of mystery, huh? Fine, I'll leave ya alone. Go mess with Price. Bet he has some good stories he's not afraid to share."
Soap gets up and leaves, not noticing Ghost's shoulder slump with a sigh as he walks out the door.
_
Soap was surprised to run into Roach when he did. Roach in and out of the base all the time and it was hard to tell when he was there. So imagine Soap's shock/delight when he sees the guy walking down the hall.
"Hey, Roach!"
Roach looks up and laughs, "Hey, Soap!"
Soap runs over and grabs Roach, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Why didn't you tell me you were back!?"
"Well, I only got in a couple hours ago and just got out of a debriefing."
Soap wraps his arm around Roach's shoulders and starts to lead him down the hall, "You need to tell me everything that happened on your trip."
Roach eyes him suspiciously, "You want to here about my mission... that was a stakeout?"
"Yep!"
"Johnny... Weren't you the one who told me stakeouts were the most boring kind of jobs in existence and that you would rather be stuck in a room with a hungry bear than be on one or talk about one?"
"What? I would never say that!"
Roach glares and Soap looks away.
"Okay... maybe I did say that. But! I still want to hear about how everything went."
Roach laughs, "It was so damn boring. I'd rather not relive it."
"Then let's talk about something else. What was the craziest sleepover you ever had?"
Roach blinks, "Sleepover?"
Soap hums, "Yep! Sleepover."
"... I have a couple crazy stories."
"Then let's go talk about the past... and the future."
Roach grins, "Alright, let's talk."
It didn't take much convincing to get Roach on board. But Soap wasn't going to stop after getting one person to agree to have a sleep over with him and Gaz. Oh no, he had a whole slew of people in mind.
_
Gaz was eating a sandwich when Soap barged into the kitchen. Gaz flinched when Soap slams his hand onto the counter next to him, the man having a wide grin on his face.
"Guess what!"
Gaz slowly chews before swallowing, "What?"
"I got four people to agree to a sleepover!"
"What!?"
"Five if Price comes back from his mission on time."
"How did you manage that? And who all did you talk to?"
"Well, I talked to Ghost but he was his usual moody, edgy self so he didn't even want to talk about his sleepover experiences. But I did get Roach and Nik on board. Also called Alejandro and Rudy to ask them if they felt like taking a break!"
Gaz blinks, putting his sandwich down, "Damn, you've been busy!"
"Yep!"
"I guess we're having a sleepover."
Soap grins widely, "YEP! Prepare for junk food, shitty movies, ghost stories, and whatever sleepover cliche we'll indulge on!"
Gaz snorts, "Alright. Let's get planning."
_
Ghost often kept himself out of the loop. Kept himself distanced from everyone and did things on his own. He felt left out on some things but he always reminded himself there's a reason why he was left out. Ghost stuck to work and hiding away when he wasn't knee deep in bodies or paperwork. He of course longed for connection, but he couldn't bear getting too close to someone only to lose them. So he remained a loner. Though Ghost was tired of watching everyone else have their fun, goofing off. Hell, even Price joins in sometimes.
He knows he was doing it to himself, he had no one to blame for his misery and loneliness but him.
So, here he was. Watching Soap, Gaz, and Roach run past his office with different things. Pillows, blankets, what should be an illegal amount of candy and other kinds of junk food and drinks. He tried to ignore them, but then Gaz and Soap marched past with the biggest TV that Ghost had ever seen on the base, Roach following closely behind with what looked like gaming consoles. He found himself unable to focus on his work, so Ghost got up and followed Roach when he darted past again with a box.
He followed the man into a older part of the base and into what was once a meeting room. But when Ghost looked inside he saw that the three sergeants had set everything up into some kind of hangout space. They had moved a desk into the corner and put the big ass TV on it, hooking up all kinds of consoles and devices to it. There was a fucking mini fridge in the corner that Gaz was stocking full of drinks. Ghost stepped around the corner and into the room.
"What the fuck is all this?"
Soap yelps in surprise, throwing a remote across the room. The remote nails Gaz in the back, the man crying out in pain. Roach was frozen, kneeling over the pile of pillows and blankets that he was arranging. Ghost crosses his arms, making eye contact with Roach.
"I asked you three a question."
Soap stepped away from the TV, "Well, LT, this is where we're going to be having a sleepover."
"Sleepover? You three are aware that you're grown ass men, right?"
"Yes, but-"
"You three have more important matters to be handling. Not holing up in a room eating D grade crisps!"
Gaz looks at the bag of crisps he was holding, "I knew I shouldn't have gotten the off-brand..."
Ghost growls, "Clean this shit up, now."
"Whoa, what's going on in here?"
Ghost turns to see Nik. He didn't even stop to think about why Nik was on base or when he had gotten here, he just waved around at the room.
"These three tore this place up so they can have a fucking sleepover!"
Nik blinks and looks around, "You boys work fast. Looks like we'll be able to get this show on the road a lot sooner than expected.""
Ghost processes what Nik said for and moment, "What?"
"Did they not invite you?"
"Invite- You're in on this bullshit?"
"Sleepover, Lieutenant. Not 'bullshit'."
Ghost stares at Nik in shock, the man walking around him and going further into the room. He looks around and grins.
"I'll be bringing snacks and drinks of my own."
Soap jumps over a box of games and movies and bounds over to Nik, "Bring that, what was it?"
"No, no hand made treats. Just store bought."
Soap frowns cartoonishly and Nik laughs. Ghost throws his hands up, wondering what the hell was going on.
"You're adults! Adults don't have sleepovers!"
"Only lame ones," Roach said without thinking.
Gaz and Soap laugh as Ghost's eye twitches. Roach crawls quickly behind Nik, who was grinning.
"Lieutenant, relax. Join us for some fun."
Ghost doesn't reply, just storms off.
_
Ghost took note of Alejandro and Rudy showing up on base three days after finding the sergeants setting up the old meeting room for a sleepover. He expected them to be there for business but was surprised that they actually came for the fucking sleepover. They brought their own snacks and drinks along with games and movies. This made Ghost wonder what the hell they were planning to do considering they had what looked like days worth of drinks and snacks.
He chose to ignore them and just continue working. But he found himself running out of things to do. He saw the last of Roach hours ago, telling him their stupid sleepover had begun. Ghost wasn't sure why it was pissing him off so much that they were having fun. He kept telling himself how childish it was and how they had better things to do other than goof off. Ghost decided to tell Price about it.
"Sleepover, huh?"
"They even wrangled Nik and Colonel Vargas and Sergeant Major Parra into it."
He heard Price hum over the phone. Ghost was expecting him to react more, but instead he responded with a amused tone.
"Did they not invite you to join?"
Ghost wanted to scream.
"Simon, there's nothing wrong with a little play after all the hard work they've been doing. You could use a little play yourself."
Ghost scoffs loudly, "I'm not a child!"
"Simon. It won't kill you to lay around and watch some poorly made movies."
Ghost was surprised to hear Laswell in the background.
"I'm sure if you go apologize-"
"I'm not interested in some childish past time!"
It was childish. He was a grown man and sleepovers were for kids. He never had them as a kid and he definitely didn't need them now. The silence crept on and Ghost felt guilt for snapping like that.
"I didn't mean to yell like that..."
"We know," said Price, ever patient, "We'll see you soon. Should be landing in a few hours."
"Understood, sir."
"And Simon? No more work, alright?"
"... No promises, sir."
_
Ghost never noticed how quiet the base was with Gaz or Soap running around causing trouble. It felt... empty. But he told himself he wouldn't let it bother him. So Ghost decided to go to bed early and read some books he's been meaning to get to. Ghost made his way down the hall, stopping when he felt the urge to go see what chaos Soap and Gaz had created in the old meeting room. The room had already looked like a disaster earlier, he wonders what it looks like now.
Fuck that.
Ghost went to his room.
_
Alejandro had put on a Spanish soap opera when Soap wasn't looking. Alejandro, Rudy, Gaz, and Roach had gotten pretty invested into it while Soap was setting up some games. He finally noticed that what was playing on the TV wasn't in English.
"I thought we were going to watch something scary?"
Rudy, who was snuggled against Alejandro, mutters out, "The atrocious actors they decided to go with is pretty scary."
Soap rolls his eyes but crawls over. He decides to lay in between Gaz and Roach, forcing the two to move.
"Fucking hell, Soap!"
"I just had gotten comfortable!"
Soap just grins and watches the TV. There's was subtitles on for Gaz, Roach, and Nik. Soap wanted to brag that his Spanish has gotten pretty good since he became friends with Alejandro and Rudy. Well, better than Ghost's, at least. That thought immediately brought up Ghost, naturally. Where was he at the moment? Is he still working?
Something happens on screen that makes everyone gasp in shock.
Soap sighs, having missed the scene, before getting up from his spot, disturbing Gaz and Roach again as he does.
"DAMN IT SOAP!"
"ARE YOU WAITING FOR ME TO GET COMFORTABLE!?"
Soap laughs, going over to the snacks and drinks to get him something. He pokes around, realizing there was something missing.
"Did anyone grab the popcorn?"
"Is it not there?"
"The microwave is. The butter salt is. But, no popcorn."
Gaz slaps Roach's shoulder, "You remembered to grab the fucking butter salt but not the popcorn?"
"I thought you were getting it when you got the microwave!"
"How the fuck would I get the damn popcorn if my arms were full carrying the microwave!?"
Gaz and Roach start to argue, Nik becoming more invested in their bickering than the show, and earning a murderous glare from Rudy. If Soap has learned anything from his time being around Rudy: Don't fuck with his cheaply made soap operas.
"Guys! Relax, I'll go get the popcorn."
"You're our savior, Suds!"
Soap rolls his eyes, leaving the room to go get the popcorn. He hums as he makes his way down the hall to the kitchen. If he remembers correctly, Price should be here soon. He said he managed to nab Laswell so she could join them.
I hope she brought cookies. She makes the best cookies.
Soap walks into the kitchen, stopping when he sees Ghost there sipping some tea while waiting for something in the oven.
"Oh, hey LT."
"Did one of you shits take the microwave?"
Soap bites his lip, looking behind him to make sure he had a clear escape before turning back to Ghost.
"Yes?"
Ghost sighs, "Fucking figures. Had to warm up the leftover pot pie in the oven."
"Isn't it better in the oven?"
"Better but it takes longer."
"Ah, right."
Soap looks at the counters. He kneels to look in the lower cabinets but when he doesn't find the box of popcorn, he stands and looks in the top cabinets. After opening a couple, he finds the box of popcorn... On the top shelf, out of his reach.
"Of course."
"Problem, Sergeant?"
Soap could hear the smugness in Ghost's voice, "Did you put the popcorn up there?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I found it sitting on the counter, where it doesn't belong. So I put it in the cabinet, where it belongs."
"Ugh- Why on the top shelf?"
"I think you know why."
Soap groans loudly, "Can you please get it?"
Ghost takes a long, loud sip of tea. He hums in satisfaction, smacking his lips before he looks at Soap.
"No."
Soap scoffs, ''Why not!? You're the one who put it up there!"
"Not my fault you're short."
"You would've gotten it for Roach if he asked!"
"That's because Roach is tiny. You're bigger than him. You can get it."
Soap glares at Ghost before groaning, turning to the cabinet. He stares up at the popcorn before reaching up. When he couldn't reach it, he puts a hand on the counter and tries to give himself a lift so he could reach the popcorn. He could feel the box against his fingertips and that gave him hope! But then he accidentally pushed the box further back into the cabinet.
"FUCK!"
Ghost snickers and Soap turns and glares at him, "Oh, tough luck."
Soap takes a breath in, turning back to the cabinet. He didn't want to climb on the counter, but it looks like he has no choice. Soap lifts himself on the counter, standing on his knees and grabbing the popcorn.
"Finally!"
Soap leaned back to close the cabinet. A mistake on his part. He felt himself lose balance and start to fall back, panic racing through him as he tries to find something to grab onto to prevent himself from falling. But, in his panicked state, Soap grabs the cabinet door. It swings open and does nothing to stop Soap from falling. Soap was sure he was dead or going to get a concussion or brain damage from bashing his head on the counter behind him, but that did not happen.
Soap feels strong arms grab him and stop his fall, Soap instinctively grabbing onto the body the arms were attached to. Soap wheezes, blinking as he registers that someone caught him. He let's out a shaky breath, looking over and meeting his lieutenant's eyes.
"You alright, Johnny?"
Soap just dumbly nods, "Uh huh..."
Ghost sets Soap down, the man taking a moment to remember how to stand on his own. Ghost kept a firm hold on him, making sure he wasn't going to fall, before he eases away. Soap blinks, realizing he didn't have the box of popcorn. He looks around for it, turning to see Ghost picking it up and handing it to him.
"Maybe I should've put it on a lower shelf..."
Soap laughs, taking the box, "Maybe."
Soap notices a broken cup on the floor with spilled tea around it. Ghost dropped it so he could get to Soap in time before he got hurt. Ghost kneels to the floor, picking up pieces of the broken cup carefully. Soap could've just left, but he decided to go over and help Ghost clean up the mess.
"Shouldn't you be getting back to your sleepover?"
"Eh, they were watching some low rated soap opera Alejandro and Rudy brought. Not too interested in going back and watching it," Ghost snickers, Soap looking up at Ghost in confusion, "Something funny?"
"I know the real story behind your callsign."
Soap narrows his eyes, "What is that?"
"They started calling you soap because you're dramatic like a soap opera."
Soap just sighs loudly, Ghost laughing. They finish up cleaning the mess when Soap realizes he smells something burning. Ghost notices, too, stopping to sniff the air before his eyes widened in horror.
"FUCKIN' HELL-"
He stands quickly, running over to the oven and opening it. A wave of smoke bellowed out when he opened the door, and inside was a burnt piece of pot pie.
"Shit- There goes my dinner..."
Soap winces at the sight of the burnt mess. Ghost pulls out the pot pie, defeated, before jumping it all in the sink due to it being to hot to immediately put in the garbage.
"Hey, Si?"
Ghost hums, continuing to stare at his ruined meal.
"We have plenty of food at our sleepover..."
Ghost looks up, turning to look at Soap, "Seriously?"
"Oh, come on. Childish or not, you should come. All your friends are there, we have a fuck ton of food and drinks, and you can even choose what movie we watch first."
Ghost doesn't say anything so Soap continues talking.
"I don't know what kind of things you got up to when you were a kid, but this is something we all did and had fun doing. If you're not having fun in an hour, you can leave. No one will try to force you to stay."
Ghost remains quiet, making Soap fidget in place.
"Well? What do you say?"
Ghost avoids Soap's pleading gaze but he could still feel the intensity behind it. Finally, his stomach growls and he groans along with it.
"Fine. But don't be surprised if I grab some food and just leave."
Soap grins, victorious, "Of course, LT."
_
Ghost followed Soap back to the old meeting room, watching the man practically skip the entire way. Ghost felt nervous as he got closer. He was pretty aggressive about thinking the sleepover was a childish idea, and here he was about to join them.
They stepped into the room and Gaz and Roach immediately looked over and stared. Ghost glared at them and they looked away, pretending that they were watching the soap opera. Alejandro and Rudy notice Ghost next.
"Ghost! Joining us, hermano?"
Nik pats the spot next to him, "You should come sit next to me! Good view of TV and the sergeants. Both are equally entertaining."
Ghost felt uncomfortable with all the attention on him. Thankfully, Soap holds up the box of popcorn like it was a trophy and yells.
"WHO WANTS POPCORN!?"
Gaz and Roach jump up, "ME!"
Soap runs over to the stolen microwave, Ghost thankful when the two sergeants join him and Alejandro and Rudy turn their attention back to the TV. Nik, though, still had his attention on Ghost. Ghost tries to ignore him and just goes over to the pile of snacks hoarded on the table next to the mini fridge.
Where the fuck did they get a mini fridge?
It wasn't knew looking, which meant they either bought a pre-owned mini fridge or there was one on base somewhere. Ghost opens the fridge and finds it packed full of drinks. Fizzy drinks, juices, energy drinks, cold teas-
They prepared for everything.
Ghost sighs and grabs a fizzy drink. He wasn't one for drinking soft drinks but he felt like having one tonight. Ghost cracked the cold can open, pulling his mask down under his chin, and took a sip. He could see Soap walking over to him with a bowl of popcorn. Damn, it smelled good.
"Hey, Si! Want some?"
Ghost looks at the popcorn, the smell making his mouth water. Ghost answers by grabbing a handful and popping a couple in his mouth. He ignores Soap more than delighted grin and just shoves the pieces of popcorn into his mouth. Someone walks into the room, Ghost turning to see Price and Laswell, both carrying boxes.
"I hope we're not too late!"
"Nah, we're just getting started!"
Ghost looks away when Price looks over at him, deciding that the array of snacks were very interesting. Ghost tenses when he and Laswell walk over, setting their boxes down and pulling out containers. Ghost blinks at the cheese straws, sliders, two boxes of homemade cookies, meatballs-
"Stop drooling and make yourself a plate."
Ghost blinks, Laswell smirking at him.
"Had to make sure my boys were fed and not eating bags of chips and whatever other cheap, store bought snacks you grabbed."
Roach suddenly pops up, hugging Laswell tightly. Nik also suddenly appears by the tables, but he wraps an arm around Price's shoulders and kisses him dramatically on the cheek.
Laswell glares at Nik, "Oh, he gets a kiss?"
"He's the one who convinced you to come, so, yes."
Laswell scoffs with a hint of a laugh behind it.
"Don't worry, Kate! I'll give you a kiss for your hard work," said Roach before he pulled his mask down and kissed Laswell's cheek, earning a laugh.
Ghost steps up to the display of party snacks Laswell provided, grabbing a thin paper plate and piling some of the food on it before going to a corner to sit and eat.
_
Soap grabbed some cheese straws to accompany his popcorn before he went to go sit back with Gaz and Roach, who had a concerning amount of cookies.
"Did you take all the cookies?"
Roach slowly looks at Soap, grabbing the plate of cookies and moving them on the other side of him, out of reach.
"No."
Soap glares, "Kate brought those for all of us, not just you."
"I'm her favorite, so I get them."
Gaz gasps and Soap silently puts his plate of food down, approaching Roach.
"Take that back."
"I would... IF IT WASN'T THE TRUTH!"
Gaz was the one to lunge at Roach, the two rolling across the floor. Soap wanted to join but the glare the other two were receiving from Rudy made him decide against it. When it became clear they weren't going to quiet down, Rudy turns off the soap opera and stands. Alejandro tried to grab his husband but he was too slow, Rudy was already standing over the wresting Gaz and Roach.
"IF YOU BITE ME-"
"YOU'RE FUCKING HEAVY!"
They freeze when they notice Rudy glaring down at them. Everyone was quiet, waiting to see what would happen. Surely Rudy was going to kill the two ignorant men for disturbing his soap opera, it was the only suitable punishment for their unforgivable crime.
Gaz immediately turned to flirting to save himself, "Hey, Rudy. Looking absolutely gorgeous tonight!"
Alejandro sits up quickly with a hateful glare, Gaz tensing when he realized he just made things worse for himself. Roach attempts to army crawl away, but Gaz grabs his legs and pulls him back over.
"We're in this together, friend."
Soap backs up, turning to look for Ghost. He was happy to find him still in the room, eating in the corner. Soap grabs his food and walks over to join him. Ghost was nibbling on a cheese straw, watching the chaos unfold in front of him. Soap sits next to him, just in time to see Roach get pinned by Rudy and Alejandro tackling Gaz when he tried to run.
"Glad you came?"
Ghost rolls his eyes, unable to hide to amusement as Gaz begs Alejandro for mercy while Roach chooses to just scream. Laswell, Price, and Nik just watch not even slightly concerned for the sergeants.
Ghost huffs out a laugh, "Yea..."
Soap scoots closer to Ghost, their arms flushed together. Ghost reaches over to grab some of Soap's popcorn, Soap moving the bowl closer to him.
"So, what movie are we watching?"
Ghost hums while thinking, chewing a mouth full of popcorn.
"How about Die Hard?"
Soap grins, "Sounds good to me."
