i am all for alternative operating systems but can the Just Install Linux people please realise that many people need to use specific software for their actual jobs/careers which is not compatible with linux and it is not lack of awareness of the existence of linux that is at the root of their windows usage
#when it is fully compatible with the proprietary software i have to use for work#then we're talking#but unless i can run the full office suite + adobe reader etc + my video editor and so on and so forth#then i cannot use it#no libre office is not a viable alternative. no this other pdf reader isn't either#TRUST ME I TRIED COS I HATE ADOBE READER SO MUCH#unfortunately!!! for the things i have to do!!! i am stuck with it

good news. i think i'm starting to figure out how to gif.
bad news - photoshop doesn't like me and doesn't want to export said gif.
#its 2019 version. theres an update available but apparently my computer/computer software is too old#and yes ik adobe has AI but my uni is still letting me freeload off them for now#and ill eventually look into another programs that are Mac/Apple compatible#but the problem is that the 'export for web' thing that all users say you gotta use to actually keep the animation is coming up funky#and i think its an old software error thing#paulas thoughts#also i tried just doing export --> save as gif or whatever instead of web legacy and that also did not work.#I JUST WANNA MAKE SURE EYS AND RUBY'S OTHER WORKS ARE GETTING TURNED INTO GIFS FOR US ALL TO ADMIRE TOO :(((((((

#Robin processes emotions on main#so for my honors project I HAVE to print out copies of my poetry chapbook. and I HAVE to do it with the Official Campus Print System.#and the Official Campus Print System only prints things that are made using PROPRIETARY DESIGN SOFTWARE#that not ONLY would I have to pay multiple tens of dollars a month for#it isn't even compatible with my computer apparently.#WHAT IF I JUST DROPPED OUT OF THE HONORS PROGRAM RIGHT NOW. WHAT THEN. WHAT WOULD THEY DO ABOUT IT#SIIIIIIIIGH#I hate not knowing what I'm doing!!!#I don't usually get angry at anything but this is making me angry because it's so POINTLESS#just let me print my stupid poetry book in PEACE 😭 I'd even bind it myself if I had to!!!#I would actually be seriously considering dropping out of honors right now except for 3 things#1) I do want to finish writing this chapbook. I do want to physically produce it (though I'm frustrated with the requirements for that).#2) I'm working with my favorite professor on this project and I don't want to give up that experience#and 3) if I lost these 2 credits it would mean I'd have to take a whole nother semester of a summer class. and pay for it. yikes.

the u-bahn pranked me rn. the screens and announcements on the train are completely out of sync with where the train actually is and say stations that are like 10kms away.
orr maybe the tunnels fell through a dimensional rift and are confused by being in multiple locations at ones
whatever, as long as i get where i want to go

new Tablet Saga discovery: people use a tiny gamepad controller for android devices as a keydial for art software shortcuts. epic win i think this is what i need in terms of having side buttons but not a wholeass overwhelming keyboard!
#shame that xp-pens own keydial does not work with the mdp#but at least this apparently works! found it on the xp-pen subreddit#now to solve the problem of software.#krita is free and has nice features but has compatibility issues with the mdp#csp is powerful but i would rather die than a subscription#ibispaint then? is it enough for me?

i bought a cheap laptop to replace my good ol' latitude e4300 and at first.. at first i thought i'd make a grave mistake, for you see, in my post-laptop death fugue state of looking for a replacement i was not as thorough in my researching as i should have been......
you see, i ordered a laptop that had win7 as its OS
which is great, it was a real fun blast from the past (sort of, i skipped win7) BUT....
win7 isn't compatible with scrivener. or onedrive. there's workarounds for onedrive but scrivener is necessary...........
anyway allegedly ms stopped letting ppl upgrade for free a couple yrs ago but i managed to weasel my way into an upgrade to win10 anyway and now after a couple of days of fighting for updates to finish and then figuring out why onedrive refused to actually open.........
success.... i can get back on my groove again

My game might be toast (again). I made it through all 3 base game hoods, and I have posts queued past Christmas. Hopefully I'll be in a position to switch to Linux before my queue runs out

i think theres still some notes that are off pitch or off timed BUT im making a lot of headway on this wip ...... and lemme tell you how happy i was when i realized that basically all the harmonies are just the same melody and octave down or up <3
#vocal synth wip#THIS time with AI rikka instead of standard lite because im back with a higher powered computer again#also i roughly mixed it this time instead of directly exporting from synthv LOL reverb time.... reverb time......#i am fighting for my life because im finding my vocal synth midi making technique is like. maximum compatibility because i like using#all kinds of different software SO im like trying not to detune notes unless absolutely needed LOL so thats where some of my odd notebendin#is coming from. so i can import it into vv humming or some shit later without having to redraw a million pitches <3 <3#i also make every phoneme its own note for that reason - just in case i need to utaformatix that shit#edit: WAIT I WAS SUPPOSED TO FINISH THE GROWING WINGS COVER#i opened synthv and like. immediately blacked out and started working on a different file LOL

Hope it’s okay to ask but what brush did you use in the gaz is taller post for ur line art it has such a fun texture!
no prob, i don't mind! I use this pen in clip studio. i also like to set the anti-aliasing to the strongest level for extra crunch
#if you use procreate or another software#csp can only export brushes as a .sut file unfortunately. at least in procreate's case they explicitly said they arent pursuing#csp cross compatibility. but then they revoked that status? so it's a maybe#anon ask
