i kinda wish i had a reading list to plug for non-pathological multiplicity and the variance of human identity and sense of self...
#i can only handwave people in certain directions i recall off the top of my head... sniff#it's something ive slowly absorbed over a number of years from a number of areas and disciplines so i don't think i read any Defining Texts#though maybe my friends have some... i know i know some culture and identity nerds...#paws the carpet...#kostik speaks#its just such an enourmous concept that so many people and disciplines have had different takes on#people love studying humans man ! our psychology our culture our behaviour our art our everything#multiplicity subjectivity variance is in everything i fear. and it is beautiful#its also obviously everpresent in DID literature because its very interesting how identity works in people who are chronically estranged#how we conceptualise/visualise our own alters and collective selves is Very Interesting to me#and i feel very strongly about the fact that a person can be made of multiple identities even in the DID sense#sometimes a person is made of a 6yo girl and a 30yo man and a 22 yo woman and The Entities. and thats real#thats how that person conceptualises their position in the world and how they operate. idk i see it like being multigendered. maybe im nuts#hashtag destigmatise multiplicity. hashtag conceptualise yourself and express yourself however makes you happy#hashtag never let anyone tell you theres something abnormal about how you see yourself#hashtag do get help though if youre struggling with how you see yourself. there is always a better way if what you have is causing issues#hashtag NOBODY IS INTRINICALLY FUCKED OR IRRIDEEMABLE OR PERMANENTLY SPLIT TO PIECES#hashtag YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE AND DEVELOP AND BE THE BEST COMFORTABLE SELF HOWEVER YOU WANT TO BE#hashtag i love you all mmmwa
