i'll be real, sometimes when i'm writing my own stories and i'm trying to be poetic with my fifteenth metaphor i have to sit back and be like. actually you're doing too much when what you mean to say is "i love you." like sure, maybe the fruit rots on the vine without hands to cradle it or a mouth to press itself against, or maybe the heart is a house, half-lit, with your ghost in all the windows, but all i mean by that is i love you, i love you. what's more poetic than that

😈 DIADOP WEEK ☎️ day 5 prompt - celebration gift.
HAPPY UNOFFICIAL BIRTHDAY 🥳 something simple and continuing to mess around with brushes/overlays ….. I feel like they aren’t one to celebrate the birthday, at least not overly much. Little material gifts usually the go-to. Doppio likes to gift jewellery, and the ring seen here made personally for Diavolo of gold and ruby, engraved inside ‘forever yours’. While Diavolo will gift things Doppio has had an eye on or mentioned during a call ; likewise jewellery, a particular expensive piece of clothing, and one year…a beautifully crafted stiletto switchblade engraved with ‘my dear Doppio’. With having a bit of a sweet tooth, especially Doppio, they aren’t against indulging in a little cake too…

im realizing that my writing style changes drastically when I write Alex pov vs Logan pov. like rn I'm writing Logan's pov of my most recent fic, and like... his pov is almost twice as long??
I guess I get really wordy when I'm writing from Logan's perspective😭😭

all pokemon games are good but they are not all equally as good

#pokemon#as a person who has played pretty much every main pkmn game in some capacity#i can find things in them that are worth praise#but like obviously they can't all be the same level of good. there are so many factors to a pkmn game to be balanced#some have a great region. some have a great story. some have just a solid gameplay experience. all of them have great music lol#i could even play devil's advocate and praise bdsp for being a truly faithful remake and pretty incredible for a studio first Real game#but mainly i keep thinking like. everyone has shat on the new pkmn games ever since gen 5 especially#but then over time people are like Huh they aren't so bad after all#like once you get out of the gamehate wormhole generated by inflammatory social media posting you can appreciate a thing more#and there may still be people out there who think red/blue are the best ones. and y'know they have a point#even though objectively those games were littered with bugs to the point where some normal mechanics were not correct#and things just got more complicated and sophisticated with abilities and new types and better moves and stuff#the original games are absolute Miracles to have been made at all and for what they're worth they were Revolutionary#it was a simpler time but the ideas put forth were still pretty complex. especially considering this was the First One#this is the foundation all pokemon games thereafter rose from. and it's a pretty solid foundation despite all the hardships#anyway. i love pokemon. and i love that even after all this time - over 25 years - its spirit from back in 96 still remains in some form#it may not be about catching em all anymore. because physically that's really hard to do with over 1000 guys now#but it's still about finding joy in following a dream of adventure with a bunch of cool animal friends#and sometimes you save the world a little bit. that's p cool

tbh i think the addition of sanji's second apollo justice-esque backstory was entirely unnecessary bc i don't think he really needed More Context as a character but i will always appreciate the level of depth it adds to him
#like i think his first backstory hit all the necessary points in explaining who he is why he's like this and why he so strongly upholds this#code of his#i think he could have worked just fine as a character even if we weren't given all this extra info about his family and childhood#it's ok to just have a character who went through A Trauma and is a kind and giving person because of it you dont always need to#give someone A Second Thing yknow#sometimes simpler is better imo but again i do appreciate the depth like i like that he got that attention from a writing standpoint at lea#op rewatch

i honestly, genuinely think this most recent update was the best decision that mojang’s made in recent years
seriously, this is probably one of the least controversial updates they’ve made in half a decade
#the only thing i’ve seen that’s been negative to any extent is about how the happy ghast looks when you saddle it#which yeah the steam punk look is honestly out of place#but i do kind of like how it seems the world of minecraft is technologically advancing over the years#i wonder if they’re going to move further in this direction too#which while i like the idea of it#i’m not sure how i’ll actually feel about them doing an industrial revolution in minecraft#but outside of that#this really shows that sometimes simple is better!#we don’t always need a brand new biome or new world generation! just expanding on something that’s been in the game for years#or modifying a crafting recipe#or honestly just doing what players have been suggesting for years works better!#i think we all need some simpler updates after these huge ones this past half decade tbh#like i genuinely heard nothing about last year’s update with this new forest biome and weeping angle until well after it came out#angel*

..I wish I knew how artists are like. Able to do simplistic doodles of their chars that still somehow look nice bc anytime i try something simplistic its like my mind goes "fuck no tf are you doing" & I just. cannot.
