I just came up with a fun theory for Sonic Boom.

I've been playing Fire and Ice on my 3DS, and I reached this area called Gothic Gardens. Now, Shadow isn't in this particular game (at least, not so far), and I've never heard anything about the Black Arms in the Boom universe, or whether Shadow's origin story is the same in Boom as in canon.

But check this out:

I grabbed this screenshot off the wiki. The wiki page only mentions this in passing, but you can clearly see the Black Arms logo.

I'm not finding anything else in the wiki or on Google about Black Arms in Boom, but maybe I'm just not using the right search terms.

So for the moment, I'm going with the assumption that the Black Arms are canon to the Boom-iverse. I'm guessing, then, that Shadow is still partly Black Arms, whether or not he was made in a lab (since there's been no mention of Gerald, yet, but Eggman has mentioned his father, who was apparently also named Eggman).

But, anyway, here's my theory:

The Black Arms symbol in canon is usually either black or red against either a black or white background. But on these banners, it's gold against a red background. Further, this zone appears to have been built by either humans or Mobians, not the Black Arms, as Gothic Gardens are built of stone and have stone castles, whereas the Black Arms grow everything out of living, organic tissue. Most of Gothic Gardens is gold, red, and green, with some gray stone, as opposed to Black Arms buildings and objects, which are black, red, and sometimes purplish.

My theory, then, is that there was a medieval culture that met the Black Arms and devoted themselves to worship and servitude of the alien race, going so far as to include the Black Arms logo on human/Mobian (Earthling?) decorations.

I'm still not far enough into all the Boom media to know if there's any evidence to contradict this, but this is my working theory until I learn otherwise.

*Footnote: Come to think of it... those thorns that appear all over the place are also red and purple and kinda gross-looking... could it be...???

I finally came across the Sonic Origins Wikis & there's just... so much content here of concepts & actual reference sheets- even original sketches for the levels it looks like?

These are totally wicked & for any newer fans or artists only now looking (like me & Sore) ya'll have gotta /nf check them out.

for copyright reasons I don't wanna send too many but here's a couple ss of some I saved for our friend group to use as references & inspiration:

I've followed Sonic for years & always wanted to get into it properly outside of the rare Underground binge as a kid, & thanks to my husband it's finally a special interest of mine as well

Whether you're new, a follower just now properly getting into it like me, or a long-time fan who hasn't seen these yet I hope they're helpful or at the very least fun & interesting to check out.

Ok now this is a common question

Who's taller espio or silver

Espio is! Sonic Channel indicates he is officially 110 centimeters, whereas Silver is 100. Espio also weighs one (1) kilogram more than Silver does, fun fact.

And indeed, you can see this (the height, not the weight lol) in their models, too! I once grabbed the OG Generations and the Forces models of the characters to play around with in Blender, and it (I believe these specifically are the Gens models but I did this a long time ago) gave me this:

If you overlay them, you can see very clearly how Espio's muzzle and eyes are placed higher than Silver's. Also, his hands are a bit bigger and longer. I myself did not change the models, and I presume that someone who rips all the models of a single game makes sure they are comparatively the same "size" when opened in a program like Blender, if that makes sense. BUT, and this is a very important fun fact, Silver's topmost quill is juuuuuuuuuuuuust a bit taller than Espio's crest. So in a way, you could argue that is what makes Silver taller than Espio, haha!
