About Lea and her apprentices

----- LIES OF P OVERTURE SPOILERS -----
I remember when the first impressions of the DLC came out (alongside the early spoilers), I saw a few comments saying that Lea only cared about Romeo as her apprentice and that basically that she didn’t actually care about Carlo.
And I’m ngl, as I played through Overture, I was dying inside because she barely mentioned Carlo at all. But after the ending, oh, that painful ending, I saw just how deeply she loved him.
And I just wanted to yap about that.
Just hearing Lea’s recollection from her room in the Eventide Hotel was enough for me to understand the depth of her love for him.
She talks about how much she appreciated the company of both of them; the happy moments they shared together. But I’m sure that after she broke ties with the Monad family, everything became pitch black for her.
She left them, thinking that by doing so, they’d be safe from the abyss she herself had fallen into… only to find Carlo dead soon after.
From everything Neowiz gave us, the letters, the voice lines, the recollections, the Record , it’s clear just how much she loved them both.
I can only imagine the devastation she felt when she found Carlo’s lifeless, pale body. The guilt. The anger. The grief.
Her depression after leaving the Monad family was so strong that she pushed away the people who had become her found family. But losing Carlo was a different kind of pain. So unbearable and crushing that she could no longer isolate herself. She had to come back. She had to protect Romeo from suffering the same fate as her youngest apprentice.
These were her children. Her feisty, hyperactive, kind, and silly children. Because that’s what they were to her, just as she once was to Valentinus.
“The feelings inside me as I watch my apprentices grow make me wonder if you felt the same way gazing at me.”
I don’t know if she saw herself as their mother, but she took them in. Trained them. Fed them. Gave them a roof over their heads. And the three of them shared so many wonderful moments, not just as stalkers or teacher and students, but as friends. As family.
She watched them grow. She felt happiness and pride at their progress. They were both so, so dear to her.
And if I may theorize a little, maybe Carlo accepted the Alchemists’ invitation to the Devil’s Pit in hopes of helping Lea. Maybe he wanted to find out what was really going on between the Alchemists and Valentinus.
If Lea was so depressed that she distanced herself from both her families, then something bad must’ve been happening. And Carlo, with his likely abandonment issues, wouldn’t have stood by and done nothing.
He wasn’t going to lose anyone else.
And that determination led him straight to his death.
So now Lea was afraid. Terrified. She was struck with the realization that she hadn’t made the most of her time with Carlo. And if she wasn’t careful, she was going to lose Romeo too.
She couldn’t let that happen again.
That’s why she was so overprotective of her last remaining apprentice. Her need to find and save Romeo almost felt like an obsession, but how can we blame her, after losing Carlo like that?
After losing him in such a terrible, cruel way?
And of course she mourned him, and continued to do so. She said every time she played Survivor, she thought of him.
It must have been painful just to look at the picture of the three of them. Or the painting. But she had to keep going. Because Romeo was still alive. He needed her, now more than ever, because he too had lost Carlo and was devastated.
Carlo couldn’t be saved anymore. But Romeo could. And if there was anything Lea could do to avoid having her heart broken like that again, she would do it, even if it meant giving her life away.
Besides, I think she was more at peace because she knew she was dying. She’d be able to see Carlo soon. So it’s not that she didn’t miss him, or only cared about Romeo, but things were already in motion. Romeo could still live, and she would soon be reunited with Carlo and make up for the time she couldn’t be by his side.
They really were a family. And it hurts so much that the three of them ended the way they did. But if anything, P was able to give them closure in his own way. Because in the end, they all got to meet one last time under the dawn. 🥺

First: this was our first confirmation that Mrs. Holiday's name is Carol.
2nd: Toriel refuses to call her by name. Interesting, since I doubt Toriel knows the full extent of what's going on. But she does say more in a minute.
3rd: Rudy doesn't appear happy with Toriel's attitude towards Carol. I hafta commend Rudy's protectiveness and care for his wife, despite... the kind of person she is.
4th: Carol is actually supporting Asgore. Not fully supporting him, of course, as he's still supposed to be paying her rent (and isn't). But Carol apparently helped him set up his flower shop after removing him from the police force.
Question is, why? Why did she fire Asgore in the first place? It would seem that the divorce and Asgore's firing didn't have anything to do with Dess' disappearance. Tenna showed us the scene of the family members leaving, and Carol and Asgore both left before Dess. I kinda doubt Tenna got them out of order, since everyone leaving him was the reason he spirally downward into depression.***
5th, and very interesting: Toriel still cares about Asgore on some level. Not romantically. Not even platonically. But she doesn't want him to suffer. Just to leave her alone, live his life and let her live hers.
His... WHAT? WHAT is he doing? WHAT is he so obsessed with? What is his connection to Carol? Does it have to do with the flowers in the bell jars?
This is why I keep asking: Is Asgore doing some kind of weird, creepy SOUL research? Possibly using flowers? Because Carol is very, very interested in [[Heart-Shaped Objects]] and she is definitely connected to the Knight.
And we still don't know who cut Gaster off during the Goner Maker, who discarded the vessel, or who shoved us into Kris' body. But whoever it was has to be connected with this creepy SOUL/Knight yakuza ring.
***EDIT: I swear to you, I had one playthru where- I thought, anyway- it looked like Carol and Asgore disappeared before Dess, and I was basing this on that. But every other playthru, they disappeared in the order you'd expect. And since it's a cutscene, I doubt it was a glitch or anything, so I must have been extremely mistaken. So don't pay any attention to that part.

Oh my god.... OH MY GOD!!!!
Gangle... GANGLE MY BELOVED!!!
I wanted to hug her so badly 🥺😭🩷❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I mean... Look at her sad face...
I can't believe the devs made her look so relatable to us... I believe that back then then when she was a human, she most likely went to art school cause she wanted to become an artist who makes comics and stuff and pursue her dreams in the want she wants to!
But.. OF COURSE!! since the DAMN society never encourages artists to make a living of their career, Gangle had no choice but to end up working in a fast food restaurant.. (mostly likely McDonald's) and accepts her harsh reality as "you need to remember that they're completely unrealistic and you need to stop trying" (gosh... This line freaking hurts me...)

And Gangle, tried to be optimistic, but with the way the characters have treated Gangle at the restaurant (EVEN RAGATHA WAS UNHINGED LIKE BRUH) I am assuming that the co-workers were also bullying/not taking her seriously irl which made her feel hopeless and believing that no matter how hard she tried... She would always be.... A failure........
The more I learned about her, the more I loved her deeply more than anything else and I want to hug her tightly and give her multiple kisses in her cheeks

When gender or sex is made a binary, in any instance, whether it is male/female , man/woman, amab/afab, transmasc/transfem, whatever, it will always end up as a dichotomy. The separation into society into to factors will always result in bipartisanship: there is a a good, so there must be a bad. There is a black dark, so there must be a white light. There is a woman so there must be a man. There is a better so there must be a worse.
Whilst erasing the existence of morally grey, the light between shadows, the infinity of genders and sexual variations and the fact that there is nuance and equality, it closes people's minds to assume that there is automatically a rivalry between the two factions. There is the automatic assumption of an impossibility of understanding, of the impossibility of marrying the two "opposite" factions. Anyone who shows it's possible must go. There will always be discourse and violence and threats and sexism because there will always be a binary that subconsciously encourages people to think this way. Traits stop being universal and start being one or the other, where it can be classed as "better" or "worse" despite the fact they are equal on all humans.
As long as there is a binary, there will be gender wars, infighting, discourse, oppression. There will be a dichotomy. There will be exorsexism and intersexism. There will not be liberation of we are not all liberated from the binary that divides the world.

Was anyone gonna tell me that Mydei owns a Dromas named Kokopo??
Oh, sorry, I mean "The Fierce Beast of Kremnos: Kokopo III"
And said Dromas misses him???
This is so sweet help
That aside, the quest does a nice job of portraying the struggle of the Kremnoans after Mydei left. Stuck between wanting to go home because of their traditions of fighting and being warriors and heeding Mydei's wishes for them to live a peaceful life.
Amusing how they leave the final choice of "returning to Kremnos or staying in Okhema as Mydei wanted" up to Kokopo.
That was actually a really nice and small quest <3

People laugh that Zeus did a powerpoint presentation to his children and wife before the God Games... but what if it's much sadder? After all, none of them knew Odysseus. So what if Zeus forced them to say exactly what he said? That's why personal arguments would work so well. Imagine the guilt of those gods when the game ended, they were puppets and because of that Athena suffered just before their eyes.

The Deal With Lindel's Reindeer

One of the reindeer here is obviously different - it is huge and pure white, obviously, and more importantly it doesn't seem to pull Lindel's sleigh at all, leading the way and coating the path in ice instead. In fact, it would have been simpler to have that reindeer pull the sleigh and cover the ground in ice at the same time, but Lindel doesn't do that.
Later on, he even asks the reindeer to 'say hello' to Chise, which it seems to understand.

All in all, Lindel doesn't treat this specific reindeer as a normal animal (which it isn't, obviously. Reindeer don't normally use ice magic.)
Also, reindeer, especially white reindeer are very spiritually significant to the Sámi.
My theory is that the reindeer is a gazzi

Here, Lindel specifically introduces himself as a shaman. In Sámi culture, shamans are called Noaidi.
All Noaidi had helping spirits or “gáccit/gazzi/gadze”, which varied depending on the realm in which the Noaidi was traveling. Gáccit usually manifested to the Sámi Noaidi in the form of an animal. Biret Maret Kallio, a spiritually guided Sámi woman, describes her experience with prominent Sámi views on gáccit: “Written tradition talks of three kinds of gazzi: One, usually a bird, accompanies the noaidi on journeys to the upper world; the second, usually a four-legged wild animal, accompanies the noaidi on journeys in this world, also called the middle world; the third, a fish, a snake, a lizard, or some other animal that can live underwater or underground, accompanies the noaidi in the lower world” (Kallio 1997).
It also seems like the gazzi is a companion to the person from birth to death, which also checks out since Lindel is shown to be accompanied by a white reindeer even as a child (though of course there is literally no confirmation that it is the same reindeer. The horns do look a bit different.)

Another source also said that the strongest shamans have reindeer bulls as their gazzi, which is very cool. (Though again, of course we don't know if it is a bull.)
I think it isn't unreasonable to think of it as a spirit companion to Lindel, which also adds a layer of complexity to Lindel being unable to leave his reindeer behind even after turning his back on everything else.

SPM Theory: Merloo and the Fourth Pure Heart
«The Ancients traveled to many worlds to entrust people with Pure Hearts. It was to keep them safe from destruction or misuse by those with evil hearts. The Pure Hearts were drawn by their own power toward those strong with love. The Ancients used this trait to find suitable guardians in each world. And a few romances also began as a result of these little journeys… Many of the Ancients who found guardians fell in love with those they met. And so they lived their days happily in the world they'd visited out of duty. This is how the legend of the hero was passed down to future generations…»
This is one of Garson's stories from Super Paper Mario. In it, it's explained that the Ancients decided to entrust the Pure Hearts to well-meaning people in different worlds for safekeeping until the hero arrived.
However, although there's a great emphasis in the guardians here, there is one Pure Heart whose guardian we know nothing about...
Let's start with a little recap. During SPM's events, Mario and company find the Pure Hearts in the following places:
❤️ The First Pure Heart is given to Mario by Merlon in Flipside.
🧡 The Second Pure Heart is given to Mario by Merlumina in Yold Ruins, with Fracktail also serving as a guardian to it.
💛 The Third Pure Heart is obtained from Merlee and it was hidden within her Mansion.
💚 The Fourth Pure Heart is found within Fort Francis, with Tippi's happiness releasing it from its hiding place.
🩵 The Fifth Pure Heart is handed over by Squirps, prince of the lost kingdom of Squirpia.
💙 The Sixth Pure Heart is obtained from the Floro Sapiens, who explain that King Croacus IV was its current owner.
💜 The Seventh Pure Heart is kept at Sammer’s Kingdom, with the current King Sammer being its guardian and, thus, the one who has to give it to the heroes (or rather, the one who should have given it to the heroes).
🤍 The Eighth Pure Heart, lastly, was entrusted to Jaydes and Grambi, rulers of The Underwhere and The Overthere respectively, who transformed it into their daughter, Luvbi. In the end, Luvbi herself decided to go with the heroes, reverting back to her original form and accepting her fate as the final Heart.
Notice something strange? There was exactly one Pure Heart that wasn’t given to the heroes by anyone. That's right; it's the fourth one, the green Pure Heart...
All the other Pure Hearts were being guarded by at least one person (although in Croacus' case, he wasn't exactly "guarding" it). Yet the green Pure Heart was just found inside a fortress/castle.
Here's what Merlon says about it when you return to Flipside after completing Chapter 3:
«I think that castle was once a dwelling of the Ancients I told you of earlier. It seems that my ancestors have roamed far and wide in their dimensional travels. “In the castle beyond the great sea, we hid a Pure Heart and sealed it safely…” Yes, I remember reading such a passage in the Light Prognosticus. The seal could only have been broken by a powerful pulse of love and trust…»
Isn't it strange that the Ancients just seemingly hid a Pure Heart within a random castle they found and assigned no sort of protection to it except for a seal?
In Garson's story, it's stated that the Pure Hearts were entrusted to "suitable guardians", and so it'd be more believable to think that there used to be a guardian for the green Pure Heart as well.
And I believe this Pure Heart's guardian (or, at least, its original guardian) was none other than Merloo.
Now, if you're part of SPM's fandom you'll probably already know that Merloo has been the subject of much theorizing; he's a quite mysterious figure described as "a great magician who could control dimensions" and, allegedlly, the writer of the Light Prognosticus too (although Merlumina is also stated to be its writer).
Nothing more is known about Merloo himself... And there aren't any Ancient-related characters who look like him in-game, unlike with the other three sages we hear about in SPM...
But why Merloo as the green Pure Heart's guardian? Well, that's because I think the other three sages were also entrusted with a Pure Heart each...
My evidence? The fact that another of Garson's stories sheds light on Merlumina's sister, who was tasked with finding one of these suitable guardians. She fell in love with said guardian, the King Sammer of that time, ultimately marrying him and having 100 kids together; this means that the King Sammer we meet in SPM (who is the purple Pure Heart's current guardian) is a descendant of them.
All of this aligns with the Garson story I cited at the beginning of this post. But, considering Garson spoke in plural ("Many of the Ancients who found guardians fell in love with those they met"), this means Merlumina's sister wasn't the only case of an "ancient x guardian" couple happening...
Let's take a look at the other Ancients we know of:
Merlight is stated to be a "distant ancestor" of Merlon, who at the time of SPM is in possession of the red Pure Heart.
Merlumina is an ancestor of Old Man Watchitt, and her spirit can be found in the same dimension/world as him, guarding the orange Pure Heart.
Merlimbis is a "direct ancestor" of both Merluvlee and Merlee; the current yellow Pure Heart's owner is Merlee.
Isn't it fair for us to assume that they were also tasked with finding guardians, fell in love with them, and decided to stay in the worlds they'd visited out of duty, as Garson's story says? Well, in Merlight's case, he designed Flipside/Flopside, so he had no other option than to remain there to ensure the city's correct functioning, I suppose... But I'm getting off-track.
Returning to the matter at hand: once again we can see that Merloo's name hasn't been brought up... He's the only sage whose descendants are completely unknown to the player.
If we follow my reasoning, we have Merlight, Merlumina and Merlimbis guarding the red, orange and yellow Pure Hearts alongside their spouses, respectively. Or rather, their descendants (except for Merlumina's case; I have an idea on why this could be, but that's for another day...).
The thing is that the red, orange and yellow Pure Hearts are the first three Pure Hearts encountered in-game. So, it wouldn't be irrational to assume that Merloo was also entrusted with the next Pure Heart after those. Which, no surprise, is the green Pure Heart.
So, to recap, Merloo went to The Bitlands, found a suitable guardian, and fell in love with them (just like the rest of the sages), staying in The Bitlands for the rest of his life and eventually passing on the responsibility of protectiing the green Pure Heart to his children, who in turn passed it on to their own children, and so on...
But what happened to their castle, then? Why is it now Fort Francis?
Honestly, I have no idea for why this the way it is.
Perhaps they were forced to flee due to unknown circumstances, with no other option than to leave the Pure Heart behind? Perhaps they all died due to some illness or attack, only managing to put an emergency seal on the Pure Heart before passing away?
I'm afraid, the answer shall remain a mystery forevermore...
However, I would like to say that there are some indications that hint at the possibility of a descendant of Merloo's being encountered in-game by the heroes...
Dimentio is quite the enigmatic character, isn't he?
He's a magician with great dimensional powers, just like Merloo, even being able to create his own pocket dimension!
Not only that, but he seemed to know quite a lot about the Pure Hearts and the Dark Prognosticus' final prophecy even before meeting Count Bleck...
On top of that, the only time Dimentio is fought against in SPM outside of Castle Bleck is, precisely, in The Bitlands...
Moreover, Dimentio seems to be aware of where the entrance to Merlumina's chamber (where the orange Pure Heart is hidden) is exactly located, and he has no trouble messing with Fracktail's mind!
Furthermore, how did Dimentio go to Flipside? How was he aware of its existence? And how was he able to send the heroes to The Underwhere and The Overthere? Also, all these places hid a Pure Heart as well...
Lastly, Dimentio knew that Jaydes' power could restore a damaged Pure Heart...
It's as if he had been taught all of these facts by someone, don't you think?
This is all suspicious...
...Quite suspicious, indeed...

Sanemi uses violence to convey messages.
It's almost like the people he can't bring himself to be vulnerable with, he resorts to ^^this.
Oh, Idk how to talk to you so I'll grab you in the middle of a hashira meeting, spar with you, then try to beat you to a bloody pulp.
You know Sanemi and Iguro both dislike Giyu, but Sanemi is the ONLY one who takes Giyus 'high and mighty' personality SO personally. Iguro don't give a fuck.
And also, Sanemi sought Giyu out to spar. It seems like he arrived at his estate, and probably HARASSED giyu enough to fight. Lol. Sounds like you really hate him, Sanemi 😏
Little brother? Psht. Let me try to blind you to make you hate me so you'll stay away from the demon slayer corp.

I love Hyuluka but it's funny-
Sua fell in love with Mizi probably because she was the first to approach her and she was a bright person.

Ivan fell in love with Till because he was the first person he saw actively fight in a hopeless situations.
These are all loves born put of a surface level understanding of a person and creating an ideal out of it (Though they fall genuinely in love later on)
Which is why it's so fascinating that Luka broke this pattern by falling in love with Hyuna and not Hyunwoo.
Hyunwoo was the one to approach Luka first. He actively made attempts to reach put to Luka, and encourage Hyuna to do the same. So by all means, Luka should have probably fallen for Hyunwoo.

But he didn't. He fell in love with Hyuna, and it's so fucking funny.
Because this makes Luka's love for Hyuna genuine from the start. He loved her because of her.
You could argue that Luka fell in love with how freeing Hyuna seemed to find singing. But I truly believe Luka fell in love long before that.
Genuinely, Hyunwoo is such a fascinatimg attribute to Hyuluka's relationship. Because he was Hyuna's jewel and he was a friend in Luka's eyes. Which culminates in his death kinda just fucking up everything for Hyuna and Luka.

Orphans in Krat and the PD

----- LIES OF P - SPOILERS -----
Maybe I’m just touching on a topic that might seem obvious, but I don’t think I made the connection right away during my first runs of Lies of P.
It wasn’t until the DLC, and seeing the full extent of what the Alchemists were doing, that I started to connect the dots between the high number of orphans in Krat and the outbreak of the Petrification Disease.
From the context Gemini gives us about the Malum District, we know that Krat began as a relatively poor fishing city.
Of course, there were the old, wealthy families, but the majority of people were just trying to survive day by day.
I’m sure orphans existed back then too, but I imagine most children were involved in their families' businesses, fishing, gathering resources, and so on, rather than being completely without family.
But once the Alchemists came, discovered Ergo, and decided to exploit it, that’s when things took a dark turn.
They needed workers for the Kroud mines to extract Ergo, so while they technically "created jobs," it came at the cost of people exposing the workers to Petrification Disease.
Eventually, with the development of puppets, the miners were partially replaced by puppet labor. But as the “spider cave puppet” incident shows us, human miners were still working alongside the puppets.
From Sophia’s dialogue, we know the Alchemists were the ones who spread the Petrification Disease, and the infected mine workers were likely just the beginning.
The Alchemists saw this happening and still used it to their advantage. They got all the experimental subjects they wanted. And because people needed work, and didn’t understand the source of the disease, they kept working in those deadly environments.
I think this is when Krat saw its first wave of mass orphanhood.
Heck, maybe that’s even why the Monad Charity House was founded in the first place.
I know this might be a stretch, we don’t know much about Isabelle’s past, whether she came from wealth (with Valentinus taking her surname), or if she was just another citizen of Krat whom Valentinus got close to in order to study Ergo (since she’s a Listener), and then later genuinely fell in love with her, ultimately trying to protect her from the horrors the Alchemists had planned for the citizens and for Listeners.
But if the Monad Charity House was founded during their generation, it could easily be a direct consequence of what Valentinus (knowingly or not) was helping to unleash.
And even if it wasn’t, even if the Rose Estate had always served as a charity house, I feel confident that Valentinus funded it significantly.
Isabelle likely didn’t know the full extent of what was going on. She probably just saw the pain, the parentless children, and wanted to help. Meanwhile, Valentinus may have supported her efforts, both out of love and as a way of atoning for his own involvement. Their parents had succumbed to the PD, but perhaps the children didn’t have to.
Unfortunately, things only got worse.
The victims were no longer just mine workers. The Alchemists studied the disease and twisted it into what they saw as their path to “evolution.” And once they made that decision, there was no turning back.
They started spreading the disease on purpose to the rest of the population, just to get more test subjects. They reaped all the benefits for themselves, and in doing so, created more and more orphans… possibly the second most notable thing Krat is known for, after its puppet technology.
So, I just wanted to say, in my eyes, the reason Krat had so many broken families and so many vulnerable children is, once again, all thanks to the horrors caused by the Alchemists. Screw those guys.

Tenna really did offer something for the whole family.
For Asgore.
ngl, I kinda want those curtains, and I don't even like cowboy motifs.
Um, no thx.
Seems Azzy was a little bit sassy?
Susie's right, that is kinda gross. No wonder Toriel cleaned it out before sans showed up.
Kris.
RALSEI PLUSHEE IS CANON!!!
And since I can't think of a reason why Tenna would be offering a Ralsei plushie to any of the Dreemurrs, I wonder if it's meant as a prize for the [[heart-shaped object]].

More Fukuzawa and Chuuya parallels; Bodyguards for the genius character that end up being partners and are still a team to this day
I didn't add Fukuzawa and Mori as they don't really team up in present day, but Fukuzawa had to babysit that genius too

Why I think these two are related
(Click read more to see the theory because this is long)
One way I think they could be related is their similarities both physically and in how they behave
IE: very similar hair and skin color(and possibly eye color), both appearing rather skinny, similar fashion tastes, obsessing over one thing, manipulating people, acting in violence, and possibly anger issues
They also both are quiet and have trouble connecting with people and making friends, and though that doesn't necessarily mean two people are related, I just thought it was worth pointing out
I think they could either be cousins or siblings, long lost or otherwise. Cousins would be an easy answer, but they could very well be siblings!
Hypothetically, their parents could've gotten divorced shortly before or after whichever one is younger - which I'm gonna say is Vincent - was born and each took a kid with them, Bok-su ending up in Korea and Vincent in France
Perhaps their mother stayed in France while pregnant with Vince and their father left for Korea(possibly his home country) with Bok-su
As for them being cousins, it's very simple, their families just lived in different countries! Either way this means that Vincent possibly has some Korean decent and Bok-su has some French, which is kinda cool!
we can also see here that Vincent (possibly) was at the wedding, alongside (possibly) Rody!

This could mean Vincent knew Da-jeong, most likely from Bok-su, and knew her well enough to be invited! Rody could've possibly been a friend of the groom or some other relative
While Rody isn't at all involved in this theory as a whole, I just thought I'd point this out because this could mean Vincent and Rody had met before the events of dead plate and just didn't remember each other :3
Vincent also could be younger in the photo, so I wanna say this was before he got famous or at least a decent amount of years before dead plate/the bistro
This could possibly be while he was a teenager given how he looks in the photos, and given how Bok-su looks to be about her mid or late twenties, that could easily check out
Before anyone mentions the timeline, I did some research and women were aloud to start going to collage in Korea around 1948!
so with Dead Plate taking place in the 1960s and us having little idea when Married in Red takes place, this could easily mean that the game takes place sometime in the 50s when Vincent was a teenager or young adult as I believe he's in his mid or late twenties by the events of Dead Plate
That's basically the whole theory, let me know what you guys think! :3
