Hello, I'm still alive :)

So... After trying to work on more personal stuff, failing a bit, then taking a BIG interest in fairy tales, I came with e new, more personal webtoon project...

Meet Jacob and Wilhelm, two brothers that could not be more different from one another, yet remain incredibly bonded! One is introverted, socially anxious, a little strange yet hardworking and well-meaning. The other is extroverted, friendly, emotional but suffers from different physical conditions. Together, they are the brothers Grimm. At the beginning fo the story, they work as assistant librarians at Kassel's library right after finishing their studies. But their little monotonous lives take a turn when they find a strange codex in the forgotten archives...

I won't say too much in this post, but expect other uploads on this project in the future! :)

A little disclaimer: of course those versions of Jacob and Wilhelm, while taking a lot of inspirations from their really-life counterparts, are their own characters here and same thing goes to other historical figures who are set to appear in the story (hi Jerôme Bonaparte). I do not claim Jacob could read and translate a forgotten, magical germanic language, or that Wilhelm was a master swordman for example... XD

(Still looking for a title for this... For now I'll just call it Project Grimm)

I just realized. One thing that Optimus will certainly be educated on by the Primes in the Haunted AU is the various was One Can Kill A Quintesson! Leaving some Autobots confused at times when he's teaching them in return because 'This sounds pretty Specific...???'

It's slightly competitive on the Primes' part because yeah, the Deceptions do got the High Guard being good at killing Quintessons too but. They're the Real Experts. (Are they salty? Naaaah they're not. Much. Kinda.)

they got so good at squishing the goddamn bugs and they're thrilled they can save Optimus the pain of figuring out their weak points through trial and error like they did. they're gonna make a pro out of their baby brother in no time.

and if they just so happen to know some of the Decepticons will be majorly pissed off at the fact OP is already on par with the best of what used to be the High Guard when he only has a fraction of their experience... well, happy coincidences, y'know?

and if they happen to teach Optimus how to crack open a Quintesson in just the right way to make some Decepticons see ghosts through him... that's between them and the people they're haunting :)

Ivan is not a good friend to Till

I'm just going to preface, we're setting aside Till's own behavior for now and looking at how Ivan treats Till - or specifically mistreats Till, without any other caveats involved.

This is not hate or anti rhetoric. Do not use my posts to engage in discourse. I'm examining a specific facet of their relationship for a specific reason.

Beating up an already bruised Till

The artbook says Ivan has a strong fist from growing up in the slums, but Till just assumes he's a naturally strong fighter. Ivan can easily suppress Till, even when he's smaller than him.

Instead, he's having the time of his life adding to the bruises already on Till. A segyein teacher comments they keep fighting but concludes that's just how kids are. This means Ivan is repeatedly contributing to Till's bruises.

Later, Ivan grows up to be bigger than Till anyways. Ivan tells Till he wants to stop fighting: Till is smaller than him now so it's too much trouble to avoid injuring him worse than usual. Obviously this pisses Till off.

Patronizes him

Till takes offence to Ivan suggesting he can't take him just because he's smaller now.

When Till receives a fixed restraint that restricts him even further, Ivan tugs on the leash and tells him "I told you so."

Insults him

Ivan also calls him a loser when they're young. This is right after Till defined it as someone who is a friendless moron, and it clearly hurts his feelings.

Lets Till take the fall for him

In the Anakt Garden Kit, a segyein writes Till got into a fight with a new kid named Ivan and that fortunately Ivan has generously forgiven him. This implies Ivan didn't take any blame for his participation in it.

Ivan's behavior leads to Till getting blamed for things he didn't even do.

Steals Till's belongings and lies about having found them

In the Patreon, it's written that:

Ivan would steal Till's belongings just to return them later. He would pretend to be the one who found them, and this irritated Till very much.

He steals Till's pencil which Till needs if he wants to draw or compose. Ivan repeatedly steals the recorder Mizi gave him which Till calls his "one and only treasure."

Taking into account Till's guardian, the condition of his clothing, and his excitement at receiving gifts, we can infer he probably isn't given things often and probably doesn't own much to begin with.

Ivan steals his birthday gifts as well.

Disgusts and scares him

I'm told specifically Till finds the notion unsanitary. There's any number of reasons he could feel this way but Ivan doesn't let it go right away.

Till is already upset and on edge, and then Ivan prods at the exact reason he's distressed. It's also inflicting more pain on him, even if only slightly.

"A deep love-hate attachment"

A friend who is kind to you sometimes and mean to you others is not a good friend. That's obvious, isn't it? The acts of gentleness don't cancel out the acts of violence.

But Till doesn't see him as a friend. He sees him like a family member:

Someone you're stuck with no matter what. Someone who picks on you but has your back in thick and thin. Ivan confuses, irritates, and frustrates Till, but he also soothes and cares for him. He's someone who makes his life difficult, but he's also someone Till can fall back on.

Daniel James Fenton lived a tragic, short life. Orphaned at a young age, adopted by Jack and Maddie Fenton a few years later. Neglected by everyone but his older sister, who was a child herself. Bullied by almost all of his peers, despite interference from caring teachers. Barely surviving a terrible lab accident due to his parents’ negligence, then suffering through bouts of depression and chronic pain in the year following, only to die unremarkably at 15 due to long-lasting effects from the accident. He was mourned by his sister and two best friends, as well as a few community members, but was overall barely a blip on everyone’s radar. His parents—who were already thought to have a few screws loose—went insane after his death, most likely from guilt, and joined a shady government agency that was hunting ghosts and terrorizing innocent civilians. His sister and best friends fled town as quickly as they could, but were said to be doing well for themselves.

At least, that’s what the gossip of Amity Park said.

In reality, Danny Fenton lived a much more tragic, much shorter life.

He was born Danyal, son of immigrant parents who fled to America when he was 3 years old. He didn’t remember his last name, or what and where they were running from. They died in a car crash a few months after arriving in the states, partway through a cross-country drive to California. Danyal remembered talks of California, where it was warm and people would stare at them less.

Danyal also died in that car crash, flung from the vehicle while his parents burned inside it. He remembered bleeding out slowly and listening to their screams. He also remembered the blinding green light, a natural portal to the Infinite Realms that opened under him just as his eyes closed for the last time. And Danyal was never alive again, not fully.

He awoke in the hospital, and for a time he didn’t remember. He maintained that lie, even when his memories came back, because he wished they didn’t.

Danyal was different after that, saw things differently. Sometimes he swore his eyes flashed green, and his fingernails sharpened, but it was gone in an instant.

He was sent to a group home for boys, where English was beaten into him for the next few years and he was renamed ‘Daniel’ and forced to cut his hair short. He hated it there, but a few of the older boys took care of him every time he came back to the bedroom with fresh bruises, so it was okay.

One day, he met a girl with fire for hair. The boys had been banished to the park because they were being too rowdy, but one of the older kids said the head caretaker just had too much fun the night before, whatever that meant. The girl pushed him on the swing and said her name was Jazz and that she was visiting from out of town because her parents were on a work trip. Danyal liked Jazz, because she was nice and not just because she had fire for hair.

Jazz decided she liked him, too, and told him that she was going to be his big sister whether her parents liked it or not. Her parents treated child acquisition much like getting a pet, in his opinion, and told Jazz that if she wanted a little brother she had to take care of him. But, soon he was renamed Daniel James Fenton, and any traces of his past life were washed away. That was okay, though, because he had a sister. She even learned some Arabic for him in secret, and they had whispered conversations late at night when they couldn’t sleep. He started going by Danny and pretended it was short for Danyal.

Danny died again 8 years later at 14. Electrocuted to death in his own basement, by an invention his adoptive parents made. This time he died fully. This time the portal that opened on top of him was much, much stronger. He died and was revived over and over again for an eternity and a couple seconds. When he was flung from the portal, he was fully dead and fully alive. Schrödinger's boy.

The year that followed was probably the worst of his short, miserable half-life.

No one told him how to be dead. Ghosts tried to, but since he was also alive it didn’t really work. He didn’t understand the intrinsic language of cores that all the other ghosts did, and saw their attempts at bonding as attacks.

He was terrified for his life daily. He was fending off other ghosts, trying to minimize damage to the town and damage to the ghosts. He was also attempting to hide the fact that he was dead, and alter every one of his adoptive parents’ inventions so that they wouldn’t End him fully, and fighting off an insane godfather with less than pure intentions. The Guys in White showed up, and things went from bad to worse. Sam and Tucker tried to call the Justice League, but something the GIW did stopped all outside communication.

Then, as if Danny didn’t have enough on his plate and trying to balance school on top of that, Vlad (said insane godfather) released the evil tyrant king of the dead, who had been imprisoned by his council for a reason. The tyrant king then pulled all of Amity Park into the Infinite Realms. Of course, Danny was the only one who could fight him off and no adult ghosts who knew what they were doing could help, and by defeating Pariah Dark Danny accidentally became the next king of the Infinite Realms.

Even then, he had no one to help him until months later when Vlad’s antics made the Ancients realize that Danny didn’t know what the fuck he was doing. But that took having to battle his evil future self Dan, being tortured by Vlad, and fighting off and subsequently adopting a failed evil clone of his. It was only then that Clockwork realized that standing back and not interfering in “timely matters” as he called it wasn’t working.

Danny was actually taught how to be a ghost. He learned that he was technically a baby ghost and all of his rogues had been trying to have friendly brawls with him as a way to teach him. He was also thrown into the deep end of learning how to be a future king to a literal infinite realm of beings.

All the while the GIW was attacking ghosts and civilians alike, and his parents were becoming more and more like the mad scientists Batman locked up, and Danny still had school.

And then, as if his half-life wasn’t hard enough, Frostbite came to him with the melting cores of Dan and Ellie. Dan, who had been put in time-out by Clockwork and had progressed enough to go on errands for him and been attacked. And Dani, who was unstable from the beginning but who Danny had thought was doing better with frequent treatments from the Yetis. The only way to save them was to take their broken cores inside his own to heal them.

Pregnant. He would be ghost pregnant at 15. Which was fine, it was all fine. He didn’t like Dan but he had been reformed outside of time and working to be better, and Ellie was his sister. Danny would save them.

It took almost 5 months before he started showing, but those 5 months were the most peaceful of his life. With his king-to-be training, he was able to send out a decree that all ghosts were to stay away from his home dimension for their own safety. He was also able to assign guards with the task of tracking down Vlad and imprisoning him. Though the man was on the run, he wasn’t bothering Danny. Danny could focus on school, and friends, and hiding from the GIW, who had lessened their forces a bit with the lack of ghosts.

When he started showing finally, he let the tentative peace get to him and decided to tell his parents everything.

It didn’t go well. He was shot with a weapon, a new one he hadn't had the chance to alter. Jack and Maddie were convinced that he was an evil ghost possessing their dead son’s body, and tried to capture him for experimentation.

He lost Dan and Ellie. He lost his parents, too, in a different way.

He fled to the Infinite Realms, blew up the portal and all of his parents' work, and decided that he was done with the human world.

Grand Theft Danny part 21

He loved his brothers, he really did, but….

How do they get into these messes? Like, he expected better from Duke. Not really from Jason, but usually he gets dragged into stuff by the Outlaws. Really, this was more in line with Tim and his Young Justice group.

It took some considerable bribing for Jason to explain his side, but after a couple of hours, two snack breaks, and more than one theoretical debates on whether or not if Danny could taste a milkshake if they poured it into the gas tank, Dick had a good idea of the absolute unit of magic fuckery that was taking place.

Throughout their explanations and subsequent snack runs, they had found themselves in Robertson park in a secluded grassy spot, with the three vigilantes on the grass leaning on the side of the Batmobile.

“So, Danny…. What do you like to do when you are not a… well, one ton of butt kicking supercar?” Dick asked, breaking the, not quite, comfortable silence of the group.

Danny responded with a clip of “Wouldn't you like to know weather boy.”

Duke couldn't stop laughing and Jason face-palmed.

“OH, come on. You try making small talk with a possessed Car.” He whined.

“Still could have done better than that Dickie.” Jason laughed.

Dick stuck his tongue out at Jason. “Fine then, what do you want to do now? You had your joyride, and got lunch, what's next?”

The three of them traded ideas with Danny cheering or boo'ing certain suggestions.

“Maybe another joyride with the cool kids?”

All three vigilantes jumped and turned to see Spoiler and Black Bat lounging on the roof of the Batmobile.

Here to talk about the little cricket (?) dude you've been talking about, Lux I think his name is? Anyway I haven't seen such a accurate rubber hose character since cuphead and little fella is really cute! (Since he's from Dr Who I assume he's malignant in some way? Idk I don't really plan on watching it, I just wanted to comment.) Anyways, he's super charming and expressive, I like having him all over my dash :]

hahaha YESSSS gosh i am so happy that folks are so excited about Mr. Ring-A-Ding | Lux Imperator, even if they aren't fans of the show!! i'm biased as a long-time Whovian, but the episode Lux really is the best one we've had in ages, so i'd recommend it wholeheartedly 😉 let me give you a little bit of lore re: our new toony cricket fellow!! massive spoilers for the episode Lux and an ongoing plot in Doctor Who, so only read if you're interested 🥰 i hope this'll be useful for any newcomers who are interested in starting Doctor Who as well!!

HUGE LORE DUMP BELOW:

so!!! the basic premise of Doctor Who is: the Doctor is an alien called a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. he travels the universe through time and space in his 'spaceship', the TARDIS (stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space), and his almost always looks like a battered-up police box. he often travels with 'companions': usually human (though sometimes alien!) sidekicks who help him solve space/historical-related mysteries. when the Doctor dies, he can 'regenerate': his body changes, saving him from death and giving him an entirely new appearance. currently, we are on the Fifteenth Doctor, played by the brilliant Ncuti Gatwa 🥰

now back in 2023, we received three episodes for the show's 60th anniversary, and things changed hugely. as the Doctor regenerated into his Fourteenth version, he somehow came back with a familiar face: that of David Tennant's Tenth Doctor (perhaps one of the best-known iterations of the Doctor). this is because of the return of a character who hadn't been seen since the 60s: the Toymaker, a godlike entity who rules over games 👀

The Toymaker's introduction started a shift for the show, which was almost always strict sci-fi, into a more fantastical, rule-bending realm. the Toymaker turned out to be a member of The Pantheon of Discord: a collective of gods whose powers are beyond the laws of physics and nature. normally, The Doctor faces off against sci-fi monsters and antagonists, but the Pantheon are far more powerful, and not bound to typical rules (though they do have their own). there are a few members we know are in the Pantheon (The Toymaker, his child Maestro, the God of Death Sutekh) and some we speculate are in the Pantheon (the fourth-wall breaking Mrs. Flood), but the episode Lux finally confirmed our newest Pantheon member: Mr. Ring-A-Ding, AKA Lux Imperator, the God of Light 😱 in-universe, Mr. Ring-A-Ding is a character from a 1930s-era cartoon inspired by Fleischer Studios, Disney's then-competitor (and the inspiration for games like Cuphead!). however, Lux Imperator possessed and brought to life Mr. Ring-A-Ding's form by travelling on moonlight into a movie theatre set in 1950s Miami, where he climbed out of the screen and sealed the movie-watchers into celluloid film. when the Doctor and his current companion, Belinda Chandra, end up at the theatre, Mr. Ring-A-Ding (as he is calling himself) shows up as a smaller, physical manifestation of a living cartoon, and pretends to be innocent...but he quickly reveals his true form as Lux Imperator 🙈💖

after some completely crazy fourth-wall-breaking shenanigans wherein Mr. Ring-A-Ding | Lux animates the Doctor and Belinda, trapping them inside of celluloid film, he reveals his new desire: to use the Doctor's regeneration energy and build himself a body. this is because Lux craves light, but has always been trapped in the dark. having seen it on a film in the movie theatre, Lux wants to use the power of the atom bomb to unleash the most devastating light of all. it's pretty insane 😂

and the end of the episode is...the Doctor exposes Lux to sunlight, which causes him to grow infinitely large and...dissipate, into space? along with light itself? we have no idea. it's utterly mad, but SUCH a great watch!!! so to answer your question: yes, he definitely was malignant at first, but he kind of gets one of the nicest endings i've seen for a Doctor Who baddie in a while? he's just chilling up there in space now, twinkling along with the stars. that's wonderful 🙈💖 tldr; Mr. Ring-a-Ding is both the name of a 1930s Fleischer-esque cartoon-character in-universe, and the name adopted by Lux Imperator, the God of Light. if you're confused, don't worry: that's all part of the Doctor Who experience 😂💖

After a minute of silence and nothing bad happening in the room, Dick sighed with relief. Kory laughed softly, waiting for her boyfriend's response.

Dick (playing it cool): I guess I've reached that age to get married and you've been someone I could see myself growing old with. Yeah, in a year I will propose to you.

Kory (eager): Perfect! Oh, and you'll be getting married to a woman that's not a five stage clinger who is no good. Like Talia.

Dick: You remembered I said that. That makes me want you more.

Dick and Kory shared a kiss while Hayley napped next to the couch.
