PLEASE infodump to me, how do we know for a fact the skiddo in the trailers and concert is the prince? I am starved for Alef lore

I will GLADLY info dump about my favorite sky kids!!

SPOILER WARNING FOR ANYONE WHO HASNT COMPLETED AURORA!

Obligatory nothing is absolutely confirmed in sky unless stated by creators since there's no dialogue. So lots of stuff is always up to interpretation.

Howeverrrr the likelihood of Alef being the sky kid we see is essentially 99.9%!!

So here we go!!!

First thing to note is that the spirit from isle and the concert is totally the same Sky Kid. And we can tell thanks to MAMA Spirit! Or well- the adoptive mama spirit! More specifically... the adoptive mama spirit who unfortunately dies :(

One of the FIRST spirits in the game is a feminine looking ancestor with a relatively high pony tail, who discovers a fallen sky child (likely to be Alef)! This occurs in the Isle of Dawn!

Then, in the concert, we get a similar looking spirit ( high ponytail ) who ALSO took in a sky child-- who dies tragically :( leaving the sky child orphaned and alone.

Granted it is a different body type!!! But considering the amount of retcons and redesigns of areas / updates to the game around this time I'll look past it for now. But regardless, ponytail stays the same.

And of course lastly is our mama from the trailers with our Dawn Ember :(

Who is also wearing a bag on her shoulders like the aurora spirit (you can see the rope strap!)- and who also tragically loses her life as confirmed by TGC during the anniversary livestream. This can be found when they state it's the tale of two ORPHANS... implying our Dawn Ember does not have a guardian. Or at least not anymore. (Which also implies our Dusk Ember/The Stewards parents who gave him the butterfly pendant ALSO die, but that's for another time)

Something to note is that Sky Kids and ancestors are NOT the same race. They are completely different. Ancestors do have children!! But Sky Kids are a separate thing.

And they're rare.

Very rare.

So rare in fact that it's heavily believed by the fandom that Alef/Resh was the FIRST sky kid.

So the likelihood of two different pony tailed ancestors (who live in the Isle of Dawn AND who die tragically) adopting a sky kid is SUPER UNLIKELY!

So that's how we vaguely know it's the SAME Sky kid. BUT!! Most importantly, we know the Sky Kid is Alef forrrrr kinda shallow reasons, but they hold water!!! So it counts!!!

Which is basically to sayyyy... Dawn Ember is wearing a baby version of King Resh's mask.

So like- not the most GROUND BREAKING lore reveal. But---

Also the implication that he got the extra four points AFTER prophecy, explains why as a kid he only has the main 4 points at the top and sides. Plus he already has suspiciously placed "cracks" in his mask where the 4 other points will come out of. That's our baby boy for sure!!!

Obviously, this isn't concrete proof of tgc just going HEY that's Alef!

However, for a game with zero dialogue and the most complex game of charades ever, this is basically as good as it's gonna get when it comes to tying everything together!

Also his name is Dawn.

Which explains a lot, because we've all been kinda side eyeing the names like why tf did they name Hopeful Steward the Dusk Ember. But, if they're naming them off of AREAS and not literally the day/night motif that makes sense. Especially since a ton of Dusk Embers trailer scenes seem to take place in Wasteland, which the devs call the Dusk area. Despite him probably being from prairie or aviary village.

You remember the soldiers poets king trend? Its been a while but I thought about it in regards to epic the musical today and omg.

Ody, Eury and polites. They are the perfect embodiment of soldier poet king. Stay with me, okay?

Lets start with Odysseus. He is the king. Its obvious at first, he is the king of itaca after all but there is so much more!

He carries his duty like a burden too big for him. A man chosen by the gods. He whishes nothing more than to be just a man, than to be free of his responsibilities and duties but he never can be fully free. He is forced to make the hardest decisions, the responsibility lies in his hands. No matter where, no matter when. Whatever he tries, he can never escape from the burden. He is a king, a captain, a warrior of the mind. But he is never just a man.

Next: Eurylochus as the soldier

He was forced into the trojan war like all of them were. And after ten years of fighting he doesn’t know anything but war. He tries to be ruthless, his first approach was violence when he really just wants the fighting to end. Instead of wanting to talk to the lotus eater, he tells odysseus to attack. Its the safest thing he knows. And when he finally stops fighting, and trust Odysseus, his trust is broken and his friends die because of Odysseus. He can never stop fighting and he is so, ao tired of war.

And last: Polites as the poet

Polites is the sunshine, the one to keep the others warm and happy and optimistic. And doing that he burns himself out. He is a soldier who has peace in his heart and on his tongue. He talks of open arms while the blood of the people he was forced to kill stain his hands whenever he closes his eyes. But he can never stop being happy and optimistic because if not he, who else will take care of his friends and make sure they don't fall into despair?

do you think louis is seeing dream!stat because he feels guilty for moving on and enjoying himself so much with armand, or because he really just misses lestat and can't help but compare armand to him all the time? it's probably a bit of both, but do you think it's more one than the other? i'm not asking for spoilers btw (i doubt this is a question the show will answer definitively) just your opinion!

i do think it's a bit of both. louis quite literally apologizes to dreamstat in the first episode because he feels guilty for what he did. and as evidenced by the new "come to me" scene, i think it's safe to argue that louis feels he is betraying lestat somehow by pursuing armand.

for the most part though, i do think louis allows lestat to haunt him because he misses him and he finds it almost impossible to let lestat go. obviously, after meeting armand and getting into a relationship with him, dreamstat is going to make it difficult for louis to give himself over completely to another man (we've all seen the clip of the three of them in the bedroom together 🤣).

i'm not sure if louis is comparing armand to lestat, more just asking himself "what will i do differently this time in this relationship?"

there's a line in one of the books (i forget which one) where louis tells lestat that he's been his "teacher" in love. i think that's very much present in dreamstat. and before people come for me i'm not saying the way lestat loves is what you should romanticize, or hope for in life or anything like that. i just mean that lestat was louis' first love and that will always shape him. and now louis is trying to move on with someone else and he doesn't really know how to approach that. louis hallucinating lestat is a form of comfort. lestat was all louis knew when it came to romantic love before meeting armand. ("for the first time in my life i was seen"). all this to say, i believe louis carries lestat with him because he'll always love him, even if he claims otherwise.

I'm sorry that you were harassed over the comic. It's such a good piece of work and I think about it a lot as someone who believes that Liam and Airy would have learned to co-exist in a timeline where Airy didn't die. It genuinely touched my heart and I remember reading it over and over when I first came across it. It's sad that a show full of morally gray characters attracted a fan base of people with such black and white thinking. I hope that people leave you alone.

airy isn't evil, there's really no real-life equivalent to teleporting people into a gmod map. once he saw liam, a real person, in front of him-- you can see it start to click for him. he drops everything to care for and accommodate him, i think he'd do that for anyone who came to tell him to stop One. he can't understand that everyone else on the plane is Real like liam is. it took him physically manifesting in front of him to even realize he was.

he and liam are a mirror of eachother, maddened by death and un-death, detached from what is "good," "bad," and even real because of the trauma they've experienced. it is maddening to watch people run in circles trying to decide "who's the victim?!" "who's had it worse?!" "which one is irredeemable and which one's just a poor traumatized guy who doesn't mean all the awful things he's done?!" because That Isn't The Point Whatsoever. people create these boxes and draw these lines and then apply them in places where no one fits into them.

I just finished the game again, and I realized that when they make the next Hogwarts Legacy game… Sebastian won’t be in it! 😭😭😭

If they are making a second game, I doubt they would cut Sebastian, considering he's one of their more popular characters with a complex storyline 🥺

In my playthrough, Lyla doesn't turn him in (especially since she's seen how horrible Azkaban is and what it does to people) so I like to think Sebastian would return for his Sixth Year. He seemed pretty remorseful for what he did and determined to redeem himself. I feel a redemption arc coming on, or at least I hope so 👀

However, since his quest line can end in two ways, I'm curious to see how different his storyline will be depending on the player's choices, if at all.

Plus, I want to know what will happen with Anne. I hope they wrap up her story in a more satisfying way. Definitely wasn't expecting it to end the way it did 💔

This is for my tabletop RPG folks. I am in mourning for my Pathfinder group, and it is so painful. I am wondering if other people have had a similar experience.

I was in a group of friends that regularly played tabletop RPGs together - D&D, Numenera, long games and one-shots. There were two people who GMd, and they were both amazing storytellers and some of the best GMs I have ever had in my many hears of tabletop and live action gaming. We were roommates with one of them, I’ll call her R, and for the last year we had been playing a game with her, our other roomie, my partner, and the best GM ever, H. It was a pathfinder game, but set in the D&D Eberron setting. It was such a good game. H had worked with each of the players to create backstories that were complex and full of interesting trauma, and better yet connected to the main plot. I was only beginning to see how they all connected, and the ways that all of our player stories were intertwined. It felt like a novel - like our stories were inevitably twisted into a greater story within this world that we could not escape. I could see the complex plot coming together and I was SO EXCITED. The section of the story we were in, we were heading towards Stormreach, where my character was from. I was so ready for her trauma or people from her past to rear its head and force me to reveal her backstory to the rest of the party. I was so excited to see if the theories I had as a player about how it was all connected were correct.

But then things soured with the roommates. For our own emotional, mental, and physical safety my partner and I had to leave that house fast. And R did not take it well. I don’t want to go into the details, but it was horrible and messy, and R and a third roommate who was not part of the rpg group became strange and distant and iced us out.

The tabletop group fell apart. At first I was sure we would start playing again, once things calmed down and we all had some space from each other. But then I contacted H (they live out of state, so we have never met in person, and talk mostly over discord) And they completely ghosted me. I did not expect this. They are longtime friends with R, and I suppose she told them some story of what happened from her point of view, and made my partner and me out to be the villains. But I did not expect H to react this way. We are all in our 30s and 40s, and H is a very grounded, drama-free adult. Them just ghosting me is like a punch to the gut. Were we not also becoming friends? Did our game and our friendship mean so little to them?

The reason I am posting here is that my family and friends are sympathetic, but don’t seem to understand the depth of my mourning, except maybe my partner. It feels like a piece of my soul has been ripped away. It feels like someone taking a novel you were reading that was so good and you were so invested in out of your hands and burning it. Except you are also the author. And you will never be able to finish writing it, since you are a co-author. And the community, the friends, the sense of camaraderie, the monday nights you always looked forward to - gone. All gone.

I don’t know where I am going with this. I have played for years, but the loss of a group has never hit me this hard. I miss being my character every week, she was so cool. I miss the other party members, they felt like real people, like my friends, who I may never see again. And I miss the players behind them too. The greif of losing a party is so real. Monday nights are hard.

I miss my boyfriend a lot

my job started sucking really badly - my two bosses who I would've died for had to go back to the UK for a while to sort out a visa thing, me and another guy were supposed to take over, but he is just the most toxic misogynistic boys club type of guy EVER (and it's in a subtle way where I am Crazy Woman if I bitch about it) and I've been left powerless; I was supposed to be the head bartender and am just spoken to like I'm a fucking idiot constantly and have no authority and every single thing I have to say is treated like an attack no matter how objectively correct it is (I could bitch about this for ages if anyone wants to hear more lol), PLUS just in general 2 of my very best friends here are gone and a lot of the magic they created is lost

one of my boyfriend's really close friends just died and he's having a very hard time

because I miss my boyfriend, it feels like everything about being here is temporary. I feel like I have one foot in and one foot out of each door, and I simply want to... be in a room. I'm finding myself feeling more and more empty the longer I go without being in a room.

I feel like everything here is Resolved and there's not much more to possibly have happen WITHOUT really starting a permanent Life here, which I think is not something I want to do considering every other factor

my boyfriend and I had a very long talk about what our future looks like, because it was important to me to be able to visualize what I am actually going back TO, and to make sure it's not more of the same shit that was making me miserable. So we are moving to Nashville in October and I feel EXTREMELY hopeful and optimistic about that - I have more friends in Nashville (who are higher quality people, too) than anywhere else in the country and I feel extremely optimistic about that

it's winter in Melbourne and I'm getting seasonal depression seeing most people I know have summer now lol

the squisters:

proto is basically the third squid sister, even if they don't perform. they do a lot of the management, the advertising, organise stuff, the works. they do less of it after splat1 as they all start to drift apart, but they like the squid sisters in the "we are literal sisters" sense rather than just the music sense

as musicians, flora and bola don't really like them. they represent the tastes of wider inkadia and the more well-off parts of inkopolis, which is not at all what flora and bola are about. as people... it depends. in the canon where flora is agent 4, she's kind of indifferent to them. marie hands him a military grade gun and he didn't have hearing aids at the time so she just decided "yeah okay i'll start doing violence, whatever" and doesn't really care about saving callie or whatever. literally does not find out about it until later, when he finds out the hero headset work as hearing aids. bola doesn't trust them at all, but they're more focused on openly antagonising proto than on agents 1 and 2. HOWEVER.... there is also an au i wanna do more stuff for, called the odd1out au, where marie/callie swap and so do flora/bola. bola and callie work together to rescue marie, but it's less of a "you gave me a gun so sure i'll shoot people whatever" situation and more of an exchange: bola helps callie do this and she has to help them take down/generally harass Squidforce. bola's very abrasive as opposed to flora being very accepting and uncaring as agent 4, so they kinda force callie to grow and recognise a lot of the biases she's been carrying from craig (e.g., callie assumes bola is an octarian bc they're an octoling, makes a comment along the lines of oh aren't you glad you deserted them, and bola refuses to come back and help until callie comes and apologises (they also punch her in the face for that)). so in that au, callie kinda grows on bola and therefore flora too, once she comes to hang out with them to help w the squidforce stuff. marie is... rockier. after getting rescued, she's pretty bitter that callie is spending more time with someone she perceives as an octarian, the group that fucked her over, than with her own cousin. this is amplified when the eights join the leftovers, cause then she's hanging with Actual Octarian Soldiers, and bubbles being a sniper/scout means that marie has no place in the group. basically bc callie grew while marie didn't they grow apart and the leftovers don't really like her, and fully resent her once it comes out what proto and the squisters did in splat1 and she sides with proto over callie.

uh anyway i got carried away there. CB and bubbles' opinions change as they get more of their mem cakes, as they dont get them all the first time around and have to go back later for them. before, they're like "theyre famous ig? idk im trying to Survive here" but after they're like Oh Those Guys Caused A Large Amount Of Our Problems since they were directly responsible for causing the famine + desertion that was a catalyst to bubbles' parents abandoning him and CB getting Unethical Scienced on to make her a supersoldier. theres a reason they fight Inner Agents 1 & 2 rather than Inner Agent 3 and it's not just that proto is a weak ass fighter

pluto gives not a single shit. none. not one. levi (lil buddy, Leviathan's Flight Over Verdant Pastures, horrorboros, i need to mention them more) likes the squid sister's music well enough. would listen to it on the radio but wouldn't put on a playlist of it. doesnt really care about the people either

proto hadn't heard of them before octo expansion, and honestly doesn't super like either of them? they make a bad first impression on CB & bubbles, and therefore a bad impression on OTH, since the eights have the radio before meeting 3 and craig in this au. they never really recover from it bc theyre kinda rude in general and dont make a massive effort to redeem themselves to OTH. indifferent towards their music.

flora and bola absolutely idolise OTH, since they run the announcements for the underground inksports scene rather than the official squidforce stuff (big inspiration from @worldsewage's stuff), which is what the two of them frequent. they like OTH for the same reasons they dislike the squisters; they represent the same parts and aspects of inkopolis culture that the leftovers do. they get closer with OTH thanks to the connection through CB and bubbles post-OE, and are even trusted to run the announcements for OTH while they're on tour! fun fact: off the hook concerts are probably one of the main contributors to flora's deafness. guy who did not wear hearing protection to the concert of "woman who destroys shit with her voice" and suffers the consequences

CB & bubbles are super close with OTH, since they're the first people they met other than each other after waking up without any memories. marina was also the first person to speak to them in octarian, which was the only language they could understand at first. they care for each other and they're great friends, CB and bubbles don't help the other leftovers with covering the announcements bc they go on tour with OTH, and even perform with them a couple times!

pluto has never heard of them and neither has levi. rip!

proto doesn't like them bc they're getting in the way of the NSS' goals in alterna. theres not really any redemption at the end, cause deep cut don't decide marie should be their boss in my au, they instead decide to side with pluto who also doesn't really give a shit about the NSS. doesnt listen to their music

the leftovers squad all likes their music, but flora and bola do like to play up the whole splatsville vs inkopolis thing whenever they're brought up since they're loyal to inkopolis. all in good fun tho. maybe if they get famous enough theyll do a collab w deep cut or smth i need to figure out where to put them in my lore. CB and bubbles never meet them i dont think

pluto likes their music, levi LOVES it. in alterna, though, theyre all "i want the treasure and will absolutely fight you for it" rather than fanboying (fangirling? fansalmoning?) over them. meeting them more as equals since they're both splatsland bandits trying to make a living. they do a lot of teamups post-alterna, though more in the banditry sense than the music sense. levi absolutely gets all of their autographs

in short olivia was a big swiftie and would talk/post about taylor all the time and often credited her for inspiring her to write songs. when she blew up after drivers license taylor took notice of her and wrote her a 10 page letter and gifted her the ring she wore when she wrote red. they met at the 2021 brits and olivia stopped talking about taylor after that, presumably in efforts to make a name for herself since everyone was calling her the next taylor swift. around the same time olivia’s team extended credits to taylor and jack for deja vu as a precautionary measure to avoid copyright allegations (she was being flooded with them at the time). taylor’s team didn’t demand credit in any way or sue her. but olivia’s been weird about taylor after that, stopped talking about her altogether, dodged questions about whether there was beef between her and taylor, was kinda weird towards her at the grammys

you may not even get the chance to read this message because I'm sure you have a TON of them to go through as is. however, I'd just like to point out something to that one DM shipper that sent you that last message. i think it's important to note that everyone has their own biases, opinions, and perspectives. for example, there were some screeners who said this most recent episode was worse than 1x05. OP, you said the exact opposite. essentially, I think people need to realize that everyone is gonna have a different opinion but that doesn't necessarily mean that's what everyone will take away from what they're watching. some people said DM shippers wouldn't be happy with what we got in 2x05 but A LOT of us were pretty happy with it, so your mileage may vary. it's merely a difference in opinion and perspective based on your own biases, which we all have. i wouldn't worry too much about the future of DM because none of us know of rolin's exact and specific plans for the future. just take a deep breath, guys! let the tale seduce you.

i 100% agree with you. it's hard for me to answer questions like that-- my opinion can only mean so much! i don't want to get people's hopes up just based on whatever ~ vibe ~ i'm feeling from the show. for example, i thought people would be ecstatic with ANY sort of armand/young daniel interaction, so i was like "wow people are going to love 2x05 just like i did." BUT there may be people out there that hated what we got! i'm not sure! i want to be delicate with my opinions because i know how important certain plot points are to people, but i'm someone who is yet to be disappointed with any adaptation changes, and i remain pretty positive for any upcoming ones as well.

i also completely understand being stressed out or worried about what will happen in the future of the show. i know people have been disappointed a dozen times over by various tv shows (myself included), but i hope people recognize that i am just someone who watches and enjoys the show. i have no clout at amc headquarters. 🤣 if i did i would have secured 10 seasons for this show. i cannot promise that everything people want WILL happen in the show. you have to watch and judge for yourself if you want to continue.

He feels that it’s Pisaeng fault Pear doesn’t like him. Well slowly but surely in all the timelines he gonna realize she will probably NEVER see him that way. The clue to that is how they all become best friends but she somehow still ends up engaged to Pisaeng.
