What do you do when you hear an ice storm is on it's way? Well, if you have 4 spinning wheels, you run out to your local yarn store @dyehardyarns_op to be sure you have plenty to "feed" them for the next few days! This wheel is my latest adoption, "Brigid Christina" or B.C.! I was blessed to find her in my own neighborhood from a woman who is downsizing/moving. It was her grandmother's wheel, and it hasn't been used to spin for several decades (since grandma Christina). I've had her for a little over a week, I cleaned and oiled her and now she is very "hungry". She used up the rest of the @lornaslaces grey alpaca I had, so I went to get more. Of course I also found some goodies for my #fibreshare2019 partner! And some rainbow dyed roving for a weaving I'm currently working on too. Oh, I do hope this ice storm hits! I can't turn. Like, at all. I know my technique is shit, but it's frustrating to even work on this. In gymnastics, I could flip all day, but I could never twist. I just get completely lost. I can't spin, turning jumps disorient me, and even aerials cartwheels and simple illusions are hard to twist around, even though I've been doing them since I was a little kid. I can teach all of these things. I can correct these things. I'm pretty sure I see most of the technical problems in my turns. I know what I need to do to fix my turns. I know this is probably related to #autism and probably #dyscalculia, but it's annoying and embarrassing to be so awful at something so simple.
